Fully automatic impersonal service. Pay ten pounds extra to ask questions and book on the phone. Telly is super tech.and when it fails, it takes all communication out with it. It's unsupervised glamping..a lovely location, just feels like an internet factory. Lots of stuff..just don't expect help if you need it. Massive investment in cables and whole park ducted cables of cat 6. But no landline. They rely on cellphones.miles into the forest. if you had a night time medical emergency, you will have to go outside to call for help..
Adam from Watford (07 September 2018)

Lovely lodge and. Location but almost £900 for 4 nights is a bit excessive
Eleanor from Ivybridge (31 August 2018)

Relaxing short break in a well equipped comfortable lodge. Staff really friendly. Lodges are not on top of each other and there is a good degree of privacy.
Susan from Lowestoft (24 August 2018)

We stayed for a one week holiday from 13th -20th aug in one of your cabins (no53) in thorpe forest, norfolk. During our stay we encountered a lot of difficulties and disruption to our stay that made it extremely difficult to relax there and completely spoilt our holiday. . on arrival at 4 pm they were late checking us in as they said they didn’t have enough staff to clean the lodges. We waited nearly an hour for lodge to be cleaned and to get the key!. . on entering the lodge we noticed there where at least 100 flies buzzing around which I assumed it was because the doors have been left open and maybe some food lying around from previous occupier…. we then set about killing them as we wouldn’t be able to eat there otherwise. The next morning we went about killing more flies. We also noticed the cabin had not been cleaned properly at all. The blinds were very dusty the windows were dirty , under the sofas the beds and coffee table were very dusty also crumbs and other objects a random toy and a sock underneath them. One of the beds had dirty sheets and pillow case , there was broken glass on the top of very dusty wardrobe , balcony was in the shade all day and the decking was dirty. . and there was now dead flies everywhere!. we then complained to the manager. She called rentokil for the flies and had the cabin cleaned. . she told me there was a problem with flies because of an early harvest due to the hot weather. She was very aware there was a problem and said there was no fly killer spray left in norfolk. Surely as it was know there is a problem with flies there should have been some type of simple ultra violet lamp that kill them. We could not open the windows or doors all week which made it was stuffy and hot especially when sleeping. . . even after they cleaned under the beds, the sofas and the blinds still were not cleaned properly. . they had two fly screens on the door which were both broken. We then had to complain about this. We had them repaired twice throughout the stay and they broke yet again before we left. . clearly substandard materials were used. . within that week we had. 2 blocked drains (bath and sink). . after we had asked 3 times if they could supply a cleaning product or come and clean the bath as it was dirty after the drain backed up and was cleared, they did not come or supply a cleaning product. . throughout the holiday there was flies everywhere inside the cabin. We would spend around 2 hours per day constantly killing them, . they would land on our face and arms in the morning and wake us up. . we had to search norfolk for fly a swatter or fly spray ( without success) my bother brought one on the friday when he arrived. . I had to ask for a change bedlinen for my brother and other guest arriving (which I changed myself) and had to ask for them to change towels and bath mats for all of us. I assumed they would do this as standard at least once in the week. . . one of the children had diarrhoea ( probably because of the flies) . . it really made it difficult for us to relax inside the cabin.. . . ps on a positive note the staff were polite helpful and offered wine and chocolates for compensation but clearly they understaffed and not able to deal with every complaint.
Ness (20 August 2018)

Great location, lodge was lovely and spacious. check in staff were helpful. Negatives - we had prebooked our bikes but when we went to collect they said they didn't have the right number of bikes, one adult ended up with a large childs. however they came round to the lodge later and apologized and put it right. Flies! the place was full of flies, the first night was a nightmare - it must have been because of the hot weather and not just in the forest because we went to buy fly spray and everywhere was sold out. however, this meant that we couldn't enjoy the outside patio as it was impossible to eat outside.
Julie from Cayman Islands (10 August 2018)

Lodges lovely, though could have been cleaner. Surroundings great with very nice walks. Fly's a bit of a nuisance.
Jennifer from Maldon Essex (06 August 2018)

Lovely setting had a great time although slightly higher in price than I would expect for the facility
Simon (30 July 2018)

We stayed in a silver birch lodgebwith 5 adults 2 kids and 4 dogs. I booked this holiday for a long weekend with intention having things to do with the kids. Nearly all activities were quite pricey and they weren't even in the same forest. You had to travel out to do anything. . lodge was nice but could of been much cleaner, when shining lights up the walls they were caked in thick dust. . overall it's a nice quiet place if you just want to go for walks but not many activities to do if you have children.
Cardine from Northamptonshire (30 July 2018)

