This was an excellent location and just what we needed, a quite restful break with all the comforts of home. All in a beautiful area with stunning views.
Mr Mowatt (November 2017)

Good accommodation at an excellent price. Friendly owner.
Mrs Mclinn (September 2017)

Great little bungalow in excellent location for Cairngorms walking. I also went to Grantown, Aviemore, Forres and Aberdeen.
Mr Cheetham (July 2017)

Everything and have already booked for next year twice.
Mrs Keiller (July 2017)

Great cottage wonderfull location nice people.
Mr Landels (April 2017)

the cottage was as described in a lovely location and beautiful scenery. the house was lovely and warm on arrival. we met the owners during the holiday and they are a lovely couple. we would probadly book this cottage again.
Mrs Robertson (March 2017)

We had a wonderful start of the year in the cottage. It is very cosy and complete. Furniture and fittings a bit outdated but everything worked well. Considering the price you pay you get a lot of comfort and facilities. There are thermostat controlled radiators in every room and there is a very nice multifuel stove, so we we're nice and warm even in the winter. Facilities very complete, including bedlinnen, towels, soap, cleaning products, wood and coal for the stove, kitchen towels, cling film, pepper & salt, and so on. Also a large fridge and freezer, a washing machine and dryer. All you need to bring yourselve is your toothbrush and shampoo. The cottage was very clean, allthough the extraction hood could benefit from some more attention. There is no wifi, but good 3G reception. The bed was allright but had a dimple in the middle and was therefore maybe at end of life we felt. Owner is living a few houses further down the road and very friendly and attentive. Some whisky and shortbread were offered for welcome, how nice is that! Tomintoul is a small but very charming village with a good pub at the Avon Hotel and a store village which sells the basic every day groceries. Very beautiful surroundings for touring, walking and of course there are some very nice whisky distilleries to visit. Nice villages to visit (and drive to) are Braemer, Ballatar and Aberlour. All in all we had a really good time and highly recommand this cottage. We certainly will be back!
Siebette (January 2017)

Good website (search options and accurate information) and personal contact by phone and e-mail. However, we feel the booking fee that goes to Sykes is very high in relation to the price you pay for the cottage....
Mrs Wester from Zoetermeer (December 2016)

Excellent as it always is....was our 5th Visit.
Mr Brattey from Aviemore (October 2016)

This cottage was immaculately presented. You couldn't ask for any more. The village itself is beautiful. Great if you want to explore places such as balmoral, ballater, avimore or even further afield. The hotels etc do carry out meals for you. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants a base to explore or even just for relaxation.
ricky1949 (October 2016)

Easy to see why this cottage is so popular with visitors. Comfortable, comprehensively equipped, properly maintained and perfectly located for exploring Glenlivet country - especially by foot. For walkers - there are great walks to be had without moving the car and many requiring only a short drive to access. My wife and I will certainly return, many thanks to Tony, the owner, a most friendly, informative and helpful host.
Mr Turner from Isle Of South Uist (September 2016)

The cleanliness of this cottage was exceptional. Our dogs loved it. Great base for exploring. If you needed anything, you just had to ask. I would recommend this Cottage to anyone who was wanting to explore. For example Braemar, Balmoral, Crathie Church, Ballater, Aviemore, or even further afield. Thank you Tony.
Mr Atkinson from Edinburgh (September 2016)

Pat and I long with Poppy our sprocker spaniel have just spent the past week in BEECH YARD COTTAGE in Tomintoul Great location lovely cottage very comfortable bed with everything you needed. Tony the owner even left a large bottle of water on the door step on the morning the water was cut off for a few hour We will defiantly spend another week or two when we next visit If you're after a really peaceful place to stay then Tomintoul and BEECH YARD COTTAGE is the place to do it.
RayMartin1955 (September 2016)

Mrs Martin from Sutton-In-Ashfield (August 2016)

Perhaps a side gate to keep the dogs in
Mr Duff from Glasgow (August 2016)

Excellent. A very well equipped and comfortable cottage. It was terrific value for money.
Mr Brattey from Aviemore (July 2016)

It was a very nice house; warm and cosy and very clean. It was everything we needed.
Werner from Pfingen (June 2016)

A lovely cottage that is spotlessly clean and has everything we would have expected and more besides. The rear garden is a terrific sun trap and ideal for sitting out on nice days.
Mr Brattey from Aviemore (June 2016)

