Accommodation could have been cleaner. Didn't seem to be enough team on at night . we just felt out the way in the van we stayed in.
Denise (07 September 2018)

The cabin was okay pity the oven didn’t work. The staff were something else , the bar was ran on one overworked teenager who seemed to be sick of her own life while the rest floated amlistly around the restaurant. The reception staff had no knowledge of daily events apart from the bingo. The chef well what can I say he wanted to charge us 50p for a slice of onion , i’m still waiting for the manager to talk to me in the bar sadly i’ve been home 2 weeks .
Carol from Bishop Auckland (03 September 2018)

Arrived and checked in all ok so far, we’re advised we may need to book swimming pool due to the high numbers of people on site. Thought we would go to our lodge then come back and book swimming, get to the lodge the lodge was very nice but a little dusty, no toilet paper in the toilet (not asking for the world but 1 roll to start people off would be nice) then found we had only been given 1 towel. Off we go to reception to ask for more, but first we had to him the que because we weren’t the only ones with limited towels. Was told by reception that the towel delivery was late and they would send some asap. Then off to try and book swimming, was told by a rather disgruntled member off staff (we were keeping him from his phone!) the pool was practically fully booked and they only had spaces for 2 people here and there but we’re a family of 3. Within an hour of check in the pool had been block booked by large groups. My child was rather upset by this as we could not go swimming as a family. Next to the onsite mini shop for some essentials, no milk or hand wash/soap was told the milk delivery was late and they only stocked essentials so no soap! once back at our lodge a car pulls up outside and a member of staff gets out and practically trows a bag of towels a me (if they had the towels why hadn’t they been distributed?) we decided to stay onsite for food a couple of times, before I ordered I was told that they were not running a full menu as the delivery was late (there is a theame here) food was good albeit a little expensive. could do with separtinf the bar from he entertainment as it’s not the best when trying to enjoy an evening meal with a bingo vibrating out of all speakers!. onsite playground had broken tyre swing and one swing completely missing. Lodge opposite had dogs who loved to bark at anything, also my child was approved by a dog not on the lead, rules must be more stringently enforced in regards to dogs. From day 1 the bins onsite were overflowing, we assumed that as it was day one they would be emptied. They must have been emptied but everyday there was new trash overflowing and the lids were unable to close. Management of the park was very poor. Considering the inflated prices charged during school holiday we were disappointed
Christine from Blackwood (31 August 2018)

Rydale 1 lodge could have been cleaner, outside requires a good clean up,we were near childrens play area so expected some noise but ball from arena area was continually kicked over landing on roof ,should have a higher screen. Entertainment was average, and we didnt use eating facility so cant comment,. otherwise it was a good cenrtal place to explore rest of lakes
Fred from Durham (31 August 2018)

The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was having to pre book the pool and not always getting in each day. also the jacuzi wasn't working. . other than that had an excellent holiday and would be happy to come back and have already recommended to friends and family.
Colette from Salford (31 August 2018)

Very good location very helpful staff. Parking at our lodge not great . the hot tub cold but was sorted asap . the actual interior of the lodge however wasn’t what we had booked ! we booked the typical one as advertised to find that that was the only one of its kind !! . the one we had was very basic lacking in areas with cleanliness they did send the cleaners in the next day but overall disappointed as the description was not what we paid for . the staff did however deal with most of our requests and were extremely helpful
Sarah from Hollington (27 August 2018)

The lodge was awful, shabby and run down, not clean, bed mattresses were cheap and very uncomfortable, the bathroom sink had a crack in the bowl the toilet flush kept jamming, one of the bedrooms leaked rain through side cladding.we were awoken at 2.30am on sunday by drunk people trying to find there lodge,we arrived saturday afternoon and checked out 10am monday after spending sunday finding alternative accommodation elsewere. We were refunded 5 days out of the 7 days we booked.
Stephen from Kent (25 August 2018)

