If you're looking for a hotel in Edinburgh for a few days away with the family, have a look at the Edinburgh Park Premier Inn. You get all the normal Premier Inn facilities (read more about the Premier Inn facilities here). There is also free parking at the Edinburgh Park Premier Inn. However the two main reasons we picked this particular Premier Inn for a couple of nights on a road trip round Scotland were:
Close to the main arterial roads - easy to to get to.
Fantastic public transport into Edinburgh, so no driving into the centre of the city
Park at Edinburgh Park Premier Inn and abandon the car
The Edinburgh Park Premier Inn is next to the Edinburgh Park railway station. This was the overriding reason to stay at this cheap Edinburgh hotel. Literally 30 seconds from the front door of the hotel and you enter the station. Although, as it happens, we didn't use the train. The Edinburgh Tram has a stop at Edinburgh park, with the tram going right through to Princes Street in the very heart of Edinburgh; and for £8.50 for a family ticket (3 adults and 2 children) giving unlimited tram and Lothian Bus access - this is definitely the way to travel.
