A beautiful cottage in a. beautiful, and quiet location, we had a great stay Ms Rees (November 2017)
We Had a great week, thanks, oh and the dog loved it as well ;) Mr Gadd (September 2017)
We booked this cottage 'blind' with no recommendations but are so glad we did! A quaint cottage, well equipped and dog friendly. Our dog loved it too! Looking forward to returning again in September. Thanks again it was just what we needed, piece and quiet with easy access to places we chose to visit. Carol G (July 2017)

We spent a week in this delightful cottage Myself and my wife and the dog . Very comfortable Beautiful surroundings Owners very attentive and friendly . Stunning beaches! Cottage very clean Portmadog abt 3 miles from cottage. Plenty to do and see Great location Would def go back Hughes from Glasgow (August 2016)
Cefn Coch Isaf has a lot of character and is set in a beautiful if remote location, had the weather been kinder to us we would have enjoyed it even more. Mrs Cocker from Stoke-On-Trent (July 2016)
When I called to arrange key collection I was advised of everything I needed to know, Very private cottage with beautiful views. The cottage was very well equipped, and very clean. The dog seemed to enjoy herself too :) JenniferMolly (April 2016)
Points to make this property excellent for us are as follows. 1. Access to the property is not allowed until 4pm although guests are requested to leave on their day of departure by 10am. 6 hours turnaround for a cottage of this size seems excessive. 2. It is not clear that bath towels are not supplied and that is something we would have expected given the high quality and cleanliness of the bedlinen. These a small points that could be easily addressed and would make this beautiful, very clean, well equipped cottage even better. gilbey121 (March 2016)
A beautiful, authentic cottage in a stunning location. It was quiet and peaceful. Mr Pepler from Leicester (February 2016)
Beautiful cottage amidst stunning scenery. The perfect Christmas escape we were after. We enjoyed our adventures finding places to walk the dog and despite the occasional bad weather we loved every minute and did not want to leave! Would love to go back and will always hold special memories for us. I Miss Phelps from Teignmouth (December 2015)
This beautifully decorated 16th century cottage is set in the most tranquil setting in the Cwmystrallyn countryside. The cottage adjoins the owners property but with several feet of stone wall separating you the only noise you can hear is birdsong, and if you are very lucky an owl at night. The lounge is very spacious and incorporates dining table and chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with good quality equipment and everything you need to enjoy your break there. There is no oven but there are full simple instructions booklet for the convection/microwave there and we cooked a roast dinner successfully and used it frequently, so please don't let it put you off. The hob heats up really quickly and we have had a few cooked breakfasts during our stay! The bathroom was adequate and yes it is a wet room as such, but soon dries out, with a little ventilation. We sat outside where bistro table and chairs provided, and just enjoyed the lovely weather and a well earned drink, all in a totally private and peaceful garden. The upstairs again is very spacious, providing you with a comfortable bed and all the storage needed to enjoy your stay. Yes the stairs are steep but you do have solid supports to help you up the stairs. Throughout the property there are rustic beams which enhance your stay at this beautiful quaint cottage. So basically, if you are wanting to away from it all for a while, why not give it a go? We have come back feeling very refreshed. Thanks to the owners for giving so much detailed thought to the set up of this gem. Ann M (September 2015)
We arrived on sat 1st August and were very impressed with the cottage, the size of the rooms didn't disappoint with plenty of room for us and our puppy. although small, the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of good quality utensils pots pans etc however the down side was no oven there was a 2 ring hob and a convection microwave but having not used a microwave for years it was a struggle ,the shower room was of a good size ,the huge attic bedroom was accessed but a spiral staircase ,very quaint ! but with deep steps which on occasion were not easy to negotiate ,we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our trips out the only criticism was the cooker and the amount of over grown trees and bushes around the property which would benefit from being cut back ,if you are staying here we would recommend a visit to Black Rock Sands beach it was fab ,but hard to find, not very well sign posted ,but follow the signs for the golf club in town and its not far past that ,amazing for walking or just chilling janet j (August 2015)
This was a really good place to stay to explore the area of north Wales. The atmosphere of the stone cottage set in the countryside really appealed to us, and the scenery is awesome. Mr Don from Narre Warren (June 2015)
We loved our holiday because of the peace and quiet. The cottage was just that, all you could hear was the birds singing, it was so lovely. There is so much to do in Wales, a week wasn't long enough. The cottage was so quaint we just felt so at home there, we will be going again for sure. Mrs Ashworth from Northampton (May 2015)