Amazing location. Caravans generally need updating/repair. Caravans need proper cleaning. Beds are very small. Bedding doesn't fit the beds. Pool was at satisfactory temperature only 1 out of 4 swim sessions . pool facilities generally need repair . under-staffed restaurant. Food was good, and good value for money
Tyrel from Caravans Generally Need Updating/Repair (25 August 2018)

Lodge was dirty, for example kitchen cupboards had crumbs in and the glasses had been used and not cleaned . the hot tub was only half full and was only 30 degrees when we arrived. The carpets were stained . we paid extra to take a dog yet they didn’t provide anything for him
Pamela from Newcastle (25 August 2018)

Lodge well equipped & private. bedrooms slightly larger than a caravan. Activities for children were good, especially the pool based ones. Hot tub was a real treat after long days out. It was well maintained during our stay. Deer came up to the lodge, owls were heard but not seen. Club, restaurant & entertainment all fine. Drinks not too expensive. Nearness to brockhole activity centre is a big plus for this site.
Kathryn from Great Sutton (24 August 2018)

Great place, great location.
Richard from Gloucester (24 August 2018)

Only problem they give one of our lodges to some one else but entertainment was good
Andrew from Hartlepool (24 August 2018)

Lake was amazing but site not so much. Cabin was comfortable but I expected superior so thought would be bigger and closer to lake
Sue from North Shields (20 August 2018)

We are very disappointed
Fanny (18 August 2018)

A lovely break for the whole family. . we enjoyed the natural surroundings and where we were it was wonderfully quiet.
Peter from Jersey (18 August 2018)

With young children local to the area as a family we spend every summer vacation in the lake district, we chose white cross bay as an alternative to other well known holiday parks within the area which we normally use however was deeply disappointed based on the following points;. 1) only 45 minutes a day allowed for swimming which had to be pre-booked, this certainly is not advised on the brochure moreover issues with life guards attendance resulted in no swimming slots on various days being available, pool was overly cold however I guessed this was to restrict peoples desire to utilize the pool. 2) requested an outside picnic table however was advised they were all booked out (shouldn't they come standard). 3) caravan was in a very used condition inside, stains on sofa's etc. Ladle's etc. Required washing. 4) cleaners although scheduled did not once in two weeks change bedding regardless of report to main desk. 5) caravan was situated beside park employees caravan resulting in vehicles visiting at all hours day & in particular night. 6) using onsite laundry facilities was very expensive in comparison to other parks
Donald (17 August 2018)

Very clean comfortable lodge. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location on lakeside. Great clean pool with great life guards. Altogether a splendid place for a family holiday.
Susan from Blackpool (17 August 2018)

On arrival, the lodge was not ready for the agreed time, we were sent down to the lodge while staff were still cleaning. . lodge had no private parking as described in brochure. . hot tub had not been prepared and was not heating, having been told it would be ready by 6pm the water heating had not been enabled, we found this when we came to use it and therefore had to wait until the following day. . simple things like a tea towel and some washing up implements were not available and had to be purchased. . the lodge was adjacent to a building site meaning there was noise from plant and machinery from 7.30am every day, this also meant that the hot tub did not have the necessary privacy to be used during the day as it was overlooked by the building site. . food from the onsite facilities was of a poor standard with a limited choice.
James from Manchester (17 August 2018)

The park is in a brilliant location on the lake and between bowness and ambleside. it is a great base to tour the lakes from. the park is nice and the lodge was lovely - clean, very new and well equipped. the park was full (summer holidays) but stayed quiet around the accommodation. unfortunately as the park has expanded the central facilities have struggled to keep up. one evening the waiting time for food was 2 hours+ and having to book the 45 min swimming sessions on the day you arrived (to get any availability) is an annoyance. the stage and dancefloor, for those expecting a similar set up to other holiday parks, is tiny (few meters square). this didn't bother us because we were mostly out and about. I would go back out of high season when the facilities weren't as stretched, overall we had a lovely time.
Caroline (17 August 2018)

