Craigcaffie Tower is a Scottish castle, built in 1570 by the Neilsons, who were descendants from Neil, Earl of Carrick; who was the illegitimate son of Robert the Bruce! The land on which Craigcaffie Tower has been built on was given to Neil by Robert the Bruce. All this means that Craigcaffie Tower has an abundance of history running through it! Now this fantastic building has been converted into a holiday cottage sleeping 6 people in 3 bedrooms - so you can enjoy some of that olde worlde charm yourself.
Craigcaffie Tower occupies a quiet location in Wigtownshire, south west Scotland. The banks of Loch Ryan are less than a mile from Craigcaffie Tower. Cairnryan is 4 miles up the coast, and is home to the Stena Sealink ferry to Ireland - which means you can even pop across to Ireland for the day. The large town of Stranraer is 4 miles down the coast, and has a grand choice of pubs, restaurants and shops.
There are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore the great outdoors with beaches, forests and hills to walk; for the cyclists out there, 7Stanes is close by too.
Due to the Gulf Stream which warms this part of Wigtownshire, you'll find some lovely gardens to visit, including Logan Botanical Gardens.
There are 3 bedrooms at Craigcaffie Tower, which are made up of a double, twin, and a bunk bedroom. All of which means Craigcaffie Tower sleeps 6 people.
Craigcaffie Tower allows your pet to holiday with you too.
The living room has a TV and open fire. There is also a wooden floor and original beams. The ktichen/dining room has a cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and a stone floor. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer too.
Craigcaffie Tower has central heating, Wi-Fi, wuth your bed linen and towels included.
Outside Craigcaffie Tower is set in 1¼ acres of grounds, with a lawned garden and patio area with a barbeque and patio furniture.
Holidays at Craigcaffie Tower start on a Saturday, with short breaks also available.
