Hi all,i had a relaxing holiday , in a lovely setting, great lodge, wavendon inn staff are brilliant, and the chef does great food, definitely visit again to recharge the battery! i'm sure you won't be disappointed with such a good place.
Russ from Lincoln (10 October 2016)

Lovely lodge and really friendly staff. . a little remote but if you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be. We spent a weekend with our family age range 76 to 5 and everyone very satisfied.
Leslie from Cambridge (10 October 2016)

The location was tranquil and the staff where fab. Amazing value for money can't wait to go again!!
Phillipa from Bedfordshire (07 October 2016)

Fabulous place .. wouldn't hesitate recommending if it's a peaceful break you are after . stunning location and superb accommodation .. we stayed in themarsh view lodge which was gorgeous .. brand new .. very well equipped with everything you would need .. the hot tub completed our wonderful experience at waveney river centre ...
Debra from Norwich (30 September 2016)

Ryan (24 September 2016)

Great time had by all, amazing view and staff were very helpful
Malcolm from Ipswich (23 September 2016)

The staff assisted us when we had a problem and made our long weekend most enjoyable. Loved the hot tub as well!
Irene from Nottingham (19 September 2016)

A lovely break away from normality in a peaceful and attractive environment.
Victoria from Lincoln (19 September 2016)

Nice location apart from access to site.lodge was superb but hot tub was too overlooked.
Steve from Wellingborough (16 September 2016)

Had a lovely time in a great lodge (spa lodge 3) which was a 3 bedroom one with private hot tub. The facilities in the actual lodge, and most of the communal facilities (such as swimming pool, on site pub and restaurant etc) would be 10 out of 10, but i've just knocked a mark of the overall facilities score, but only due to a fairly limited choice of food at the little on site shop. However, there are supermarkets within very easy driving distance so it wasn't an issue, and I expect most people take more useful foods with them than we did.
Nick from Spilsby (16 September 2016)

Lovely holiday . our lodge was great and very well equipped the food in restaurant was excellent and all the staff were very friendly .we couldn't fault it at all will definitely be back.
Molly from Redhill (12 September 2016)

A lovely holiday park with very nice indoor pool and a pub on site serving good food with wonderful views. The park is quite tucked away down single track roads but worth finding!
Helen (09 September 2016)

Lovely place , the waverney inn was a bit too expensive and the single track rad was awful apart from that definitely will stay again
Jackie from Warwick (03 September 2016)

A really well thought out and planned vacation area. All facilities are first class well built and designed. The staff are very helpful and all seemed well trained.
Anthony from Ely (29 August 2016)

Wavenumber river centre is set in beautiful surroundings and the lodges are clean, convenient and comfortable, much better than expected, however there is little entertainment , with few facilities to entertain teens. The restaurant in my view doesn't offer value for money. Although the staff were amazing.
Gayle from Spennymoor (22 August 2016)

The location was very pretty but quite a long drive to the nearest town so once you had returned in the evening you were basically stuck there until the next day. Walking was also dangerous outside the site as the roads were very dark and narrow. . the lodge looked impressive to begin with, however, on closer inspection was in need of a really good clean and the kettle provided was disgusting. Flies were also a massive problem although we know there isn't a lot you can do about that. The gravel road outside the lodge was like a highway with members of staff coming and going on golf buggies, lawn mower tractors and other vehicles and this was certainly not what we would class as a peaceful get away!. . the plants around the lodge needed cutting back as you couldn't open your window without flies coming in and the bird feeder required refilling on about day 3 but was not for the rest of our stay. . in summary was very average but could have been excellent.
Peter from West Yorkshire (15 August 2016)

Well maintained and cleaned cabins. Maintenance staff particularly helpful. More details on dog walks in the area would have been useful. Wifi was down in our cabin which was unfortunate.
Philip from Buxton Derbyshire (15 August 2016)

Unfortunately not a great start with the poor access road to the site. it's a good couple of miles of road with a few passing places, which inevitable meant pulling over or reversing which did get frustrating over our week. however once we got to the site, the lodge was in pleasant surroundings and near to the waveney inn and shop. this is not a large site as it runs along the edge of the river. as a family of four, children aged 15 and 13 we found ourselves using the lodge as a base from which to explore norwich, great yarmouth and lowestoft because apart from the lovely swimming pool we found activities limited. yes we could hire a boat for the day (£146) or other river based fun, but walking or biking routes were limited by that poor access road. Food from the inn was excellent and seemed good value, but the takeaway pizza located at the swimming pool was something of a let down. the on site shop was small but seemed to have most items that you could need, but better to ensure you take what you need if possible. we did end up leaving a day and a half early.
Jonathan (15 August 2016)