We stayed in a pet friendly caravan .2 bed..loved the caravan and the area but a few little details missed .there were 6 of us and not enough cups and plates..or extra clean bedding for the pull out bed .pans / frying pan and shelves could have been cleaner. The kids only had 3/4 of an hour in the pool a day and you had to book two days in advance. We did not eat in the restaurant or watch any entertainment..just didn't get round to it..overall we loved the location and watersports at windermere were very near .the best holiday I have been on with kids now they are older .age 16.13 and 10.and a very happy dog!.lots of walking. Watersports and beautiful views .
Julia from Gravesend (13 August 2018)

Nice location but not much activity to do onsite unless you go to nearby brockhole treetop for outdoor activities.
Pamela from London (13 August 2018)

Lodge was of poor standard for cost. Oven had no clear display of what knobs did to work oven. Taps in bathroom too small for sink no shelf under mirror. bed poor quality and very uncomfortable as husband 6 ft 4. Table had loose legs. Generally poor condition.
Tricia from Bletchley (11 August 2018)

Excellant value and site not far from towns too
Trevor from Dunstable (10 August 2018)

Fantastic place. Lovely clean lodge and beautiful location.
Joanne from Bolton (10 August 2018)

White cross bay is the perfect destination! i’m a returning customer for the last 16 years and it never disappoints! the drinks in the bar are a little pricey but other than that perfect destination for a break in the lakes! great caravan this time but have stayed in gold lodges, basic lodges etc done them all and all perfect! thank you!!!
Claire from Brighouse (10 August 2018)

Lacking in attention to detail. Kitchen ill equip, main bedroom mattress atrocious and when asked if something could be done was offered another duvet. Entertainment took over the restraint therefore not a great eating experience. Swimming pool and showers were cold as heater broken. Booked and wasn't told, didn't book again. could only use these facilities if booked in advance and there was no options of adult only swim in the evenings. paid top money as in august holidays but got average accommodation.
Nicola from Highbridge (10 August 2018)

Great location to be able to travel around the lake district, close proximity to windermere. Lodge very comfortable but perhaps in need of an update as it looked a little weathered on the outside & the decking had some small holes. The jacuzzi / spa at the pool was broken & apparently had been like this for over two weeks which seemed poor considering it was peak season! all in all though we had a great family holiday & would revisit.
John (06 August 2018)

Location was excellent but the caravan wasn't the best. It was spacious & that was the only good thing. It stunk of damp, beds were uncomfortable, sheets didn't fit beds properly, rubbish untensils in the kitchen (not after fancy items just the basics would have done) and all the cutains kept falling off the rails & looked awful. No spare bedding was given for the sofa bed & when we requested some we only got given a pack of sheets no pillows etc. Luckily I took a sleeping bag as I read on an earlier review the same thing happened to another family. I would go as far as to say it was the worst caravan we have stayed in. . I would stay on this site again but only in an upgraded lodge. . pool was fine but we had to prebook slots for a swim & couldn't get our kids onto any of the water activities on the second day of our arrival. Overall we had a good time but it is in no way a 5* site.
Sarah from Liverpool (03 August 2018)

Accommodation left a lot to be desired. facilities on site were quite good but perhaps not enough for the size of the site.
Pauline from Newcastle Upon Tyne (28 July 2018)

I have stayed at white cross bay prior to this and the lodge was of a higher standard, this lodge however is in need of updating, I complained about the state of the carpets which had stains on it also the decking was neglected had cigarette butts on it, the staff were helpful and responded to my complaint by power washing the decking and cleaning the carpet, also they apologised and said they would have upgraded us but they were fully booked. This lodge is not a true reflection of how it is advertised, I was very disappointed
Angela from Barrow-In-Furness (27 July 2018)

Beautiful surroundings but lodges very tired looking.
Janet from Manchester (27 July 2018)

Thought that the staff at the holiday camp was absolutely brilliant and the log cabin was clean and very well equipped and the location was very well located to surrounding areas the lake views were stunning and lovely wildlife and deer's in the area. Overall a very lovely holiday would definitely recommend to all.
David from Hythe (21 July 2018)

