The cottage was excellent cosy very clean and warm with wonderful views. Walks from the door. Will hope to book again . Ms Kelly (September 2017)
The views from the pretty patio are breathtaking. Mr and Mrs Gee are very friendly. Very much a working sheep farm. Mrs Barnes (August 2017)
The cottage was as described and the owner friendly and helpful. Parking was straightforward, excellent patio space with a splendid view. Mr Munday (June 2017)
What a wonderful location. The view was just perfect, and we had the most fantastic time. Mr Cartledge (May 2017)
Comfortable small cottage with everything you need. Wonderful views and many walks you can do from the front door so car not really necessary unless you need to buy provisions. Two pubs that serve food all day within easy walking distance. Definitely intend to come here again. Mrs Bennee from Cambridge (October 2016)
Some shelves and cupboards are high, therefore a small pair of steps would enable shorter people to reach the high shelves, otherwise this is a very cosy cottage with lovely views and a warm welcome from the owners. Mr Musgrave from Street (September 2016)
This is an excellent location in the Hope Valley. Heath Cottage was a delightful place to come back to at the end of each day with a helpful landlady. we would return. Ms Morgan from Enfield (April 2016)
The views were to die for, the peace and quiet was priceless and the cottage was spotless and comfortable; top class all round. Mrs Guest from Hull (March 2016)
Heath Cottage is a really nice cosy cottage in a great setting, just a few minutes walk to Edale village with it's pubs, Plenty of great walks nearby although it can get very busy around Mam Tor. Mr Bantham from Todmorden (February 2016)
The cottage was very well stocked for all your needs and the owner was friendly and helpful. It is also a good base for walks. I would stay there again. Mr Eckhardt from Nottingham (January 2016)
We had an excellent relaxing stay here, the location was brilliant with 2 pubs just up the road and it was in walking distance to all available walks. Would highly recommend this cottage. Mr Freeman from London (June 2015)
I liked this so much that I want to keep it a secret. The end of a lane and a pleasant walk to the Edale Hamlet. Fantastic views of Mam Tor and the associated scarp. We only had to use the car once (we took it to Hope to shop and to walk to Castleton along the river - 30/40 mins). Very good value for money and delightful landlady in the farmhouse next door. Edale has a couple of good restaurants/pubs and is easy walking distance (so you can have a couple of holiday pints!). Lovely terrace to sit on, quiet sleeping. Walkers paradise either up into the hills or around the local lanes and easy footpaths of the Edale valley. Put the kids in the camp site near by and mum and dad can stay here perhaps. We're going back in the winter. Nick A (June 2015)
An excellent cottage, very friendly owners and lovely views. Could not ask for a better location. Mr Edwards from Barnstaple (May 2015)
Friendly owner, clean accommodation, complete kitchen, comfortable bed, cosy sitting area and a great view. What else could you want from a holiday? Mrs Dianat from Nottingham (February 2015)
Great location, clean and comfortable accommodation. Mrs Mccracken from Dundee (October 2014)
One of the best locations in the Peaks. Ideal for observing country life and being within easy reach of attractive country towns and historic attractions. Mr Stewart from Dartford (July 2014)
Very friendly and helpful owners. Lovely location. Mrs Smart from Sudbury (April 2014)
Great location and very friendly owners. All amenities spot on. We recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a nice relaxing break with a pub close by and fantastic walks. Mr Dawn from Nottingham (September 2013)
A lovely clean small but very comfortable place in a stunning setting. Couldn't have wished for anything more A FlipKey verified reviewer (August 2013)
Edale is a beautiful valley, staying on a farm within walking distance was just right. The owner was very friendly and had provided everything we needed, a hot towel rail was a real plus as we had endless rain and needed some pampering. Very well equipped for a couple. Mrs Spicer from Bungay (June 2012)
We liked the fact that we were in the countryside but could walk into the village with ease. We loved the location and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Mrs Lines from Trowbridge (June 2012)
