Lovely cosy cottage in a converted workhouse. Ideally located for Bala and all the surrounding attractions. Great little town, lovely pubs, cafes & services. Mr Moynihan (November 2017)
Ideal location for visiting different areas of Snowdonia. Comfortable quiet accommodation for 2 people. Mrs Berwick (June 2017)
The 1 improvement that the owners of this cottage I think should do is include a parking permit, as £7.50 per day parking is quite expensive. Mrs Gratton (April 2017)
We thought we would try north Wales for a change . I always try and look for places with character. We were not disappointed with my choice. lovely big sofa with a nice size TV for the evenings.Comfy bed and well equipped kitchen . Plus WiFi added to the pleasant experience. postie222 (September 2016)
The location was central to a lot of other villages and towns, and Bala itself had everything we needed. 4 Bythynnod yr Aran was a lovely comfortable base that was very spacious and all we could have wanted. Mr Chimiak from Wolverhampton (June 2016)
This was something different with character. It had WiFi and was ideal for touring Wales. We were pleased with the holiday and accommodation. Mr Crabtree from Leeds (May 2016)
This was a super place to stay. It is an excellent conversion of an historic building, very tastefully furnished. Mr Roberts from Hexham (April 2016)
Beautiful cottage in a gated courtyard environment, well equipped, very comfortable and clean. 2 minutes walk to the town, 5 minutes walk from the lake. Lovely place to return to after a busy day. Sue A (April 2016)
Really enjoyed our week here. A very attractive conversion of part of the old workhouse, the property is very well equipped and one of the best self-catering places we have used. A great base for walking the Berwyn and Arenig hills - my reason for booking it - but Bala has plenty to offer apart from hill-walking. Highly recommended! Martin R (April 2016)
We loved the location of 4 Bythynnod yr Aran and the convenience of having the town on the doorstep. Mrs Kent from Stroud (March 2016)
The accommodation was excellent, with plenty of space and a high level of comfort. Great walks out in the countryside and plenty of useful amenities very nearby. Mr Simpson from Northwich (January 2016)
The location of the cottage was great for shops, pubs, the lake and leisure centre. The cottage was beautiful and of a very high standard. Mrs Wiggins from Rochdale (August 2015)
The house is superb. High specification décor and furnishings. In an excellent spot for travelling all around Snowdonia. Mrs Lees from Rochdale (July 2015)
A lovely comfortable cottage which was tastefully decorated. Very central, ideal for touring North Wales. Mrs Richards from Sheffield (May 2015)
The property was spacious, beautiful and cosy. There was a good size TV and bed and the cooking utensils were more than we expected in a self-catering accommodation. We would definitely come back again...well worth the money! Miss Ashton from Lutterworth (May 2015)
Stayed bank holiday week at this lovely cottage. Right in the centre of Bala and a couple of minutes walk from the lake. The cottage is a beautifully renovated former workhouse. Very contemporary in design and well decorated. The bedroom is on a mezzanine level above the living area. The cottage is in a courtyard with 5 others behind a locked gate so secure too. The freeview has very imited channels but this was fine with us as we didnt go to Wales to watch TV ! There is no parking space specifically assigned to the cottage but we had no problem in getting a space directly outside. Otherwise you can park in the car park across the street but this is £7.50 a day which adds up if you need to park there for a week. We would definitely return to the cottage and felt it to be in an ideal position to tour North Wales. Bala itself has a few pubs and eateries with friendly locals who made us welcome. foolgirl (May 2015)
Beautiful cottage which was well equipped, spacious, cosy and a very pleasant place to stay. The sofa was large and very comfortable, and the TV was a reasonable good size too. The kitchen cupboards were well stocked with (more than just) essentials, such as salt, sugar, ketchup, pasta, gravy and much more. The range of cooking utensils provided was more than adequate...I comfortably managed to cook a roast dinner on Sunday. The cottage was only a 2 minute walk from the local Co-op and village (or town?) centre with Post Office, Petrol Station, gift shops and pubs. My only criticisms were that the wifi speed occasionally slowed and the shower pressure was poor. Also the public car park opposite was actually £7.50/day rather than £2.50 which has obviously be raised by the local council, but we were able to park right outside the cottage door for the entire week and didn't pay a penny for public parking. Bear in mind if you try to view this property on Google Maps, you will not find it...it is not there! Would definitely recommend this place for a holiday. It is very homely and welcoming and good value for money! Lucy A (May 2015)
A fabulous property, wish we could have stayed the week! Bennett from Crediton (April 2015)
Accommodation and location was amazing, looking to come back in the summer and would stay here again. Mrs Hill from Warminster (February 2015)
The cottage was beautiful, a real home from home. Comfortably furnished in an excellent location for amenities and walking on the doorstep. Easy access to the coast too. Mrs Cullen from Warrington (May 2014)
A really nice conversion of an old industrial building with an enormous interior courtyard setting. Very well furnished, spacious and comfortable. Great location in a quiet street, yet only a minutes walk into the centre of town to the Co-Op. Mrs Perryman from Stanford-Le-Hope (April 2014)
It was a fantastic cosy cottage, well furnished and in a gorgeous location just a moment from the lake. The owners were very helpful in advance in letting me know what equipment was already there to help cook Christmas dinner. They had even decorated the cottage beautifully for Christmas including a tree. Miss Fenner from Nottingham (December 2013)
Excellent cottage, large comfy sofa and bed. Local shops close by and location was good for days out. Great place to stay, really enjoyed out stay and we were able to relax. Mr Jones from Aldershot (October 2013)
Lovely conversion and location, very handy for all the shops, restaurants, pubs and the lake. Would love to return again. Mrs Oliver from Wirral (September 2013)
Lovely modern cottage, very surprised to find it so spacious. Very light and airy feel, due to the large sky lights. Cottage is in great location, lovely little village which is nice and quite. There is a small supermarket very near to the property which is very useful. Mr Root from Halstead (August 2013)
A really nice cottage, lovely furnished and very comfy. The location is good, next to a supermarket but in a small town, so it won't be loud at night. Just a few minutes of walking and you're looking at beautiful Bala Lake. Allows for a relaxing and pleasant stay in Wales. Mr Cloesges from Bern (July 2013)
Enjoyed the surroundings, and the neat and tidy cottage that was up to date. Mr Portier from Aartrike (July 2013)
Lovely open space which was great to relax in as it rained a lot! Mrs Jones from Leicester (September 2012)
Great property. Great countryside. Mr Jay from Romford (September 2012)
We spent the Jubilee weekend at this cottage - couldn't fault it! Great location - 5 mins walk to the lake from the front door and 2 mins from the pub and shops! Despite the weather being predictable for a bank holiday, the cottage was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day walking/climbing. Beautifully decorated and although right on the road, wonderfully peaceful. Open-plan aspect was great and the sofa was fantastically comfortable! A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2012)
This is a lovely property and is situated in a prime location in Bala. The accommodation is very modern clean and confortable. A FlipKey verified reviewer (September 2012)
Stunning cottage, comfortable and well located. Mrs Pedler from Blackpool (August 2012)
This property was outstanding! Mrs Thomas from Swansea (July 2012)
