Standard Lamp in Sitting room would be good. In the main oven, the temp control appeared not to work Apart from that. very comfortable and well-equipped cottage Mrs Farnsworth (May 2017)
A wonderfully equipped cottage with everything you needed. A great base for walking cycling and visits to national trust properties and chatsworth. The owners have thought of everything including lunch boxes and flasks. The wood burner was lovely for the 1 night we needed it. We will return. Beverley F (May 2017)
Beautiful cottage. Wonderfully equipped to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Miss Fay from Sheffield (December 2016)
The little touches really made the place feel like home and was a lovely place to go back to after a day of walking! Miss Heigho from Bedford (November 2016)
A lovely county, super cottage beautiful and very interesting village. Miss Pemble from Sittingbourne (October 2016)
Lovely cottage, tastefully furnished with everything you could need.. Well equipped kitchen and lovely comfy bed - nice bathroom and lovely shower. Next door neighbours both sides lovely and friendly too! Lovely location and all amenities in the village. Sykes come up trumps again! Mrs Ward from Bow Street (September 2016)
Deceptively roomy, this quintessentially English cottage marries countryside charm with modern conveniences. The surprisingly well appointed kitchen will make budding chefs happy and make holiday essentials, such as a 'Full English' an easily achievable task. The sitting room is comfortable and cosy, especially as there is a log burner for those chillier evenings. The bedroom to is both charmingly 'country' as well as clean, comfortable and spacious. For a property of this size the bathroom is positively expansive. A bijou bath may not accommodate 6 footers for a soak, but the large 'rain' shower is bliss. It's the cottage you'll think you'd like to own! MunkeysBear (September 2016)
The rain failed to dampen our holiday experience , the cottage itself was lovely with all the facilities that you could want and very well appointed. It was a pleasure to return to the cottage after a day in the mist. Mr Rust from Norwich (August 2016)
Well equipped cottage for two in Eyam. Good quality presentation. In centre of village and ten mins walk to pub with good food. Good spot for exploring Dales. Quite but convenient. On bus route . Steep stairs. Parking outside is not always available . myfanwy2016 (July 2016)
This is a charming, cosy, comfortable cottage in a delightful village. The décor has been designed and executed with a great deal of taste and flair. The surrounding country side is ideal for walking and full of pleasant surprises. The village history is fascinating and so well explained. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Eyam. Mr Grundy from Coulsdon (June 2016)
Had a fantastic week in this beautiful cottage, we couldn't have wished for better accommodation. The village of Eyam location was excellent. We hope to return one day and have already recommended to friends. Mrs Harrington from Rayleigh (May 2016)
Hawthorn Cottage was a gorgeous little place, in the perfect location to explore the Peak District, we absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave. Miss Pink from Kenilworth (March 2016)
This cottage was amazing; comfortable and luxurious. There was everything we needed on-site and we thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there. We would definitely go again. Ms Sewell-shaw from Nottingham (February 2016)
Hawthorn Cottage was one of the best cottages I have ever used for a holiday. I needed somewhere quiet and intimate, and my needs were well met. I also booked the place, as an artist, in the belief that it would serve my interests in landscape, and the area certainly lived up to my expectations. Mr Allcock from Bradford (January 2016)
A fabulous cottage in a brilliant location. Very peaceful yet within walking distance of essential amenities. I stayed by myself and found the cottage so cosy, it was well decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Sad to leave actually! I would definitely return here and recommend it to anyone wanting a walking/sight seeing holiday in the Peak District. Mr Maloney from Matlock (January 2016)
The property exceeded our expectations and was very relaxing. The village was lovely and there was lots to do within a short drive. Mr Meredith from Birmingham (December 2015)
Hawthorn Cottage was very cosy, welcoming and situated in an attractive location. The wood burner was excellent and the cottage was centrally located with excellent amenities nearby. Mr Atkin (December 2015)
Never stayed in self catering place so well equipped. The whole ambience excellent. Quiet spot, easy parking and located in a beautiful village steeped in history. Mr Harrison from Cowes (October 2015)
outstanding cottage , cosy and warm excellent facilities everything you want for a peaceful break away Kieran M (October 2015)
