The cottage is cozy and comfortable with the most amazing views. It is well equipped and is a 'home from home'. Mrs Breeze (October 2017)
There was a warm welcome from Claire and Garry and the family and I had a great week at Curlew Cottage. The cottage was well equipped and the view was amazing. It is highly recommended. Miss Yallop (August 2017)
I'll like to prefer Wifi Not for using the whole day However it's give more comfort. Mr Both (July 2017)
This is a lovely, cosy, comfy cottage in a great & peaceful location to explore the Peak District. It's our 2nd stay here, and we already plan to go back next year. The owners are lovely and there is everything you need for a great stay. Mrs Stubbs (June 2017)
We had an excellent time, the hosts were friendly and welcoming. The cottage was clean, cosy and met all our needs. The views from the cottage were stunning, we had a lovely week and would go again. Mr Smith (May 2017)
Not really. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. We have limited mobility and felt safe apart from one tumble on the gravel which we learnt to negotiate better! Mrs Bolton (April 2017)
The only reason we wouldn't re-book this property is because we would want to discover another area. We feel we have fully covered the immediate area. Mr Miller (March 2017)
Lovely property, beautiful views. Made very welcome by the owners. Will definitely be going back for a holiday. Mrs Crick from Cambridge (October 2016)
This was a beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. The owners were both helpful and friendly, always ready to provide advice and suggestions of places to visit. The fact that I have stated that I would re-book this cottage, says it all. Mr Angus from Gravesend (September 2016)
This was our second visit, so clearly we thought the cottage was OK! Mr Langley from Market Harborough (September 2016)
Beautiful location with outstanding views that you would never tire of. Everything you need in the cottage and close to many interesting places to visit. Miss Stanley from Bromsgrove (August 2016)
We loved our stay at Curlew Cottage. It was peace and quiet. It was so relaxing. Cottage was very comfortable and the owners were lovely. We look forward to returning. Mrs Stubbs from Portsmouth (June 2016)
The location was remote but near enough to many lovely places to visit. The view from the cottage was breathtaking and the wildlife was a real bonus. Mr Harper from Frome (May 2016)
The property was ideal for our needs. A rural setting with fantastic views to enjoy a weekend of exploring the villages and walking the hills. Mr Simmons from Wolverhampton (February 2016)
I am the owner of this cottage and just need to make any potential guests aware that we do not have wifi in the cottage and mobile phone signals can be a bit "hit and miss". I am not sure how we have wifi listed on Trip Advisor as we don't advertise internet access on the Sykes Cottages website and we would hate anyone to be disappointed. Part of our appeal is the peace and quiet of our location and the ability to be virtually non- contactable! Come and enjoy the silence and get away from the rat race. Claire7575 (June 2015)
In a fantastic location with views you would never tire of. Excellent knowledgeable hosts and lots to see and do all within an easy cars drive. Would definitely return. Mr Allston from Norwich (April 2015)
In spite of bad weather we had an excellent holiday. The owners were very nice and we were very surprised and pleased with the cheese and wine ,tea, coffee and milk when we arrived. Mr Butler from Doncaster (January 2015)
We had a lovely few days at Curlew Cottage - wish we could have stayed for longer! We loved the location of the cottage - beautiful views, very quiet and a good base for visiting different parts of the Peak District. The cottage itself was perfect - spacious, beautifully appointed, comfortable and warm. We couldn't have asked for more and have recommended it to family and friends already! Mr Yorke from Nuneaton (January 2015)
Lovely cottage with very welcoming, generous and extremely helpful owners. Lots of walks along the wonderful valleys of the Southern Peak District nearby, combined with staying in a cosy cottage a bit higher up on the moorland. Best of both worlds. Mr Woods from Shipley (December 2014)
Friendly welcome from the owner, the attention to detail in the cottage presentation and the welcome pack of cheese crackers and milk was a nice touch. The location of the cottage and its peaceful situation and wonderful scenery from the windows and decking. Miss Izzard from Northampton (October 2014)
Curlew Cottage exceeded our expectations in almost every aspect. It was extremely well equipped in the kitchen area, with even tea, coffee, milk etc supplied. Complete comfort in the lounge area and bedroom. The bathroom was also more than adequate. To add to all this the views that this cottage's location gives and its total sense of tranquility are hard to beat.Top marks to the owners! Mr Buchheister from Colchester (September 2014)
Great location, Curlew Cottage was well equipped with fantastic views all around. Enjoyed the local village pubs and tea shops, biking trails and walking, also made good use of National Trust membership. Mrs Atkins from Sevenoaks (August 2014)
Lovely cottage clean and comfortable, well equipped with everything you need. Warm friendly greeting from the family. Good centre for touring the Peak District. Lovely pubs serving delicious food a short drive away. Several cycle trails on disused railway lines for safe cycling. To top it all we had beautiful weather during our stay an extra bonus. A FlipKey verified reviewer (August 2014)
Beautiful setting for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful part of the Peak District. Plenty of places to visit not too far away, so a good base for a holiday or short break. Friendly owners that were there if you needed them. Mrs Butterfield from Worthing (June 2014)
The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. Wonderful hosts who were helpful and responsive when needed. There was so much we would have liked to do in the area, just not enough time for all that was available. We hope to be able to return to the area and to Curlew cottage. Just perfect! Mrs Malpus from Markdale (May 2014)
Great to find a property specifically for a couple at a comparable price. There was nothing lacking whatsoever making our week's stay there perfect. The cottage was comfortable, cosy and extremely peaceful but within easy reach of shops and other facilities. Mr Lumsden from Forfar (April 2014)
This was a lovely cottage for two people with everything we needed. It was well furnished and equipped. The cottage was warm and cosy with beautiful views out over the Derbyshire countryside. This is an excellent base for walking and access to local tourist attractions. Mrs Main from Stafford (March 2014)
