It is in a quiet area so good for sleeping after a hard day walking or touring. We didn’t have a dog but I believe one dog is acceptable in this property. The Snug is decorated to a very high standard. We would be happy to stay at the Snug again if we visit the area again. Mr Charlton (July 2021)
The Snug was very comfortable and nice and clean and modern the towel rail heater in the bathroom didn't come on all week and the weather was rainy and wet so we couldn't dry our bath towels Mr Leigh (July 2021)
There was a hamper full of really helpful goodies so a big thank you to the owners. The cottage is beautifully furnished both inside and out and we had a very enjoyable week Mrs Rossetti (July 2021)
For anyone who has not been to Northumberland . it really is an unknown gem , and within approx 10 minute walk of the property one it’s loveliest bays - beadnell bay & harbour . Mr Skilton (June 2021)
Set in a beautiful village, great base for exploring Northumberland Mrs Tallon (June 2021)
The thought of putting flowers and hampers for us and our doggy was fantastic and very useful. Even an umbrella for the last couple of very wet days!! Mr Glascott (May 2021)
beautiful bungalow very clean and decorated beautifully. Had a lovely welcome pack left for us which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend. Mrs Smurthwaite (April 2021)
area wonderful Mr Turner (April 2021)
Thankyou, will be back Ms Shelton (October 2020)
The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. The welcome pack was a very thoughtful extra and much appreciated. The owners had anticipated the needs of a holiday maker very well. Will definitely be booking again. Mr Stapleton (September 2020)
Angela and Stephen lumb Wakefield The Snug is a perfect little cottage for two bed so comfy everything we needed welcome hamper WOW we were spoiled chocks on the bed treats in the bathroom Susan and Norman you spoiled us thank you it's worth a higher rating when next come to Northumberland this will be our base Mrs Lumb (September 2020)
The car parking space is not next to the cottage but is on a residents car park 25 metres away. Beadnell no longer has a fish and chip shop but does have a reasonably stocked shop. Having read trip advisor about the Caster arms pub restaurant which had several negative reports we decided to try it out. We found the opposite it had a very good system to cope with covid19 we could see no reason to criticise the management. Beadnell bay is ideal for walking and for children the dog recommends the ice cream van at the harbour which he visited almost every day. Mr Ashington (September 2020)
Great for visiting different places in Northumberland. Lovely beach in Beadnell and a lovely pub with good food. Would recommend. Hamper left for us and one for the dog too was a lovely treat. Miss Sykes (August 2020)
The welcome pack left for us was also a very kind gesture. Mr Cole (August 2020)
There was an unexpected welcome hamper in the property which contained all you needed and more. Brilliant location. Mr Borrowdale (August 2020)
Very tastefully done with homely touches everywhere. Everything you could possibly want - home from home - even cling film and kitchen foil in the drawers. A lot of things we took such as kitchen roll were already there. Beautiful hamper for ourselves and one for Willow our dog to welcome us. Very clean - even masks, gloves and sanitiser for us. Loved the conservatory to look out onto the green - a bonus as well when the weather was bad. Would highly recommend and would use again! Mrs Nightingale (August 2020)
We had a welcome hamper on arrival and so did our cocker spaniel jack. Really appreciated. It was jack's first holiday and he loved the garden and grass in front of the bungalow as well as all the walks to lovely beaches - all within easy distance. Great area to visit. The furnishings within the bungalow were great and it was very well equipped. Obviously the owner has taken pride in ensuring great presentation and attention to detail. Due to the covid19 lockdown we were apprehensive about the holiday despite lockdown being eased allowing us to go but we were happy with all the extras measures made by the owners and sykes cottages that had been enforced as regards - cleaning, contact and there was plenty of antibacterial soaps etc. I had also taken my own. Masks had also been left for us. We felt safe and the local pub and restaurant were well organised. It was just the break we needed as my husband is a keyworker and has worked right through the pandemic and was ready for some time out. Bamburgh, Warkworth and Amble are all lovely places and nice beach walks. If you wanted to visit castles etc it was all pre booked online and times given to ensure social distancing but having a dog we had decided we didn't need to visit cadtles or shops etc. It was all about Jack this time. Seahouses and Lower Newton were recommended as being lovely places to visit but they seemed too busy for us as we arrived so maybe another time as we will be back. Great holiday. Mrs Weston (July 2020)
Great location. Welcome pack left by owner was a nice surprise. A fantastic base for a Northumberland holiday. This was our first visit to The Snug but it won't be our last Mr Brown (February 2020)
Welcome pack was amazing for us and our dog really good quality. The Snug is in an excellent position, near to local pubs , shop and beach.we had a lovely week and can’t wait to return Mrs Hague (February 2020)
The owner had thought of everything. Thank you Miss Duell (November 2019)
Lovely walks to beach and great pubs with very tasty food. The snug was very cosy we loved relaxing in the conservatory the only thing we found was too many air fresheners become very overpowering in a small cottage. Mrs Smith (October 2019)
Excellent location re. the beach and local facilities. Wonderful weeks stay. Mr Williams (September 2019)
We were not disappointed. We like cooking in and found there was every utensil and more that we required as well as all the food wraps etc. There was also a lovely welcome hamper for us and for Harry which we all thank you for. Mr Tauber (August 2019)
I can’t fault the description of the cottage as it was spot on and is ideal for a couple. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. It’s in an ideal location for lovely beaches, coastal walks and handy enough to travel a bit further afield by car if you wish. If you don’t want to walk or take car there is an option of using the local bus service. We were there for 7 nights and used a mix of walking and bus to get to and from Seahouses, not too far to drive either to get across to Holy Island. The local pubs had great food and a shop minutes away for essentials. Miss Johnston (August 2019)
We most liked the winter garden and the lovely beaches. Mrs Haverkamp (July 2018)
However the conservatory was lovely to relax in. It was a good base to emplore the ever beautiful Northumberland coast. Mrs Morris (June 2018)
Beautiful part of the country, bungalow just perfect for us. Caster Arms and the Beadnal Towers hotel lovely meals people so friendly. Hope to go back next year. Mrs Wigley (August 2017)
Had a great stay, just a shame the weather wasn't better. But still managed to see quite a few different places. Would recommend this place to stay as it is easy to get to other resorts from there. Mrs Gibson from Rotherham (July 2016)
The Snug was just as described, very suitable for a couple and we were well satisfied. Cottage was in a quiet area and very peaceful. The Snug has an outlook over a grassed area was particularly pleasant. A very comfortable bed, and all facilities required in the cottage were provided. Mr Wilkins from Norwich (June 2016)
