These are the reviews for Looe Bay. There are 46 reviews.

Looe bay is in a great position to visit looe and other harbours, with lovely walks in all directions. Static caravan was great and clean, I had the duchy. We had a very sunny week so made everything seem better. The staff were all helpful, can't really fault them. The only problem was bar shut at 10.30, probably because out of season
from Tiverton (04 July 2024)

Excellent break over a weekend. Caravan spacious and clean. Good quiet site near the beach and other tourist locations
(03 July 2024)

Had a great time, great weather and good facilities
(03 July 2024)

The hoilday was great, but we didn’t used any off the facilities apart from the shop and we went to the cafe once. I have just couple off bad things to say, I came with my family on holiday and my sister booked 3 caravans but my caravan was on the other side of the park and they was next to each, it wasn’t because of dogs because we all had dogs, so when I went to the shop I couldn’t leave my puppy in the caravan but there were no where to tie him up out said the shop you can take dogs into the all of the other facilities ( cafe pub ect ) but not the shop so had to walk about half an hour to my mums caravan and than walk to the shop and than back again to pick up my dog if you don’t want them to come in why not lets us carry our dogs or but something to tie them up to as it hard for people who come on their own also their sloop ice cream wasn’t open at the end of June
(03 July 2024)

We spent absolutely amazing 5 days! The caravan was very clean, modern and with everything you need. Swimming pool quite big and clean, free but for booking, which is great as didn’t have too many people at once. We love it ! I definitely planing to come back !
from Southampton (01 July 2024)

We stayed in a lovely caravan but the pillows on the bed were almost non existing as they we so flat. The shower water was so hot it burnt our bodies & feet. We had to have washes in the sink. We reported this twice only to be confronted by rude ignorant staff ..who said they had no other complaints. As a result of this boiling hot water I slipped in the shower trying to get out & had a bad fall ..hurting my left him leg & arm ..resulting in pain & bruises again this was reported via voice mail. As I didn't want to be confronted by rude staff again ...surprise!! no response..I have always been pleased with hoseasons but not this time!
from Birmingham (30 June 2024)

I stayed for a week , happy with site and caravan was lovely and clean but the restaurant lets it down , ate twice in there first time they bought main meal whilst we was halfway through starter second time was for breakfast 1hr 10 minute wait then when it came beans and hash brown was cold , they had 2 complaints from different customers whilst we was in there , wouldn’t go again
(27 June 2024)

The caravan was as expected, unfortunately we are a tall family, so all the beds were to small, my son is 6’2 and husband 6’7, so sleeping and using the cupboard that housed the toilet was an experience no-one wants to repeat. Also caravan was lacking a tin opener and any sharp knives, you may want to look at sharpening any carving, utility, paring knives etc, it’s more dangerous to use a blunt knife than a sharp one (I’m sure your chef will concur).Lastly, the lack off pool opening times. The fact it only seems to be open in the middle of the day when most people are out is very inconvenient, why are there no evening opening times?Other than that the holiday was pleasant (helped a lot by the sudden good weather).
from Burnham On Sea (25 June 2024)

As a family we really enjoyed Looe, there is a nice mix of shops, cafes and food options including Gluten Free. The beach was fantastic. We went on a boat road, train trip and to the lovely Polperro. I would recommend the area there is so much to do.
(25 June 2024)

Lovely location. Caravan needed updating & a shame towels weren’t included for showering as we travelled by train so taking towels for showers as well as towels for swimming & beach was too much.Lovely friendly helpful staff
(23 June 2024)

The Caravn I booked was nothing like the picture which I saw which led to the reason I booked. The caravan on-line had a sea view but was so disappointed when we got there. The bed wasthe most uncomfortable bed we've ever had, the radiator in the bathroom was disgusting and the fridge was way too small for a week's holiday. The caravan was clean but the view we expected was disappointed, it certainly put a damper on the holiday.
from Swindon (22 June 2024)

We enjoyed our stay the staff were extremely helpful and we would stay there again
(20 June 2024)

We recently spent a delightful holiday at Looe Bay, staying in one of the charming caravans, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the natural beauty of the surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The caravan itself was immaculate and well-appointed, providing all the comforts of home while allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquil setting. We particularly enjoyed the cozy living area and the well-equipped kitchen, which made our stay both comfortable and convenient. The location is simply unbeatable. We loved exploring the picturesque town of Looe, with its quaint shops, lovely beaches, and excellent seafood restaurants. The coastal walks offered breathtaking views and were a highlight of our trip. Being so close to such stunning scenery was a real treat.Overall, our stay at Looe Bay was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of a beautiful setting, comfortable accommodation, and excellent facilities made for a memorable holiday. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend Looe Bay to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
from Leamington Spa (20 June 2024)