Beautiful place to stay, if you’re looking to escape the world/work for a few days this is the place! the lodges are very well equipped & the hot tub just adds the cherry to the cake! I would of given this a 10/10 but the staff are dreadful, on three different occasions we went to the reseption/bar/shop all of which we was ignored & when we was spoken to, we felt as if we was wasting their time! late check in after the cleaner shouted at us, we shouldn’t be there yet as she hadn’t told the office to give us the lodge key, this was 4.10 check in is 4pm. Our second from final evening I wanted to enquirer about rebooking for next year to get the 5% dicscount, I was told to come back the next day because she didn’t have time for me?!? I also asked about late check out but was very rudely told, this needed to be done at booking? such a shame because it really is a stunning place to visit, we booked again for next year when we got home without the discount but for sherwood forest in hopes of better customer service than thetford.
Michelle (20 July 2018)

Relaxing quiet surroundings. Excellent accommodation, views out of living room window perfectly captured.
Karen from Gloucestershire (16 July 2018)

Wasn’t informed the restaurant was being redone before we arrived. Take way was way over priced for 2 very dry pizzas that ended up in the bin. Cabin wasn’t overall clean, dust on bedside cabinets and floor wasn’t clean. Kitchen items weren’t clean, there was a jug with old scrambled egg in the cupboard that was left and not cleaned.
Dan from Colchester (09 July 2018)

We loved this place and are looking to book it again for next year! the staff are friendly and helpful, the cabin was amazing, and the forest surroundings were beautiful.
Katy from Essex (09 July 2018)

Nice and quiet place
Oksana (09 July 2018)

Disapointed when we arrived as given different lodge day before, only to be told that they had since sold that lodge to someone else on our arrival. Appart from that all good.
Customer 14 (22 June 2018)

Had a lovely time, wifi was useless. Accommodate very nice. Hot tub was great.
Wendy from Kent (18 June 2018)

The staff were getting the centre ready for refurbishment. On arrival we were told there would be a limited menu due to the refurbishment, not a problem! on the saturday we tried to enquire about hiring push bikes possibly a tandem, the staff were not helpful saying that they could not do this from the centre and that we needed to find another independent centre that is located on site. we found the other centre to find that it was not manned, after walking around, finding various groups of people who had not seen anyone from the centre since they had arrived we returned to our cabin. on screen they advertise that the activities can be booked at the main centre. After lunch we returned to the centre to find that they were packing up the shelves and removing stock. We did eventually (5pm) find someone who we could hire cycles from. . . we had a similar experience when trying to book the canoeing. by sunday the whole centre was stripped bare, we wanted to purchase some gifts to take home. they did take us to the lock up to try and rummage through to find gifts. there was bread, milk and a few basic products to buy. . on monday we required milk and butter for breakfast. there was one pint of milk left and my husband was told to drive to tesco if he wanted anything else. My husband told them he couldn't drive so they gave him 6 butter packs from the restaurant. . no mention of this was made when we booked as we would have chosen a different weekend. . the lodges are beautiful and the surroundings are lovely. the dogs had a fab time.
Jo (18 June 2018)

Absoutly loved stay in our lodge we booked for the weekend and deffo on about going back again. The staff was helpful and the cabin we stayed in was clean tidy when we arrived would recommened to anyone that wants to book

Lovely place to relax
Luke from Maidstone (28 May 2018)

Midweek break and the place is just beautiful your not to far from anywhere but yet you feel like you are and the lodges are lovely and with the hot tub makes it perfect
Rebbekah from Sheffield (25 May 2018)

Lovely setting and location
Zoe from Stoke On Trent (18 May 2018)

Lovely stay! lodge was very cosy and warm! only problem we found was lots of spiders inside the lodge! (it wasn’t dirty), think it was just because of the woodland environment. Unfortunately due to british weather, it rained whilst we stayed- would be good if the hot tubs had some overhead protection. . staff very friendly and helpful, great utensils for self catering, table was set up on arrival, along with a scrabble board. Tv had movies station so great for a movie night in. Facilities on site to hire bikes and take part in activities.
Kerry from Essex (30 April 2018)

Cabin would benefit from additional shower. I chose not to purchase hot tub but I didn’t realise it only had one shower. one shower for six people is not sufficient.? otherwise superb.