Excellent and friendly helpful staff made our break
Jackie from March (15 August 2016)

Really enjoyed our stay the accommodation was excellent, pool good, and location brill. Found the pub to be very expensive.
Maureen from Stafford (12 August 2016)

Beautiful quiet location, lodge was excellent with everything we needed and very comfortable. Soft fluffy towels provided. Bread, cake, milk welcome pack when we arrived was a lovely touch. Very dog friendly, dog gate was a brilliant idea. hot tub was the icing on the cake. Staff very friendly and the site was well maintained.
Customer 21 from Bedfordshire (12 August 2016)

We had a weeks holiday in early august and it was very enjoyable indeed, the facilities are good and the lodge we stayed in was amazing, very modern and spotlessly clean. It was a great base within easy reach of the coast and norwich. Overall a very enjoyable stay, well done.
Paul from Wakefield (08 August 2016)

Lodge was in peaceful surroundings with a lovely view over the meadow. Accommodation was well equipped and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and the local restaurant food was very tasty with huge portions! would definitely recommend centre and boat hire for a day.
Helen from Sheerness (06 August 2016)

Unfortunately a great place in a great location but whoever thought of having gravel roads/paths obviously has never had to push a pushchair or wheelchair, it makes it a very difficult to get about on site so you end up having to use the car for a 200 yard walk to the pub/pool or shop
Neil from Stansted (05 August 2016)

The chalet was excellent. Clean, dog friendly, spacious, good car parking. The road to the site was narrow, and passing places were not good. The boat hire people were very friendly and helpful.no fishing tackle for hire. Not realy suitable for elderly people. My son daughterinlaw, granddaughter and there dog had a lovely time, the ferry across the river and the walk to oulton broad was very enjoyable for them but it was a bit overgrown if you had problems walking.the sunday lunch at the inn was good with friendly staff.
Alan from Woodbridge (01 August 2016)

Amazingly relaxing holiday. Stayed in a beautiful lodge with hot tub. Was very spacious. Whole place was tranquil. Great little shop on site, lovely pub with great food and live music some weekends. Friendly and helpful staff. We hired a day cruiser and had a great time on it. Very narrow road to access the site but makes the site nice and isolated, never felt so close to nature. Enjoyed days out at pleasurewood hills, great yarmouth, lowestoft and southwold.
Michelle from Gateshead (30 July 2016)

There is central heating for the cool days and nights, but, when it is warm it is stifling in those lodges, badly in need of air con or at least a couple of fans. Lovely site and very clean.
Andrew from Stoke-On-Trent (23 July 2016)

Well equipped lodges, nicely spaced apart, views in some better than others. good shop on site. Nice pub on site, with reasonable food, but service could be better. boat hire quite pricey, worth shopping around in local area for more competitive prices. no local walks and single track road in and out made access a bit of a chore!
Suzanne from Hampshire (18 July 2016)

A pleasant lodge setting. A few items do need a clearer explanation, but having said that the knowledgeable staff were always quick to respond when there were problems. Accommodation was excellent when established and the hot tubs were really appreciated. The first task was actually locating the site before we arrived at the lodge. Route maps would be helpful. Finding one's way along the miles of largely featureless single track country lane supported, when found, by two easy-to-lose brown fingerboards was an interesting challenge.
Marilyn from Stockport (15 July 2016)

Enjoyed
Julia from Chesterfield (15 July 2016)

Beautiful location. Lovely lodge. Excellent food. friendly staff. We will be back .
Debbie from Ipswich (15 July 2016)

Our second visit to waveney river centre (family group of 9 people aged from 12 to 72). staff were friendly but didn't seem to know very much (eg couldn't tell us where to go and get a boat trip in the area - something that I would imagine people want to do a lot). the onsite pub which we really liked last time was not as good although service of bar staff is excellent, the standard of food was poor in comparison and generally nothing seemed to work properly (pool table broken, arcade machines all blocked, etc - all just seemed a little uncared for since our last visit). shame as its a beautiful site, just needs more attention to detail, especially if charging such high prices.
Alison from London (11 July 2016)