The staff in the shop was rude and swimming pool closed on Sunday afternoon and early evening so kids was very disappointed. The soft play area bit run down and smell the damp in they. Crazy golf place needed a revamp . They need to sort swings out as kids could not climb on them without adults help . Arcade staff was bit rude to the children
(19 June 2024)

I've been to Cornwall a number of times but Looe Bay was new to me. The park was a really good size, not too big not too small, they have a great takeaway as the restaurant prices were a bit expensive in my opinion. The town itself is well worth a visit, it's a beautiful place, with lots of shops and great farm shop. We will definitely return.
from Stratford-Upon-Avon (17 June 2024)

Arrived a few minutes before our anticipated arrival time, having driven for 10 hours. This meant I was extremely tired ....Our induction to the site from the person behind the desk was so fast, I had to ask her to slow down and repeat it twice. Wasn't a good start. Apart from that we had a good week.
(17 June 2024)

The site was lovely, the staff were incredibly friendly, we had an issue with the boiler and it was sorted really quick. The only downside was a member of our group had an allergic reaction to something in the caravan and developed a rash, possibly down to what looked like mould on one of the curtains
(16 June 2024)

The caravan was bitterly disappointing, it was dirty, scruffy and in need of redecoration.
(15 June 2024)

2 nd time staying here was lovely. Staff friendly and prime location close to looe town.
from Isle Of Wight (12 June 2024)

Great area to stay but use as a base only as they park is very small, with very basic facilities and skeleton staff. Not much money is spent on entertainment and staff. Food was poor and the wait was very long for a simple order. Caravan was clean and so was the pool area. It was acceptable for what I paid but no more than that. I would not come back to this accommodation but would revisit the area again.
from Bromley (12 June 2024)

I had a great stay at Looe bay. The caravan was spotlessly clean as was the whole park. The staff were polite and friendly. I didn't use the facilities but I'm sure they were good as well. The location was perfect for what I wanted plenty of nice places to see a short drive away. There is a bus stop directly outside the park if that's your preference. The nearest major supermarket is in Liskeard. I would definitely recommend Looe bay and wouldn't hesitate to go back
from London (12 June 2024)

Advertised with ice cream shop, only open on weekends. Dirty/old/worn facilities. Not welcoming
(09 June 2024)

The accommodation when we arrived appeared to be fairly clean, however once unpacking we noticed actually it was not very clean, we had found multiple bits of rubbish from previous guests, crisp packets, used tea bags ect. Having young children the last thing I wanted to do is clean the accommodation before even taking them out, on the topic of having young children my 4 year old had opened one of the bottom cupboards in the kitchen to place in his spiderman plates he had brought which displayed a set of knives, now he knows the danger of sharp knives however my 1.5 year old does not understand and they where removed and put out of reach! The bedding and pillows where stained and dirty. Everything was closed more than it was open on site. The prices in the on site shop where overpriced compared to other holiday parks we have stayed at. We had to leave every time we wanted food as the restaurant was closed every time we had gone, the takeaway was closed tuesday-Thursday and opened back up on Friday after our stay had ended, which I don’t understand because why offer a Monday-Friday holiday when the on-site takeaway is closed! There was an ice cream shop (scoops) that didn’t open once which my son was really looking forward to. The arcade wasn’t too better either there was 1 thing my 1.5 year old could do there and a lot of the machines where down. The surroundings are lovely but the holiday park itself could use work to make it better for family’s really disappointed with my stay at this holiday park and won’t be returning in the future and would not recommend to any other family’s.
(09 June 2024)

Caravan dirty and badly stained
(21 April 2024)

Mud around caravans spoilt the holiday. Culprits appeared to be staff changing gas bottles in trucks. Mud and slope to enter caravan ruined shoes and was an unneeded worry. Oven burnt everything, probably an issue with thermostat. Caravan well equipped and warm, as cold and wet all week. Swimming disappointing as couldn’t book one session even though staying 7 days, had to wait outside in wet and cold, and other guests jumped the queue for non booked, surprisingly only two families in the queue had booked!! Entertainment okay, bar prices high. Restaurant food good. Wouldn’t book here again although Looe was lovely.
(17 April 2024)

We booked a last minute break at Looe Bay and had a wonderful time. The facilities onsite could use with abit of updating and are quite basic but all were functional . We made the most of our stay and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff members including the fantastic entertainment team. We felt very muvh involved and my daughter felt recognised and loved every moment, especially meeting the characters. Location was good beeing a very short drive to the lovely Looe bay and the Monkey Sanctuary, which was also a great afternoon out. Would visit again.
from Portsmouth (17 April 2024)