When we booked we asked for the same lodge we had last time, but when we arrived we got a different lodge. I liked this lodge better as it was surrounded by trees more and not so many people walking past close to the lodge, saw a deer by the decking in the morning and saw lots of lovely birds in the trees!. . the kids next door had a hot tub and the sound sure does carry at night! they calmed down at around 10pm. (we have a child so realise how loud they can be so wasn't an issue to us!) . . . we were extremely lucky that it snowed heavy while we were on holiday so we got to play in it! the dog and our son loved it! just made our holiday more magical!. . I love the fact that we can just step out of the lodge and go for a walk in the forest. Also that all the staff are dog friendly so we were allowed to take our dog in the cafe! the staff are friendly and very helpful. . . we thought our oven wasnt working on the first night as it took 1.5 hours to cook a pizza, staff were straight over to check the oven. The next night the oven worked fine. . we had a lunch in the cafe, which was average price, but it was ok. . we went to bury for a few hours one day and found a nice garden centre next to tesco who also accept dogs in their cafe. Its handy tesco being a short 10min drive away. . the only fault this time was that under the sofas and beds looked they hadnt been cleaned for a long time as my son found out when he reached underneath to retrieve a toy car! this was on the first night, he came out covered in dust and dirt!. . you only get a broom and dust pan and brush, no hoover or mop so I couldnt clean under the sofas. The floors in general didnt look as clean as the time before and there were signs of wear and tear on the wooden kitchen work tops. . . by the time we left despite sweeping the floors were a lot worse as all the grit, wet and mud being brought in! . . we paid for a later check out so we could walk the dog and pack up, not having to rush so much. . . overall we had such a lovely time, we are very sad that we wont be returning next year as our son goes to school and the prices in half term are way out of our price range! unfortunately the price is way over double of what we paid this time. But we have photos and memories of our lovely holiday!

Lovely lodge with hot tub. Check in 40 mins late as they had 8 cleaners not turn up, lodge not cleaned very well bit under circumstances did not complain. Underfloor heating not working properly had to call engineer out on the first night, dealt with very quickly. Lodges very well equipped, only problem toilets very hard to flush. Hot tub cleaned everyday. Lovely surrounding, excellent if you have a dog. Would definitely go back. Tesco 10 mins down the road, shop on site expensive. You can purchase sky £60

Lovely cosy lodge set on the edge of the forest perfect get away.
Jo from Leicestershire (22 December 2017)

We have stayed in a number of forest holiday lodges and of these, thorpe forest lodges are one of the best. Only two small grumbles to what would otherwise be perfect; . . 1. On a forest holiday you cant leave the lodge and stay clean, especially with kids and dogs, so why don't the family lodges have a washing machine? other we have stayed in do. . 2. The log burning stove is great but when you arrive you have to go and buy the necessary logs/tinder/matches. Why not leave a 'welcome pack' to at lest enable you to get started? again in other lodges the log burner is inclusive of the cost. . 3 the tv system was a bit odd; the menu and the actual programs didn't seem to coincide at all and despite setting up an account we could never get our 'on screen menu' to work so we could order directly from our lodge. . point 1 is the most valid here and although there is a communal laundrette in the visitors centre this was the only real disappointment, otherwise the lodges and the overall site facilities and staff are excellent!!!!

Enjoyed holiday overall, beautiful walks through forest, cabins were nice but we would not class them as luxurious as advertised and rather overpriced compared to other places we have stayed, staff very helpful but on site shop very expensive, very disappointed there was not a fridge/freezer only a fridge with small ice box.

Back for the sixth time but first time using hoseasons for this holiday.as a family we love this holiday and the hot tub makes it special, we use it everyday! the staff are always helpful and facilities were great. My one suggestion would be that people were not charged to hire a highchair as we don't pay for our chairs separately and young children do find it hard to sit at the table without one. I have to say as always our silver birch cabin was clean, spacious, and well equipped as always thanks again.
Glynis from Peterborough (28 August 2017)

Really enjoyed our weekend stay, enjoyed the luxury of a hot tub and a lovely bbq on the decking. it would have been good if wifi was included, you had to pay extra for this and I felt we had paid enough already (school holiday season, so not cheap!) . . location was good, we went to go ape at thetford and took our bikes with us round the bike tracks there too. We took part in the rowing and kayaking at forest lodges, which was nice. there was a cafe on site, would have been nice to have a pool there and a few other activities for older children, but having said that it wouldn't have been so peaceful. :-). would definitely return, the lodge was lovely, spacious and clean with everything you need, but would try and avoid school holiday season purely due to the prices.
Rachel from Essex (21 August 2017)

Excellent for a relaxing holiday if your not wanting to do much. We enjoyed it, but thought it a bit costly for what it is. Excellent for dogs. Cabins are lovely. My partner found bed very uncomfortable though. Staff excellent and very friendly and helpful.

