Mrs Deans from Coventry (January 2017)

A lovely warm, comfortable cottage and ideal for our little dog. Great walks nearby and close to Ruthin town. Bev was a friendly, helpful host who even let our dog out when we went to visit friends. We would definitely stay there again.
Mrs Lawson from Norwich (December 2016)

Lovely holiday accommodation. great walks on the doorstep, beautiful scenery. Very friendly owners, who made me feel very welcome. I will definitely visit again and would recommend this property to anyone and especially dog owners
Mrs Wood from Chesham (November 2016)

Great host made my wife and I very welcome like we had been going for years not first ime
Mr Scowcroft from Glossop (October 2016)

The cottage is accessed by app. 1 mile of single track road with very few passing places, luckily, it is not very busy . There is no DAB signal, and very week phone signal. Wi fi is only in the lounge, but having said all that, this is an ideal place for a quiet get away from it all break, with excellent hosts.
Mr Laidlaw from Paignton (October 2016)

We had a wonderful weeks stay at Dystil. Both Bev and Phil were very welcoming. Were there if needed. The facilities were excellent and with underfloor heating we were never cold. I would recommend this cottage it is a real home from home. So relaxing. Very comfortable bed. We were very lucky with the weather for October. Only had one rainy day. We went to Tweedmill shopping outlet. A lovely place. The scenery is stunning and the roads fairly quiet. Most places are no more than 1 hours drive away making it an excellent base for sight seeing etc. Mobile phone signal is limited but we did manage to get an internet connection. As the cottage is on a country road it was pitch black at night so a strong torch may be a good idea. Would definitely return.
Mrs Waspe from Pudsey (September 2016)

I have filled in the owners comments book in the cottage where I gave a glowing report of our stay there.. The accommodation is first class but the hosts Bev And Phil and there dogs and friendly sheep make the holiday even more enjoyable..

It was lovely, snug and cosy with walks through the woods straight from the door. The beds were extremely comfortable with good pillows so we slept well. Couldn't fault anything at all.
Ms Smith from Wrexham (November 2015)

The property was very spacious with modern fixtures and fittings and finished with excellent taste. The owner was very friendly and informative. The quiet location gave us everything we wanted for a well earned long weekend of rest and recuperation. We would certainly recommend to others.

The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable and the owners welcoming. This one is up there among our Sykes top three! The cottage was remote enough to be very peaceful but was also near some lovely places to visit.

A wonderful property with very helpful owners and a garden to die for.
Mrs Jones (July 2015)

An excellent choice of cottage; warm, comfortable, peaceful and very relaxing. It was well located to tour the north Wales area, it also had walks from the doorstep- ideal for the dogs. The owners were friendly, always on hand when needed and also had a good knowledge of the area. We would recommend this cottage to anyone.

Mrs Riggs from Bournemouth (June 2015)

"We've had the best week imaginable in this wonderful cottage; it really was a home from home. The owners were fantastic hosts and very helpful too. The finishing touches in this cottage were second to none." I can't fault this accommodation in any way whatsoever, it's was beautifully decorated and very well equipped and very warm and cosy with that underfloor heating (which I miss terribly) We will definitely be returning next year.
Mrs Newell from Rotherham (March 2015)

This cottage is absolutely wonderful. Every room was tastefully furnished and so very comfortable. There were so many extra little touches that made our stay so enjoyable. Daisy my brown Labrador especially enjoyed the tray of dog biscuits waiting for her! We relaxed from the moment we arrived Bev and Phil the owners were so very helpful and their beautiful dog Annie and cats Will and Flossy were a joy. Not forgetting the sheep waiting for you at the bottom of the garden! (Behind a fence). It is such a relaxing location and so close to great dog walks where you are more then likely going to be the only ones there. We did not want to leave and will most certainly return. The place is so beautiful and I look forward to returning in the Spring or Summer. Do not hesitate in booking this cottage, it really is outstanding.
sachasal (February 2015)

It was a home from home; beautifully decorated & cared for and the owners have thought of every little detail to make your stay memorable. The owners were a very friendly couple who were on hand if you needed them and gave you space if you didn't. We will definitely be returning.

It was perfect. We loved the accommodation and the peace and tranquillity. It was great for our dogs and they were made very welcome. It was great having the owners on site and they were willing to go the extra mile to make our stay amazing. The visitor book was full of useful tips/places to visit with dogs and relevant information to enhance our holiday. They couldn't have got it more right!
Mrs Hindmarsh from Lewes (August 2014)

Our holiday was made perfect by the welcome we received from the owners, and the cottage itself. It was very comfortable and it allowed us to feel relaxed. The location is ideal for sightseeing, and ease of access. We had a great week and will return if availability is right. This property to my mind is 5 star.

Cosy and comfortable accommodation. The setting was wonderful. All general household items were provided. The kitchen was fabulous. The hosts were very welcoming. Great facilities for the dogs including use of surrounding fields, hosepipe for washing them off and lovely walks near the property.

A very comfortable, spotlessly clean and cosy cottage with an interesting history. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend this cottage.Even thinking about going back next year.
queenvictoria74 (September 2013)

A very cosy and comfortable cottage.
Mrs Charlesworth from Sheffield (August 2013)

Had an amazing week in this beautifully decorated superbly appointed accommodation. The location was so pretty and quiet. Bev, Phil and Annie the dog gave such a warm welcome with a bottle of wine and sweeties. They provided all the little extras that made the holiday perfect. Beautiful walks nearby and many pubs that serve good food. Can't wait to go back!
Rachel G (August 2013)

It is the best cottage we have been in, and the owner Phil and Bev also made us very welcome. You have a gem on your books. It is the best cottage we have ever been in. The owners made us feel very welcome. You have a gem on your books.
Mr Gee from Colne (June 2013)

Perfect base for touring North Wales.
Mr Downie from Hull (June 2013)

The owners Bev & Phil are the most welcoming hosts we have met, nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of dog walks in the adjacent woods and a dog friendly beach at Talacre, which is quite rare these days. The property is very high spec with no expense spared. We really enjoyed our stay and the guest book confirms other visitors did too. The privacy of the property also enhances its location. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again and recommend it fully.
RogerD123 (June 2013)

Absolutely lovely property in stunning surroundings. Dog walkers and explorers paradise. A lovely romantic get away. Would strongly recommend for couples with or without pets. Facilities were excellent, will definitely be returning in the future.

cottage done to a really high standard - owners are also on site and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely quiet location, but only a short drive from shops/pubs/etc. totally recommend thia as a place to stay, would happily visit again
A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2012)

One of the best equipped holiday cottages we have stayed in.The accommodation was excellent and fitted out to a very high standard, the garden was beautiful with a lovely weeping willow and a stream. The owners Bev and Phil who live on the site made us very welcome and thier sheep dog Anne came to greet you when you came back from your days out. Ruthin is a very quaint little country town not far from Chester 25 miles, Llangollen 15 miles, Llandudno 35 miles . The Old Cross Keys at the end of the lane about 10 mins walk serves very good food, it is advisable to book we missed the steak night on the tuesday because they were fully booked
