Very good for a short stay
Adrian (07 October 2016)

Lovely, friendly holiday park with views to die for.
Customer 2 from Verwood (30 September 2016)

Fab place to stay, relax and unwind.very peaceful and so fresh.despite the rain,it was the most pleasant stay we had-the staff were friendly&helpful, the neighbors were friendly and the whole place was refreshing.
Eden from London (30 September 2016)

Only there for 3 nights but the static van was clean and comfortable, and suitable for a solo traveller. Didn't really visit the amenities so cannot comment. Saw the staff briefly to get keys and return them, and they were quite friendly.
Tony from Sydney, Australia (26 September 2016)

Even though the pool etc is new it was a surprise to find damaged toilets. Changing room very cold. Also confusing signage on shower doors. Appears no showers for females.
John from Sheffield (24 September 2016)

Really enjoyed our stay here the pool and restaurant in the club house were very good. The food and drink was very good but not over priced.
Susan from Telford (24 September 2016)

The holiday was so bad we had to go out to barmouth for a drink and some where for the children in would not wish to go there again
Angela from Biringham (17 September 2016)

Great would be back again, great setting, close to the beach, pool was great, caravan really nice and clean cant complain about anything. Thanks
Sarah (16 September 2016)

A very pleasant place and a good centre for seeing the surrounding countryside
Georgina from Sandbach (13 September 2016)

It wasn't for us but it might suit others. very quiet and peaceful. we had a slight view of the sea from our caravan which was beautiful. we were on beach way. the shop had limited items and you had to book a table for the restaurant. you couldn't just walk in and sit down. staff friendly and helpful.
Heather from Corby (12 September 2016)

Enjoyed the whole holiday break very much.very clean accomodation and site.
Paul from Burton On Trent (09 September 2016)

The park is well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The caravan was lovely and the facilities were excellent. We took a dog with us and there were plenty of walking opportunities both on site and in the surrounding area. The only drawback was that the local beach is very stony and we had to get over the stones to get to the sand - although there are very good beaches in barmouth which is only a few miles away by car.
Julie from Stafford (09 September 2016)

Excellent holiday in a great location. Will definitely return with the kids and dog
Michelle from Lancashire (03 September 2016)

The holiday park has a lovely indoor pool and spacious bar area. . . the restaurant is apparently always full so it's best to drive 15-20 to the nearest pub or restaurant. . . the bar doesn't serve snacks and the one time I wanted a hot drink, the machine was broken. Drinks are reasonably priced. . the indoor play and arcade area is fairly small so it's great for entertaining young children. Due to the size it only keeps them entertained for about half an hour. . . the outdoor playground is spacious and provides plenty of running space. . . . the pool is clean and looks quite new. There are some strange swimming rules that we were expected to follow although another group were not. We were told my husband and daughter could not swim unless another non swimming adult was waiting at the side of the pool. Fair enough, I was prepared to wait and went to the pool side. But when I went in, another man and a young boy was already in the pool with no other non swimming adult. I was confused why we were told a non swimmer had to be there yet the previous group hadn't. It wa confusing why there's one rule for us and another rule for someone else. As it was the last day, I did not feel the need to ask. I left the pool side once more adults arrived. . . I did wonder what if a single parent came on holiday with their child. Does that mean they aren't allowed to use the pool facilities? . . the location is 15 min drive away from the nearest town. Trips were needed for shopping supplies and meals out. Barmouth, a built up seaside resort, is half hr drive which has a sandy beach, plenty of restaurants and entertainment for the kids. I would recommend a day to portmeirion which is an hrs drive. There's plenty of things to do if you're willing to drive. . . as the phone and wifi signal is poor, it would have been nice to be provided with a list of nearby restaurants. It was a struggle to research online whilst we were there. We visited the ones that we drove by earlier so had no idea of quality or price. . . if you need a travel cot, call the holiday park and not ho seasons. I spoke to ho seasons who told me travel cots are not available. However the lady at sunbeach called the day before and informed we cld have requested one if they had known earlier. I could have waited till 10am on the day of arrival for confirmation but we had to leave home at 8am
Katie (02 September 2016)

Really enjoyed holiday , caravan clean and modern would recommend
Jane from Birmingham (29 August 2016)

Lovely break here the setting is superb & plenty of places to visit nearby. Our caravan was spotless throughout. The food in the restaurant was lovely. The on site shop was a little disappointing & also could have opened earlier. Overall excellent.
Mark from Dukinfield (26 August 2016)

This is by far the best place i've been in a long time, our caravan was beautiful infact a massive highlight of our break lol stunning views from our caravan and seconds from the beach, which was stony but if your children love rock pooling like mine then the beach is perfect. The meals there were perfect great prices for nice homemade meals and puddings. Wish we could have stayed here longer.
Hannah from Llwyngwril (15 August 2016)

Caravan gorgeous, lovely indoor pool, only thing that wasn't the best was the beach. It's not very good at all, but apart from that great place
Stephen from Coventry (13 August 2016)

