For a family cottage holiday on Suffolk's east coast, it's well worth having a look at The Beech House in Lowestoft. Actually, The Beech House is in a small village on Lowestoft's outskirts called Corton. The Beech House sleeps 8 people and has its own outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub!
The beach is a short walk from The Beech House, the photo below shows Corton Beach. There is a large pub in Corton too (The Corton Inn - again shown in a photo below) which also serves food. There is a large supermarket a 5 minute drive from The Beech House - or an easy walk / cycle ride along the paths. Talking of cycling, if you're a fan of cycling this is an ideal place to spend a few days. Lowestoft has a plethora of cycle routes, so you easily get into town, or to Lowestoft seafront on the off-road cycle routes. Or cycle along the coast road to Gorleston. You can even walk / cycle to Pleasewood Hills Theme Park from The Beech House.
Other attractions on the area include Great Yarmouth (with plenty of seaside action), Oulton Broad where you can hire a motor cruiser, or head a little further away for a day at BeWILDerwood.
