We rely enjoyed staying at sandown, the lodge was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Would stay there again.
John from Northamptonshire (27 November 2017)

The lodge was stunning. when we arrived it was pretty cold, however, and the heating upstairs was not working. we did not ring the emergency number but planned to go back to reception the next morning. however once the lodge had warmed up we had no issues whatsoever and didn't even need the heating upstairs! lots to do on site which is mostly free (bike hire, board games, dvds). good location, pretty close to the supermarket for shopping and town if you want to go for a wander. staff were welcoming and friendly. lodge was well equipped and had most things you would need for a weekend stay. we would definitely come back.
Sophie (27 November 2017)

We found the lodge and all the surrounding facilities was just what we needed. We will definitely be going back again next year.

We have an excellent week away at swandown. The lodge was lovely and the facilities were excellent.
Matthew from Grays (03 November 2017)

The lodges were amazing they are modern and have everything in them that you need and more. The views are fanatastic. The facilities are brilliant with an onsite swimming pool, bikes to hire out for free, games and dvds you can rent out for free. Also being able to use the hotel facilities is an added bonus. The location of the lodges are great not far from the coast and other big towns.
Laura from Newbury (30 October 2017)

Beautiful accommodation, very clean and well equipped. Very peaceful environment, wonderful views just what we needed to relax. staff very welcoming and helpful. We used the bikes which were free of charge and also made use of the indoor pool. We walked to the nearby hotel a couple of times and had spa treatments. We also ate at the whinwhistle inn which was good value for the quality of the food. Sunday night is quiz night at the pub and the locals were very friendly. Our party also made use of the local golf club which they said was a good course. Can't wait to go back
Elizabeth from Southampton (27 October 2017)

Our second stay at swandown lodges was as restful and enjoyable as the first, two and a half years ago. The lodges are very well presented, comfortable and finished to a high standard. The views are spectacular. The staff are super-friendly and helpful. We just wish that we could have stayed longer.
Jane from Suffolk (27 October 2017)

Fantastic lodge in beautiful grounds and the most helpful staff. . nothing was too much for mat.
Clare from Hertfordshire (27 October 2017)

Excellent! very comfy and well furnished. The welcoming touch of bread, milk and jam was a nice thought.
Tracy (20 October 2017)

Fab place to stay if you enjoy peace and quiet there is a small pool and bike hire (no charge) and a fantastic pub with in walking distance well worth a visit.
Elizabeth from Taunton Somerset (20 October 2017)

This was our second time in a swandown lodge, the first time it was just the two of us and this time we took all the family, including two small children. Everyone had a fabulous time, there was plenty of space and all mod cons and more. We all came away feeling relaxed, refreshed and thinking "when can we do this again?!"
Evie from Poole (16 October 2017)

Lovely clean lodge in beautiful surroundings . all mod cons - home from home. A couple of minor issues whilst there but immediately sorted by the estate manager who was very helpful and friendly.
Sarah (16 October 2017)

Fantastic lodge. Go every year on a ladies holiday and have a brilliant time every year. Love it.
Alison from Bristol (16 October 2017)

Lucy (13 October 2017)

Lovely lodges and very well equipped. Booked for next year
Gayle from Eastleigh (09 October 2017)

The lodges were equipped to a very high standard and spotless. The main lounge was light and airy and the kitchen had everything. Andy the on site manager was helpful and made our stay very pleasant. Use of the warner leisure hotel on site was great and the parkland setting was fabulous. S. We would have no hesitation in staying at this location again
Alan from Bradford West Yorkshire (09 October 2017)

Beautiful lodge loved the layout and outlook. And lucky with the weather too. Everything we could have needed in the lodge and the underfloor heating was great. The hot tub wasn't the best we've been in as the jets werent powerful but to be fair we didn't mention it during our stay, only as we were leaving. Free bike hire too if wanted. Would definitely consider staying again.
Alison (09 October 2017)

We all really enjoyed our holiday. The accommodation was to a high standard and it was great to have a swimming pool a few feet away. We were lucky to have the swimming pool to ourselves each time we visited.
Gary from Hampshire (06 October 2017)

First class accommodation and very efficient and friendly staff. We have visited here for four consecutive years and always enjoyed our stay. We hope to go again.

