It was lovely and quite lots of things to see and do in the area would definitely come gain.
Samantha (17 September 2016)

Great location everything was just great
Philip (16 September 2016)

Only stayed 2 nights out of 7..! too much noise outside caravan, the first night there was talking until 5am. Caravans very close together and too noisy which unsettled the dog.
Natalie (16 September 2016)

A good sited park. Nice size and very friendly helpful staff.
Yvette from Hemel Hempstead (16 September 2016)

Our stay at winchelsea sands was as lovely as we expected it is close to home for us and set in an ideal location
Stephen from Gillingham Kent (12 September 2016)

Maureen from Gillingham Kent (09 September 2016)

Very good value for money. We loved rye and the accommodation here was very clean, staff were helpful and friendly and the facilities were good
Nicky from Upminster (03 September 2016)

Apart from having to clean the caravan ourselves as it was filthy overall the holiday was great
Carol from Crawley (03 September 2016)

Loved holiday going back next year xxx
Valerie from Portsmouth (29 August 2016)

Lovely caravan pleasant site but need a car to get anywhere
Jayne from Dudley (26 August 2016)

Small but pleasant site. Kids enjoyed the toddler time each morning. Short walk to the (pebble) beach at winchelsea, short drive to camber sands. Enjoyed visits to hastings and rye.
Customer 11 from London (13 August 2016)

We had a lovely week visitng all the surrounding coastal resorts.
Gillian from Swindon (30 July 2016)

Lovely weekend with the kids, small enough site to just be very family orientated which is what we were looking for
Nicola from Crowborough (25 July 2016)

A thoroughly enjoyable stay among cheerful residents, staff and visitors. Will most certainly return
Gordon from Eastbourne (23 July 2016)

A good base to holiday, not much to do on camp, entertainment venue to small. Not worth the amount we played for the holiday. But we love rye and surrounding area
Steve from Southwater (23 July 2016)

Club house was shut one afternoon, hot food we ordered was served still half frozen. Caravan was dirty and surfaces was sticky.
Lee (17 June 2016)

I managed to get a midweek break away for under £100, so can't complain about value for money.
Tracy from Rochester, Kent (17 June 2016)

We enjoyed our stay at winchelsea sands very much. The staff were helpful and the caravan was clean and tidy. The park itself is very close to both rye and hastings, not to mention 1066 country so there's plenty to do. And the beach is very close to the park, in fact just a stroll away and if you have your dogs with you then you'll have no problems as it is dog friendly. The only down side to our holiday was on the friday when there was a weekend change over and the two caravans opposite us were taken by (supposedly the same family) but the 6 from one and the 6 from the other soon turned in to 20 by the time their visitors turned up and they were barbacueing and partying until 3am on both friday and saturday. But, this has not put us off, we enjoyed the park so much we will return.
Ruth from Bicester (13 June 2016)

Had an amazing time. Staff at reception helpful and friendly. bar and entertainment staff very welcoming. Thank you all xx
Patrick from Fleet (23 May 2016)

This unlovely park could benefit from a substantial injection of money. There is a distinct lack of greenery and flowerbeds or indeed anything that might give the site a degree of attractiveness. I've seen more landscaping in a tesco carpark -really. You're not allowed to park next to your caravan so be prepared to have to carry your luggage across what may well be a muddy and rutted field. Our caravan was surrounded by other caravans with absolutely no view whatsoever, unless you happen to enjoy watching all the seagulls. Entertainment on our first night consisted of having to listen to the occupants of a nearby caravan, presumably having spent a hard evening drinking in the club, conducting a loud voiced argument with their neighbours. On the plus side, the park is situated in a nice part of the country with an fine nature reserve only a short distance away, but I don't suppose many people would be interested in that.
Andrea from Yorkshire (20 May 2016)

The location is fabulous, and we preferred a smaller site. Going early on in the season we had no problem with parking near the caravan within the car park. On entering the caravan there were some crumbs & bits on the settee & floor which needed a bit of a sweep & hoover but it was very quickly remedied and the staff were more than helpful. Everywhere else was clean. All round a thoroughly enjoyable week and I would definitely book again. We booked last minute and got a good deal, so very good value for money.
Marlane from Poole (09 May 2016)

Okay but wouldn't go again. there are better sites.
William from Stratford Upon Avon (29 April 2016)

Builders woke us up every morning, with caravan shaking. When we spoke to office they just laughed it off.
Graham from Eastbourne (25 March 2016)