David from Wickford Essex (07 August 2017)

We had never been to thorpe forest before but we have already decided that we will return. The area is extremely peaceful, which is what we wanted from our holiday. The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was clean and very adequate, especially as we have an 8 month old and 5 year old! we stayed in the golden oak lodge with the hot tub which was worth the upgrade from the lower priced lodge. It was extremely spacious and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and clean however, the cooker had no instructions on how to use so it was trial and error but we got there in the end! we enjoyed the freedom of being self catering and having no schedule. We used the lodge as a base and ventured out to different places including great yarmouth (1hr away). we did spend the extra £40 for the wifi/entertainment package which helped on rainy days/mornings getting ready. There are plenty of supermarkets within a 10/15 minute drive and pubs/restaurants close by too. . all in all, it was a great break but a bit pricey (school holiday prices!) but would return if booked in advance.
Monique (04 August 2017)

Loved the lodge, only trouble when we tried to book on site activities they were all fully booked, which meant we had to travel quite far to be able to find things to do with grown up teenagers. Due to the amount of driving needed to be done to find things to do wasn't as relaxing has had hoped for.
Sharon from Northampton (04 August 2017)

Much better than expected..sorry...don't usually take breaks in uk.
Irene from Dorset (31 July 2017)

Lovely place ,lovely lodge you do need a car though as there's not public transport. . there's no mobile signal and no public telephone so brilliant for total peace and quite. Great place to bring your dog too.
Annette from Herts (24 July 2017)

Fantastic best holiday we have had in years
Ashley from Leicestershire (21 July 2017)

Great place to stay, however there was so many flies in our lodge upon arrival & the shop on site had no fly catchers or spray to deal with them!
Angela from London (21 July 2017)

The keys were not ready at 4pm and it was clear the accommodation had not had a full clean, layer of dust and cobwebs in several places. Had to report 3 faults by the end of the first evening, one of which should have been picked up during the changeover. That said, the maintenance team were there by 9am the next morning and everything quickly resolved. . the cost of having wifi for the week was pretty steep as we didn't really make use of the entertainment package. Apart from that we had a lovely time, location and setting are just perfect and the whole family loved the hot tub. We would definitely return.
Sadie from Stamford (17 July 2017)

We had a lovely break, my dogs and my grandson loved every minute. We will definitely come back again
Martin from Upminster (10 July 2017)

We were a group of family and friends who stayed in this lovely forest lodge. Spacious enough and well provisioned. The highlight was the hot tub and the forest adventure facilities on site. We didn't have to drive anywhere for the activities.
Nitin from Berkhamsted (10 July 2017)

Amazing get away. Can't recommend it enough. . one bad point was there was only one person behind the counter when we checked in and quite a que which didn't make sense as everyone was trying to check in.
Dan from Felixstowe (03 July 2017)

We had a wonderful time in thorpe forest. The staff were very welcoming and the assortment of activities on site made our time there fly. We will certainly be going back for another stay. . the site is well looked after, the walks around the forest were a delight and, even though there are many cabins on site, you never feel that you are overlooked by anyone else.
Peter from Rochester (03 July 2017)

Beautiful surroundings. Very warm welcome and helpful friendly staff. Only let down would be the amount of litter outside the cabin.
Joanne from Witham, Essex (23 June 2017)

We had an amazing week in thetford forest. Very relaxing and chilled out. . we would love to come back soon.
Sam from Essex (16 June 2017)

No wifi during our stay which was a inconvenience! we weren't informed before arriving and after being offered £10 per room voucher at the start of the holiday at the end we were told that there was no such offer. Overall disappointed by the wifi issue but everything else was lovely
Adam from Sleaford (16 June 2017)

Well equipped lodges, clean, relaxing.
Rhoda (16 June 2017)

Forest setting good for wildlife. we went canoeing in the river on the site which was good fun. having the café and shop there was useful. during our stay there was no wifi which was a nuisance because there is also no phone signal. otherwise facilities in the lodge were good.
Kevin from Hampshire (02 June 2017)

For the high cost some other facilities would be good such as a indoor swimming pool
Robert from Felixstowe (02 June 2017)

