Beautiful cottage and amazing hosts!! Can't wait to come back! Mrs Barbosa (March 2017)
Sykes made the booking process simple and easy to follow, totally stress free. The cottage itself was beautiful, in lovely surroundings and with country walks from the door. It was the perfect size for a couple. The owners (next door) were friendly and welcoming, and were on hand to answer any queries that arose. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they certainly made us feel welcome and looked after (thank you!). The location was ideal for getting to the coast, as well as into the heart ... Dr Goddard (March 2017)
We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway and it was the little details that we didn't expect such as the chocolates and shortbread Mrs Brown from Shrewsbury (October 2016)
Lovely hosts great weather, great location easy access to all areas. Mrs Timmins from Chorley (August 2016)
A lovely cottage and garden, and nice friendly owners. It was a great area for coastal and high level walking. Miss Halliwell from Banbury (June 2016)
Everything was fabulous. The owner's hospitality was brilliant. Mr Pope from Clitheroe (March 2016)
We particularly liked the safe, cosiness of Bryn Hyfryd Bach. The cottage was fully equipped with essentials and modern (had Netflix and flat screen TV). We had a warm welcome from the owners. Miss Gurney from Evesham (March 2016)
The owners were very kind and friendly and the cottage is in a peaceful relaxing position. There is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area with a mainline train station in the village. Scenery is stunning and we hope to return to further explore the area. Mr Lockey from Manchester (October 2015)
This was a beautiful cottage in an amazing setting. Very peaceful and relaxing. Mrs Lagowski from Letchworth Garden City (August 2015)
A warm and friendly welcome and a clean, comfortable cottage. We had a fantastic week and will definitely book again. Miss Gosling from Chelmsford (August 2015)
A beautiful cottage with a beautiful garden in a lovely location, ideal for walking the Wales Coast Path. Being able to use the owners' hot tub was a real bonus. The owners are really friendly hosts. It was so relaxing sitting in the sunny west-facing garden in the evening, watching and listening to the birds. Miss Hutchins from Somerton (June 2015)
A great location with good local facilities and attractions. A very cosy cottage with great facilities. Mrs Bolster from Bristol (May 2015)
A lovely cottage in a perfect spot with helpful and unobtrusive hosts. Ms Kyle from Darlington (May 2015)
The cottage is ideally located as a base to explore, there is so much to do locally as well as further afield. The cottage itself is perfect for a couple, it has everything needed for a relaxing holiday for two. The hosts are non invasive but available if you need them; they really want you to have a good holiday and add a bespoke touch which we found made our holiday extra special. The local village is a 5 minute walk and the pubs are welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday and would highly recommend Bryn Hyfryd Bach as the perfect romantic holiday home in a great location. Ms Scott from Kidwelly (April 2015)
The owners are very welcoming and helpful, not a bit obtrusive. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped, we enjoyed the wood burner. Its in a very peaceful setting with lovely views. Mrs Locke from Sheffield (March 2015)
The owners of this property were extremely friendly and very helpful. For any couple that needs time away, my wife and I highly recommend and would like to thank the owners very much for making our stay a very happy one. Mr Nash from Basildon (March 2015)
Excellent location, lovely accommodation and super hosts. Mr Williams from Middlewich (February 2015)
The hosts were excellent, extremely helpful and thoughtful. The use of their hot tub was a great added bonus and made for a great time. Mr Wright from Liverpool (December 2014)
A brilliant getaway on the North Wales coast. Bryn Hyfryd Bach is on a picturesque, secluded hillside giving you privacy and quiet but there is a shop and garage a short drive away so you don't feel cut off. The butcher at the local SPAR shop is fantastic and you can get most things from there. Visitors should note that there is parking for one car at the cottage and elder/disabled visitors may struggle with the walk back up the hill from the easiest place to leave a second car. The cottage is well appointed and the living room surprisingly roomy (bigger than it looks in the pictures). Wifi is included in the price. The kitchen has a cooker, microwave, toaster and a lot of pots, utensils and crockery for two people. I can be a little tight with two people in there but we managed one cooking while one washed up fairly easily and without arguments! The bedroom has a gorgeous stone feature wall, a very comfortable bed and plenty storage space. Hot water bottles were provided and used on one night, as it can get a little cold up there. The living room has a wood burner to keep warm and with a little 'door management', you