Good cheap family holiday great staff entertainment for kids good food could be better but ok for price well recomended
Sadie from Seaford (14 March 2016)

We had a wonderful 4 days here, everything was great, the caravan, location. The staff were awesome and very friendly.. the only thing I thought could improve was the size of the clubhouse could do with being bigger and more things for 11 year old to do.otherwise we had a perfect holiday.
Siobhan from London (02 November 2015)

It was a lovely area with lovely scenery but very challenging going out and about with 7 people, with no local railway station and keeping 3 teenagers and a lively 5 year old was challenging. facilities were limited. also we were led to believe that wifi was included but it wasn't. the accommodation was quite damp. the staff were very helpful. the beach was lovely. there wasn't a gift shop nearby.
Rodney from Edenbridge (30 October 2015)

Not being able to park your car at caravan to unpack car park and path to van very dark .
Jacky from Livingston (30 October 2015)

Only used as a base, as we went out all day. Didn't use the clubhouse as had a dog. Weather was great.
Michelle from Northampton (30 October 2015)

Handy for rye town. Everything we needed for a short break. Most enjoyable.
Ruth from Romney Marsh Kent. (26 October 2015)

We found the caravan wasn`t to clean and the ground round the vans was very muddy.
Margaret from Ruislip Middlesex (23 October 2015)

Nice place to be could do with paths to vans
Jon from Scunthorpe (23 October 2015)

Very good price and really friendly staff nice new clean static home . would go again
Wendy from Newhaven (16 October 2015)

Whole site was flooded. Car parking very limited. Caravan full of mildew.
Kelly from Norfolk (19 September 2015)

I had a disabled lady with us we had a distance to the car from the caravan there was dust on the cuboards rubbish under the cooker there was a large gap from bottom step to the ground causing trouble for the disabled lady.
Susan (14 September 2015)

Car parking could be a lot better
David from Market Harborough (12 September 2015)

A lovely holiday ,the beach was in easy reach and the shop was just a few yards away we will come again
Maureen from Gillingham Kent (12 September 2015)

David from Market Harborough (12 September 2015)

I know you can't help the weather, but it was almost flooded and not much was done other than putting some boards down that really didn't do much. My shoes got ruined.

Unfortunately the site has not got a great deal to do and is very limited in activities, car parking and just general facilities. . it looks tired and needs some investment. . to top it off it rained for 5 days, completely out of the parks control, however we were flooded and surrounded by water and we did not see one staff member to help or assist in my opinion enough was not done quickly to resolve the flooding

We spent our holidays in winchelsea, we were there for two weeks and had a silver caravan. Everything was fine and clean, the staff was polite and helpful. We did not use the restaurant very often, only for a drink in the evening, because we are vegan. So we enjoyed cooking with the gas oven in our caravan. The park was nice and staff was cleaning it every morning. The gulls were crying every morning, but we really love this. There is a co-operative supermarket round the corner with everything for your daily needs. The beach is near and nice, but stony, we enjoyed to visit camber sands which is an amazing beach nearby. The surrounding is amazing, all the small villages with their ancient houses and churches.. all the gardens and the sea.. we visited eastbourne, brighton, seven sisters and beachy head, rye, canterbury, ashford.. we also spent three days in london. We can really recommend winchelsea beach for your stay!
Daniela from Bremen Germany (24 August 2015)

Lovely holiday park in beautiful surroundings the only downfall is entertainment is not really for teenagers and the pool shuts early at 5pm

I've been to lots of caravan holidays.at least 25years. the camp is nice. Parking though is horrendous. Not a lot on site for kids. Amusements in a tiny room and half time were not working and change machines empty. the day we arrived we went to restaurant, half what we ordered was sold out. There is not a lot in the area to do so a car is a must. I also went for silver caravan, usually we go bronze. beds were meant to be made up and weren't and was very small caravan for up to 6. No room!!!. apart from my small gripe it's a lovely area for walks, although hilly. But wouldn't advise with kids. They'd get easily bored.

The caravan we were allocated was very run down. Wallpaper was peeling off walls and windows didn't have locks on them. We did take a dog so didn't expect the ritz, but for the money we paid for 4 nights we were expecting more. The site was very clean and tidy. We don't have children so never tried the pool or entertainment but did eat breakfast in the club house one morning which was nice, if not a little overpriced but that's the norm for caravan sites. There wasn't a lot to do in the local area other then long walks along the beach. One pub next door, a coop and restaurant just down the road and that's really it without driving or getting a taxi. We made the best of what we had and enjoyed our self's but would not be going back. The night security guard and his dog were very friendly, always polite and willing to help.