Run down basic caravan, windows didn’t shut properly, towel radiator was hanging off the wall and one of the gas rings didn’t work in the hob. Very muddy with no paved pathways to caravan. You couldn’t park your car near the caravans which was difficult for loading and unloading. Swimming pool facilities are small and basic, only the changing rooms and two showers….. No family changing area! There were dirty and unclean. We didn’t attend evening entertainment so can’t pass comment. Small arcade and bar area seemed well attended. Great location with a nice chippy down the road. A mile from Millendreath beach but wouldn’t recommend walking as a single track road.Probably much more pleasant in the summer months.
(16 April 2024)

I do enjoy visiting this park, just outside Looe. It is always clean and tidy and has most things you need. The shop is well stocked, the swimming pool is a good size and there is a bus stop right outside the entrance.
(15 April 2024)

Excellent value for money. Caravan was well equipped and very clean. Facilities on site very good, shop, bar, pool and groundsall well maintained. Staff polite and cheerful.Bus stop outside camp ideal for Looe and Polperro.Only down was Restaurant needs improving, understaffedlong time getting food. Twice items missing off plate but quickly rectified. Slightly overpriced.Overall an excellent four night break in April.Would come back again.
(15 April 2024)

Very gopd holiday
from Rushden (10 April 2024)

The caravan was clean but the park its self very dated and run down. Pool was nice enough but the crazy golf and tennis courts were very poorly looked after. I didn’t see anyone use the crazy golf. Staff in reception were quite rude when we arrived to be honest. Millendreath is nice and a few mins drive away. Looe is busy! Evening entertainment was a lottery as the info on the screen didn’t match the timings and didn’t tell you anything about what the acts actually were! Activities were very over priced. Often £8-10 per half hour and with 3 children that is un achievable for many
(10 April 2024)

We had a brilliant holiday here, we were on top of the hill, near all the facilities, not sure I’d want to be down the bottom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were all spotless.
from Sheerness (08 April 2024)

Family of 5, 2 adults, 3 year old and 1 year old twins. We visited 1st week of April 2024. On arrival we found the staff polite and helpful, our 8 birth caravan was modern, clean and a great set up. We had an issue with mud outside the caravan but with the rainy weather couldn’t be helped. The pool is a good size but not much of a shallow end for younger children like ours. Entertainment started at 5ish which was great for the ages of our children and the soft play was a good size for them too. Close to looe and Millendreath Beach.
from Salisbury (07 April 2024)

We had a holiday booked leaving on April 1st to Friday the 5th of April 2024 at your Looe Bay park, however we left on the 3rd of April after having a very stressful stay, the first thing to mention is i called Hoseasons directly to book as online this is what is says to do if you have mobility problems, so i called and spoke to agent and explained that i didn't need a wheelchair accessible but i did need something that was accessible as i have a ankle that dislocates, i was advised that there was 3 steps to the caravans so we decided to book, as he said he would put a note advising that i needed a caravan that was Acessible, he then said that this would be sent through the Looe bay, i have attached lots of of pictures so you can see what we had to deal with, we arrive at the site after being told there would be parking opposite the van (there was not) we were met with just a mess all other vans had a pathway directly to the pavement but the one we stayed in which was number 2 did not there was no safe path to the steps, it was extremly dangerous for anyone, our daughters were slipping everywhere my husband slipped while carrying his ventilator and i was in a very tough position trying to get in, then when we did enter the caravan it was terrible it stank really bad, it had dirt and dust everyehere two of the duvets had mud and dirt all over them, when i complained and aksed if there was anything they could do they said they would bring new duvets which were again dirty, and i told them about my acessibility need and nothing was done. we booked this [holiday as 4 weeks agao i had suregery and we all needed a break and quite frankly i wish we hadnt bothered. sofa was incredibly dirty and stained, it had also collapsed in the middle2. the cushions were dirty and stained3. no mop (considering where the caravan is this is unbelievable)4. dirt in the shower5. no parking opposite when we were told there was6. cutlery was dirty7.radiator had dirt in it8 under one of the mattresses there was a a large piece of wood that had been left there9. dirt in the walls.
(07 April 2024)

Been to Looe Bay a few times and this was the worst stay ever!Camp site was just a mud/bog, they really could have done more to help, maybe putting a few stepping stones to the caravans where it was very muddy. Would have helped instead if cutting the grass during our stay making it worse. We ended up having to go out and buy boots the site was that bad and not great when you have dogs, we had to carry them across the grass areas to the roads for them to walk or it meant having to wash their feet each time and live in a muddy caravan for our stay. The caravan was dated and had to report a few issues with it.Don’t feel like we got value for money as the caravan was not up to scratch and the site felt run down and old.Looe is a beautiful town and easy to get to from the site and that’s the only positive about my stay this time.
(07 April 2024)