What a beautiful setting, the lodge was well appointed but a couple of points. with dogs welcome it would be a good idea to leave a vacuum available. the wooden floor needed a good steam clean which we would not have noticed but we had an 8 month old crawling and her knees feet and hands were black despite sweeping the floor each morning and washing with mop. the wi fi was not available and in the normal set up would not have been an issue but my daughter had an important application to put in and had to go off site a couple of times to complete it. if you say you have wi fi then you have to deliver. just one other thing the dishwasher was not working efficiently, we had to re wash a number of things every time we used it. having said that we loved the venue.
Susan (29 May 2017)

The cabin was dirty, spiderwebs hanging from the ceilings and a lot of dust. Cabinets smelt 'off' and needed to be cleaned. Plug for bath rhanging off. No net to clean the hot tubs yourself and under tress, can get leafy, there was also no wifi when staying and very limited on where you could get a phone signal.
Samantha (22 May 2017)

We had a lovely stay monday-friday. Great location with lots to do for the kids. Very quiet peaceful setting and lodges are a good distance apart. . the lodges are modern yet rustic, clean, spacious and well equipped. The only downside to the lodge is it is very warm even with the windows open! . . they offer an entertainment package with movies wi-fi and sky sports. However this was down for the entire week which was very disappointing, not that we wanted to stay in and watch the tele all week, but when the kids have gone to bed it would have been nice to relax in the hot tub, order a pizza and watch a film. The tv was also down for a few hours everyday. The park said they were having problems with the servers but reading other reviews from previous months, this seems a common problem. Considering the price you pay here it's simply not good enough. Something offered in good will would have been acceptable but we we're offered nothing for the inconvenience. . . other than this, the lodges and surroundings are lovely and we had a great few days.
Hayley from Rotherham (19 May 2017)

Was the perfect holiday for us and our 2.5 year old son. . lovely hot tub. Very spacious . kitchen work surface but small for a 3 bedroom cabin. Lovely bike rides, lovely villages close by, . a hidden gem was horses running free a very short drive away. Its just lovely in thetford. . little bit tired accommodation. Could do with small touch ups and the hot tub cover defiantly needs replacing. . but did not hamper the holiday.
Gurj from Hockley, Essex (12 May 2017)

The staff were very welcoming on arrival and continued to be helpful throughout our short stay. We enjoyed the activities and would have liked the opportunity to do a few more. Unfortunately, the zip wire we could see in the forest wasn't part of forest holidays. The forest ranger and canoes were good activities to do.
Sarah from Woodbridge (01 May 2017)

Had a wonderful break here. Worked well as a group of 7 of mixed ages.really impressed with high standed of the lodges and whole site.would go again. We all agreed we all had a fab time
Peter from Chelmsford (01 May 2017)

Fantastic, booked last minute and was amazing. Bike hire a bit expensive tho. Millie my daughter had a bad fall and was looked after really well. Great food & staff
Julie from Northampton (01 May 2017)

Welcomed by a lovely lady on reception who sat us down and went through site amenities, our lodge & nearby dog friendly pubs – even our excitable 9 month old labrador puppy was made a fuss of and given her weight in dog treats. The customer service throughout our entire stay was first class. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of wildlife to see and we walked for miles (and got a little lost). the shop on site is well equipped and the decking area outside is perfect for a well earned cold drink after a trek through the forest. Bravely, (as we had our 19 & 20 year old daughters with us) we didn't opt for the wifi/sky package and with no mobile reception in the lodge we were completely off grid.. bliss!
Helen from Leicestershire (10 April 2017)

Lovely stay, lodges are fabulous only criticism would be the "centre parts" approach to making money, wi if costs extra, movies are extra and so on, come well packed and bring all you need, lovely place and lodge but after you have paid a lot of money would have been nice to get a little more in lodge.
David (03 April 2017)

Fantastic place, great accommodation & brilliant staff. Couldn't have wished for a better break on mothers day weekend.
Sam from Eydon (27 March 2017)

The weekend was disrupted by one bad member of staff. . he constantly accused our group of parking in the wrong place even though some of the cars did not belong to us. My wife tried to explain this and he gave her the single finger witnessed by other staff members. Below picture two cars he claimed were ours. Totally unacceptable.
Christopher (20 March 2017)