can easily warm the whole cottage from it. We didn't need to use the electric heater provided once and it was very cold and windy while we were there. The toilet/shower room has a very modern shower fitted which was always hot and the room has plenty of space to move around in. The owners live in an attached property and were very helpful. I think every review on here mentions Chris and Paddy and they did not disappoint. A truly lovely couple. Use of the hot tub is by appointment as it is at the bottom of their garden and they really go out of the way to make it comfortable for you. They have a little 'games barn' with a wood burner to keep warm while you change and in winter months there is a gazebo over the tub to keep the Welsh weather out. All in all, this was a great break from the rat race and I would happily book again. Chris F (December 2014)
The scenery was awesome and the owners were really kind. All together, a perfect holiday. Miss Adegbite from Aberdeen (November 2014)
Excellent choice all round. Great attention to detail, the perfect getaway. Ms Wales from Shrewsbury (November 2014)
Everything was perfect, the owners are so helpful and we will definately be returning! Miss Hudson from Stoke On Trent (August 2014)
The cottage was everything we expected, very quirky and quaint. Mrs Farquhar from Aldershot (August 2014)
Our landlords were very welcoming and we had a wonderful time. Mrs Shair from Peterborough (August 2014)
We had a fabulous week here enhanced by the glorious weather - but the cottage would be lovely whatever the prevailing weather. The owners greeted us like old friends and were helpful yet discreet. They gave us a few pointers to local sights and walks etc and some hints about shopping which did save time and effort. The cottage is small but very charming and we didn't feel we needed anything bigger so it was perfect for us. The furnishing was exquisite and the the kitchen and bathroom just right. A lovely little garden with the option of the hot tub too made the stay very special for us. We wouldn't hesitate to return and probably will! Mr Todd from Leigh-On-Sea (August 2014)
This was a delightful cottage in a wonderful location. It was very quiet with lovely walks and stunning scenery on the doorstep, and yet not isolated as it was within a few minutes walk of the main village and pubs, even if the lane was a bit steep! It was also ideally placed to travel to and explore the surrounding area with an extremely welcoming host couple. Mrs Sawtell from Bampton (May 2014)
The cottage was lovely, location was fantastic, really peaceful and beautiful. Didn't need to get in the car to go for a walk, could just go out the front door in any direction and just keep on going for miles without bumping into a soul! The owners next door were really friendly, kind and helpful in an unobtrusive way. Mr Taylor from Chichester (August 2013)
Enjoyed the friendly welcome from the owners. The cottage was snug and just right for 2 people. Hardly any passing cars only noise was the birds in the garden which was a pleasure to sit and watch. Miss Rudd from Taunton (June 2013)
The property was lovely and very well presented. We particularly enjoyed having use of a small garden and BBQ - the weather was lovely so we were able to make full use. Miss Bishop from North Shields (June 2013)
The cottage has a wondereful home from home feel. It is cosy and comfortable and perfectly placed to explore the outstanding scenery and local attractions. All this and within walking distance of two fantastic pubs! Thanks to the owners for the wonderful welcome and help throughout our stay. Mr Woodroof from St. Albans (September 2012)
This was a great little cottage in a quiet secluded location, yet close to restaurants, pubs and other amenities. The owners were most friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to get away for a break. Dr Arrowsmith from Montmorency (September 2012)
The cottage was clean & well equipped, The owners lived next door and gave us a warm welcome. They were very helpful. There is so much to do nearby that we struggled to fit it all in - castles, beaches, holiday towns, walks, quaint villages ... The only thing we didn't like was driving up the very narrow, winding lane to the cottage as we worried about meeting someone coming the other way - although we never did. A FlipKey verified reviewer (December 2011)
Small, but all you need for a couple! Lovely little garden. Owners couldn't do enough. Everything supplied - tea, coffee, hot chocolate, scones, butter, jam and cream. Was lovely to come back and make up the fire and settle down after a long day! A FlipKey verified reviewer (December 2011)
the owners were helpful and friendly, making us feel very welcome.the cottage was really comfortable and clean.the garden was lovely and peaceful.it was situated in a very quiet area.the village was a short walk away with a couple of shops and pubs. with a decent bus service.we had a lovely relaxing holiday which was very good value for money. We had a great time in North Wales. Bryn Hyfryd Bach Cottage was beautiful and made our stay very pleasant. We found everything was to very high standards and after our long days exploring, walking and visiting all the wonderful tourist attractions, it was a treat to go back to such comfortable cottage. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended! Miss Urzaiz from Maidstone (August 2011)