A lovely holiday had a whitecross bay. beautiful place and very helpful staff. We had a few issues with our lodge including bed slats being missing from the bed and there not being enough cutlery and plates. This was sorted within the hour, which was really impressive. It may be that they need to employ a a more efficient checking process of lodges after people leave to ensure that everything is as it should be, but cannot fault the staff in sorting out issues. Children's playground was lovely as was the pool. There were a few issues with pool temperature when we were there but they were sorted after a few days and we were told that there was a problem before we booked out pool slot. I saw before I booked that lots of people had complained about booking for the pool, but actually I think it is a very smart idea as it means that there are never too many people in the pool, making it a much more pleasant experience. All the lifeguards were lovely too!. would definitely recommend this place to a family with primary school age kids and younger - a great location for many attractions and you can go paddling in the lake as there is access from the site!
Chrissie (21 July 2018)

Loverly caravan .clean and comfortable and relaxing break
Susan from Liverpool (20 July 2018)

Great place.. this was booked to celebrate my mums 60th birthday. We had the lodge called 'tree top secret' it was absolutely gorgeous couldnt fault a thing apart from I did want to trim back some of the trees to let the sun on the decking area.. . restraunt was lovely loads of choice even for my 2 very fussy eaters. One night tho the coffee machine wasnt working which was a disappointment for my mum as she is a non drinker and was dying for a coffee lol.. also they stopped serving food at 8 due to some issue with the kitchen.. had a packet of biscuits between us so this was annoying. Quick call to a taxi firm who kindly picked up a chinese order for us.. . surrounding area was beautiful. Lots of lovely walks. and bowness on windermere just beauitful place. Took the boat trip around the lake. Would def return but for more than 5 days.. . thanks for the memories
Jillian (20 July 2018)

Lovely short break on this park. The caravan was comfortable and clean.
Christine from Market Harborough (20 July 2018)

Peacefully very nice caravan spotlessly clean
Hilary from Warrington (20 July 2018)

Over priced for accommodation which was extremely dirty and I had to personally clean with disinfectant before use. I did complain to staff
Gary (16 July 2018)

The site is well maintained, clean and tidy. Our lodge was lovely but there were dead flys splattered on walls, someone's dirty sock on the bedroom floor so not well cleaned between visitors. We had a 6 person lodge with only 4 forks, 3 tall glasses, 2 outside chairs and no dustpan and brush. We requested these items 3 times during our break and they never arrived. We asked our neighbours when they left of we could have their dustpan and brush instead!
Simon from Suffolk (14 July 2018)

We had a very good holiday here. conditions overall were very good. It was irritating that owners had certain privileges, particularly regarding the booking of the pool, over visitors. the biggest single problem was turning right (towards windermere) when leaving the site: the speed is 40mph, there was a bend in the road restricting the view to the left, and the road was at times very busy. we felt the site could have been kept a bit tidier. the lodge was excellent – everything needed was provided, and it was extremely clean on our arrival. views over the lake were of course superb.
Julie (13 July 2018)

First impressions of the lodge were not good. From the outside it was quite shabby and in need of a coat of varnish. Inside was fine. Very basic kitchen utensils but otherwise very satisfactory.
Lesley from North Wales (13 July 2018)

The lodge was pleasant but attention to details was below what we expected - no chopping board, only four mugs, total mish-mash of glasses and crockery, no serving dishes, no tea towels and we could continue for a long time with examples. Not what one expects of a luxury lodge. the outside furniture had not been cleaned and were very dirty. There was dirt under the table and settees (found sock, book and children’s toys.)
Su (13 July 2018)

You definitely need more staff in the bar/lounge area. it was ridiculous having to queue for drinks with only one member of staff behind the bar. . also, there was definite "scratchings" under the caravan no. 34 and 33. obviously rats or mice, but certainly off-putting to return to that area again.
Barbara from Chester (09 July 2018)

Property excellent!
Gary (09 July 2018)

