Owners were lovely and very helpful when assistance was needed. nice accommodation with some nice touches, a dvd player may be helpful due to internet difficulties but that would need to be in advert so that customers could take dvd's. a little more clarification on spa access would be nice. cafe next door had lovely food and staff. Karen from Kidderminster (27 August 2018)
Lovely little cottage in a beautiful spot. Really enjoyed talking to a few locals. Exactly what we wanted which was a relaxing holiday. Hilary from Reading (17 August 2018)
Lovely cottage in a truly stunning spot, about 20 seconds from a gorgeous loch. The house itself is beautifully decorated and has plenty of parking (using the car park for the tea rooms next door, which don't create any noise problems at all). it has a big bathroom and plenty of storage throughout the owners are really friendly and helpful too. . the only downsides were the strange lack of tea towels (which the owners would have sorted had we asked, i'm sure) and the tv. The property has sky q with all the channels under the sun, but the connection isn't strong enough and it cut out constantly all week. Very frustrating as all we wanted after a busy day exploring was a nice sit-down in front of corrie. The wifi was good, though. Other negatives include occasional door slamming from the owner's house next door and the lack of hot water sometimes from the taps (no such problem with the shower). it would have also been nice to have had a dvd player (especially because of the tv situation) and possibly some board games as well, as that is something most holiday cottages do offer. . overall, though, this property offers extremely good value for money and I would definitely stay again! This ideal accommodation is situated in a most beautiful part of the trossachs and is in a good position for travelling to other parts of scotland. it has the advantage of being adjacent to a nice cafe for anyone wishing to avoid home catering. David (06 July 2018)
Lovely quiet location. actually attached to the wee blether tea room. no washing machine. we used the one at the hotel 1/2 mile down the road. no longer allowed to use the leisure facilities at the hotel. Compact bedroom with fitted sheet that was way too small for the mattress. welcome pack was an opened pint of milk, opened butter and tea and coffee. these are just little things but were advertised as a selling point. Having said this, we would stay again purely for its location. Jayne from East Midlands (22 June 2018)
The cottage was like home from home. Very well set out and decorated. Was surprised to get sky tv even if at times we lost connection. A few small things would have made our stay better as in a toaster, a frying pan, and some glass tumblers of some kind not just wine glasses. The area is absolutely beautiful most of the lochs are close by. The wee blether cafe next door did amazing cakes, scones and breakfast which we enjoyed a few times. The owners were very friendly and help full. Samantha from Worksop (02 June 2018)
Overall a warm welcome and comfortable cottage with easy access to great walking and beautiful scenery. . the staff of the wee blether (owner's cafe next door) were very friendly and helpful as well as serving good food, especially great cakes and coffee. Perfect after a day's walking. . nearest shops and pub are 5 miles away in aberfoyle but easy to access with a car. We would definitely return to the cottage and area. June from Frimley (18 May 2018)
Cwtch doon is in a great quiet setting next to loch ard. Quiet location but plenty of walks and activities nearby. A great base to explore the trossachs. The attached wee blether cafe is a must see. Great welcome and great food. If you want a quiet break in idyllic surroundings - this is for you. My wife and I said we would go back again. Which is unusual for us. Recommended! Julian from Tiverton (08 May 2018)
Very nice location, property was good. Comfortable, well maintained. Had one very small problem but the owners sorted that very quickly and we had a wonderful time. Added bonus was the wee blether tearoom right next door which served lovely cakes and the breakfast was very nice too. Would recommend this property to anyone. Janet from South Uist (13 April 2018)
We enjoyed our stay in september. The cottage is in a fabulous location close to scenic loch ard with wonderful views on the 4 mile cycle ride into aberfoyle. . . the cottage is very well equipped particularly in the kitchen; the bathroom is enormous but the bedroom we found quite tiny and there was no wardrobe to hang our clothes. . the cottage is quite dark inside not helped by small windows and dark paint; and the lights could be brighter especially in the bathroom. . we enjoyed our cycle rides both on numerous local forest trails and on quit roads over dukes pass to loch katrine and back via stronlachar.a very scenic round of 32 miles and a slightly longer day round via drymemn and balmaha taking a ferry over loch lomond to luss and returning on a ferry to inversnaid and return. . we would stay again but hope next time the lighting could be improved. Dave from Stoke On Trent (16 September 2016)
A great location. Very quiet. Cottage clean and well kept. Next to the owners tearoom which you must try. Carl from Ipswich (26 August 2016)
Great cottage in a fantastic location. Rich and shona are excellent people and made us feel very welcome and went beyond their duty to ensure that we had a great holiday. Their tea room is a must and the added bonus of access to the local pool, sauna and steam room is a lovely addition. The location was just what we wanted, amazing place. Excellent holiday. Owners were very accommodating. Great to have access to the leisure centre and the added bonus of use of canoe to explore the loch. Would stay again and recommend to anyone. Ben from Liverpool (22 July 2016)
The location of the cottage is perfect. on an idyllic loch with mountain bike, running and walking trails on the doorstep, and loch lomond just a short drive away. the owners of the cottage could not have done more to make us feel welcome. fantastic tea shop next door too! Simon from Leeds (02 October 2015)
We enjoyed our break at cwtch doon. We were able to switch off and enjoy the area along with access to the spa at macdonald foresthills with the tastiest cakes just feet away at the wee blether tearoom. The cottage is attached to the owners home but has its own access. There is an internal door to the owners property from the cottage but this was locked on our arrival and aside from the occasional dog bark and washing machine you wouldn't have known. The area is great for walks and the views are spectacular. . the owners shona and rick are super friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. The price for booking this accomadation is reasonable especially given the unlimited access to the spa half a mile away. Cwtch doon is perfect for couples who enjoy walking and relaxing with a pool/spa,which was us!! Lydia from Alloa (25 September 2015)
Comfortable, very clean, well equipped property. Lots of thoughtful little extras like bath robes, lots of towels, tea and coffee etc. Warm welcome after a longish journey, of tea and cake. Only very minor criticism is that a few instructions re appliances and how to access the spa would have been helpful. Many thanks for a memorable week. Maggie from Leeds (18 September 2015)
A small but comfortable cottage with good facilities and scrupulously clean. Pleasant and helpful owners. Good location for walking. Bonus in the access to the local health club's swimming pool. No mobile phone coverage but the village has a telephone box. A good place to stay for a quiet and relaxing break. Peter from Ipswich (24 July 2015)
Welcome at the café next door was excellent and very friendly. accommodation lovely just a little dark. we had a lovely short break in a beautiful part of scotland. Susan from Carnforth (13 July 2015)