Although this park is pet friendly people do not pick up the dog poo, the park was filthy and smelly as were the caravans. I had to buy bleach and clean thoroughly. The ground around each caravan was undulating and therefore a quick wiz with the lawn mower doesn't work. I realise the caravan park has recently been taken over by park holidays..but I would recommend not to book here for at least another 2 years..it needs to be closed down, all the old vans got rid of and the ground turned over. All the waste bins were full and smelly and were not emptied the week we stayed. The caravan we booked was classified as silver, if you are going on holiday here and have just booked upgrade now..but it will still be smelly. All the mattresses are very very old and lumpy, the furniture was faded and stained..disgusting and worst holiday ever. We will never go back. We are pensioners and could not park the car outside the caravan, we had to park in the car park and carry everything through long grass full of dog poo..

The car parking was dreadful. There were too many cars for the size of the car park, and if you were lucky enough to get a space, it was a nightmare to get into it and out of it. You couldn't park at the side of you van either, and where out van was, we couldn't sit outside because we were only about 3 feet from the from of the parked cars. We had a warm week and had to have to door open, and felt a bit like fish in a gols fish bowl as people parking and traversing the car park looked straight into our van.

All in all a good holiday. Have stayed here before and it has always been fine. The same recurring complaint though is the one of a serious lack of parking in peak seasons, and it is a shame to see the site has done nothing to address this issue. It was so bad this time that it might be the only factor putting me off holidaying there again. Apart from this, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the caravan excellent, and the location is great - very handy to so many attractions and beaches.
Christopher from London (06 April 2015)

Handy for local towns and hastings bigggerthan I thought

The caravan was nice and even better when the park staff showed us where the heaters were in the bedrooms. The staff could not have been more helpful and the entertainment staff were brilliant. The onsite breakfast was ok but not very big a little disappointing the pizza however that I had one evening was beautiful and hugh great value for money. The only thing I would say is staff could have considered which caravan to put us in more carefully. There was work going on outside our caravan from early each morning which woke us all up this was a little bit of a downer as you go on holiday for a bit of a sleep in. But I would like to say I would stay there again a great holiday had by us all made better by the attentive entertainment staff. Thank you all.

Suzanne from Leicester (27 March 2015)

Very nice caravan, brand new ,warm and comfortable.but outside the van it was a building site as new paths were being made, so dumpers and mini diggers were working just inches, yes inches from the van we were in.spoil being taken away chewed up the grass right outside the van and the car park was a real mess, this made our holiday stay uncomfortable.why was this work done in the opening season?

We had to cut our holiday short as my father was taken very sick. However the 4 days we were there were quiet and relaxed. We would love to return in the future

We have stayed at winchelsea several times over the last few years, mainly for mini-bre aks and I must say although we enjoyed our break and the staff were polite,we did have quite a bit of trouble upon reaching the site this time.normally as stated,we can get into our caravan at around 4pm,but although friday 13th march ( our 1st day ) was winchelseas first day of being open to the public, for some strange reason none of us could get the keys to get in until getting on for 5pm !surely everything should have been up and running on this 1st day of opening,if not early, then at least on time.many people were starting to get extremely irate by this matter and it did not make for a good start to the break! another thing I feel needs mentioning is something I have written about before when doing these feedbacks re.winchelsea.although as I said before,we enjoy the place and location in general, myself and other people around us were saying that a few concreted pathways inbetween the caravans would be most helpful, especially in the wet weather, not only to stop our shoes getting covered in grass and mud whilst walking to and fro,but also to keep the caravans much cleaner in general.anyway apart from those 2 gripes,we still had a lovely break and have no complaints regarding the staff ,who were always polite and cheerful.

