Lovely relaxing clean homely lodge kevin was really friendly and helpful
Maureen from Jarrow (31 August 2018)

I don't very often leave reviews but this time I have to say what a lovely time we had at the lodge. It was everything we wanted and needed. we knew the area well already so knew it would be peaceful. The lodges are well spaced out so never heard neighbours. Clean and well presented. Kevin delivered logs for us and checked we were ok. We never needed him again because there were no issues at all. We even had a sunny week, where we normally get rain when we are in the lakes!
Elaine from Burton On Trent (31 August 2018)

Great holiday, location perfect for exploring th southern lakes, beautiful village of cartmel only 3/4 mile short walk - accommodation excellent and very comfortable
Andy from Carmarthen (31 August 2018)

We lost sleep the first night as the shower was broken and made an horrendous noise. Kevin had already been made aware of it but it couldnt be repaired until our second day. We both felt very tired and felt that we'd lost a day of our holiday.
Deborah from Huddersfield (31 August 2018)

Highly recommend staying at meadows end
Leesa from Bolton (27 August 2018)

Great holiday
Richard from Sunderland (27 August 2018)

We had a lovely relaxing break, accommodation of a good standard. we had a few issues with noisy water pressure in bathroom but hot tub more than made up for it. staff were friendly and helpful. Decking very slippery when wet.
Christopher from West Midlands (24 August 2018)

Absolutely stunning lodge and location. Spotless on arrival, very easy to keep clean when you're in there. Really nice, comfy lodge. Would definately recommend and we will be returning. Location is brilliant. The hot tub is kept clean and is checked.
Claire from Tottington (20 August 2018)

Lovely place will be back
Robert (17 August 2018)

Adrian from Sheffield (13 August 2018)

Great and relaxing place.
Kristian (10 August 2018)

Stayed at meadows end last august and just returned again this year. Absolutely loved it, both times! we were texted the night before by kevin with our key code as there is no reception on site. He was also there when we arrived to ensure we had had a safe journey and had all we needed. There was milk in the fridge, tea, coffee & sugar so we could have a hot drink after our long journey. . the lodge was beautifully clean and tidy and well equipped for our stay. The hot tub was lovely in the evenings to relax in after a day of visiting different parts of the lakes. The site is well kept and maintained and in a beautiful location close to cartmel village. Would definitely return again and highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing break in the lakes!
Shirley from Would Definitely Return Again And Highly Recommend (10 August 2018)

Had a fantastic week in the teesdale lodge. It was very well equipped, nicely furnished and very comfortable. the secluded decking and hot tub were an added bonus and well utilised! kevin the duty warden was always on hand should you have any problems and he was the perfect character for the job! . . the location of the lodges was perfect for sightseeing. cartmel was on your doorstep, grange-over-sands and many other places were only a short drive away.
Jane from Watford (10 August 2018)

Great little lodge, perfect for us in a great location not too far away from anything.
Paul from Leicestershire (06 August 2018)

Beautiful mini moon. Lodge is very clean and modern and setting is peaceful.
Lesley from Rotherham (03 August 2018)

We had a really relaxing time. Enjoyed the hot tub every night before dinner. Very clean and everything we needed.
Elissa from Glasgow (23 July 2018)

Great place for a break. Welcomed when we arrived and all amenities explained to us. Would highly recommend for relaxing. Spotless accommodation.
Diane from Bradford, West Yorkshire (23 July 2018)

Superb family break. Herdwick is the best lodge in the park. Two bedrooms with en suite. Large living area. Wifi is really decent too.
Chris from Glasgow (20 July 2018)

Shaun lodge was very nice and in a lovely location.
Derek from Darlington (20 July 2018)

Stayed fri/mon for our 1st anniversary & it was amazing, lovely lodge very clean, helpful staff who are there all the time should you need them, we will definitely be going back again & the hot tub just made it extra special
Angela from Blackburn (16 July 2018)

My wife and I had a lovely week at meadow end lodge. Would definatly stay again. Lodge really comfortable and clean. The hot tub was added bonus.
Jonathan from Freckleton, Preston (13 July 2018)

The lodge would of been perfect (teesdale lodge) if the double bed was comfortable - not having a good nights sleep is not ideal when you want a relaxing holiday.
David from York (13 July 2018)