David from Knottingley (29 September 2017)

Amazing place. The lodges are beautiful as is the area and setting. The staff are helpful, welcoming and informative. We love it here and can't wait to book our next trip.
Katie from Isle Of Wight (29 September 2017)

Very peaceful, relaxing weekend with our family in one of the polden lodges. enjoyed the use of the bikes & facilities at cricket st thomas. everything we needed in the kitchen, great bbq & fantastic hot tub!
Jules from Somerset (25 September 2017)

Another great holiday at swandown, this place is so beautiful and the lodges are wonderful, hopefully, I can keep coming back time after time!. if I really look hard to find a fault, the only thing I can think of is the beds are on the soft side for my liking, especially the single beds but I think these are supposed to be for children rather than an adult.
Joanne from Chafford Hundred (22 September 2017)

Beautiful accommodation freindly staff. Best stay ever.
Gillian (22 September 2017)

Brilliant holiday, just needs a little tlc on accommodation.
Jason (22 September 2017)

Lodge amazing.views great.peaceful and relaxing. Loved the hot tub and welcome pack.
Judi from Paignton (15 September 2017)

This is a fabulous place. The lodge was just perfect. Quiet, beautiful countryside and everything you need in the lodge.
Ruth from Macclesfield (15 September 2017)

Excellent place to visit. two adults and a 2 year old. The lodge is in an excellent location with a superb pub across the road with a large playing area. The hot tubs are very large and give amzing views of the countryside as its placed high on the hilltop. The service from andy (site manager) is brilliant, though I think the other guy who checked us in (owner I believe) wasn't the best. he seemed to be a little out of control. . 2nd time we have stayed here, will most likely book for next year
Jay from The Hot Tubs Are Very Large And Give Amzing Views (08 September 2017)

We travelled as a family of 6, 3 adults including a pensioner, and 3 children aged 7-14. We had an amazing holiday from start to finish. Both andy and matt were so helpful in the run-up to, and during, our break. We had some maintenance issues with the property on arrival and these were quickly rectified. Having the option of having our food shop delivered on our arrival day really helped as we usually spend the first couple of hours of any holiday sorting food shopping. You could also have takeaway food delivered to the lodge. There are also several major supermarkets within a short drive (7 mins to a large tesco superstore). . the site was lovely with stunning views and was secure from unwanted vehicles entering, with a coded security gate. We loved having unlimited access to the indoor pool (which we had to ourselves every time we used it!), plus the free bike, dvd, board game and computer console rental was great also. They also provide free outdoor play accessories such as balls and kids rackets etc.. for the small sports area (tennis/football nets plus basketball hoop) and they have a small play area with wooden climbing frames and tyres. Me and my mum made use of the warner leisure hotel on site. We had afternoon yea, which was mediocre at best to ne honest, free spa access (lovely) and as swandown guests we got 20% off their spa treatments which was an added bonus. The ladies in the spa were fab! . . lots of advice in swandown reception about where to go and what to do and there really is lots all within an hour's drive. The local pub, the eindwhistle inn)is very nice for a drink but we did not enjoy our experience in the restaurant unfortunately so cannot recommend that. We enjoyed a visit to monkey world in dorset (anazing), to weston-super-mare in somerset (lovely day out), plus we loved fossil hunting on the very pretty charmouth beach. . . but the most amazing thing for us was the lodge. We stayed in goldenhaye and it was amazing! two stories high, floor to ceiling windiws with lovely views, underfloor heating, log fire place, all three bedrooms ensuite, and outside thete was a bbq, seating and hot tub which was always kept at the perfect temperature. The lodge was very homely with every amenity we could ask for and all really good quality. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in with high quality feather bedding. The lodge really was the highlight for us all. . . we never book the same place twice but we would return here in a heartbeat.
Emma from London (04 September 2017)

One week at swandown lodge, best break ever, so peaceful, beautiful lodges, this was our third time, usually we book for 3nights. Which was never long enough. The setting of the lodges are picturess, sitting in the hot tub watching the sunset or sunrise, you cant beat it. You feel so relaxed. I would like to thank matt for being so helpful. He alway had a smile on his face. Cant wait to book again. . millie
Millie from London (01 September 2017)

Great spot, amazing views, quality lodge. Staff very friendly , approachable and helpful.
Claire from Cheltenham (01 September 2017)

Stayed in the poldon lodge, with hot tub - lovely, clean, well maintained - in a stunning & peaceful location. Perfect for a relaxing countryside holiday. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again
Mark from Birmingham (01 September 2017)