Great holiday park. Lovely pool. It would be better if they opened for food every day.
Kerry from Preston (13 August 2016)

Caravan park well equipped. Dire located
Pru (12 August 2016)

Wow what a wonderful caravan. We have been to this site before and would recommend it to anyone. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely location. Great
Michael from Staffordshire (12 August 2016)

Shame restaurant wasn't open on the first few nights we were there but overall a lovely and peaceful park
Alison from Solihull (12 August 2016)

Nice park, good base for exploring snowdonia, however having put a deposit down when arrived at the park, yet to see it returned after two months!having rang the park and been told it would be returned and having not seen any deposit returned as yet ,can not reccomend this park to anyone
Steven (06 August 2016)

Lovely quiet park with gorgeous sea views one way and countryside views the other way. Caravan was very clean, almost brand new and well equipped. Beautiful rock/pebble beach with rock pools at low tide. Couldn't really enjoy it that much as it's not very suitable for very small kiddies like our 19 month old, but gorgeous nonetheless. The only things we could comment on was the pool being very cold so we could only go in it for 20min before our girl started to shiver. We had quite wet weather so a nice warmer pool would have been brilliant. The laundrette has only got two machine and we had to try 3 times before we had an available one and it wasn't even busy in the park. The park could benefit from a proper shop too as the nearest one is miles away towards the bigger towns. But these are minor issues, we had a lovely week and being in the middle of snowdonia there's too much beauty around you to be put off by this. Defenitely recommend it!
Monique from Chorley (06 August 2016)

A really lovely time we had staying here. Very clean. Lovely pool. We would definitely stay here again. No problems with anything.
Timothy from Havant (30 July 2016)

We had an ok time, but the weather was poor, and the campsite seemed half empty, so not much holiday atmosphere. Campsite location was poor for reaching local attractions.
Jeremy from Attleborough (29 July 2016)

Lovely park, great for whole family. Fantastic caravan.we have a young daughter, and it was good that a,there were other families on the park and b,nice and quiet in the evenings even when there was entertainment in the clubhouse,we have stayed at other parks and been kept up all night, and any complaint has been met with abuse.thank-you for a lovely holiday.
Anthony from Manchester (23 July 2016)

Excellent
Andrew (23 July 2016)

We stayed in a exellent van it was much nicer than expected. The site is lovely and quiet and van was 1min away from beach. We arrived at 4 as advised and check in was fast and very straight forward. as we had travelled for 3.5hrs we thought un pack and go to restaurant to eat. However this was closed for 2days and thought we'd go to what we thought was a chippy on site, oh no chippy is in a small village off site, also closed. 20mile drive later landed in barmouth and managed to get fed and watered at 9pm. Was a bit of a shock to the system. Next day had a great day went back to barmouth it was the hottest day so far of 2016 and beach could be anywhere abroad. . I had no bad views personally as it was the best 4 days of doing nothing I could of wanted. Our party was my daughter n her best friend both 16. My wife an i. My only negative would be lack of facilities for the older teenager as the park has kiddy park and ball pit, but not much in the way of entertainment for older children and is too far out to let them wonder off on there own. Ie they can't drive. If you just want an exellent base or to relax it's got to score 11/10 but as we had taken 2 teenages i'd say a strong 7. Stayed monday/friday and enjoyed every day. Would recommend and go again. It would of been better to have a more honest description of site facilities before we arrived.
Stewart from Appley Bridge (22 July 2016)

This is a great place to go with good value for money. Good for little ones and the pool area is amazing.
Sarah from Cheshire (18 July 2016)

Site very good but had to motor miles to see various places. Shopping was a distance away.
Eric from Reading (16 July 2016)

Stayed in a fairly new caravan which was spotless. It was nice to have a 'welcome' pack of tea, coffee etc on arrival. Some of the 'kitting out' could have been better. The caravan had very small sinks in both bathrooms, hardly big enough to brush teeth let alone shave / wash in. The boiler was missing it's operating instructions. There was a hoover, ironing board, iron and clothes airing rack which were very useful. The cooking and food preparation equipment was very basic with a chopping board that was about the size of a slice of bread. The site was spotless and well kept as was the swimming pool and site complex. The on-site restaurant food was good although the menu was limited. The restaurant was not open on the sunday evening or monday and tuesday, although meals were available in the bar. The area was scenic but very limited for family activities and entertainment, especially for very young children.
Nicholas (16 July 2016)

Nice site but bit remote with no footpaths into local village. Dog friendly but do beware. You cant leave then in the vans unattended and you cant take them in the bar so does make things awkward.
Nigel from Rainham Kent (15 July 2016)

I have been coming to this site for 20 years. Absolutely love it here. We used to have a caravan unfortunately we don't have it anymore yet every year I still love to go. It's a lovely site and its in a beautiful location.
Hayley (15 July 2016)

Did not like the fact that they did not service food sunday evenings, all day monday and all day tuesday. nowhere locally to eat and don't come on holiday to cook.
Kelly from Midlands (15 July 2016)