The lodge was perfect! . will definitely be returning
Kelly from Merseyside (02 July 2018)

Lovely relaxing holiday, hot tub was great, think the kitchen should have bigger pans, found it difficult to cook, potatoes, rice, pasta etc. Think it would benefit from more windows that open, because of exceptional hot weather we had to leave both doors open to create a draft and on more than one occasion we found someone’s dog in our accommodation, very annoying.
Marion (02 July 2018)

The lodge was well layed out. We were welcomed and put at ease. We were given essentials from the owners. The out side decking area had not been cleaned or brushed in a while. A few cobwebs were gathering the inside. The television reception was terrible staff were asked to help and a commitment was given however we were still waiting for staff to come.
James from Glasgow (29 June 2018)

Had a lovely relaxing time, just so hot and no fan or air conditioning. . we still had a lovely time, lodge was perfect and very well equipped x
Barbara from Southport (29 June 2018)

Excellent getaway for a quiet relaxed weekend, didn't want to leave.va little overpriced but would still come again.
Anika from Blackpool (25 June 2018)

We absolutely loved staying here for a full week. It was so peaceful and relaxing and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The only trouble was the location with regards to shops or pubs. We had to drive everywhere as the roads did become a bit narrow. . we would definitely recommend to all my friends.
Lauren from Northwich (25 June 2018)

Great location for lakes. Beautiful lodge, well kept and clean. Hot tub alright, but would like to in it longer than a hour, before it switched off for a while. Tub area nice and secluded. Nice to see a shower area for the disable, its a rare occurrence.
Douglas from Doncaster (25 June 2018)

Fantastic lodge in lovely surroundings. had a great 5 days only wish I could have stayed longer.
Alexandra (22 June 2018)

Absolutely loved it here we had a lovely weekend, will definitely be booking again
Jodi from Whitby (18 June 2018)

Lovely four night break. Had been a little worried about walk into cartmel but its an easy 10 minute walk along a quiet road. Would recommend for couples or families with older kids as really not much for young kids to do in and around the immediate area. Phone signal and wifi spot on. Park beautifully kept with really friendly staff who let you get on with it but are there if you need them. Hot tub perfect with enough privacy. Will definately return.
Joanne from Cramlington. Northumberland (15 June 2018)

We had an exhalant holiday with good weather it was a touch pricey but I still recommend it.
David from Barnsley (28 May 2018)

Had a lovely time beautiful place
Sharon from Leeds (28 May 2018)

Rachael (21 May 2018)

Amanda from Crewe (21 May 2018)

Lovely
Katie from Bradford (18 May 2018)

Brilliant weekend away lodge was lovely and cartmel village 10 min walk away was beautiful. Only thing we'd of liked is decking area leading to hot tub and a little more privacy as you could see through the fence alot.
Antonia from Durham (14 May 2018)

Cant wait to go back
Stuart (14 May 2018)

We had 3 nights in february which was a christmas present from our girls . . super log cabin in a quiet location but not far to many places. We went to coniston and windermere. Walk to the village 10/15 minutes down the hill. Lovely small village great pubs and lovely meal in the pub . back to the log cabin friendly welcome from kevin, showed us how to work the hot tub and log burner . lovely cabin with everything you need. Small amount of tea, coffee and sugar and a pint of milk . even sticky toffee pudding which is well famous in the area. . we came back and I re booked for next year as a surprise for him in doors(sure I should have been a man, arnt they suppose to be the romantic ones)
Claire from Haworth (14 May 2018)

Our overall experience of vendeen lodge was very poor. We found serious issues with cleanliness and safety in both shower areas and the kitchen. As I am partially disabled it was ridiculous that there was no soap dish on the walls so it meant having to bend down to my bar of soap on the floor. The soap dispensers that were on the walls did not work. The leather suite recliners were broken, I had to fix the standard lamp by simply screwing it tighter for it to stand up straight. The front door was hard to open and had rubber seal sticking out. Freezer drawers and cutlery / drainer were filthy. We had to set the times on both the oven and microwave before we could use them. I have photos of all these issues but am unable to attach all of them to this review. However, I will be happy to supply them to anyone. We cut our holiday short as we were not prepared to put up with the way in which this lodge was presented. There were items that the owners were already aware of but felt it acceptable for paying guests to put up with it. They should have been cleaned and items repaired before any paying guests stepped foot in the property. Our claim for a full refund was declined so we feel that potential holidaymakers should be aware.
Keith from Sleaford (04 May 2018)