Nice setting with a good range of on site activities including bike hire, sports field with equipment and swimming pool. unfortunately the goldenhay lodge that we stayed in needed some updating. hot tub was very disappointing with only 1 jet working. Settees far too deep and soft for older members of our group. For the money paid we would expect a shower in the main bedroom rather than only a bath.
David (25 August 2017)

Our best location choice to date. The accomodation, staff, facilities and location were all perfect. Will definitely return.
Alwyn from Chippenham (25 August 2017)

We had a great holiday stay and would recommend staying here! we used the lodge as our base and explored the surrounding areas. Beautiful walks through the estate and great to have the use of an indoor pool.
Tracy from Chatham Kent (21 August 2017)

Had a lovely relaxing week at swandown. We were a party of 6 adults & 2 babies. The site was very clean & peaceful. Andy & staff were always able to sort out any hic cup that may be encountered. The lodge was very well equipped, cycles to borrow of a good standard.i can't think of anything to improve a holiday at swandown.
Deborah from Leicester (21 August 2017)

Very good !
Andrew (18 August 2017)

A thoroughly relaxing location, time away from the stress of everyday.
Jayne from Swansea (11 August 2017)

Beautifully appointed lodges in a fantastic location. We stayed for 2 weeks which allowed us to really relax and explore. We loved relaxing in the hot tub in the evening looking out at the fabulous views over open fields. The kids really enjoyed the on-site swimming pool and took advantage of the bikes, games and dvds. I would highly recommend this as a great holiday location with super facilities and helpful, friendly staff.
Helen from Crewe (11 August 2017)

Second visit and just fantastic. A wonderfully relaxing escape for a week. Cannot fault anything.
Susan from Birmingham (11 August 2017)

Great holiday and accommodation but not too much to do with the kids when it's raining but not the parks fault !
Ian (11 August 2017)

The lodge was very spacious for two of us and well equipped. Beds were very comfortable, lots of hot water, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Wide selection of information leaflets available at reception. Staff very friendly.
Susan from Cheltenham (11 August 2017)

Lovely place easy reach of lyme regis, good pub within walking distance, wish we had realised you could use the warner hotel facilities before we travelled.
Susan (04 August 2017)

Excellent base, great facilities for children
Robert from Northampton (04 August 2017)

We had 2 grandchildren with us. The swimming pool across the road was a real bonus.trip switch went down for shower curcit but manager sorted it.visited sea, hide café, westbay. Disappointed by forde abbey. Expensive and not child friendly. House closed on a monday!. neede medical care .chard minor injuries was a boon. . visited cricket st thomas hotel .open invite to gardens was meted with some disapproval by some residents. Not as good as bembrige isle of wight.
Robert from Cheltenham (04 August 2017)

7 nights at the goldenhaye lodge which was great. The mamangement and staff were outstanding and willing to help with everything.
Ian from North Wales (04 August 2017)

It was a lovely holiday lodge, beautifully laid out and in a stunning location. the pool, although small was great for rainy days and there were a number of great attractions near by.
Katherine from Gloucester (04 August 2017)

Really enjoyed our stay. staff very friendly and would definitely stay here again.
Christopher (31 July 2017)

The one thing I found disappointing about the lodge was the size, I expected it to be a lot bigger considering how much we paid.
Sara (28 July 2017)

The accommodation was very spacious, although we like previous reviewers did find ourselves walking into bed corners! the lodge was immaculately clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. We made use of the bikes and the field for sports but did not try the swimming pool. again like previous reviewers we found the way back up the hill on the bike a little tough! the site was well positioned for access to local supermarkets and the pub opposite had gorgeous views over the somerset levels.
Lynne from East Sussex (21 July 2017)

The lodge was lovely and was absolutely spotless, I could not fault the cleanliness. The sofas were the most uncomfortable I have ever come across, these need addressing seeing as the cost was very high. The area is very picturesque but is quite secluded so prepare to travel for days out. The site does get quite lonely during the day as most people do go out, with this in mind make sure you lock your door as we had an uninvited visitor when we stayed, a man just walked into our lodge and I found him snooping about, gave me quite a fright. Overall a lovely holiday that was a little over priced but we would stay again.
Richard from Llanelli (17 July 2017)

Great holiday in a beautiful part of britain, the lodge is stunning and andy was a great host. The only complaint from our party was the hot tub wasn't as powerful as we'd normally expect which isn't bad going.
Chris from Glasgow (14 July 2017)

