The principal rooms overlook the serene landscaped gardens, while the first and second floor rooms offer far-reaching views across the small seaside town of Swanage, to the sea and coast beyond. The town of Swanage nestles peacefully amidst the beautiful Isle of Purbeck countryside, and is set between the Heads of Durlston and Studland, sloping gently down to the water’s edge. This small pleasant resort has an array of restaurants, interesting shops and a small theatre, not to mention spectacular floral displays in the parks and gardens. In season, pleasure cruisers leave the pier daily, bound for Poole, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight. The Lifeboat Centre at Pervil Point is open to the public and fascinating to visit, whilst Durlston Country Park provides magnificent cliff walks and views of Anvil Point Lighthouse. A trip aboard Swanage’s restored steam railway also makes for a fun day out, winding its way through pretty scenery to the ruins of Corfe Castle. Magnificent coastal walks extend north from the town to the National Trust sandy beaches at Studland while the South West Coastal Path leads to Kimmeridge, Tyneham and West Lulworth in the west, much of which is National Trust land and rich in local flora and fauna. The larger seaside resorts of Poole and Bournemouth are just a ferry ride away, boasting a huge range of shops, theatres, museums, cinemas, and restaurants. The entire coast is excellent for trying out all manner of watersports - windsurfing, water-skiing, yachting and surfing to name just a few. Fantastic property for us to celebrate my mums 90th birthday! Our family group of 13 adults and 2 children , age range 2 to 90 loved the house, the gardens, the inside and 8 bedrooms over 3 floors with every room having its own bathroom.Great dining room and table enabling us all to eat together in traditional setting. Main kitchen was well equipped and additional kitchen had 2 dishwashers , 2 freezers and another fridge which gave us plenty of room which was needed for mega -catering!2 lounge areas which we labelled ‘the reading room’ and the ‘big lounge’ gave us plenty of space to be together or not!Hide and seek both indoors and outdoors was a great favourite with the children! There are quite a few stairs to navigate even for rooms on the first floor but a 90 year old and a 80 year old with a new knee managed perfectly well and there is a ground floor bathroom !Swanage is a great place- so much to do- steam train to Corfe Castle is essential as is fish n chips! Great location, excellent facilities. We were a large group staying in the area for work and the accommodation was ideal for our needs Trusted Customer from Ashford (15 December 2023)
My family and extended family had a wonderful stay at Newton Manor in July 2023. It was in a lovely location and we could easily walk to Swanage seafront in about 15 minutes. There were also nearby shops for food items. The Swanage Railway is less than 10 minutes away and highly recommend and appeals to all the family. We could also easily drive and see the surrounding picturesque Dorset coast. The house itself was very spacious and we cooked there mostly and used the huge dining table so 16 of us could all be seated. The kitchen was well equipped and having 2 dishwashers was so helpful. The rooms are big and had all we needed. There’s a pretty garden with outdoor furniture. So ideal to sit out when it’s sunny. We didn’t have to contact the owner which is always a plus. As nothing went wrong. I can recommend the beautiful house in a lovely location. Trusted Customer from Sutton (05 December 2023)
We had a full house for an early Christmas celebration and loved every minute! Perfect for a getaway with a large group - ample space for everyone, whether they're in the pool room, lounging in front of the fire in the living room, or playing games around the huge dining room table. Our Matthew from Bournemouth (29 November 2023)
Stayed here to celebrate my 30th birthday with 8 friends and we had an amazing time! The house was so big and cosy and had all the necessities we needed for us to have a very enjoyable stay. We spent lots of our time playing pool, cooking meals together in the well-equipped kitchen and lit a few fires in the living room fireplace. Towels and bed linen were very clean. There were two dishwashers which meant very little washing up too! It was only a 15 minute walk to Swanage beach and there was a little convenience store on the way there that we could stop off at to buy provisions. Overall, we had a great time and would love to return in the future. Laura Gardner from Oxford (23 November 2023)
Missing kitchen equipment like corkscrew, matching lids to saucepans, fruit bowls. Heating on very reduced hours. No kindling or fire lighters One dishwasher tablet Welcome tray very disappointing…a bag of white sugar, coffee beans, packet of biscuits. But we still had a great time Customer 6 (22 November 2023)
It is a lovely house and our group of 14 adults had a very comfortable stay in this beautiful property. The little extras like the coffee machine, music speaker, condiments in the kitchen, hand-wash, soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms, were really appreciated. The location was great, easy walk to the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants and the steam railway. The neighbours were also very friendly. Trusted Customer from Oxfordshire (19 October 2023)