On the plus side white cross bay is in a brilliant location being mid way between windermere and ambleside and close to troutbeck provides lots of options for exploring the area. it is very close to the visitor centre too which was well worth a visit. white cross bay was a lovely base and the lodges were fine with the hot tubs well maintained. on the negative side, the site was more dog tolerant than dog friendly - the on-site forest walk was just really just a stroll and you couldn't take your well behaved dogs into the restaurant/bar - so we didn't use the facilities as much as we would have. housekeeping also needs improvement - although the staff all appeared helpful, they did not sort issues out. for example, we were only provided with one hand towel/one bath towel for the full family and had to ask three times before this was resolved. we also enquired about extra bedding so we could use the bed settee in the lodge, but this was provided despite being told it would be. the lodges were also under provisioned - just one knife and fork each so no real need to provide a dishwasher unless you wanted to turn it on after each meal! however, overall it was a lovely setting in a good location and with just a little bit of improvement in housekeeping is capable of getting a much higher score. would recommend they allow pets into the restaurant/bar a couple of days a week to make it feel more dog friendly and/or provide information of local restaurants/pubs were dogs are allowed.
Anne-Marie (06 July 2018)

Had a wonderful holiday. The weather was amazing. First time I ever visited the lake district. Better than I expected. The caravan was spotless and comfortable.
Baker from Bristol (06 July 2018)

Very good, nice caravan
Michael from Prudhoe (06 July 2018)

Great place for families, caravan could have been cleaner found a lot of dead flies in the caravan especially on the floor and lots of cobwebs. Would visit again
Kelly from Middlesbrough (06 July 2018)

Lodges are a little tired but for 6 ladies visiting for a birthday celebration it was perfect..location is beautiful and 10 minutes taxi ride to restaurants and bars at bowness. Swimming pool is more for children but we still had a dip.also has a jaccuzi..steam room and sauna which were great! make sure you book your swimming sessions on arrival.
Tracey from Stockport (02 July 2018)

The lodges were lovely and comfortable, very clean on the inside. The restaurant was lovely and good value for money. Beds were comfy and bathroom was really big for a lodge. The hot tub was great! the food was gorgeous, the lake and views were lovely and the staff were very helpful. The only downside was the exterior of the cabin was very dirty, covered in cobwebs and dirt the terrace was filthy and we had to buy cleaning stuff to tidy it up a bit. Also for some reason the lodge had an oven but no baking trays so we had to buy them too.
Emma from Liverpool (25 June 2018)

White cross bay itself is lovely however the lodge was dirty and smelled damp. The fire alarm in the lodge was faulty and despite being fixed 3 time's kept going off at 6am every morning for 2 hours waking children up!. it hadn't been cleaned properly. Toilet's smelt old urine and dirty wrappers/food left under sofa and bed
Julie from Sunderland (22 June 2018)

Brilliant park and accommodation. Excellent base for seeing the lake district. Whole park immaculate.
Sarah from Hadston (22 June 2018)

The only slight disappointment was the food in the bar but everything else was great. The hot tub was great and checked twice a day.
Susan from Whitchurch (22 June 2018)

Well set out within the forested and lake setting and perfectly located for all the local attractions. A pleasant ambiance in the park with plenty of activities for families.
Allan from Kilmarnock (22 June 2018)

Too worst, they didn't know about our arrival. So lodge was not cleaned, seen bananas, left by previously used people, no toilet rolles, not tidey. Over all not good.
Nagarajan from Cheater (18 June 2018)

We have been two years running first year was brilliant nice weather this year we had to complain three time about the load noise from the people next day little kids shouting till early hours in the morning apart from that we have bucked for next year
Michael from Loughborough (18 June 2018)

The caravan was excellent and clean. A well positioned site, perfect for a visit to the lakes. . . I can’t recommend it highly enough.
John from Greater Manchester (15 June 2018)

Fab holiday, stayed in chasewaterlodge only downfall was it was meant to have a ensuite which it didn't, it was one of the reason why I paid the extra for that lodge due to having a toddler that's a light sleeper. Only other negative was the cleanliness of the lodge.. seriously your cleaners need to be retrained. Dirty glasses and plates and the wee shelves in the fridge were disgusting! behind the doors have hooks and clearly people have left towels etc! except for that fab!
Lesley (15 June 2018)