Fantastic base to explore windermere. Cartmel is a lovely village to wander down to during yr stay. Lodge clean and well presented and little extras a real plus. (dishwasher tablets, milk on arrival etc)
Helen from Norwich (04 May 2018)

Meadow lane cottages are conveniently located about 15. Minutes walk from the lovely village of cartmel. It has a number of. Pubs and a couple of fine dining restaurants. . the cottage has a hot tub which is a perfect spot to relax after a day’s walking. There is a privacy screen around the hot tub. . . I was surprised that there wasn’t any obvious means to place recycling anywhere other than in the general waste bin and think this is something which needs to be immediately addressed. . cottage has gas central heating and this was very nice as allow we stayed in may evenings tended to be a bit cool. . . well equipped kitchen. Perfect spot for exploring the lakes and relaxing for a week. . the winesnug in cartmel is a heavenly spot and i’m sure would be perfect on a cold winter’s day, make sure you visit.
Alan from Ballymena (04 May 2018)

Beautifully decorated, very clean with everything you need including washing machine and dish washer. Fantastic private hot tub too! would definitely recommend.
Clare from Bury (30 April 2018)

Very nice lodge in close proximity of cartmel which offers a great selection of things to do.
Graham (30 April 2018)

Amazing! couldn’t recommend this place more - one of the best weekends away we have had and 100% will be returning
Abbey from Salford (30 April 2018)

Great place to stay ideally located 10 mins away from cartmel walkinging. Easy 10 mins drive the grange-over-sand too. Only down side was the 1st two night we’re slightly disrupted with being a shared / split lodge which isn’t advertised. Other than no fault of the site’s a great holiday.
Daniel (27 April 2018)

Would highly recommend. Perfect little retreat!
Samantha from Southport (23 April 2018)

Well where do I start. We booked up to go to meadows end lodges in march. However due to all of the snow we were unable to travel. I was so upset that I would lose our holiday. But it turned out that the lodge itself had frozen due to the weather. The staff were brilliant and offered to change our holiday to a later date. We landed 4 weeks after to beautiful well kept grounds. The lodge itself (lambs lodge) was very impressive, small but cozy. Warm and inviting and immaculate. We got a visit from the warden who looked after the site, he asked us if everything was ok and if there was anything we needed we just had to ask. He was a lovely guy. The lodge was very cosy and had all of the necessities we needed. Even tea and coffee. The hot tub was all ready to jump in. There were clear notices of how to work equipment etc. It was the perfect getaway and we really enjoyed the relaxation and tranquillity. Cartmel itself is a beautiful little village. With nice walks and good pubs!! would we return? we sure would! without a doubt. It was perfect. Thank you for a comfortable and relaxing gettaway.
Lisa from Sunderland (16 April 2018)

Park was beautiful and well maintained.

Peaceful, tranquil site close to cartmel. Nothing on site so lovely for relaxing in the hot tub and cartmel is close enough for facilities. It’s near enough to walk but down a country lane so better to drive if dark. Lodge was warm, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Sticky toffee pudding and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch.

Just perfect very homely would be good if there a ice tray in freezer for
Sonia from Redditch (19 March 2018)

The lodge we chose, shaun lodge, was the perfect setting for a little weekend break for some r&r. The layout of the lodges is very clever to provide complete privacy whilst out in he hot tubs from your neighbours. I really recommend these lodges, the location for good walks, cycle trails, wine bars, restaurants and pubs is brilliant - although you need a torch to walk back at night.

