Lovely flat , set among farm land and great grounds and views. Ideal location for getting out and about touring around the very scenic countryside. Chirk Castle is a great trip out. Mr Kennedy (August 2017)
We stayed in the Cook's flat for four nights during half term week. My husband and I were delighted with our visit from start to finish. The flat itself is well decorated and has all the amenities that you could need for a short break. I loved the open fire which we used every night even though the weather didn't really call for it! There are some lovely national trust properties nearby. We also managed a trip to Snowdonia (and climbed Snowdon). It was about an hour and a half drive but was well worth the trip. Cheshire Oaks shopping is nearby, as is the great city of Chester. A great place to base yourself. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back! LesleyOK (June 2017)
We stayed here over a May bank holiday weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The flat is located in a wing of this country home on the Cefn Park estate near to Wrexham. The facilities in the flat are great and, whilst we didn't use the log fire (it was reasonably warm for a UK bank holiday!) we could imagine that it would be really cosy for a winter break. The grounds are fantastic and well kept with some really nice walks around the site and plenty to look at. There were some horses, chickens and baby lambs in the fields and plenty of places to throw down a picnic basket and cool box with a few cold beers. We also made use of the games room with its full size snooker table (although this could do with some TLC as the baize has some tears in it). The room also contains a couple of hundred old vinyl records and vintage country homes magazines which sent us both on a nostalgia trip! Whilst there's very little of interest in the immediate vicinity (unless you want to go shopping in Wrexham) there's plenty of places to visit within reasonable driving distance. We went to the impressive Chirk Castle which is magnificent and, a little further afield Portmeirion on the North Wales coast which was simply fantastic- well worth the drive! There's also the Snowdonia national park and Chester within an easy commute. Definitely recommend.... KorkyManchesterUK (May 2017)
The cooks flat offers more than the average stay. The superb grounds, and a feeling of belonging to the Manor House made it a lovely , magical stay. The family are very approachable and friendly . A very good location:) Ms Baird from Worksop (December 2016)
We loved being able to enjoy the estate property from the well marked footpaths. The owner stopped by to chat and check in with us. Everything in the flat was just spotless, and we slept in great comfort each night. The location couldn't be better for the long list of sites to visit! We highly recommend Cook's Flat! Mrs Blyckert from Eveleth (October 2016)
This is a peaceful retreat in a beautiful area. It is in an excellent position to visit many areas including Snowdonia and Chester. The property was very well equipped and lovely and quiet and what a beautiful estate! It was well worth exploring. Ms Nicklin from Nottingham (April 2016)
Loved everything. It was strange to come and go without seeing anybody but that makes it a perfect hideaway. Definitely would go back and recommend to others. The décor was beautiful, would happily decorate my own house like this. Mr Gough from Peterborough (August 2015)
Very peaceful location, the property was well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Easy access to National Trust properties and local towns. A cosy retreat for two. Mrs Jordin from Thornton-Cleveleys (July 2015)

A wonderful stay in a beautiful flat! Mrs Denning from Cardiff (February 2015)
The décor and furnishings are stylish and comfortable, with a lovely log fire to relax in front of in the evening. The flat is in a peaceful location and just a short drive to some great pubs and Wrexham shopping centre. Mrs Nicholls from Sheffield (January 2015)

If you are a couple looking for a romantic retreat with peaceful, comfortable, very clean accommodation and you enjoy an open fire after hours of countryside walks and picnics on the 1000 acre estate, then this is the ideal place to come. We enjoyed our two week stay so much, that we returned and stayed in the Butlers flat as well. A FlipKey verified reviewer (August 2014)

A perfect place to relax and catch up with old friends. The hosts were very friendly & hospitable, would have no problem recommending this apartment. Mr Clark from Dingwall (May 2014)
The accommodation was a very peaceful, relaxing and comfortable retreat. After several walks and picnics in the massive beautiful grounds, which you could easily get lost in, you had a lovely open fire or the games room with a full size snooker table to look forward to on your return. The owners made us feel very welcome and were keen that we enjoyed our stay. Mr Rogers from Orpington (May 2014)
Tucked away in the annex to a large private property which is located in large grounds that are a credit to the owners This flat is in an ideal location to visit Chester and North Wales. Fixtures and fittings are all great quality and there are a number of finishing touches that make this one special. Ideal for any couple who want to get away from it all for a few days or would even recommend to anyone 'on business' in the area. A real home from home. sonic35362016 (April 2014)
The property owners were very approachable. Quiet, country-like, living within a stone's throw of Wrexham. Mr Loveluck from Powell River (March 2014)
A tasteful apartment, steeped in history on a lovely estate. The added bonus of a games room downstairs was great fun. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from a busy life for a weekend. Mr Cooper from Chester (February 2014)
The flat was very comfortable, and tastefully decorated. It was well situated for good walking, and lots to see and do. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. It was great to have access to the grounds of the park; particularly the woods in wonderful autumn colours. Mrs Foster from Woking (November 2013)
