The cottage was very clean Mrs Sierat (July 2017)
We didn't need a car to get anywhere, everything was a very short walk the weather was lovely sunny and clear sykes, we did have frost but by 10 it had gone. Cottage is really beautiful and the owners were fantastic. We even a Christmas stocking each on the end of the bed. Would definitely go again. christine k (January 2017)
The cottage was amazing and the host was easily contactable. We really enjoyed Ramsgate as a place and would recommend our friends to visit and use Sykes website for accommodation. Miss Cooper from London (September 2016)
Ramsgate wasn't our first choice but was a pleasant surprise and very central to a number of lovely places. Mrs Mitchel-bryan from Nottingham (September 2016)
The cottage was beautiful. Gorgeously decorated and well equipped, as are all Sykes cottages we have stayed in. Tracey, the owner, left a lovely welcome pack of goodies and was friendly and helpful in her communications. The location was fab. A 5 minute walk to the beach and a lovely coastal walk to neighbouring Broadstairs. We would not stay again due to the parking. It stated 'roadside parking on first come, first served basis' which was true but optimistic! We didn't use our car after the first evening we did it took us half an hour of circling the local area trying to find a space! Luckily excellent bus service. Mrs Ansell from Chesham (August 2016)
Such a lovely holiday cottage - beautifully decorated, equipped with everything you may need. Cannot recommend highly enough. Perfect location, very near beach and harbour. Lovely owner, extremely helpful and warm. Would most definitely book again! The kids and ourselves had a truly wonderful time :) Ms Digby from Dublin (August 2016)
This was a delightful cottage which has been recently renovated to a high standard. The owners have done this as a holiday getaway for themselves and this shoes as there are a lot of touches which you only get in home. The cottage is very well furnished and has all the facilities that you would need. Every room is very nicely decorated and to a high standard and it leaves you feeling very comfortable and homely and we have a very nice time. The welcome pack was an unexpected bonus, but made us feel very welcome and allowed us to have a cuppa straight away which after a long drive is welcome. The garden is also very nice and enjoyable area. The location is good. While the streets around the house could do with a lot more TLC as they have been run down, in terms of getting around it is good. The town centre is a short walk away as is the beach. The town has all the shops you need either in the town centre or at the Westwood cross shopping centre which is only about 10 min drive. With Broadstairs, Ramsgate, other towns and many many beaches also within a short drive then it was easy and quick to get around. There are a few minor points which were disappointing. however. 3 times the TV lost the signal and stopped working. Once this lasted the whole rest of the night! Other times it worked fine so I don't know what caused the problems. Parking in the street is a problem. Although we did manage to get a space everytime, due to the street being a dead-end and very narrow then it is difficult to get in and out with no turning possibility. This is not helped by neighbours parking on double yellow lines and restricting the entry. On one occasion we manged to get out by just a few cm space each side, our car was only a ford focus so not exactly big! A few tips to the owners to make it even better would be; More storage space in the bathroom. When you have 3-4 people staying each needs room to place their toilet bag. Maybe a wind breaker in the shed, which could be borrowed and taken to the beach. Better curtains or removal of the shutters in the bedrooms. While they look nice, at 5am on a summer morning when the sun rises then it starts streaming in and waking everybody. Mr Smith from Taunusstein (July 2016)