Amazing holiday, we will definately go back! we stayed 4 nights, we wanted a break from work and from people being able to get hold of us so we were not bothered about wifi!. . we also were not bothered about a hot tub or wood burner for this holiday. . our son and dog loved it, our son keeps asking to go back! we didnt get to walk all the routes as one was too muddy and the other to long for our sons little legs! it was nice being able to step out of the lodge straight into the woods. Our son liked the play apperatus dotted about along the walk. . the lodge itself was so comfy! the facilities were great, the only minor fault was that the sofa and cushions had a few dirty marks on them on arrival, but that was it. Everything else was clean. Good working kitchen and bathroom facilities also. We didnt have a problem with the heating, it was easy to use. . we were so lucky with the warm weather we had our first bbq of the year on the decking in march!. . we really liked how the staff were so relaxed about dogs, making a fuss of ours and allowing dogs in the cafe. When leaving we sat outside the cafe with a hot drink. Our son liked playing the games in the cafe too!. . our dog liked the fact that he had a welcome treat waiting for him in the lodge on arrival!!. . so many positives, another big one was that there wasnt rule after rule written everywhere, we could all just relax and enjoy our break!. . we loved the fact we could open the curtains and the view out of the huge windows was squirrels and birds playing in the trees! so peaceful! . . the only noise, which sometimes rattled the windows was aircraft from the local raf base flying over. . we would have liked check in times to be a bit earlier than 4pm and later than 10am. We will know for next time to book extra time. . the location was easy for us to get to, it was 10mins drive to tescos and 30mins to bury st edmunds. . we didnt take part in any of the activities. . . we cant really fault this holiday, every aspect was great! we will look for good deals and book again in the future!
Cara from Ipswich (17 March 2017)

I'm not usually so gushy but from the moment you arrive, the check in chat is so welcoming. It was even more than we expected, so beautiful and relaxing. It's not a wild wood, but there are forests outside the "forest holiday's area" to explore and it all worked so well. We especially liked the rubber ducky man coming to sort our hot tub out daily. . money wise, it's not cheap and the only reason I say value for money wasn't a ten is because we were unable to get a lodge for just 2 so had to pay for more people than were there and everything is additional, bit surprised to pay extra for wifi in this day and age. . . but dont let that stop you treating yourself to this lux!!
Anon (13 March 2017)

Relaxing retreat.
Chris from Lincoln (10 March 2017)

The accommodation was fantastic; clean, warm and welcoming and a great base for the stay. staff were friendly and helpful. only downside was the wifi is extremely expensive!
Christina from Dorset (27 January 2017)

Lovely lodge in great, peaceful surroundings. Clean, comfortable lodge although a little sparsely equipped compared to others. Towels, washing machine & a dvd player would be nice. Fantastic hot tub. Poor wifi & mobile signal.
Rory from Ipswich (27 January 2017)

Great location. beautiful lodge. would stay again definitely. Some minor niggles: could do with more cupboard space for own food. very tricky to control heating. Even with the heating off in the bedroom, still very hot at night. £40 for entertainment package (only needed the wifi), a bit hard to swallow.
Tara from Glastonbury (27 January 2017)

Relaxing family get away, 4 adults and 2 children , lovely walks , staff very helpful, food good.
Wendy from Suffolk (09 January 2017)

Hoping to return very soon, great facilities and accommodation superb. Very relaxing few days
Sarah from Corby (06 January 2017)

Went with my husband ,11 year old son & the dog , for 4 nights 2nd january - 6th january 2017 , & we absolutely loved it especially the hot tub , can't wait to go back
Tracey from Warrington (06 January 2017)

Had a fantasic weekend loved the area and lodges were spotless. we will be back again!. . thank you
Anne from Poole (26 September 2016)

Brilliant location, would recommend to anyone. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do. Walking map instructions need updating.
William (23 September 2016)

Fantastic place
Steven from Ipswich (19 September 2016)

Lovely place away would do it again but there should be more stuff to do
Brandon from Ipswich (09 September 2016)

We had a great time (family group kids ages between 9-15) our lodge & hot tub were amazing & lived up to our expectations again , as we are returning customers. Staff & surroundings wonderful, but had a noisey bunch of all males in the cabin next to us which spoilt the peace for the first 3 days. When we brought the problem to the staffs attention & they had a word with them to no avail & the noise continued until they left, rather disappointing that more wasn't done, as they did have to refill their hot tub for them, as the idiots tried filling it with booze on the first night, smashed glass everywhere & left over 3 black bags of glass bottles & a real mess within the lodge. Having said that we would have loved to return next year for the 3rd time but simply can not afford the prices for within the school holidays! real shame cause this place is a real gem (without the roudy neighbours) & suits our laid back approach to holidaying.
Bianca from Guildford (09 September 2016)