This lovely cottage is well set up with great attention to the comfort of those renting it. There is ample room for 2 couples and a single with a large lounge area, large kitchen dining and everything needed to cook your own meals – or not as you so desire. There is two bathrooms provided. To the rear is a lovely garden which on a warm day would just entice you to sit and reflect, or read, or enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea with friends. The welcome pack had everything in it you needed for immediate use, including a lovely cake, milk in the fridge and of course the tea and coffee essentials. We used this as a base for seeing around the area and also for riding in the Little Trains of Wales, most of these being within and hour and a half travel by car from the cottage. janbee23 (May 2015)
A cracking little place, full of rustic charm and hidden away in rural seclusion (nearest pubs, shops, etc 8-10 minute drive). This is an ideal couples venue and very well placed for exploring North Wales. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped and tastefully decorated indoors, it was truly a rustic idyll - no noise just birdsong and baa-ing to be heard! Would benefit from having a mop at hand for the wet-room after showers but that's the only "criticism" as such and very minor at that. If you want to "get away from it all" and fancy something really different, definitely try here. Fauconberg (May 2015)
The cottage was in a gorgeous location within beautiful surroundings. It had an old feel and was very authentic. The garden was perfect for our dog. Ms Burton from Leeds (April 2015)
"The area was quiet and the cottage had lots of character. The property was in good condition and the heating was great. Owners were very friendly." Miss Gaskell from Bolton (February 2015)
This was the perfect getaway retreat, lovely character of the building and the gardens were fabulous. The Owners are very friendly. The Cottage was super warm and cosy, for getting away from it all. Will look forward to booking again. Mr Fairhurst from Abergele (February 2015)
The area is great with everything nearby. Mrs Waine from Romford (January 2015)
Peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed feeling secluded and undisturbed, being out of the way yet near a town big enough to stock up on food and DVDs. Felt out of the way, yet near lots of good walks and places to visit. Ms Skeels from Newbury (December 2014)
The cottage was beautiful and was close to lots of great places to visit. We definitely want to return next year. Ms Ashworth from Rochdale (December 2014)
A big thanks to the owner, who obviously went to great pains getting the cottage clean and ready to receive us. It was spotless! The cottage is quiet, private and there are literally hundreds of options at your doorstep! Some care has been taken with the finishing and equipment in the cottage. You get the impression that things were bought specifically for the cottage, and are not just cast-offs or second-hand cheap purchases. We will definitely be back! Mr Foster from Bracknell (November 2014)
one of our favourite places to stay, the cottage is beautiful and so are the gardens surrounding it, the location is ideal too 10 minutes from porthmadog, 20 from beddgelert, and 25 from criccieth and abersoch, some great walks to be had and cymstraddlyn a very close wal from the cottage, the owners are lovely and managed a chat the first night whilst walking the dog. we have stayed here twice and another visit is needed soon, beautiful place simul68 (November 2014)
A lovely peaceful location with plenty of real welsh charm, ideal for returning to after walking in the nearby mountains. The renovation of an original old cottage has been done superbly and with real sensitivity, preserving the character of the building whilst providing all necessary facilities. The underfloor heating was a wonderful bonus. Warm, welcoming and very private, with helpful owners next door but never intrusive. Mrs Wilson from Halesworth (October 2014)
Nice friendly owners who were very helpful. Good location close to Porthmadog and Cricceth but tucked away in quiet location that feels like your miles from anywhere. Fantastic grounds and garden. Mr Adams from Hayling Island (August 2014)
Great location, gorgeous mature garden with lots of wildlife, beautiful beamed bedroom, characterful property. Mrs Singleton from Stamford (July 2014)
The cottage was in a lovely position, a very quiet area but reasonably close to all amenities, we had super weather for enjoying the outdoors. Mrs Knowles from Newbury (June 2014)
The holiday was wonderful, a lovely part of North Wales and exceptionally the weather was very kind to us. The cottage was excellent and we most certainly would use the same cottage again. Mr Lofthouse from Skipton (May 2014)
The cottage was perfect ,the location perfect - 10 out of 10. The owners have exceeded in making this property very desirable for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. This is at the top of our list for holiday cottages. Mr Dunn from Whitstable (May 2014)
The cottage was amazing. Everything was far better than the pictures present. A real home away from home, with all the comforts. The bedroom was to die for. We never wanted to leave this room. The open rustic roof beams have to seen in person to be really appreciated. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. A fantastic get away situated in a really beautiful landscape. Mr Elkins from Lymington (February 2014)
