Great weekend, lovely pubs and friendly locals. We had an amazing Sunday lunch at the Merchant's Yard. We had great cocktails there on the Saturday night too! Just what was needed after a day walking. Mrs Yates (November 2017)
Beautiful cottage with quirky layout. Great location with walks and pubs close to the cottage. We stayed with our 3 year old twins and family. Whilst we found it a little cold when we arrived as soon as we turned the radiators up it was nice and snug. We lovely the open fire and really well equipped kitchen. The welcome book is really helpful for how to work the cottage and also information on local area. Would recommend this cottage and look forward to staying again soon - hopefully in the snow! Eminch601 (November 2017)
The cottage was really well equipped and the location was ideal for us. Very quiet and peaceful. Will be booking again. Mrs Mason (August 2017)
Very clean and well equipped cottage in a good location. Garden and seating outside a real bonus too. Highly recommend a stay here. Mr Byrne (June 2017)
Great location Mr May (March 2017)
Great location Well stocked kitchen Lovely living room Good selection of DVD's if pouring with rain but gladly it wasn't Mr May (March 2017)
A wonderful New Years Break, Tideswell is exactly what we were looking for and the cottage was the perfect retreat. Mrs Rigby from Derby (December 2016)
We had a great time, very comfortable and warm cottage. Would book again. Ms Rogers from Whitby (December 2016)
Great cottage in a perfect location. Easy walk into village with choice of pubs, Butcher, Baker, Grocer - everything you need. Also central to so many walks. A great family weekend Mr Wilding from Halesworth (November 2016)
Spacious but quirky cottage with every amenity. Very well presented. Tideswell is a lovely village and there are shops to cater for all your needs, everyone is very friendly. Great base to explore the Peak Dustrict. Perhaps not suitable for toddlers given the upside down arrangement and steepish steps to garden. There is a stairgate however. Bedrooms are small and we just managed to fit a travel cot into the upstairs double bedroom. Remember to pack a hairdryer...I forgot mine! Sheila C (September 2016)
The cottage was warm and welcoming. The delightful living area on the first floor was very comfortable, and there was plenty of light. We liked Tideswell a lot, it was quiet but with some excellent places to eat and buy provisions. Mrs Brown from Ashford (April 2016)
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we did not want for anything. Stoneycroft is in an excellent location close to amenities, cathedral and pleasant walks. The locals were really welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Mrs Ellis from Sheffield (October 2015)
The cottage has bagfuls of character and we wanted for nothing. The Location is fantastic and Tideswell is perfectly central for local area of interest. Mr Martin from Rochford (August 2015)
We stayed here with family ranging in age from 25 to 76. We were all delighted with the amenities and the overall excellent presentation and cleanliness of the place. It truly is home from home. There is next to no activity in Tideswell so we found ourselves driving out nearly every day. Lots of walks in the area (but only one we could find in the village). The only spoiler for us was the awful weather but that was of course completely out of the owner's control. Babette O (May 2015)
The cottage was amazing. We were 6 adults and two children and we found the cottage spacious and comfortable with plenty of seating for everyone. Everywhere was really clean and it had a lovely homely feel to it. It had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen etc. The cottage was close to all local amenities and was easy to find. We all had a lovely stay and would definitely go back. Miss Ryjord from Cambridge (January 2015)
An excellent home from home cottage, close to all the amenities, and an ideal base for lots of different walks straight from the front door. Had a good standard of furnishing with plenty of equipment. Mr Bolton from Lincoln (September 2014)
Stayed at stoneycroft with family. This is an excellent cottage well equipped with all the comforts of home, plenty of room for eight adults. The cupboard full of condiments is always a bonus, it would be a good idea to make this known, it would save bringing along all those incidentals from home. The cottage is a great location for walking straight from the door and all the village amenities close by. martinb800 (September 2014)
Terrific cottage and a great location. We had a wonderful time. Mr Johnson from Bradford (May 2014)
The cottage was located in the middle of town with good parking available and easy access to the shops. Tideswell is a quaint town with easy access to surrounding areas. There is a good fish and chips shop, nice pubs and a great bakery. It was close to Buxton where you can get the train to Manchester. Mr Riehm from Knoxville (May 2014)
Great location - cottage well recommended. Everything was as it should be and the cottage proved to be an ideal base for another successful walking weekend. The accommodation and facilities provided were very clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend it. Mr Orme from Burton-On-Trent (December 2013)
Had a lovely holiday even though it was very wet. Back exit flooded and had to access utility room from side gate. although this was no great hardship. I think we left place cleaner than it was on arrival but otherwise could not fault the equipment supplied. Kitchen better equipped than at home!!! A FlipKey verified reviewer (October 2013)
Fantastic time in the cottage, just right for the family to celebrate my husbands birthday. The area was perfect, as was the weather. Certainly will be visiting the are again Mrs Taylor from Blackpool (August 2013)
The cottage was set in a lovely village with plenty to do without having to take the car out all the time. Mrs Senior from Hornsea (July 2013)
It was great to be able to go on lovely walks nearby (two were actually from the cottage - 12 kilometres each). Tideswell is a gorgeous village with amazing amenities for its small size, so we were able to pop out to fetch provisions within five minutes, go for a drink or have meals out. Everyone in the village was very friendly! Mrs Hughes from Guildford (March 2013)
Great location for walking from the doorstep. Mr Parry from St. Asaph (November 2012)
Good sized and well maintained cottage with everything we needed for our week's holiday. Great situation in Tideswell with pubs, amenities and countryside on the doorstep. Mr & Mrs Roome from Tunbridge Wells (May 2012)
Set in the lovely village of Tideswell - great local walks. Mr Blom from St. Albans (April 2012)
Stoneycroft was reasonably priced and well equipped. Location was good with easy parking. We would have no hesitation in recommending it. A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2011)
The owner was very friendly and helpful, she made us feel very welcome and special. She also gave us details of some local walks which we enjoyed immensely. Mr Mansfield from Swindon (June 2011)
The location was really good with a lovely village atmosphere and incredible heritage - not over run with gift shops and cafes. A very interesting Church (Cathedral of the Peak), excellent shops for pies, meat, fresh vegetables (looked really fresh) and also a Co-op. A choice of pubs and places to eat. All within walking distance from the accommodation. Features in the 2011 The Peak District, 'Welcome' magazine as one of the 6 villages to be used by BBC TV'. 'Tideswell School of Food is the centre of Taste Tideswell' with Sarah Beany. Mrs Gilman from Shipley (May 2011)
Really well situated for the surrounding area and sights. Really beautiful walks and very dog friendly everywhere. Miss Callow from Christchurch (April 2011)
Really lucky with excellent weather. It was nice to be able to go for walks straight from the cottage without having to go out in the car. Shops and pubs close by and everyone in the village was very pleasant and friendly. Mrs Spooner from Nottingham (April 2011)
The cottage was cosy and warm. Thanks to a visit to the tourist information in Buxton, we discovered the beautiful Goyt Valley. Mr Gentry from Letchworth Garden City (November 2010)
The beautiful Peak District and the lovely village of Tideswell. Excellent local shops and good pubs. Mr Bradshaw from Darlington (August 2010)
We really enjoyed our stay at Stoneycroft. The cottage was very comfortable and nicely presented with everything we could have needed. The cottage also has a lovely private garden to relax in. The village had everything we needed right on our doorstep and was a nice place for an evening stroll. Mrs Helliwell from Halifax (June 2010)
Have stayed in many cottages. This was by far the best. spacious, clean and wel equipped. Great walks even in the snow! Village shop convenient and well stocked. A FlipKey verified reviewer (February 2010)