Lovely place to relax at. Really enjoyed the onsite pub. Ate there nearly every day. Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff. . the waterside lodge wasn't quite what we expected being just a narrow marshy ditch with a field behind but this didn't detract from experience. There was lots of wildlife to enjoy. There were families of ducks and swans with regular visits from deer and rabbits. There was a small issue with midges feeding on algae on the water which ended up with them constantly getting in our wine.
Gary from Dukinfield, Cheshire (08 July 2016)

Lovely relaxing holiday .. the only reason I didn't give the facilities a 10 as the pool foyer area could do with tiding up.
Rachel from Bedlington (08 July 2016)

Lovely setting and accommodation. Thunder flies were a bit of a pain and everywhere unfortunately. Internet isn't great either if you have teenagers. Would still go back though.
Tina from Derby (08 July 2016)

Quiet getaway not suitable for youngsters wifi very sporadic great setting
Julie from Ipswich (24 June 2016)

Great break thanks
Katherine from Nottingham (13 June 2016)

Not very impressed with the single track road to get there, the one pub/restaurant onsite allowed dogs at the table whilst we were eating and as mom dog lovers this was very off putting, the ferry that we thought would take us for a nice little journey down the river only takes you across to the other side!felt very cut off from everywhere unless you traveled 15 minutes down very tight single tracks.
Chris from Hinckley (13 June 2016)

Loved our holiday but would have liked an additional eating place had to eat in only restaurant each night of our stay as centre is so remote
Stephen from Chelmsford (13 June 2016)

We had a lovely stay the location is excellent and the lodge of a high standard. The reburbished inn very nice with good food. Helpful and happy staff. Great walks so wonderful to bring our dog with us!
Pauline from Harrietsham (10 June 2016)

We had a lovely stay in the lodge with the hot tub. really relaxing.
Kathryn from Cambridge (30 May 2016)

The bed needs to be better, there was a topper put on it which was better, but needs new mattresses . also the hot tub needs to be turned round, as felt uncomfortable with person next door looking at us, also had to have the hot tub cleaned, which they were very prompt at doing the following day after arrival, as they had shut by the time I looked at the hot tub ( done the same day in the afternoon )
Alison from Lincolnshire (28 May 2016)

A wonderful find, so doggy friendly with bowls, towels and doggy signs.
Customer 43 from Ipswich (23 May 2016)

Lovely place very relaxing ideal surrounding would definitely recommend and go back
Helen from Sutton In Ashfield (20 May 2016)

Fabulous location and fabulous cabin
Patricia from Manchester (15 April 2016)

Our time at waveney was perfect ,the view from the lodge was beautiful and the lodge its self had everything we needed, we were more than comfortable, the food on sight was great and having the hot tub was fun, all the staff were friendly and helpful. . . thanks to all the staff for a much needed wonderful break
Phoebe from Haverhill Suffolk (08 April 2016)

Very peaceful and nice views around the river, the only problem really (and this is just what we as a family think), is that due to the very narrow roads in the area, it takes ages to get anywhere, lots of people I am sure will love it. Great meals as usual at the inn on site. Most staff were very helpful. On the very last day, it does say in the welcome pack, that if you check out before 9.30am to ask for a two for one breakfast voucher, I dropped the keys back at 8.45, had to knock loudly for quite a while, a stern faced lady opened the door, took the keys and closed the door, she didn't ask if all was ok or if we had a good holiday, no chance of asking for breakfast voucher either. Everything else was fine.
Carole from Cambridge (28 March 2016)

Really lovely place!
Claire (25 March 2016)

Lovely peaceful and relaxing break, thought the hot tub could of been more private, but overall it is ok
Linda from Southend On Sea (18 March 2016)

Thenks had an amazing time. So much space for us all
Joanne (14 March 2016)

Cabin was quite secluded compared to other ones. Inside was nice, although no bbq. General area felt quite run down but we did go before the season started. River looked very dirty. Pool was nice as was the play area. Position of the site is not great and there's not much nearby. Am guessing this place is better in the summer
Natalie from Sheffield (14 March 2016)

Amazing weekend away. We will be back soon. Lovely hot tub and woodlands. Couldn't fault the accommodation.
Georgina (14 March 2016)

