For a family holiday in Rome, you can't beat a holiday apartment to stay in.
There's more room for the family in an apartment, compared to a hotel room. And
with an apartment you get a fully functional kitchen - granted, you may not want to spend
your holiday in Rome preparing a three course dinner, but it's handy to knock up snacks to keep everyone
going for that walk to the Colosseum!
On a recent family holiday to Rome we stayed at "RomExperience Borgo Pio" apartment. This lovely apartment easily sleeps 4
people, and was superbly located for our first Rome family holiday.
The RomExperience Borgo Pio apartment is set in a rustic and traditional block, with the inside of the apartment being modern and
spotless - with a couple of double bedrooms, huge shower room, living room/dining room/kitchen area. The kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave,
dish washer and a fridge. With enough utensils to see you through.
The block itself is traditional - everybody will have different ideas about what a traditional
apartment should be, but RomExperience Borgo Pio apartment is exactly what we hoped for!
Setting of RomExperience Borgo Pio apartment
The setting of RomExperience Borgo Pio is in the "Borgo" area of Rome, very close to the Vatican. The street has an assortment of
restaurants, cafes and shops. There is also a supermarket (not a Tesco warehouse size, more of a small Tesco Metro style) which is
handy for those wanting snacks and milk.
Close to the attractions
Crucially, what you really need from an apartment is that it is in a good location - it's no good having a superb apartment,
only to find that all the attractions you want to visit are a 30 minute
taxi ride away. You'll be pleased to hear that you don't have that problem with RomExperience Borgo Pio apartment! Set a
30 second walk from the Vatican walls; you can access St Peter's Basilica in 200 yards, with the Vatican entrance
being 800 yards.
You can't get much closer to St Peters Basilica that with RomExperience Borgo Pio apartment!
Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps...
All of Rome's favourites are the other side of the River Tiber: The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps. During our
holiday at RomExperience Borgo Pio, we walked to all the attractions. It's probably a couple of miles through Rome's street to access
The Colosseum (the furthest attraction from RomExperience Borgo Pio). But you get to experience all the sights and sounds on the way.
Should you balk at a 2 mile walk, there is a metro station 800 yards from RomExperience Borgo Pio; with another metro station at the
RomExperience Borgo Pio in a nutshell
With two double bedrooms, RomExperience Borgo Pio is perfect for two couples looking to explore Rome. With a row of cushions
placed down the middle, one of the double beds is perfect for the children too. RomExperience Borgo Pio is clean and modern,
with the building being traditional Rome. Would we stay here again, that's the big question? If and when we return to Rome, I would certainly book
RomExperience Borgo Pio for our holiday.
The Colosseum, one of the most popular attractions in Rome, is a 2 mile walk from RomExperience Borgo Pio apartment