The house was very warm and cosy and had everything we needed. A good location for visiting the coast and also for access to the Snowdonia National Park. Miss Hawkins from Horsham (December 2013)
We had a really lovely break here, the cottage was warm and cosy and we had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and even though we did not have a car or bikes we managed to get out and about and explore other areas by bus and foot (and occasional taxi). If you have a car and love open space and fantastic walks, this is perfect, but totally do-able without! Miss Doyle from London (November 2013)
It was ideal for us. The area was so peaceful, and the cottage secluded. Easy access to amenities, and of course the steam railways. The cottage was very cosy and warm, we loved it. Mr Davis from Lutterworth (October 2013)
A nice cottage in a wonderful location. Mrs Palin from Nottingham (May 2013)
The owners of the property were excellent. They were there if we needed them and always helpful and friendly. The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Very well positioned for a peaceful, out of the way holiday break. Mr Holmes from Bradford (April 2013)
Quiet, very rural, rustic property. It was exactly as we imagined; beautiful scenery, peaceful place. Great for walking and cycling. Mrs Harper from Leeds (March 2013)
What a wonderful place - a quiet retreat to rest & relax in. A warm welcome on arrival and a truly restful break. Miss Hopkins from Windsor (March 2013)
The cottage was as described in the brochure so not disappointed. We were warm and cosy. Loved the cottage and its quirkiness, especially the bedroom. We were welcomed with a Christmas bottle of wine and a card. Location and attractions spot on. Overall impression- great Mrs Hutchings from Lee-On-The-Solent (December 2012)
Staying here was the perfect place to relax and have a lovely romantic week away. The cottage was quaint and secluded with magnificent views. Myself and my boyfriend had a wonderful time. Miss Strange from Dukinfield (November 2012)
Great location. Very peaceful but not far to facilities. We loved the cottage. Very old, which we always look for, but sympathetically modernised. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Mrs Jones from Norwich (August 2012)
A nice old cottage that has been done up well. It is in a good location right out in the countryside. Mr Pyman from Swindon (June 2012)
We had a very nice holiday, the cottage was just what we expected and we were very happy. We will definitely come back. Mrs Jackson from Abbots Langley (April 2012)
The cottage is a gem waiting to be found. The garden is a wild country garden full of birds and completely unspoilt, it must be magic in the summer. It is a credit to the owners, the place is spotless and has a lovely warm welcome when you enter due to the heating system. A wonderful place! Mr Emery from Newcastle (March 2012)
We loved everything about the cottage, from the location, peacefulness, the closeness to Bedgelert, Abersoch and Llanberris. Its the second time we have been here and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Its quite simply beautiful! Mr Mulhall from Manchester (February 2012)
We liked the fact that the cottage was in a fairly isolated location but was close enough to Porthmadog to make shopping etc easy. Mrs Murphy from Plymouth (December 2011)
Lovely little cottage well kitted out - doesnt feel like the owner has just put leftover utensils etc there Great little wood and garden for dog to roam in first thing in morning and last thing at night. Car picked up a rodent though which ate through some wires one night! A FlipKey verified reviewer (December 2011)
Beautiful cottage set in beautiful surroundings. We had a wonderful long weekend and our dog particularly loved the nearby Black Rock beach just out of Portmadog which is well worth checking out. Mr Purcell from Uttoxeter (November 2011)
Thanks for a great holiday, we will be back soon! Mrs Heywood-Waddington from Southampton (November 2011)
The cottage was a warm haven to come home to after long days spent walking. Tucked away, surrounded by beautiful scenery, perfect for our hobby - photography! Mrs Stoneham from Reading (October 2011)
One of the best equipped cottages I have stayed in. The garden and small wood was perfect for the dog to run about in. The underfloor heating kept the place warm - and the dog appreciated that too! Ms Cox from Crewkerne (October 2011)
Property was full of character and ideally situated for the beach and the mountains. It was lovely and warm despite the tail end of a hurricane coming through while we were there. Mrs Mellor from Slough (September 2011)
We had a wonderful holiday again. The area is amazing. The cottage is in a lovely setting and area. The owners are so lovely, we will go again. Very near to the Ospreys located just outside Porthmadog. Perfect place for birdwatchers. Mrs Palin from Nottingham (July 2011)
A lovely little cottage in a really nice location. A very friendly, informative welcome by the owner. Equipment basic but adequate. A FlipKey verified reviewer (January 2011)
The cottage was gorgeous & is in a truely beautiful setting. Everything you could need & more is provided & the owners were there to meet me despite it being dark & thrashing down with rain! I was more than surprised by how clean the cottage was & despite going on my own with just my dog I felt very safe throughout my stay. The owners didn't keep popping in on me although I knew they were nearby if I did need anything. A really lovely holiday which I plan to repeat, thank you! A FlipKey verified reviewer (January 2011)