This was a wonderful venue and the onsite restaurant was amazing. So quiet and peaceful and the hot tub a great bonus. Would love to try this during summer when river trips are available .
Antony from Eastbourne (14 March 2016)

Enjoyed our stay here, but the lodges were not very clean and could do with some updating. The kitchen was not very well equipped.
Jenny from Colchester (07 March 2016)

Immaculate lodge. good on-site facilities including swimming pool and bar / restaurant. location is a bit remote but is peaceful and has nice views of the norfolk broads. highly recommended.
Nicola from Cambridgeshire (07 March 2016)

Great lodge and fab hot tub
Linda from Hyde (29 February 2016)

Wouldn't stay again simply because there wasn't really anywhere we could walk to. . . there was not hot water for me to have a bath or an enjoyable shower. Although I did mention this. . . the hot tub could do with some cover around it so your not so exposed to others
Jamie-Lee (22 February 2016)

Beautiful location. The long single track road to access the holiday park isn't very nice but the park it self is very pretty. Accommodation was spotlessly clean, staff are pleasant, not many facilities though, the restaurant was shut between 3pm & 6pm which was unfortunate for us & also the pool cafe doesnt open till easter, so I recommend visiting when the entire park is fully operational .

Waveney river centre was our favourite family holiday. The lodge was amazing and it was so relaxing in the hot tub watching the birds and ducks. The children loved the park and swimming pool. The area was quiet and very relaxing. Would definitely go again.

We were staying celebrating a family 70th birthday. The accommodation was ideal apart from the fact that we only had one set of keys and fob for the swimming pool between three families. We decided to eat in the waveney inn and were really disappointed by the quality of the food. We ate on the saturday evening which was poor but we did not complain. The following lunch time was even worse. We would not have paid the bill in full if we hadn't had to pay for our food in advance. We did complain on this occasion and even though we had part of some of the meals replaced, we found the attitude of the person in charge quite rude. We would return to the park again but clearly a supply of ready meals will be a better option!

Lodge was lovely, plenty of space, clean, tidy, if one small niggle, could do with better tea towels (ours was full of holes!), there is no beer glasses or large tumblers, & definitely a decent corkscrew. We used the bar & restaurant which was really good, food was brilliant, staff really friendly, our dog especially liked being fed biscuits!. definitely be back in the future, if not in a lodge then in our caravan.
Sean from North Walsham (29 January 2016)

Great holiday we booked last minute as my husband was taken ill at the airport as we were due to go away. and was unfit to fly so we bòoked waveney. Lovely centre staff really friendly and helpful. Would love yo go back again

Would definitely stay again, great stay and friendly staff.
Wayne from Suffolk (21 December 2015)

Great holiday, weather was amazing for december. There needed to be a bit more for kids to do. Staff were brilliant but the lower rating is due to the fact that two days of our three at holiday the ferry was not running so we had to do a long drive to get out walking and enjoying the area. It seemed more like excuses than genuine reasons that the couldn't take us.

We all really enjoyed ourselves despite the damp weather. Being a quiet time of year we found the facilities a little limited but am sure during the summer months the walks would be great.
Susan from Cambridge (27 November 2015)

Lovely place , overlooking the meadowlands, watching different birds every day , nice swimming pool, a great restaurant and bar, easy parking , and great lodges .

There are only a couple of criticisms that could be levied at the centre, and they are :- . 1. Although you can take your dog there, there is nowhere to let it off the lead unless you take the ferry over the river. 2. The roads on site need a few more lights for when you are out at night.

The place we stayed in was disgusting and bathroom toilet had blood on and bath damaged, but cleanliness was awful!!
Kerrie from Colchester (16 November 2015)

Staff very friendly and helpful. Due to a private event the bar and restaurant were shut on the saturday night and due to swimming lessons the pool was closed on saturday morning. We were made aware of both these things on arrival. As these were pre booked I thought we should have been made aware before arrival especially as we were only staying 3 nights.