Beautiful lodge with hot tub. We came here with our grandchildren, they enjoyed the indoor pool & childrens park, we would definitely be returning to white cross bay
Pamela (15 June 2018)

The lodge that we were in was not representative of the picture that was shown of the style of lodge that we thought we were booking and paid for on your website . it was not clean and the facilities in the kitchen were poor (no tea towels etc). . the lodge outside area was extremely dirty and covered in leaves etc. We had to clean it before we could use the outdoors. The hot tub was not maintained and was extremely smelly and therefore we did not use it.
Julie from Corbridge (11 June 2018)

Smelly sofas, slugs crawling from drains at night , very uncomfortable beds .the caravan was dirty when I told staff they took their time to sort it, finally took cushions for a wash so we had to sit on the settes without .not visiting place ever again .1/10 is my rate .
Linda from Doncaster (04 June 2018)

Everything about this break was brilliant, the site and the facilities were spot on.
David from Sunderland (01 June 2018)

Justin dj very good had good fun with him
Edward from Liverpool (01 June 2018)

Excellent holiday park & staff, however lodge was described as"superior" which it definitely wasn't,the lodge was not worth the high pricei was also told by hoseasons agent I was next to a tennis court which would be quiet at night, nonsense!!was a full blown kid's play park 1.5 metre's away from lodge, with ball's hitting lodge/car from early morning until late, would visit again but not the same lodge or high price, was a bank holiday though, park location, facilities and staff excellent.
Alister from Glasgow (28 May 2018)

A good holiday overall, helped by excellent weather. The luxury lodge was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the site well maintained. The main road is very busy, but the lodge was far enough away not to notice. The site was very quiet for the first few days, but noisy and busy over the bank holiday weekend. The restaurant food was reasonable and, but the whole dining experience marred by very noisy kids club in the morning during brunch hours, and entertainment during the evening. Unfortunately, no quieter areas to eat and have conversation. Would return to this site, but choose the dates with care.
Gillian from Basingstoke (28 May 2018)

Perfect location between windermere and ambleside. Accommodation was clean and well equipped. I would certainly consider visiting the park again.
Keith from Preston (26 May 2018)

I would recommend white cross bay as a holiday location but on this occasion not the restaurant, the lodge had been refurbished and was quite comfortable, the location perfect.
Peter from Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk (26 May 2018)

We went just before half term in may but there were still some cleaning areas that you wouldn't expect that early in the season. The pool was great and staff helpful but there weren't many staff around for the things they had to do. Wait time in the bar for food was also around 40 mins even take away was 20+ mins. I would hate to be there when busy as i'm sure it would be longer.
Sam (25 May 2018)

Had a lovely mid week stay here with 2 x toddlers, plenty to do within close proximity will definitely be returning!
Rebecca from Durham (25 May 2018)

Perfect place for a holiday
Fanos from Formby (25 May 2018)

Reception staff were lovely, swimming staff great. Restaurant fine. Customer service manager fantastic. Maintanence man was rude & horrible
Andrea from County Durham (21 May 2018)

Did not enjoy this place to stay. The lake district is beautiful but definetly wouldn't stay here again, or anywhere around windermere tbh.
Andy from Totnes (21 May 2018)

Great place to stay to travel round cumbria lodge was clean a little sprucing up out side but ok
Maureen from Chester-Le-Street (18 May 2018)

Great stay at lodge , . food at site restaurant was fantastic
Steven from Newcastle (18 May 2018)

Lovely place the caravan not the usual standard for park dean it was situated on a corner under trees table was pushed into bushes so was unable to use it so a bit disappointed
Lorraine (18 May 2018)

Woodland setting perfect for a calming and relaxing. a few more healthier options on the bar menu would be welcomed but the food was good. we had a lovely holiday and were sorry to leave, very likely to return.
Alison from Chadwell Heath (18 May 2018)