We had a lovely time at meadow end. The lodges are lovely with everything you need. The onsite staff were very helpful when needed. We were unlucky to be there when the beast of the east hit so we didnt have running water or heating for 3 days but that was no ones fault. Apart from that a great location to explore the lakes

Had a great time, lodge was clean and staff helpful . the kitchen utensils could do with an update ie blunt knifes but other than that perfect!
Mark from Higham Ferrers (26 February 2018)

Lodge was clean but basic. Bed mattress too firm. Log fire was great as was hot tub. Deer walked right past back of lodge one morning. Nothing on the site so car essential . could walk or cycle to cartmel in the summer bit too cold for us in february. Some lovely walks nearby including gummers how and humphreys head. Short break with dog same dog fee as a week break so a bit expensive

We have been to this site before and found it to be in a gorgeous area. We like that it is small and quiet. We have stayed here before and would again however the cabin we had during our last stay was nicer. This time it felt a little tired in places, the bathroom particularly which was disappointing as we "upgraded" cabins from the one last year.

Perfect for a relaxing couples get away. Had some beautiful meals in the near by villages would def go back
Amy from Rotherham (05 February 2018)

Really enjoyed the holiday, the hot tub was the best added touch. Location was fab but very dark walk at night would recommend a torch or a taxi. We received the holiday at a fab price although other seasons seem a lot more expensive. Was surprised how much wasn’t provided when we was there and even a sticky toffee pudding.

We went mid january so although the weather wasn't great, we still managed to get out and about. the village of cartmel is lovely and the walks to surrounding areas very picturesque (even with snow/rain!). . the lodges themselves are well equipped with everything you need. they're warm and cosy, especially in winter if you get the log fire going. . . staff were great - greeted on arrival so any questions we had could be quickly answered and we ordered some logs which got delivered to our door on arrival too! . . all in all a great little holiday/break in a beautiful lodge, with fab surroundings.

Upon arrival we were greeted by kevin who was extremely helpful right from the start with recommendations of dog walking routes, places to go and things to do during our short stay. We stayed in ryeland lodge which is dog friendly and even had a hose pipe at the back next to the jacuzzi to wash down our muddy dog. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, less than a mile walk into cartmel and walking distance to one of the local shops to fulfil our bacon supply needs. We even tried to book an extra night but unfortunaley it was fully booked which was a shame but completely understandable. Overall a very relaxing holiday in a lovely resort. The only minor recommended improvement was that the jacuzzi didn’t have a roof canopy which was quite annoying in the middle of a hail storm. Adam & hannah
Adam from Tottington (19 January 2018)

We stayed at romney lodge for 4 nights. The warden was very helpful and friendly on arrival and said if there was anything we needed, just ring him. The lodge was fine overall. The kitchen was well equipped, the heating was brilliant, the bathroom was a little tired and could maybe be spruced up a little. The bedroom was fine. The circular mat beside the sofa could have done with a shampoo. The hot tub was spot on and the grounds were well kept and attractive.

Due to illness we had to return early but everything was a very good standard
Stephen from Wakefield (12 January 2018)

The place and cottage was nice , when we arrived it was extremely cold and no heating was on, the lady said the heating engineer must have turned it off and apologised but also said it normally comes on at 4, we book in at 4 so the heating needed to be in much earlier
Karen from Stockport (12 January 2018)

We went to meadows end lodge for new year 2016 too and absolutely loved it, hence our new year visit in 2017. The lodge is getting somewhat dated. The shower room was very foisty smelling and the grout on the tiles on the floor were all very black. They needed a good bleach & scrub. The utensils are very minimal - literally enough for 2 people, which is fair enough, there are only 2 of us, but you are for ever washing glasses and cutlery. The whole lodge needs a good spruce up. The rug in the living room was dirty in 2016 & has not been replaced or cleaned so was filthy. . the lodge itself is absolutely perfect for 2 people and the location for cartmel village is brilliant. We would love to book for next year, but feel it wont have had the attention required therefore we will not be.
Joanne (03 January 2018)

Our lodge was beautiful and clean. The staff were helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Had a great stay at meadows end lodge. The lodge itself was spotlessly clean and was really well equipped with everything you could need. Great surroundings and a easy walk into the village. The hot tub and log burner were great.
Christine from Liverpool (18 December 2017)

Excellent really enjoyed it and will definitely be going back if possible
Daniel (18 December 2017)

The lodge and it’s surroundings were perfect. The lodge was well equipped and had everything we needed. It was lovely and warm and cosy and we didn’t really need to light the log burner but we did because it added to the ambience. The hot tub was superb and had plenty of use despite the cold weather ! cartmel is a short walk along the road and well worth it for the famous puddings and great range of tea rooms and places to eat. Would definitely recommend