I feel obliged to write this to show the staff my appreciation. Everyone had time and help was offered. A lovely team that are very happy and they were very kind. The spa wonderful and the treehouse amazing . wonderful detailing in the room. kitchen had everything you need and was very clean. . . if you are looking for peace and tranquility go here.
Ruth from Ely (02 September 2016)

Lovely lodge, although flies were a problem at first, so take fly spray. Lodge was not over looked. Fantastic surroundings to explore on foot or bike.
Diana (02 September 2016)

Beautiful lodge and location. The design and quality is top class. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by trees was a fabulous experience. I havealready recommended these lodges to.my friends.
Mandy (15 August 2016)

Had a excellent stay at the lodge. Was relaxing and stress free. Kids loved it and enjoyed being out in the open amongst the trees. definitely recommend this place and will 100% be returning.
Rashpal from Essex (12 August 2016)

It was a brilliant holiday. All I would say is that as the lodge was in the middle of a forrest I would have expected a larger kids play area. But it the lodge, surroundings and staff were brilliant
Jonathan from Leeds (05 August 2016)

An ideal place for a relaxing weekend break with long walks .
Victoria from Peterborough (25 July 2016)

Fantastic lodge, my only real issue was lack of open, useable space for kids to play ! what there was, wasn't well maintained and play area was suitable for 3-5 year olds and consisted on 5 small items no wonder it wasn't shown on website
Andrew (22 July 2016)

Will defo be going aging
Sarah (27 June 2016)

We were pleasantly surprised with the lodge, in terms of comfort and cleanliness. It was very comfortable. We were slightly disappointed to have to pay extra for wifi, especially as there was no phone signal so we really had no choice but to pay an extra £35 for the weekend. The only thing that literally put a dampner on the weekend was the good old british weather! it rained most of the time and there was not much to do in the camp in bad weather. The hot tub was a real treat and we made use of it.
Maria from Essex (20 June 2016)

Fantastic quiet location, enjoyed by the whole family. Nature, walks and plenty of fresh air.
Grant from Erith, Kent (13 June 2016)

Fantastically relaxing forest holiday. Hot tubs ease away any aches from the day's activities, room service eases away any desire to cook :d. . would definitely recommend!
Matthew from Wickford (10 June 2016)

Fantastically restful. beautiful surroundings. would go again
Lara from Essex (27 May 2016)

Would recommend to anyone and will be going back next year
Emma (25 March 2016)

Lovley weekend break, in a very relaxing woodland. Will definitely return.
Danielle from Ashford Kent (21 March 2016)

Loved the park. Was extremely dog friendly! the nature walks are well designed with sign posts the whole way so you don't get lost. . one downfall I found was the activities were very pricey. we went off season and paid a lot for the holiday itself. The activities announced were expensive in comparison to those you could get else where. We didn't end up doing any extra activities although interested in the clay pigeon shooting and canoeing. . . the other down fall was the breakfast in the cafe. We went the first morning as dogs allowed on sight and price was reasonable. However we had a 20 minute wait for our food to turn up served by a minor, who circled the cafe twice spilling bean and scrambled egg juice on the floor! food was served with no mentioned as to why the sausages were missing, when asked the boy replied "we ran out so you have extra bacon". 1. We were not informed of this when purchasing, 2. I was 28 weeks pregnant and had gone off bacon. I was planning on switching my bacon for my partners sausages. If I had known I would never have purchased the food. To also make it worse we were only served 4 slices of bread for 6 people and on of these was the crust!! it again was only when we asked that another 2 slices came out. - such a shame again we didnt visit there again but did travel to the local sainsburys for food.
Leann from Letchworth Garden City (14 March 2016)

A very nice place in the middle of a forest. Accommodation was very good, spacious, modern and comfortable. The hot tub was a worthwhile addition, which would include next time. Staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. There are plenty of places to visit and go for walks. Wi-fi and movies are an optional extra that you must pay for. There is no phone reception so wi-fi was essential for us. The entertainment package which includes the movies was very good I felt, with a few new films that are just out in dvd. Overall, it was an enjoyable time, although it was expensive for the 3 nights.
Tim (29 February 2016)

Couldn't ask for more, friendly staff, lovely home from home lodge
Sharon from Sheffield (26 February 2016)

It was amazing , just the peace that we needed. With the real world 30 minutes drive away :)
Marc from London (26 February 2016)

Love this place and visit every year. Great with dog and all the lodges are impeccably clean. You get no signal in the forest so the package with wifi is well worth the money and you also get a choice of around 125 films to watch and most are current
Nikita (12 February 2016)