Enjoyed a long weekend here, the surroundings are beautiful a lovely view of the countryside from the balcony. The lodge itself very well equipped and a lovely pub close by. Would definitely recommend
Elizabeth from Kent (10 July 2017)

First class accommodation. Location and facilities perfect for a relaxing family holiday. staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, made us feel very welcome.
Julia from Carluke (07 July 2017)

Second year there - no problems
John from Whitchurch (07 July 2017)

It was great; beautiful surroundings, a charming farm and service minded staff. The lodge was spacious and top class. Close to everything. Only con was dining, both at the local pub and the close by golf club. Barbecue and dine with a wonderful view at the lodge instead.
Joakim from London (30 June 2017)

Beautiful accommodation. there could be more for kids tho. Just a small field with ball games and a forrest "gym" with one swing. invest in park like equipment. pool on the small side but kept very clean and tidy. Bike equipment great but could do with closer attention.
Customer 73 (23 June 2017)

Swandown for me is everything I could want in a holiday, it's so beautiful, there are so many walks locally and it's only a short journey to the coast. I really feel like I have left the world behind me when i'm there, all life stresses simply disappear. I love the swimming / steam room etc at the hotel which adults can use so even if the weather isn't good you have facilities close by. the views are fantastic, I love just sitting looking over the valley.
Joanne from Chafford Hundred (23 June 2017)

Amazing place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff, nothing is too much trpuble. High quality accommodation. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Joanne (16 June 2017)

James from Heathfield (12 June 2017)

Met by friendly helpful staff. Fabulous lodge, modern and well equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub but the pool was a bit disappointing.

This was a beautiful location. With amazing lodge. Plenty to do in the area. Very friendly people.

Not a cheap place to stay but the quality of the accommodation was excellent, some lovely touches like having free use of bikes during your stay, grocery pack etc. and the use of the warner hotel if you wanted

Julie from Southampton (22 May 2017)

We all enjoyed our short holiday and couldn't fault the lodge which was lovely and comfortable. The estate was a lovely surprise and we felt privileged to have access to it; we particularly enjoyed the walks.
Lynne from Wellingborough (19 May 2017)

Great location with stunning views and plenty of interesting towns nearby, (check out crewkerne's antique trail). reception staff at spa didn't know anything about a treatment I was interested in and could have been a bit more helpful when I enquired about spa facilities. However, massage from holly, (?) was wonderfully relaxing. Overall a much needed holiday and so enjoyable that we are coming again in october!
Maria from Poole (19 May 2017)

Swandown lodges are in a super location, overlooking a beautiful green valley. good facilities and very well kitted out lodges. this was our 3rd visit and we'll go back again.

Debbie from Exeter (01 May 2017)

The best accommodation we have stayed in, the lodges are beautiful and my little boy didn't want to leave ever! the location is beautiful and the staff so helpful. I'd come back in a heartbeat
Samantha from Brierley Hill (28 April 2017)

We had a wonderful week at swandown lodges. the accommodation was fantastic and we had everything we could have wished for. our daughter is 20 months so it was great to have a proper cot provided for her to sleep in and a high chair. The location is great for visiting somerset or dorset and having the cows come up to the gate each morning was a real treat!. the only thing I would say as a (tiny) negative, would be the temperature of the hot tub. I like a lot of heat but it was almost too much for me, and my other half could barely get in. we've stayed in lots of places with hot tubs so are used to them but it was too hot to sit in and enjoy.
Martin from Northampton (28 April 2017)

Amazing place, manager and staff were amazing, lovely break
Natasha from Waterlooville (24 April 2017)

Excellent accommodation in beautiful surroundings with easy access to health club and spa and beautiful walks. Peaceful and comfortable surroundings added to a wonderful weekend with friends to celebrate my daughters up coming wedding. It was a perfect setting for our two groups of 6 friends to get together and enjoy being with each other in comfort and style.
Eunice from Seaborough (24 April 2017)

What a wonderful property to use as a base for our celebrations. It was perfect in every way. We enjoyed the comfortable surroundings, the glorious hot tub,the garden, the views, the patio and the well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the facilities at cricket st thomas and had a wonderful afternoon tea in the main house. We enjoyed the walks around the lodges and around the park at cricket. I would recommend these lodges with no hesitation.
Eunice from Seaborough (24 April 2017)

The site is located close to local amenities and tourist attractions. The views of the countryside are stunning. We made use of the swimming pool, the bikes and the play area, all were great and well resourced.
Maxine from Fareham (24 April 2017)