The holiday was poor due really to bad weather all week. As there are no pathways to the caravans (which you would think would be done out of season) I was annoyed at having to clean up mud everyday and site looking like a swamp. Most of the machines in club house has signs Out Of Service. We are late checking out due to my diabetes and cleaning staff were just rude. I have booked to come back again in July but I am trying to change to another park ud83dude15
from Bristol (07 April 2024)

It was a well positioned site
from Stafford (31 March 2024)

Because there was no hard standing for cars by van just grass (ours had a few stones thrown on ground) the weather being wet that time of year the cars sank in and dug up the grass ---- there were deep tire marks 6-8 inches dep outside most the vans and in front of most the vans the one opposite us was sprayed up the side with mud where a car had obviously drove in or out got stuck and sprayed up the mud. Also there was no door mat so the van got covered each time you went in from the outside. This is the only holiday park we have been to that doesn't have hard standing for cars by your van and we have been to many all over UK.campsite location lovely, staff friendly nice people, campsite in wet weather a nightmare.we left after two days that bad, in summer with dry ground would be nice but in wet weather not good.
(28 March 2024)

Worst holiday ever. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Turned up to a total mud bath...you most certainly can't blame the mud bath on this year's weather you should have made the site more user friendly and put in adequate ground works if you want to keep selling holidays there throughout the year. We couldn't get in the caravan for mud so we're offered an upgrade...good job we viewed the caravan before we paid MORE money!!!! It absolutely stunk of wet dog. I can see from previous reviews that you have been having these problems for quite a few seasons and still continue to rent out muddy, smelly caravans. There was nothing else available on site so we had to walk away WITHOUT even any refund. DISGUSTED..
from Uttoxeter (27 March 2024)

This would be fine if guaranteed the weather as lovely location. Shame you have to walk across a grass field to get to the caravans as soon became waterlogged with the rain. It was dangerous as fell over several times so would benefit from proper access ways. Never stayed anywhere like this which we’ve stayed in plenty over many years. This resulted in mud being taken into a caravan and footwear/clothing ruined. The staff were dismissive of this oh nothing we can do. It’s only mud.The restaurant was poor quality food and items missing from the mixed grill but expensive and 10p size piece of chicken was insulting with French fries not chips and the whole meal over cooked after a 45 minute wait. If have mobility issues this isn’t ideal or for younger families. Many were having the same issues.
(26 March 2024)

Mud everywhere, why are there no paths between the vans? Slip sliding everytime you go out. Its absolutely ridiculous to expect people to carry bags etc across the mud. The staff use a small jeep to get around and this churns the mud up even more. Its impossible to keep the vans clean inside. It's not a site I'd recommend and I certainly wouldn't stay there again.
(24 March 2024)

Had a fantastic time in looe and would definitely come back. A central location which made it easy to visit a number of pretty locations. Very friendly staff.Loved looe
from Worcester (24 March 2024)

Stayed at Looe Bay 8-11 March to celebrate my 65th Birthday. Reception staff pleasant gold caravan lovely like new. Clubgood but restaurant prices very expensive for a caravan park and drinks in bar.But one major problem at Looe Bay is the route to your caravan from site road, no safe walking no paving just grass and mud! On Saturday back to caravan from day out slipped on the muddy grass ended up on my back banging my head, managed to get up down again once again banging my head. Man came out of another caravan to help he went down too. Camp is dangerous it needs paving to caravans. I did report to reception, came homewith back and rib pains thanks. Would not return for these reasons.
from Southampton (15 March 2024)

The caravan itself was pretty clean but did smell a bit like stale smoke. The facilities we're good in general, though book swimming as soon as you arrive as this was booked up quickly. Short distance to the beach and Looe itself if definitely worth a visit!

Stayed Friday to Monday. Very nice welcome , even presented with a card for our Wedding Anniversary. Caravan was really nice and comfortable. Cannot fault it. Bus stop right outside site entrance for short trip into Looe and Polperro.
from Paignton (13 March 2024)

Caravan was spotless and very modern couldn’t fault it , I went for the pet friendly and it had dog bowls and hooks for leads and coats was lovely.Only done side was the whole holiday park was.a mud bath There is no paths to caravans and you have to wade through mud every time you leave your van.Luckily I had already had wellies in the car otherwise trainers would be ruined and would probably slip over.I’m sure would be a 10/10 camp in the drier months .