Overall very relaxing break, good staff and helpful when required.
Julie from Kings Lynn . Norfolk (12 February 2016)

We had a lovely relaxing time in the forest & recommend it to anyone who wants a rest
Patricia from Pontefract (11 January 2016)

Lovely lodge and surroundings. Enjoyed hot tub and underfloor heating, great walks in forest. Tranquility spoilt by young adult gatherings for noisy parties, although night warden did his best to keep them quiet.
Michael from Suffolk (11 January 2016)

Can't fault thorpe lodges - it was exactly as described and was exactly what my girlfriend and I were looking for.
Darren from Dover, Kent (20 November 2015)

I loved it, will defiantly be booking again
Natalie from Walsall (16 November 2015)

We spent a great weekend there. Wonderful staff, nothing is too much for them.
Barry from Valkenswaard, The Netherlands (16 November 2015)

Fantastic! brilliant staff, excellent accommodation, clean and tidy. Really enjoyable. Thank you
Richard from Wakefield (09 November 2015)

I booked this break in order to spend quality time with my 2 sisters on the 1st anniversary of our mother's death. the cabin was the best place to be in at that time. We were able to enjoy the natural surroundings, the hot tub for reminiscing, we cooked for each other and had some great walks. . it was perfect for us and we would consider doing it again next year.
Marilyn from Sea Palling, (06 November 2015)

Excellent helpful staff and lovely surroundings
Lisa (02 November 2015)

Would not go again purely as there is no mobile signal and very bad wifi
Confirmed Holidaymaker (09 October 2015)

The place was really nice but we was not allowed to enjoy are self out due to are voices being to loud next time I will book one far away from others
Maureen (05 October 2015)

We stayed in a 3 bed golden oak n'26. It was clean, private & had all that's advertised. This was our 2nd stay with forest holidays the last being at blackwood forest & I must say the staff are much more approachable, friendly, helpful & thourghtful at thorpe as to blackwood. Having said that the lodge was what we were hoping & expecting, the view was just right from our hot tub, which we all adored ( kids 7-14 & adults in 30's) walks were great & maps were useful from the forest retreat.the only let down was when we checked in we were informed that the canoeing & archery activities had been cancelled, due to the adventure center next door cancelling the contract, which was highly disappointing as these were the only activities we wanted to do & wasn't a good start to our holiday but other than that it was everything we wished for! saw loads of birds, squirrals, muntjac deer & enjoyed the peaceful setting which is perfect for all ages whom desire to get back to nature with all the mod-coms & luxury you could ever need.we have booked again for next sept into a bigger lodge & am bringing my sister & brother inlaw & little nephew with us to experience the setting together, cant wait to return next year!
Bianca from Guildford (18 September 2015)

Best holiday ever, staff friendly only draw back if you just wanted wifi was very expensive so managed without
Margaret from Wellingborough (11 September 2015)

Our lodge was spacious, comfortable and well equipped and the woodland setting was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was excellent too. However, the holiday wasn't cheap and it was shock to find out that we had to pay an extra £35 to use the satellite tv and wifi and another £30 for a 12pm check out. We were also a bit taken aback by the fact that there were several fairly rowdy groups in other lodges but the noise did tend to die away in the late evening.
Richard from Sittingbourne (07 September 2015)

Had a lovely couple of days, had everything that you would need for a relaxing, stress free break. Thank you.
Kim from Hemel Hempstead (31 August 2015)

Enjoyed our 3-nights stay. Very impressed with warm welcome from staff who sat down with us and explained in great detail about the site. The lodge was fantastic- there was even a biscuit left for our dog as a welcome! lodges are very expensive so would have expected more facilities on site (ie indoor swimming pool and indoor games room). however the combined shop/restaurant/bar was very pleasant. Great for nature and forest walks. Would love to go again for a week but cost is an issue as prices are higher than other parks. Well worth a visit if you can afford it.
Rebecca from Burton On Trent (31 August 2015)

We stayed on a golden oak cabin, it was lovely and clean inside and has all mod cons. Would definitely recommend staying here, such a peaceful chilled out holiday, but also all tree top activities available to keep you occupied.
Lauren from Great Dunmow (24 August 2015)

Absolutely beautiful location, fabulous cabin - real luxury in the woods. Just a tad pricy for peak season as a family of 4
Leanne from Milton Keynes (14 August 2015)

A bit pricey but totally worth it
Helen from Norwich (10 August 2015)
