The location of the cottage was perfect. Beautiful and peaceful. Cottage itself was lovely and had everything we could need. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway. Miss Robinson (April 2017)
This was the perfect walking break for us. The cottage was just perfect and all our beautiful walks started straight from the front door so no need to use the car. Mrs Walbank (March 2017)
very helpful and welcoming owners and a very good location for places to visit Mrs Taylor from Selby (January 2017)
The history and location of this cottage is fantastic, one feels as though you are traveling back in time,. When entering Ravensdale cottages lane, you imagine the old mill workers traveling through. The 200 yr old cottage / cottages are unspoilt, full of character, inside is the modern facilities to help the occiputs to have a clean and safe stay. Would highly recommend the cottage. The area surrounding Ravensdale is full of places to walk, Monsal Head being a must, the views are fantastic. Monsal trail well worth a visit. We will certainly be returning. Mrs Brooks from Thetford (September 2016)
The cottage was in a very peaceful area, so after a day sight seeing and visiting it was a lovely haven to return to. Mr Barnes from Southampton (July 2016)
The cottage was in a beautiful, secluded location surrounded by hills and woodland. There were superb walks straight from the door but also plenty of places to visit within easy reach. The cottage itself was very well equipped, picturesque and had loads of charm. Mrs Cookson from Grantham (April 2016)
We liked the peace and quiet and the cleanliness of the property. Mr Martin from Staffs (April 2016)
A superb cottage: well-placed for walking in the area; fantastic kitchen facilities; and a wonderfully comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The owner was friendly and helpful on arrival and we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing long weekend in the heart of the Peak District. Mr Fletcher from London (April 2016)
An idyllic place to stay with such a wonderful atmosphere. We had a wonderful welcome from the owner and liked the beautiful, peaceful setting. Mrs Platt from Diss (March 2016)
73 Ravensdale Cottages is a lovely, quaint holiday cottage in a beautiful, secluded setting. We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet, opening the windows and hearing only birdsong and the sound of the stream in the bottom of the valley. There are walks from the front door and many more a short distance away. Our host was welcoming, helpful and informative. We had a great holiday and have returned home feeling refreshed and energised! Mr Rushby from York (March 2016)
Our stay could not have been better in any way. The wood burning stove was a highlight and it really made an already-cosy cottage the ultimate hideaway from the wind and rain. Mr Anderson from Earls Barton (January 2016)
Had a very lovely stay; a secluded and peaceful location and charming cottage. There were beautiful walks. Miss Gough from London (December 2015)
We rented 73 Ravensdale Cottage for the Christmas period; we did the same last year and have also stayed at the cottage in the warmer months. I will admit that selfishly I would rather keep it to myself but that just wouldn't be right. The lovely, cottage owners who live next door with their two moggies Picasso and Yanto, have a knack of ensuring that all needs are met without making you feel that they are intruding. The cottage itself is awesome. No cell phone reception but great internet access which for us is exactly what we want. Open fire, Smart TV, corner bath, no through road. Cosy just does not cover it. Ravensdale is located on a live walking route which is ideal for us. We would either go out for a good 10 miler or we would satellite out to local villages and pubs. Bring a head torch if you visit in the winter months. If you like to get away from the rat race on occasion and like a bit of walking with a cosy base to come back to then have a look at Ravensdale. Oh and the only negative is that we cannot live there permanently. Ms Anthony from Birmingham (December 2015)
We had a fantastic holiday at 73 Ravensdale Cottages and were able to escape it all and relax! Owner was very friendly and around to help if needed. Walks from the cottage would suit any ability. We had a great time! Mr Page from Cromer (December 2015)
73 Ravensdale Cottage, is in a lovely setting and area, very quiet with an excellent wood burning stove. Mrs Pointon from Hull (December 2015)
The cottage was so isolated and peaceful, and among very unique settings, yet not too far from towns like Bakewell and Buxton. The back yard was very cute, although due to the rain we weren't able to enjoy it. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is very close to the Monsal trail which is amazing for walking/cycling. Mr Walker from Huddersfield (November 2015)
A lovely quirky cottage that harks back to the early 19th century with modern day facilities. It sits in the lea of a crag used by climbers who can be watched from the canopied seating area outside the back door. The owners make you feel welcome and are full of information about the area. Mr Allum from Eastbourne (September 2015)
The fact that the cottage was in quite a remote location made our stay very relaxing. The history of the property was also very interesting. We enjoyed exploring places nearby and walking in the countryside. Ms Almond from Llandudno (February 2015)
Abolutely loved it! It was such a pretty little place and it made my life dream come true for a week! We had such a good time, in a great private location surrounded by such beautiful countryside! Pinder from Nottingham (February 2015)
Ravensdale Cottage is set in the most beautiful location! So secluded and quiet yet not too far from amenities. The Cottage was absolutely perfect, we had everything we needed. It was brilliant to be so close to the Monsal Trail and other fabulous walks. Such a lovely break away perfect for a romantic break. We hope to be back soon. Many thanks to the lovely landlord. Miss Lee from Leigh-On-Sea (January 2015)
We were made to feel very welcome in this delightful cottage with everything that we needed. We enjoyed lovely walks in the area Ben W (January 2015)
The cottage was very well equipped and very cosy. Despite the weather we enjoyed a very relaxing few days. The location is quiet but not remote and there is easy access to lots of good local walking. Ms Stockdale from York (November 2014)
Comfortable, cosy interesting cottage set in very peaceful surroundings. On one of our favourite round walks and access to several others without using the car. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable owner who was there if needed. Good food at the George in Tideswell on the round walk through Cressbrook/Tansley/Tideswell/Miller's Dales. Mr Fittall from Dursley (November 2014)
Very nice welcome by the cottage owner. It's a lovely Cottage with light, sympathetically designed interior and all modern conveniences. An extremely peaceful and quiet location surrounded by woods and dramatic limestone cliffs. We literally could not hear a thing except for the ravens. Overall a wonderful and restful experience. Would recommend to friends and family. Mr White from Tunbridge Wells (September 2014)
The Cottage provided all the warmth and comfort needed for a very relaxing holiday in the heart of beautiful countryside. Mr Goodier from Southampton (August 2014)
A beautiful cottage and location with friendly owners; perfect. Mr Walker from Lichfield (August 2014)
Excellent accommodation, highly recommended. Owners made us very welcome. Mr Hadley from Kingswinford (July 2014)
The cottage was in an excellent location for walkers as you could step out the door and go in any direction to pick up a footpath. We were close to the Monsal Trail and again this proximity meant we hardly needed to use the car all week, except for food shopping and a trip to Chatsworth House we didn't. The Owner was very welcoming and informative about the cottage explaining where everything was and also the history. And most of all it was quiet and peaceful - so very relaxing. Mrs Humm from Cambridge (June 2014)
A gem of a little holiday cottage, just right for two people, located in a wooded valley near Cressbrook Mill. We loved the peace and tranquility of the location and the fact that you could just walk out from the cottage into stunning countryside (the Monsal Trail is just 'down the road'). The cottage was well equipped, and the owners who live next door, were extremely welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed sitting out under a small covered seating area on the terrace in the evening watching the ravens nesting up on the crag. For those that like to combine outdoor activities with sightseeing, the cottage is well placed to enjoy the delights of the Peak District. Ms Davison from Tonbridge (June 2014)