Nice location for us as dog owners
Robin from Leicester (22 September 2014)

Caravan was dirty and needs a good clean in 25 years of holidays with you never had a dirty place like that
Kevin from Ebbw Vale (12 September 2014)

Lovely family friendly environment, staff were really friendly and made you feel welcome the childrens entertainment and activities were excellent as were the entertainers themselves. The pool was great and again staff were really great. Overall I would highly recommend this site and I will loook forward to staying here again.
Sarah (30 August 2014)

W e were stranded in our caravans for 2 days due to a flood around both of our vans. You could only get out of the van without shoes on. I know that you have to make do with the weather but for the caravans to be at a lower level than the drains is totally unacceptable. We were more than surprised to find hardly anything to do for the children, in fact over 1/2 of the machines in the arcade were not working and we could not find the childrens swings etc. Saying this we found the outdoor pool very warm and very welcoming.
Alfred from Swanscombe (30 August 2014)

Car parking is a nightmare. They give you the entertainment guide but they are the wrong times. My son missed all the kids entertainment. They don't welcome your child to join in the kids activities unless they over 5. Lucy the entertainment manager is very rude and ignorant. Caravan was really cold and freezer didn't work. If it rained the water came through the caravan vents and the floor got soaking.
Claire from London (25 August 2014)

My only complaint with the park was the lack of parking. Most sites we visit you can park by your caravan this is not the case here and there only just seems to be enough parking spaces.
Rachel from Crewe (18 August 2014)

A very expensive long weekend in a nice but not very clean caravan. surroundings delightful, staff helpful.
Donna (18 August 2014)

For what I paid for this holiday I was extremely disappointed. The facilities were of a very low standard and the family club area was not of a family holiday standard. There was nothing for young children apart from a very small fruit machine area half of which were broken. I've had better holidays on a sun holiday £10 deal. Worst family holiday complex i've ever been to. The only saviour was we had our cars so we could take the children out every day to other seaside areas. Grossly over priced accommodation for the lack of facilities there. Never again and I would certainly not recommend this as a family holiday complex.
Angela from London (18 August 2014)

The static home was over looked by every window. No privacy. No parking places in evening. Kerbstones to high damaged car .intimidated by other male guests. Bar and entertainment was excellent also pool area .
Stephen from Worthing (09 August 2014)

Beach was disappointing. It was not made clear that there was limited access to the beautiful heated outdoor pool, which we enjoyed once we had queued to get in!!! no choice of places to eat in the vicinity. Difficult to find a parking place when returning in the evening, although much of the accommodation was un occupied.
Margaret (08 August 2014)

Very very nice staff and pool man. The club house was small enough to keep an eye on your child but big enough to entertain. The sea close enough to get too, as was rye.
Richard from Bracknell (08 August 2014)

Park facilities terrible. Childrens playground was not up-kept, pool is way too small to accommodate all the caravans on site, the amusements were broken and not working, there's no shop onsite, and the restaurant had an hours wait for food right in the middle of dinner, as well as rude staff. Not acceptable during peak hour dinner service. The location of the park, though, was excellent.
Stuart from Redhill (01 August 2014)

We were there with our 2 children in july 2014. The place is fine for grown ups but our children were bored. There is only one playground (not two as advertised) and is a bit old and need major refurbishment. The swimming pool is small but it is great to have something at all to entertain the kids.
Kamila from Glasgow (26 July 2014)

Windows were filthy and caravan has had some sort of makeover would not class this as a silver would barely make a bronze
Robert from Middlesex (11 July 2014)

The food was cold in the café however the staff were very nice. Could do with indoor pool as ducks were in the outside one. Our caravan was very clean and tidy.for what we paid for a short break it was good value. The weather was not great so could have done with wi fi in the caravan. We enjoyed it anyway.
Sharon from Essex (11 July 2014)

Very enjoyable 5 day break and pleased to be able to take the dog.
Brian from Farnborough Hampshire (27 June 2014)

Lovely location and ideal if you want a holiday on a smaller caravan site. Everybody really friendly and even though we went at a quieter time, there was still a full entertainment schedule.
Jackie from London (07 September 2013)

This site is fantastic for children and adults alike! swimming pool is clean, staff are friendly, evening entertainment is great, food is reasonably priced and there are lots of things to do on the campsite.
Dawn from Southend On Sea (02 September 2013)

We had an excellent holiday. we particularly enjoyed watching wreck it ralph on the big screen outside whilst sat on our picnic blanket with a bottle of wine. it's a great place for kids, ours made lots of friends and we felt safe enough to let them go to the play area by themselves. Great location, only a short walk to the beach. the ship is only a short walk away and serves delicious food.
Annika from Blackburn (24 August 2013)

The only good points about this holiday were the surrounding area ie hastings and rye
Harry from Milton Keynes (24 August 2013)

Close to beach. Close to amenities. Family entertainment. Fantastic reception ladies
Michael from Didcot (02 August 2013)

Very nice location, easy to reach, nice people, supermarket is near
Jan from Heerhugowaard, Netherlands (29 July 2013)