This cottage is an absolute gem in the heart of the historic village of Eyam. My wife and I believe it is possibly the best cottage experience we have had (and we have been at this for 25 years). The owner has brought this ancient property right up to date and the interior is superb. The kitchen diner is stunning and everything you need is at hand. An outside sitting area at the front was a lovely place to relax and watch the village life, after a full day out and about. We will return to Hawthorn Cottage in the Autumn. Mr Westhorpe from Blackpool (July 2015)
A really lovely little cottage in a peaceful location. An excellent centre for the Peak District. Mr Denning from Hastings (July 2015)
It was a beautiful little cottage it felt welcoming and homely. Very nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. We had a most relaxing stay, thank you. Mrs Austin from Norwich (June 2015)
We really enjoyed the week in Eyam, hopefully will be back. Customer 29
The owners have thought of everything. Coming back to the cottage after a day hiking was a joy. What a lovely little place! Thank you. Customer 30
The amount of amenities provided in the cottage went above and beyond expectations (e.g. a hot water bottle which came in handy!) Customer 31
Thankyou so much to the owners for making the cottage such a homely place to visit, it quite literally felt like a home from home walking in to see milk in the fridge for the tea. We most definitely hope to be back. The parking was very ideal, some people commented on the face they struggled to park, we went out every day at some point and never struggled to park. Customer 32
The cottage is equipped with everything you could think of needing. We arrived to a bottle of milk, tea bags, coffee and biscuits which went down very well after a long drive! The kitchen is fully equipped, even with spices and gravy! Bonus! We stayed Friday to Sunday and the owners were lovely enough to let us stay a little longer than normal check out time because we went on a walk and wanted to leave our things in the cottage. The fire was more than well enough stocked for a couple of days, we took our own logs and ended up leaving them because we hardly used any of them! The bed is super comfy, the shower is amazing. There’s a couple of shops in the village but they don’t have much. There’s a Spar about 5 minutes drive away and is open quite late with a petrol station directly opposite which was perfect. We were lucky enough to see some of the neighbours who were super welcoming to us too. I just wish we were staying longer because it was super stunning. Highly recommended, and if you want a long walk, get to Tideswell and visit the Merchant’s Yard... the food is amazing and the cocktails are even better! Many Thanks to the owners, we hope to be back very soon. Customer 33
The owner(s) have clearly gone to a lot of trouble to make it well equipped and cosy. The only piece of kitchen equipment I would have liked was a steamer - but it was perfectly possible to cope without. A nice touch was the 'starter' supply of tea, coffee etc. Customer 34
Cosy well appointed cottage. Lovely stay. Customer 35
The cottage was warm and comfortable. It was in an area close to walking and cycling trails. Customer 36
Real attention to detail.Very much home from home.Would certainly love to return in the near future. Customer 37
We stayed here just prior to Christmas 2017. The cottage is nicely decorated and furnished and well thought out. The owner has paid considerable attention to detail. For example it was nice to find a Christmas tree when we arrived! The wood burning stove in the lounge was prepped such that a single match got it burning in minutes. That said the central heating meant the cottage was toasty warm on arrival anyway. We were pleasantly surprised how well equipped the kitchen was. For example there was a sharpener to put an edge on the knives, there were electronic kitchen scales and a set of teaspoon/tablespoon measures. There are wine glasses, champagne glasses and a full dinner service. There's a casserole dish, pots, pans. They've thought of everything! In the lounge there are guide books, a welcome pack with details of local pubs and restaurants, a pack of cards, dominoes, jigsaw puzzles and other games. There is parking on the street right in front of the cottage. The Miner's Arms pub is a 10 minute walk and Eyam Hall is 5 minutes away. For real ale drinkers there is a little business at Eyam Hall craft centre selling an excellent selection of bottled local real ales (and a couple of ales on draught) which came in handy. All in all it was very pleasant indeed. Customer 38
When I arrived in Eyam not only was the cottage amazing but so was the people. Eyam is a very historic place so much to learn..you can actually feel the sadness of what the village went through many years ago :( :( Customer 39
We have been twice now to this calming property and enjoyed every moment of our time there. Customer 40
In the main oven, the temp control appeared not to work Apart from that. very comfortable and well-equipped cottage Customer 41