Beech Yard Cottage is in a nice and quiet location, and everything was we'd have wanted it to be.
Mr Brattey from Aviemore (December 2015)

Beech Yard Cottage is very nice and comfortable with everything we required.
Mr Brattey from Aviemore (December 2015)

Cottage very clean and welcoming and like a home from home. Lovely welcome from owner and my holiday on the whole fantastic.
Mrs Keiller from Glasgow (October 2015)

A very clean and well maintained cosy cottage with good facilities and a great view to the highlands. Highly recommended.
Tramp from Langelsheim (August 2015)

The owner was particularly friendly and helpful. The cottage was in a very quiet location away from the Main Street. We absolutely loved the wood burner and the supply of fuel which was more than welcome on one very cool evening. The fact that the cottage was pet friendly was an added bonus.
Dr Qualtrough from Carnforth (July 2015)

The location of the cottage was good; we were near to the amenities of Tomintoul village, and also had access to good dog walks nearby. A good central position for touring the Cairngorm National Park. The addition of the wood/coal stove in the lounge was a definite bonus. The neighbours were friendly too.
Mrs Ramsden from Huddersfield (May 2015)

A spacious cottage, very homely feeling and dog friendly. Everything there you could need.
Miss Reid from Forfar (May 2015)

A very cosy, comfortable cottage in a magical location.
Ms Jordan from Pontefract (April 2015)

Really nice, clean and well kept cottage. I would have no problem in returning to this property in the future.
Mr Grieve from Aberdeen (December 2014)

Nice and quiet location with lots of walks nearby. Great for the dogs!
Mr Cheyne from Clackmannan (October 2014)

Excellent cottage, very clean, cosy and comfortable. Cottage ideally situated for exploring the Cairngorms and the Highlands with local walks on the doorstep.
Mr Mcintosh from Pontyclun (September 2014)

The cottage had everything we needed and more - the multi-fuel burning stove in the lounge made us feel snug and cosy after some long walks. Would recommend this Cottage to anyone who likes sight-seeing and walking, especially dog owners! Will probably go again in the near future - splendid value!
Mr Mitchell from Tamworth (August 2014)

Loved our holiday. Beech yard cottage was a warm and cosy base for exploring the Cairngorm's. Especially loved sitting infront of the fire on the rainy days. And the welcome gifts from the owners was lovely thought. We hope to go back soon!
Mrs Vohs from Chesterfield (August 2014)

The Cottage was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Loved the area, beautiful scenery and walks, so did our two dogs. The people in Tomintoul are very friendly, have been on holiday in this area a few times and have never been disappointed, whatever the weather. Always drawn back to the area.
Mrs Bristow from Hull (July 2014)

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage, good location for the hills.
Mr Reed from Kendal (June 2014)

Great wildlife and views on your doorstep. Pub and tourist information centre in walking distance. Lots of places to visit to see wildlife, one of the favourites being Loch Garten Osprey Centre RSPB. The cottage was very comfortable and well kept. Money well spent in the bathroom, good power shower that heats up in seconds. Overall the cottage was very good and our holiday was great. It was nice to see and speak to the owner in person.
Miss Keen from Norwich (June 2014)

A lovely bungalow, pet friendly, but don't be put off if you don't have pets as it was nice and clean. Owner called in the first morning to make sure we were OK. So quiet and a reasonable price, couldn't have wanted more.
valventress (June 2014)

Had a fantastic stay at this lovely property. All the amenities you require included and very friendly neighbors. Great base for us to tour around and the walks around the village well worth doing. Hope to be back again in the future. Gift on arrival well appreciated.
Steve B (June 2014)

An excellent base for touring the Moray and Cairngorms area. The cottage is set in a very quiet lane with superb views from the front window. As a malt whisky lover, we were based right in the middle of the Malt Whisky Distillery Trail.
Mr Ventress from Driffield (May 2014)

The cottage was comfortable and clean. The wood-burner in the sitting room was a wonderful addition. The location was very good. Just a short walk into the village. Garden was great. Wonderful neighbours. We had a really happy peaceful holiday. Loved it! We are very likely to return.
Mrs Powell from Tranent (September 2013)

There was so much to see and do in the surrounding area. Shops and an excellent restaurant within walking distance. It was quiet with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We found it to be a perfect all round holiday 10/10.
Mr Hinde from Wisbech (August 2013)