We had a lovely peaceful week in an area we know well. Chris and Paddy were extremely welcoming without being intrusive. One evening they cooked and served an excellent meal in their own conservatory next door for us and our friends who live nearby. The cottage is small, and the lounge can seem a bit dark because of the location on the side of a wooded hill, but it is more than adequate for a couple. It is very well-equipped (even down to tooth-picks on the table!) and there were many homely touches such as scones and wine to welcome us on arrival and tea, coffee, cooking oil and even some herbs and spices in the kitchen. The bed was the most comfortable we have found in a rental cottage. Mike N (August 2011)
A quaint cottage, set on a quiet country lane with distant views of the sea. The owners were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is well situated for walking, cycling and the coast. Mr Leach from Leeds (July 2011)
The cottage was well equipped and very clean. The garden was lovely and it was a very quiet, peaceful and relaxing holiday. Mrs Wright from Sheffield (June 2011)
A fantastic property, small touches such as wine and chocolate on arrival give a welcoming feel. Lovely garden and everything you could need was available in the cottage. Mrs Holland from Bradford (May 2011)
We had a truely fantastic holiday, the cottage was gorgeous - small but cute and had everything we could possibly have needed; exactly what we were looking for. It did get a bit chilly later at night, but blankets are provided in the living room and an electric heater in the bedroom so it was fine - just remember to pack your slippers! The owners are lovely, they couldnt be more friendly and helpful and were very hospitable. The location is picturesque - beautiful countryside and clean sandy beaches perfect for walks and exploration. The village is very close and an easy walk, there are a few small convenience shops that will sell you what you need and also a couple of nice pubs that serve lovely food. We would love to go back one day. annalouise89 (April 2011)
Unfortunately i had a back injury and we had to cut the holiday short. Paddy and Chris were brilliant.I couldn't drive because of my back and they drove us home,240 miles.Wonderful people. A FlipKey verified reviewer (November 2010)
A beautiful location, with hosts who were very helpful. Mr Latham from Derby (October 2010)
The people who owned the cottage were great. I hurt my back and could not drive and we had to end our holiday early. They drove us home, 220 miles - unbelievable. Wonderful people. Mr Symonds from Cambridge (September 2010)
I know this area from holidaying when I was a child and it is unchanged over the last 30 years. The cottage is really quaint but very well equipped and it forms a fantastic base for an activity holiday. Cycle route 8 runs past the front door, but be warned, the roads are steep and challenging. There is easy access to other great days out such as the cycle trail along the Mawddach Estuary from Barmouth, walks around Llandanwg Beach or the Rhinog Hills, or a trip to climb Snowdon. There are good amenities in the village with pubs, a restaurant and small convenience stores. The hosts are very friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. An excellent break! A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2010)
The cottage was delightful, wildlife in abundance and quaint and homely. Paddy and Chris the owners enhanced our stay with their company. Birthday cake on my birthday. Perfect location close to Shell Island and Barmouth. Wonderful scenic drives in the location. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back. A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2010)
Beautiful location with plenty of activities in the area. Very tranquil. Dr Adams from Cardiff (July 2010)
The setting of the cottage was absolutely idyllic. Beautiful location. Birdlife in abundance and the garden is one you wish you could pocket and bring home. I would not hesitate to recommend or go back. Fantastic holiday! Mrs Crnokrak from Stoke-On-Trent (June 2010)
The owners were great - not intrusive, but there if necessary - the cottage and garden are gorgeous with everything necessary to make it a wonderful stay - perhaps a little settee would be more comfortable than two chairs, but that is all I can think of - the only thing that could be a problem for some people is the lane to the cottage which is very steep A FlipKey verified reviewer (December 2009)
A tidey little cottage with great veiws. the owners live next door and could not be more friendly. The food at the local pub is of a high quality, and its not far to walk.It is however a steep return trip. I enjoyed my stay and would recomend this venue to any couple. A FlipKey verified reviewer (December 2009)
