The central heating was on a timer operated from the owners side of the property with no other form of heating in the cottage that we could turn on as required. No oven cloth which presented a risk getting things out of the oven. No mention was made that the exit from the property was on a bend and therefore was difficult at times exiting. Other than that it was a lovely location and we very much enjoyed the area and would go back to the same cottage again. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the fishing in the canal but would add that we did contact the local fishing association and the secretary was was extremely helpful when he purchased the permit even providing bait for him to use, my husband also had a rod licence which he obtained prior to travelling and would recommend anyone wanting to fish do so. Mrs Giles from Colchester (October 2016)

Excellent property, very well equipped, comfortable and owners consider all needs of visitors, including provision of milk, wine and flowers. As stated in the description of the property, it is situated on a very busy main road, therefore, it is noisy, both during the day and night. However, the proximity to local places of interest is excellent and its situation on the tow path of the Leeds / Liverpool canal is delightful and the scenery is breathtaking. Mr Galbraith from Maidstone (July 2016)
The part I loved best was looking out of the window at the antics of the sheep in the fields, plus the lovely walks from the door along the canal were brilliant. Mrs Simpson from King'S Lynn (June 2016)
This house is right on the Leeds to Liverpool canal and is fantastic for walking along the canal path into Skipton. The owner had left fresh flowers, milk, tea, coffee and a nice bottle of wine which was a lovely thought. The views are fantastic and the accommodation very clean and cosy and parking for 2 cars. The property is on a very busy A road and although the property has got secondary glazed windows it can very loud, in the double bedroom there is a round window that is only double glazed so the owners supply a big pillow put in the hole to help with the noise, we did not find this helped at all so sleeping could be a problem. There are some steps up to the door, the stones were very lose and when you stepped on them they flipped up. The property would not suite people with physical disabilities because of the access to the door and the stairs in the property. We enjoyed our stay at the Craven Forge and would recommend it . Happyhols46 (March 2016)
The cottage was decorated and furnished to an excellent standard, with lovely personal touches. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Mrs Pugh from Liverpool (August 2015)
A comfortable cosy cottage in a good position for touring the dales. Mrs Johnson from Wallasey (April 2015)
We were using this property to stay in while our new house was ready for occupation. It is very comfortable and well furnished. The views are amazing with wonderful sunsets and lovely walks along the canal. The owner was extremely pleasant and accommodating/helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this property to stay in. Mrs Langstaff from Keighley (July 2014)
I loved the property, thank you! We will come again! Miss Wilkinson from Dereham (April 2014)
The rural setting was great. Convenient for touring, cosy and warm. Friendliness and hospitality of the owner. Mr Parkes from Sandy (April 2014)