Probably the friendliest place we have ever been to. The home was extremely comfortable especially the king size bed.The area was quiet with stunning views and plenty of wildlife some of which we had never seen before, and plenty of walks for our dog.
A FlipKey verified reviewer (August 2013)

We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the village was very nice, and so were the people. Lots of lovely walks near by.
Mrs Hughes from Bo'Ness (July 2013)

Lovely cottage in a very peaceful location. The only fault I could find was the poor quality pillows. Other than that I really liked the place and thought it very good value for money.
Mrs Duff from Isle Of Skye (June 2013)

Good access to places of interest. Beautiful scenery. Local people very friendly, a place for a relaxing holiday. Will go again.
Mr Timson from Warrington (June 2013)

A nice, cosy cottage, very welcoming owner. Great location and we hope to return in the future
Mr Parkin from Selby (June 2013)

This was a last minute booking as we wanted a base for a while whilst touring Scotland for a few weeks. This is a lovely cottage with everything you could need (please note - shower only) there is also a lovely woodburner. It is in a lovely quiet residential location within a lovely village. The owner is very friendly. We would definately stay here again should we visit this area again.
Cassie1001 (June 2013)

Owner has thought of everything! Absolutely outstanding property and area - will go again!
Mr Moon from Rickmansworth (May 2013)

A friendly and clean village with excellent amenities. The cottage owner was very considerate and came to make sure we had everything we needed. A welcome whiskey and shortbread was a lovely surprise.
Mrs Kerr from Galashiels (April 2013)

The welcome pack was very nice. The cottage is situated in a lovely village with countryside all around. Plenty of hot water and nicely warm building.
Mrs Dalton from Wakefield (August 2012)

Spotlessly clean cottage, with excellent appliances. Pet friendly, only thing to point out is that the garden is not secure for a dog. (It would also have beeen helpful to know that there were stairs up to the front door). A very warm welcome awaited us from the landlord, with a couple of miniatures and some shortbread! The bed was very comfy and large! In spite of inclement weather it was a lovely break, with sightings of deer and lots of other animals; we would go back again, only down side - it was 14 miles from Grantown-on-Spey and 24miles from Ballater (the nearest shoppping centres).
A FlipKey verified reviewer (July 2012)

What a lovely cottage warm and cosy and very well positioned down a very quiet lane with a beautiful view from the front window. The owners very kindly left us a welcome gift which we really appreciated especially the whisky. The area has plenty to offer along with breathtaking scenery all around and we were lucky enough to see the olympic torch being carried through the village. We would rate this as the best cottage we have visited and we hope to visit again
A FlipKey verified reviewer (June 2012)

I have rented quite a few places and i must say that it was by far the best, The accommodation was cosy and comfortable it had every amenity you could ever want, loved the fire had it on for 2 nights really nice touch in the lounge. We met the owner on the second day very nice and friendly man he came in and had a chat and a cup of tea, He gave me info on the best whiskey to buy. All in all a very nice holiday will definatly be coming back Graham Rickard From Cork Ireland

Breathtaking scenery, fantastic mountain bike trails. The cottage is an ideal place for a cosy comfortable break. I must admit the log fire was wonderful to sit in front of in the evening. The signal for my I pad on 3G was amazing. The owner gave us a warm welcome also he was on hand if we needed any help, I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family.
Mr Carstairs from Glasgow (April 2012)

The service we received was first class, and the bungalow was comfortable and cosy especially at night with the woodburner. they were plenty of walks in the area, and a nice pub that gives excellent meals and friendly staff. We loved the area and the locals were always friendly and helpful.
Solflynn (March 2012)

A great stay for us and our cat for over New Year. Great location for hillwalking, skiing (the Lecht is 5 minutes away) and the drive through Glenshee on the way is beautiful. Fuel for open fire and electricity included in price (not like other places), very comfy bed and couch/chairs. Kitchen has all you need and bathroom is clean. There was no wifi but a full 3G signal on moblie so if you can tether your mobile to your tablet/pc wth no issues at all. We have been to cottages twice the price and they have been NOWHERE near as good as there was literally everything you needed down to tomato sauce, HP, toilet roll, every cleaning type you could imagine! Even black bags!!! Lovely neighbours and even though parking is on the street the only cars passing are the neighbours and that was few and far between. great shops as well and the Fire station had a lovely rombouts coffee :)
RoddyNHelen (January 2012)

It was an extremely cosy and comfortable cottage, in a lovely village. We are hoping to come back up in the spring!
Mr Will from Dunfermline (December 2011)