It was a peaceful location with excellent views. It was possible to walk directly to places without needing to drive. Mr Pearson from Southsea (September 2011)
The cottage was very well equiped in all areas. A lovely setting with fantastic views of the Edale hills in the peak district. Close proximity of 2 public houses which both served good food for hill walkers. A great place to escape and have a well earned rest! A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2011)
Lovely, peaceful retreat but very near to lots of places of interest. Lots to do in the area but great to come back to a quiet relaxing place. The owner was very friendly and helpful. All in all a very good week! Mrs Wilkins from London (August 2011)
The cottage was one of four located around a farmyard on a sheep farm. The farm was was within walking distance of two pubs and a small shop. General shopping is in Hope about 5 miles distant. The cottage is in a scenic setting with easy access to walking routes and open access land. The cottage had everything to make a comfortable stay. The owners were attentive without being intrusive. we should recommend a stay at the cottage. A FlipKey verified reviewer (August 2011)
The cottage was great, super views from all windows in the lounge. Very well fitted out with everything you could need for a relaxing break away. Will definitely go back to the farm again. Mrs Wilson from Alcester (July 2011)
The location is scenic, peaceful and close to the facilities. Mr Gaspar from Colchester (June 2011)
The property is on a working farm and in a particularly scenic part of Derbyshire. It was good to see the work involved in sheep farming. The cosy cottage and garden fulfilled all our needs. The owners were very welcoming and sociable. As hill walking was part of the reason for our choice it was good to be able to set off directly from the cottage. Our thanks to our hostess and her husband for sharing their property with us. Mr Greed from Colchester (June 2011)
The setting and those wonderful views. Also, we were able to vacate late and enjoy the last day. Mrs Upson from Lowestoft (March 2011)
The situation of the cottage was perfect with amazing views down the valley. The owner went to the trouble of providing milk in the fridge on arrival and fresh flowers in the lounge and bedroom which were much appreciated. Mrs Morris from Ormskirk (January 2011)
The owners were very friendly and helpful but in no way intrusive. The cottage was very sweet, small but ideal for two. Perfect location for walking and pubs nearby for food. We love the Peak District so this was and ideal spot to explore from. The Edale Valley does get 'the weather' but on rainy days a good book and a lovely view was all that was needed. The Wilde#&39;s (November 2010)
We had a fantastic week the weather was great for the time of the year. It was lovely to sit in the garden with a coffee after a day's walking. Being able to leave the car and walk from the property was good too. Mr & Mrs Kay from Preston (October 2010)
The cottage is in an ideal location - great for walking. Despite being a working farm it was very quiet and peaceful. Owners helpful and friendly. Lovely views from cottage. Mr Wilde from Feltham (September 2010)
When we arrived snow was very deep and we were unable to get our car up the lane that lead to the farm and cottage. We needn't have worried, the owners; John and Sally where there to help us; taking us up to the cottage in their four wheel drive. If that wasn't enough Sally even went out of her way and brought our food supply's from the village some miles away. Just like 'Sykes Cottages', Sally and John were so helpful, we were warm and content and above al; felt entirely safe. A huge thanks to 'Sykes' for making it possible through their friendly Staff, and to John and Sally for making it such a memorable Christmas. Many Thanks. D. Read. A FlipKey verified reviewer (February 2010)
We were happy with the unobtrusive approach of the owners on this working farm. The cottage looked impossibly tiny on the outside but seemed a lot bigger inside and offered everything we needed for a week. The views were extensive and beautiful from the cottage and farmyard and there were wonderful hill walks all round. A short walk took us into leafy Edale with its visitor centre, tiny shop, and two pubs. Unfortunately the nearest pub served up terrible food, and we didn't try the other one. Luckily there were plenty of others to choose from in the area, if you were prepared to drive a short way. A FlipKey verified reviewer (December 2009)
