The River Waveney leads into the Norfolk Broads, and you can hire a motor cruiser to explore the Broads. The city of Norwich is a short drive, and has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants to choose from; and Norwich Castle museum too.
The east coast can easily to accessed from River End Cottage, with Great Yarmouth providing you with all the action you could possibly want from a day at the seaside. Or, for a quieter day out, a walk in Southwold could be called for.
Should you have children in tow, it's well worth spending the day at BeWILDerwood near Horning.
