A quiet, small site visited in mid season; a car required unless bicycle users or active walkers (though narrow country roads make this less attractive an option). the site, apart from our final day when foxes had spread rubbish including glass bottles over the roadway, is clean and tidy. There is a large grass meadow for children to play in and the shingle beach forms one boundary. A lovely country park with play area forms the eastern boundary. Islanders are very friendly and there is a splendid choice of restaurants and pubs offering fresh seafood and classics well cooked. Apart from Mersea Barns (excellent breakfast and brunch food), these are in West Mersea. Our party consisted of two retired active couples and the situation in East Mersea suited us. We would certainly choose it again over the sites in busier West Mersea. However, the whole island is charming and very worth a visit.

Small park but clean, quiet and ideal for a short break

This is a small well looked after holiday park. It was very quiet when we were there early May. The pool and bar shut at 4 but we didn’t use them. It’s a wonderful place to go with a dog. You can get straight onto the beach or into the nature reserve from the park so lots of good walks. The caravan was spotless. The staff were helpful. Really enjoyed it.

Lovely and clean holiday park. Swimming pool temperature was perfect for our little one but no changing facilities for babies, had to change her on the sink! Lifeguards, check in staff and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Caravan was clean on arrival (bedrooms quite tiny, nowhere to put a travel cot) but living area was big enough for 6 adults. Location was good for coastal walks and dog walking! No entertainment on while we were there but it was very quiet and out of season We had a lovely time!

Caravan very nice spacious but Not for a family with children not alot to do on site. Picture on booking are very deceiving. Soft play was 35 minutes drive.

We went for a weekend break, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the site was maintained very well and looked lovely even in March. The clubhouse is small but ideal for drinks, we didn't get to use the pool due to being out of season but it looked nice. Would recommend and will definitely go again. Mersea Island was lovely.

This is a little gem! I booked last minute for a few days with my adult daughter along with our very bouncy Cockapoo. Having never been to the East coast I wasn’t sure what to expect. We arrived late so collected our key from the box - hence I can’t comment on the staff nor the facilities as it as out of season but the caravan was lovely, clean and warm with a welcome pack for the dog which was super handy. The site was immaculate and the walks on the beach and at the nearby country park were great. We walked to West Mersea with its colourful huts and our cream tea at the Oyster gallery was delicious. I plan to come back in the spring and try out the ferry to Brightlingsea! It was a really lovely few days and even the sun shone on us at the harbour in West Mersea!

We stayed 16th Feb 3 night and there was nothing open no pool no facilities. Club house open at 4pm but builders working on the entrance mud everywhere. We had 2 grandchildren with us we were not told nothing was open. Caravan was excellent and the site itself was clean but WiFi was touch and go!!! I would not go back again sadly felt we should of been told nothing was open ud83dude42

We stayed in a superior caravan which was clean & tidy. We came for the weekend of February half term so was expecting some entertainment to be on for our 8 year old. We was disappointed the swimming oool wasn’t open or there any form of entertainment on at all including the arcades also. That’s one of the reasons for booking this site as we thought there would be more going on there or facilities which would be open. Just a little disappointed. The plus side was it being on the beach front, so would be much nicer in the summer we thought.

Parking next to the accommodation in the mud, skidding every time when parking or leaving, wellington maybe needed. Swimming pool closed, only 3G coverage, paying wifi and very faint signal, 32 tv with only freeview channel, unable to use my subscription tv. Location and staff are lovely

Great place, secure and posh looking, each caravan is clean and very spacious, the whole complex has a big and open design if anyone is going to mersea island for a trip definitely book this place, if your not satisfied (which you will be) then look around and see what the other places look like, you'll understand what I mean.Sea a very short walk or drive away still within grounds about 100meters away.Caravans are so nice instead and cleaned to a very high standard, I cannot fault this place at all will definitely be coming back next year.Only issue is the Strood at high tide cuts off the island for a couple of hours but that's all.

A lovely location on Mersea Island, so close to the beach. Very impressed with the luxury caravan, it was immaculate and so well equipped, better than expected.

We booked a luxury caravan and a super deluxe for a family get-together. They were both excellent, immaculately clean and really well equipped, we were very impressed. Our son and family took their little dog and were really pleased with the doggy gift. The location was really lovely, close to the beach and we took beautiful photos of the sunset. Had a superb weekend.

Caravan was nice and clean, not worn or tired. The park is well kept and laid out nicely. This site is more suitable for caravan owners, not for a holiday. But if you are looking for a base on Mersea that is quiet and comfortable this site is ideal.

Caravan was filthy dirty, bed mites in the bed and my wife got covered in bites. Dirty dark brown patches on the carpet. This was meant to be a gold caravan I wouldn’t let my dog Daley night something so dirty.

Lovely quiet site, close to the beach. Spot on for a bit of R&R. Easy to get to.

Lovely stay here the last week of the summer holidays.
Fantastic location, lovely beach and the caravan was spotless and had everything we needed for the week.
Swimming pool was great and easy to book, my kids loved it.
Shame there wasn't more going on in the evenings.
Overall a great holiday and will definitely book again.

A lovely spot for a rural holiday, beach on site, nature reserve 5 mins away by foot with fabulous playground for older children. Lovely small indoor swimming pool. NB. Not for those that want constant entertainment. Lovely family feel to the site where everyone are really friendly.

Lovely site and staff, caravan for a superior was lacking a few basics like a grill pan, cooking utensils and the bedding for sofa bed, as only stayed 2 nights wasn’t a bother but may have been for a wk, lovely and clean and great to be by the beach

Mersea Island holiday park is situated in a fabulous location with it's own private beach, myself and my husband had a short break with my two Grandsons they absolutely loved it. We were disappointed that our caravan wasn't ready until 4.30pm, this caused problems as my husband doesn't swim and we has booked a session for 4.00pm. We noticed that late check outs are available at a cost, which is great but not for the people checking in when the cleaners haven't had time to clean the accommodation ready for the new arrivals. My Grandsons adored the swimming pool, booking a slot was very straightforward and we fitted in 3 swimming sessions on 24 hours. The lifeguard was excellent, my Grandson swallowed quite a lot of water in one of our sessions and he immediately asked if he was alright, which he was. We visited the adjoining country park which was great with a fabulous kids play area.

Lovely welcome box with a few essentials in.
The only thing is the WiFi is really bad.