We had a brilliant weekend away, so relaxing. . andy was more than helpful. A credit to the lodges. The windwhistle had lovely food and amazing views definitely worth a walk over. We have already recommended and will continue to. Certainly will visit again. Thank you.
Carmen from Andover (24 April 2017)

A truly amazing place. It was in a perfect location with the benefit of free bike hire and a swimming pool. Whenever we take our annual uk holiday we love to get out and explore what's on offer in and around the surrounding area we are staying. This was our first holiday when we hardly went off site. We stayed in lodge 5 right up the top of the cal-de-sac, which had breath taking views from the large garden. Our children were happy to play out in the garden, go to the adventure play area and visit the pool.
Parmjit from Chesyn Hay (24 April 2017)

Stunning lodges in a stunning location. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. The lodge was very well equipped even more than we thought it would be.
Joanne from Salisbury (21 April 2017)

Fabulous stay at swandown. beautiful lodge, stunning scenery and helpful staff.
Susan from Leicester (21 April 2017)

Fantastic lodges set in a beautiful spot. Insides are well designed and the kitchens well stocked with all the utensils, crockery and extras that you could need. The small indoor pool is great to let the kids splash around in for a while and the bike store is fully equipped with decent bikes. A really enjoyable stay!
Julian from Trowbridge (21 April 2017)

Keith from South Gloucestershire. (20 March 2017)

Chalet was absolutely luxurious, we had a great time with the family, for our grandsons 30th birthday, unfortunely we found the surounds i.e corners of the beds a problem one member tripping ,having a nasty fall ,others bruises to their legs,
Terry from Bristol (20 March 2017)

Absolutely superb accommodation, location and facilities. nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we were made to feel very welcome. the swimming pool and free use of the bikes was a very appreciated addition to our stay. This was absolutely a 5star accommodation and I would highly recommend to anyone. we came with family to celebrate my 40th birthday but would love to come back again next year
Hazel from Southampton (20 March 2017)

Wonderful stay. Helpful and friendly staff on arrival and the house was beautiful. very well equipped and spotlessly clean. the owners had thought of everything. Lovely touches of food and tea, coffee and milk waiting for us was very welcome. Hot tub was a real bonus with wonderful views. Would certainly like to return one day.

Very well maintained and spotlessly clean lodges. enjoyed a wonderful weekend where staff were friendly and informative. would definitely stay again.
Anne from Poole (13 March 2017)

Brilliant weekend away! we went with our 3 year old and the set up was perfect. The location is great, and easily accessible to shops, while being in a quiet location with great views! we didn't get to do much as the weather let us down and our daughter wasn't well, but it meant we fully appreciated what was on offer on site - hot, pool, and the cosy lounge with log burner. The local pub is great too!! would definitely go back and have already recommended the site to several friends!
Luke from Surrey (13 March 2017)

Really enjoyed ourselves.
Phillip from Wakefield (10 March 2017)

Daryl (03 March 2017)

The lodges are lovely but could do with a new sofa and a few things doing. Quiet location most of the time but you can hear the cars going over the cattle grid often coming from cricket st.thomas.
Katherine (03 March 2017)

Had a lovely half term break. Would definitely stay again.
Kerstey (24 February 2017)

Beautiful lodge, in a beautiful setting. Pub ideally located, nice little pool. Very helpful staff. Can't wait to book again.
Gemma from Retford (02 January 2017)

We had an amazing holiday from start to finish, we arrived to a decorated christmas tree and some basic provisions (and a christmas pud) to get us started. the lodge was even better than we'd expected and was so clean we all immediately felt relaxed and at home. nothing was too much trouble and andy even came out on christmas eve to ensure the teenage member of our party was able to stay in contact with friends via the wi-fi. we enjoyed walks and bike rides around the area, used the swimming pool and loved the hot tub. the views from our balcony were fantastic and we loved watching the sunrise and sunset each day and at night time the stars were amazing. this is undoubtedly the best lodge we have stayed in and none of us wanted to leave.
Sarah (30 December 2016)

Very nice lodge in beautiful surroundings. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Couple of small diy issues. Shower roses needed de-scaling, light loose in kitchen, bath plug needed attention. Otherwise facilities very good. Great to have a bathroom for each bedroom. Pool and hot tub very well maintained and clean. Overall - very enjoyable christmas stay!
Margaret from Esher, Surrey (30 December 2016)

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Lodges are lovely .
Brian from Poole (10 October 2016)