We really enjoyed staying at waveney river centre! lovely peaceful location with great views. Extremely clean lodge with everything you would need plus a relaxing hot tub. The waveney inn serves fantastic food and allows dogs so was perfect for us! 5* would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again soon :)

The facilities (ie shop / swimming pool /reception/bar ) were excellent with really friendly and helpful staff. the actual centre is very small and so relatively speaking the facilities are extremely good given the size of the site and number of people staying. . the setting for the centre is very peaceful and idyllic (and hard to find on sat nav) and we enjoyed days out to southwold and kessingland

Booked a romantic weekend away just myself and partner. When arrived the lodge was lovely. Spacious. Clean. All ready and made up with the essentials we needed. We did not expect this but was welcomed to milk, fresh loaf of bread, butter, cake, soap, shower gel, washing up bits. It was very welcoming. Very quite weekend away just what we had planned. Lots of nature. We had birds, ducks, rabbits all outside the window of the lodge which was lovely to see. not a great deal on site but we did not go for that. The restaurant on site was really nice friendly and the food was really nice.

In the middle of nowere, post code takes you to a field 10 minutes from actual place, which women on reception thought was just funny , and laughs and says everyone says that! why has this not been sorted?
Martin from Hinckley (12 October 2015)

We were visiting family in lowestoft with children and grandchildren. this site is in a gorgeous setting with boats, swimming pool and nice pub. the only downside was the road to the site, which made it a round trip of about 1.5 hours to see relatives.

Accommodation and surroundings exceeded our expectations. We had an excellent break. Staff helpful and friendly. Food presentation and service at inn excellent. Would have absolutely no reservations about recommending this site and accommodation. Also, this is an excellent base for the surrounding area. Well done to all the staff, management and all who contribute to the running of waveney river centre.

Lovely lodge with a hot tub, do think the prices are a bit steep for a 4 night stay if you want the ones with the hot tubs but we did make the most of the hot tub :). pub was lovely, nice food too. Nice and peaceful which is what we wanted. . do think redwings horse sanctuary at caldecott hall could be promoted more at the waveney river pub and shop, it's only 10/15 minutes away and they do wonderful work and could benefit with more visitors if they were to know about it.
Debbie from London (28 August 2015)

The swimming pool could have been tidier, looked a bit 'jaded'; large cracked window, plants at pool side looked dead. we did not have any cleaning cloths for dishes or wiping work services in our chalet, only one black bin bag & had to buy more, even though we recycled all we could. . a lovely location though.

First class break will definitely return.
Martin from Welwyn Garden City (24 August 2015)

The 3-bed accommodation was larger than expected, well furnished and very clean with ample room for two adults and three teenagers. The hot tub was amazing and used every evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was a little remote but beautiful; especially convenient for hiring a boat for the day. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay but an irritation and failure to comply with the description arose on three fronts - (1) wifi failed for 5 of our seven days and we were relying on the internet to plan our days depending on the weather. This was very inconvenient. (2) television reception was so poor that pictures were constantly distorting (3) the en-suite shower did not work sufficiently to be used. This too was very inconvenient when 5 people need to shower in one bathroom. These issues were raised with the staff on two occasions but not resolved during our stay. This failure was a real disappointmment.

Very relaxing, enjoyed quality time with my family, weather was lovely, only downside was we would have loved to go swimming more, but after going once that was more than enough, it was cold and extremely dirty, the tiles round the edge were black in places and the water was so cloudy and it never smelt of chlorine! it was worrying!!!!
Alison from Dover (14 August 2015)

Arrived at the waveney river centre after driving down a hazardous 2 mile single track road. Half the day gone as couldn't check in until 4pm. The surroundings were lovely, we had a drink in the waveney inn which looked nice, thought we might have tea there, only to be told that all tables were reserved. We approached the cabin down a gravel road which was lethal under foot and very difficult to push a pushchair on. Upon first sight of the cabin we noticed how open the hot tub was, overlooking the other cabins and vice versa. Upon entering the cabin we noticed how it was actually a caravan with wood cladding. The complimentary tea, coffee, butter and bread was a nice gesture and the kitchen had everything we needed other than a jug. We did eventually eat in the inn but upon looking at the receipt later on realised we had been charged for something we never ordered or had. We used the indoor swimming pool and was concerned immediately with the slippery floor, my little girl slipped 3 times banging her head on the floor. The changing room was communal and there was a young boy of around 7-8 in there which I was uncomfortable about getting undressed in front of. The jacuzzi looked brown in colour, no toilet paper/dispenser in the disabled toilet. We did have a pleasant stay how-ever with day trips out, dining out a various places. Enjoyed watching the wildlife and the meteor shower.