A site worth paying a little more for. perfectly located, and with beautiful surroundings.
Elizabeth from Grimsby (18 May 2018)

White cross bay is set in a beautiful, peaceful location.
Gregory from Scarborough (18 May 2018)

White cross bay is a great place to explore the lake district.
Joe from Derby (18 May 2018)

Having been to white cross bay 12 months earlier and had a lot cabin with much bigger veranda and a hot tub aswell for same price as we played for a smaller veranda and no hot tub was a disappointment . . the breakfast in the restaurant area was dreadful hardly cooked through properly and no proper waste bin in the cabin or tea towel for drying pots etc
Anthony (14 May 2018)

Park is great, pool is lovely and a good temperature for children. 2 play areas and a sports zone too. caravan was basic but cheap, and clean and comfortable
Chris (11 May 2018)

Nice place but we did not use any of the facilities.
Peter from Dundee (04 May 2018)

Lovely place great location kids loved it, would go back.
Joanne from Lancaster (30 April 2018)

Lovely setting, lovely clean lodge etc.
Winifred from Harrogate North Yorkshire (27 April 2018)

We had a lovely holiday. Would have been good if we could have been emailed before the holidays what was available on site. As we didn't realise there was a pool and other facilities
Anthony from Gillingham, Kent (27 April 2018)

Caravan nearly perfect exactly what we needed for a holiday with a toddler. Spacious and near to everything. . the downside was the kitchen appliances, blunt knives and burnt pans etc.

Lovely site and location, club house satisfactory, need more staff always a big queue. Stayed in log cabin was not impressed for the price, dirty inside and out. Not enough equipment inside eg plates, cutlery.
Joanne from Hartlepool (13 April 2018)

We had a lovely week, lodge was well furnished and equipped and the park was very well looked after. Facilities great, we didn't book a slot at the pool soon enough so didn't manage a swim but that's a lesson learnt for our next visit. Very good location for visiting the area. Booked to go again in october.
Penny (13 April 2018)

Due to the busyness of the site we were asked to book to use the swimming pool - however, by the morning following our arrival the pool was already booked for the entirety of our stay. As an indoor pool was one of my reasons for booking this resort we were very disappointed.
Wendy from Lockerbie (13 April 2018)

Our cabin was exceptionally clean, the bedding and towels excellent quality.

We enjoyed our stay which is why we recommend the place so highly. we have marked the staff down based on 2 issues that we had which should not have been issues along with poor management of the children’s entertainment on one night.
Christopher (09 April 2018)

A lovely holiday park ideally situated for. Suiting windermere and ambleside.
Lisa from Newton-Le-Willows (09 April 2018)

We arrived and had a few issues with the lodge but the staff sorted this out straight away and nothing was a bother. the lodge itself was a bit dated and could do with a refresh.

Steve from Great Yarmouth (06 April 2018)

As a returning customer, it was disappointing to arrive at correct time to find that the unit was still being serviced, not available to us. After a 25 minute wait keys available, however it was disapointing to find that the fridge hadn't been cleaned, someones dirty washing was under one of the beds in one room, rubish was under the bed in the other bedroom, food debris under the table. But more disturbing was the wet towel in a bucket under the boiler, suggesting that there may be a fault. So having to go back to reception was not a very good start. However the onsite engineer quickly came and found no issues with the boiler, the issue was that the unit hadn't been serviced at all. The manager and cleaning supervisor attended with the outcome being we were offered a move, which we took. The new unit was newer and better than the one we booked. So a good outcome but it did take an hour to sort out and the original unit would have been good if it was cleaned and ready. The other issue is that now the site is getting busier you have to book your 45 minite swiming slot in advance, so you have to think and plan your days if you want to swin. Also due to the limited entrance avoid 10:00 on deprture dates as you will be queuing to get out if others are turning right.

