The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The lounge would benefit from additional comfortable seating (in our opinion). We found the shower cubicle a little restrictive on size however water flow and temperature worked very well. Bed was very comfortable and lovely views from the accommodation. Happy to go back. Mrs Richardson (August 2021)
Place to relax and recoup very friendly owners Just returned from a week at stalkers cottage a wonderfull place could not ask for more would like to return one day Mr Davies (July 2021)
Dogs were happy , great base to go off and visit lots of places. Only very small detail the facts about recycling rubbish were right at the back of folder and not clear with the other info at the front of folder , so my first lot of rubbish was not done correctly sorry Mrs Willis (July 2021)
Very nice owners. Cottage was tidy, very cosy and comfortable. Welcome pack was very generous. Pub 2 minutes walk, fantastic food. Overall very nice place to stay. Mr Dziuk (July 2021)
The nearest village was 4 miles away. We weren’t happy. There should have been a dog run area and it was rubbish. We were expecting a garden for our puppy to run with outside seating and there was nothing. The kitchen was so small, you could only fit one person in at a time. The fridge was really small, we couldn’t get everything in it. We had to buy a cooler for our stuff. Eating out was expensive. The bed was uncomfortable. We won’t be staying there again Mrs Bostock (June 2021)
Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Mr Palin (May 2021)
Wine, milk, bread, eggs were lovely. Great location. Pub 2 minutes walk, great food. Mr Summerfield (May 2021)
Splendid welcome pack. Mr Wilson (September 2020)
The lounge need another chair for additional comfort too. The front door sticks and is hard to open and close and the bed could do with a topper. Mr Davis (November 2019)
The lounge need another chair for additional comfort too. The front door sticks and is hard to open and close and the bed could do with a topper. On top of this there was a random visitor one night at 11.30 parked directly outside the front door with lights full on and engine running!!! Other than this, the location is good with a great pub a short walk away. Mr Davis (November 2019)
What can I say , quiet and peaceful lifestyle to have , cottage very cosy any time of year, only downfall the water pressure not strong and the shower a bit small to for a average build adult. But over all I would give it 95%/100. jollyjoe20 (September 2019)
And the raddle inn was only 2 mins walk away. Mr Kelly (September 2019)
! Very comfortable and clean Miss Parkinson (August 2019)
The place was spotless we received a lovely welcome package. Ness and Rob were so obliging nothing was too much trouble. Great place to stay and then go out visiting the beautiful countryside, perfect pub just down the road lovely beer garden staff very friendly and food was fantastic. We will definitely be going again Mrs Cooper (July 2019)
Would have been great to have an extra chair to relax in after a long day's walking. Also water pressure was very low in the shower. All other facilities very good indeed. Dr Scott (April 2019)
Nice welcome pack of bread, milk, eggs and dog treats. Mr Robertson (April 2019)
Would have been great to have an extra chair to relax in after a long day's walking. Also water pressure was very low in the shower. All other facilities very good indeed. Very hospitable owners who provided several items of food on arrival and additional eggs from their hens. Dr Scott (April 2019)
In fact when searching using the Sykes website I could not find the cottage. The cottage itself was lovely and in a nice location. The local pub did home cooked food, and plenty of it, so we ate there every day. Cottage owner was friendly and helpful. We would certainly go back again. Mr Walker (October 2018)
Everything you could need and more than I was expecting. The owners were helpful and friendly if needed but never intruded - perfect. Mrs Allen (September 2018)
The friendly owners are there if needed. The situation, if you like solitude, brilliant. In a word 'Great'. Mr Galbraith (August 2018)
Totally recommend it for a relaxing break and slept so well in the extra comfortable bed. The owners were so kind and thoughtful leaving a lovely huge welcome pack with eggs to die for, bread ,butter ,milk ,wine and even treats for our dog . An excellent information pack too with maps and guides . Beautiful location and walks from the cottage - all perfect ! I can say we wanted for nothing - huge thanks to Nessa and family Mr Pryce (August 2018)
The couple who run the cottage Vanessa and Rob. Couldn't do enough for us very friendly and accommodating. The only down side and nothing to do with the accommodation is the roads, the country lanes are very narrow and if like us you have a big vehicle it can be a nightmare. Mr Cooper (June 2018)
Excellent location in the countryside, but not far from large towns. Mr Harvey (November 2017)
The weather was not on our side so it was lovely to have a comfortable place that was well equipped. Our welcome gifts were much appreciated, especially the doggy treats! Miss Robinson (September 2017)
Very clean and tidy with attention paid to detail. It's small but perfect for a couple (and a dog). The owners allow you privacy and provided some little added extras - tea and coffee, bread, eggs (from their own hens) a bottle of wine ..... and more! A perfect place to relax. Mrs Aston (October 2016)
For the price we got for our short break we were very happy. Mr Skinner (September 2016)
They definitely deserve 5* Ms Van Eckert (July 2016)
The owners were lovely and left a welcoming pack of essentials. We were provided with plenty of walking route ideas and maps. But our main reason for choosing the annexe is because they were so dog friendly. Customer 28
We were then met by the very friendly owner Ness, who made us feel very welcome from the word go. Once inside the cottage we found it very comfortable for both us and our Greyhound. The bedroom was cosy with an en-suite shower. The furnishings in the cottage were all of a high standard. There were lots of maps and information guides for the area, which were probably the best we have ever had in any cottage so far, they even gave all the local pubs which were dog friendly in the area, which was a bonus. The views from the cottage were stunning and we enjoyed lots of walks straight from the door. The area has lots of places to visit, being both close to the Peak District and the Staffordshire Moorlands. All in all a very enjoyable short break, we will return as we have not exhausted things to do and see in the area. Customer 29
Helpful owners. Great facilities. Great christmas break. Access road is narrow and could be bad in icy weather but there is ample parking. Top notch service. Thanks very much! Customer 30
