Our hosts Claire and Chris were most welcoming and provided with a host of information about the local area. There 5 acres of land with a menagerie of animals and its focus on wildlife was a delight. David (July 2021)
The owners couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful (without being in any way intrusive). Unfortunately we had to leave a day early for personal reasons but would be delighted to return there in future should the opportunity arise. Roger (July 2021)
We would recommend them to everyone. Susan (June 2021)

Their exemplary care for their guest’s welfare couldn’t be surpassed. Amazing little property. Just right for a relaxing break for two. Glenys (October 2020)
Our hosts Claire and Chris were very welcoming and had provided us with all the ingredients for a cooked breakfast using local produce, such a lovely gesture. The cottage is light and airy, very well appointed and comfortable. It is in a village within walking distance of The Crown at Gissing, a traditional Pub serving excellently kept ales and good food. The local town of Diss is also well worth a visit with lots of interesting shops including very good food stores. We left The Hen House with very happy memories. David (October 2020)
And the cooker was not one of those that you need a degree in IT to operate! The owners were very helpful. Some lovely walks from the Hen House, with a great local pub. Mark (September 2020)

Very clean and comfortable. A lovely courtyard garden at the back of the property. Claire and Chris very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Mrs Portues (July 2020)
The owners were very obliging, nothing was too much trouble and a welcome pack was provided which was a lovely start to the holiday. We are very much looking forward to another holiday there. Mrs Ross (February 2020)
Where the cottage did not meet expectations for us was mainly the heating, I had to ask Chris a few times to come ad turn the heating up as he had the controls, although I can understand his reason for this, I did not think it was good. The heating at this time of year is very important and I felt we should be in control of that. The other point I think is worth mentioning is the oven, it had old fat in the base of the oven and when heated it a bad smell. Regards Peter Mr Dietsch (January 2020)
It's a converted farm building, as the name suggests, which is just right for a couple seeking a break in the countryside. The accommodation is comfortable and contemporary, well-equipped and well furnished. The hosts are on hand to help with any needs of concerns without being intrusive. It is very quiet apart from the occasional train passing nearby (as mentioned in the listing) and it's set in a farm with poultry, geese, and donkeys and some nearby horses as well as local wildlife. The location is not close to anywhere, which may be to your liking, but it doesn't take too long to get out to Diss or Norwich or the southern end of the Broads if you want to go for a drive. A lovely place, commended by this happy couple. Mr Clarke (August 2019)
Met by our charming hostess on arrival. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The cottage was. so clean and a bed to die for. We may well be back again as we greatly enjoyed this part of the country. Mrs Cook (July 2019)
Everything in the let that you needed including ingredients for a cooked breakfasts... Milk tea coffee bread etc. Facilities offered if clothing got wet and location and furnishings excellent. Mrs Bradbury (June 2019)
They left a breakfast pack of bacon, sausage, egg, tomatoes, bread, butter, biscuits which was a lovely surprise. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the horses, cats, and a single duck. The beaches were approximately about an hour away. They had wi fi, which I wasn't expecting. All together a fabulous break. Really lovely couple. Pauline Manchester Mrs Thomas (June 2019)
We have had the best time on our week away in The Hen House. A fantastic greeting set the tone for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Our hosts, Claire and Chris, couldn’t have been more welcoming, providing a cooked breakfast for our first morning there, as well as very helpful hints and tips about travelling around the local area. We were very fortunate to have great weather which meant we saw the absolute best that Norfolk and Suffolk could provide. Picturesque villages are aplenty with wonderful friendly pubs along the way. The Crown at Burston and The Crown at Pulham Market are a must - but you’ll never be short of somewhere to stop for a pint or two. The cottage itself is ideal for a couple looking to kick back and relax - all one one floor makes for easy access with a lovely patio at the back to enjoy a morning coffee. Everything you need for your week away is provided - an extremely comfortable bed, en-suite, comfy couch, well-appointed kitchen and plenty of space. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better holiday, a lovely place to return to after travelling all day to take in the sights. Thank you! We will be back :) Mr Pounder (May 2019)
The owners Claire and Chris were most welcoming a lovely Breakfast pack left for us, most welcome. The area was lovely and quiet. We will certainly be going back. Mrs Crone (May 2019)
Owner was very helpful in turning up pre-set temperatures on radiators, but found bathroom cold with only heated towel rail at intermittent settings. Due to bad weather we cut short our weekend stay. Mrs Mccabe (May 2019)
The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the location was nice and peaceful with plenty of walks and other small towns to explore nearby. One thing to note is that while the owners' mention that a train passes near the property, the cottage itself has good sound insulation and you hardly notice. Mr Sarmiento (April 2019)
On site helpful owners Claire & Chris. Lovely area, easy to get to places with it being central East Anglia. Mrs Ashberry (April 2019)
The hosts were very welcoming. Mrs De Priori (March 2019)