We booked this for my birthday weekend. We had a lovely time. Weather was fab, good location. Very clean & nicely kept park and good amenities for the children. Cabin was lovely & warm on our arrival & we had plenty of towels. Even a dishwasher! the club house was & toilets were also very nice & clean. My only issue is that the cabin we stayed in needed a paint job, but I do understand that parks take a lot of maintenance. Would definitely return. Thank you.

Went at a cold time when we had snow but found the caravan warm enough dressed in appropriate clothing. the lounge was spacious and kitchen well equipped. the twin beds were a bit narrow but usual for a caravan but they were only used once by our granddaughter when she visited overnight. the little on-site supermarket was well stocked and surprisingly well priced. we didn't use the gym or swimming pool but these seemed a reasonable size and clean. again we didn't make use of the entertainment as that is not our thing but others seemed happy with it.

On arrival to our lodge we noticed, entering the property it was extremely cold. I found the boiler and noticed it was flashing a fault. As I was traveling with a friend who has a movement disorder heating in the lodge was very important. I went immediately to report this problem. I decided to put the kettle on and have a hot drink while we waited for a staff member to come and look at our heating issue. it was at this point we noticed there was no kettle or microwave. We also noticed there was no toilet roll, tin opener, bottle opener and very limited plates, cutlery and trays to cook food in the oven. Cleanliness was very poor. glasses were stuck to the surface of the cupboard. Cutlery was dirty and there was children cereal on the carpet area by the sofas. Maintainence did come after a short period of time and fix our boiler which supplied our heating and hot water and while he was there we asked about the other issues which I have just told you about. Half an hour later and the maintenance man was back with a brand new kettle and microwave. the heating was on and warming up. In the meantime I still needed loo roll and so again I went to ask for at least one roll. ( I was happy to buy further loo roll if required). whilst waiting to be seen to several other fellow holiday makers were also asking for items and one of the issues was in a lodge was, they had no quilts and towels. These are all basic items that should be in the lodges and checked they are working . a complaint to the staff gained me a meeting with a senior team member and I was given a small refund to compensate my now disastrous and very disappointing stay. Sadly the damage was done and my birthday treat was ruined. I will not return to this resort again. I hope no other families suffer this situation as I know too well how hard I had to work in order to pay for my stay.
Jan from County Durham (19 March 2018)

Lodge was old . gaps in wood showing daylight. Veranda door had gaps. Weather was freezing. Gas boiler on all the time. Expensive for a tatty looking lodge. Bar at night took ages to get served.

Lodge was clean and spacious, hot tub was lovely although not ready for our first day even though we had paid for early check in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was lovely in boathouse and josh’s gin fizz was amazing.
Marie from Billingham (16 March 2018)

Generally the site is ok and even though a lot of work was being carried out on the jetty's by the waters edge, the views were still nice.
Joanne (16 March 2018)

Excellent facilities this was our second visit to white cross bay really enjoyed the site well located.
Steve from Bolton (12 March 2018)

We were in unit 3 rydal... very minimal kitchen equipment a joke really. . no fry pan, no teapot. The toaster barely worked. . the road noise from the main road annoying..had to keep windows closed at night from the non stop traffic! . . the beds were comfy and the place was clean enough. . th pool and hot tub were the best part. Although saying that after driving 4.5 hours to get there and find out the pool closes at 6pm was again annoying. Be aware if you stay there in the summer months family you will only be allowed in for 45 mins at a time and only once a day!the on site shop was poorly stocked and closed early. . . the common laundry area was dirty and needed cleaning. . the staff in the food service area were lazy to the point of at least 8 tables needing clearing and they just seemed not to be bothered about it!. . would I stay here again ..not a chance. . very disappointing .

We all had such a great time at your park. the staff were always helpful and entertainment staff were brilliant with the kids. it was such a lovely cabin with great view and surroundings. the only downside was the service at the bar. the staff were not very attentive and everything seemed to take forever however it did not put a dampener on the holiday, thanks again!
Andrew (09 March 2018)

Returned this year as we had such a good holiday last year. Will definitely return again! clean caravan, lovely park, clean pool, beautiful area, friendly and helpful staff!