We had a good week but sadly we had no tv kept complain that it was broken and finally got a replacement just before we left otherwise it wasn't too bad thanks june. . .
June from Cheshire (09 July 2016)

Didn't use facilities so cannot really comment on those. Receptionist on arrival very pleasant and helpful. Caravan beautiful, with view of sea. Excellent base for visiting the area. Would defiantly stay again if re-visiting are?
Carol (04 July 2016)

We were on mariners way and was meant to be dog friendly but balcony was not enclosed like some on beach walk. Lack of shop on site was really inconvenient as office only carried small supplies. Site is beautiful and in a glorious location. Friendly staff and excellent food in restaurant. weather spoilt our stay a little.
Rita from Birmingham (02 July 2016)

We stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 children aged 3 and 6 months. We were contacted the day before we checked in and told that our accommodation was already and waiting for us, so we travelled down early. . we were very happy with the quality of the accommodation. It looked brand new and had all the facilities we required for our stay. . we stayed during school term and because of this the pool was empty, which was great. . the beach was a couple of minutes walk away although you can't take a pram in there because it's a pebble beach but our 3 year old still loved it. . the outdoor park was great but it rained for most of our stay so we spent most of our time indoors. The indoor play area for kids was a little small but overall we were very happy with our stay at sunbeach.
Richard from Cheshire (01 July 2016)

We had a lovely holiday at sunbeach holiday park back in june 2016. If you have a young family this is definitely the place for you as there is so much to do on site. . the caravan was immaculate and very comfortable. The only things I would have to find fault with the caravan was that there were no oven gloves so cooking in the caravan was a bit of a hazard. We bought tea towels however we would of thought the caravan would have been supplied with oven gloves. . the views from the caravan site are breathtaking especially when the sun sets. . it was also such a shame that the beach was so rocky as its not safe with a toddler. I would highly recommend sunbeach holiday park it truly is one of the best holidays we have had in north wales
Joanna from Cambridge (25 June 2016)

Barmouth is 18 miles away, we found it too remote, no nice places to eat near the onsite restaurant is closed mon & tues so we ended up eating in a lot! other than that it's a lovely site if u are after a quiet week!
Nicola (25 June 2016)

Lovely location and surroundings, although the coastal road leading to the park is a bit of a white knuckle ride. the staff at sunbeach are helpful and quickly resolved a problem with the boiler pressure in the caravan. modern van, large kitchen area but small living area with uncomfortable seating; beds are also uncomfortable. large decking with a fantastic sea view - we took our own outdoor seating as none provided by the park. . the site no longer has a shop - basic provisions are sold in the reception area. There is a larger co-op store in tywyn. . the park's restaurant is ok but has a strange booking system. we were also told by staff in the restaurant that sunday breakfast would be served between 9.30 -11.00 ( a notice is displayed inside the restaurant advertising sunday breakfast times) but when we arrived on sunday morning the restaurant was closed and reception informed us that they did not open on sunday mornings. . sunbeach is a lovely place and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Lynette from Dudley, West Midlands (18 June 2016)

Pamela from Stoke On Trent (06 May 2016)

Sunbeach holiday park was very well presented and in an excellent position for travelling around the area. the bar and restaurant was excellent. we found the caravan clean and very well equipped. we would highly recommend sunbeach. patio furniture would have been now.

Lovely park with great views all around. . nice caravan with complimentary tea, coffee and milk to get you going and even a weeks supply of toilet paper. Good restaurant with friendly staff and more great views. . nice pub not too far up the road and a co-op in a small town 10 miles away, there's a great fish and chip shop there too. Maybe not the best if you like a busy noisier park, for the 3 of us it was about perfect

Really impressed with the park and caravan. We had a superior 3 which was just lovely throughout. . the bar was reasonable. The view from the bar is stunning especially at sunset. We ate at the restaurant for lunch one day which unfortunately was very disappointing. . the pool facilities are excellent for young and adults. . the park is in a great location for exploring wales. The beach the park is on is not the best compared to others in the area. . the blue lagoon is very close which is worth a trip

Lovely caravan and park. swimming pool great, food good and good night in the bar with the quiz. would recommend this park. need transport to get to the beach.
Joanne from Lichfield (09 April 2016)

We've stayed at sunbeach a couple of times at easter now, mainly because of the fantastic location - being able to wander down from the caravan to the beach at sunset, with the surrounding mountains as a backdrop is wonderful. the park is well maintained and mostly privately owned, with only a few managed rental caravans. on both occasions the caravans have been fine and well decorated with all that you'd expect. we had a warm welcome from the young woman on reception and from the man serving at the bar the one time we went. other than that we had no need to interact with staff at all. we'll probably go back.

Staff were excellent and friendly. The restaurant was closed when we visited, but the décor and ambience of the bar says it would be good. Swimming pool was great and changing area clean. Could do with a better stocked shop, due to the shops being so far away. It was a very peaceful and relaxing break for us in february, which is just what we were looking for.
Alison from Sale (19 February 2016)

Beautiful views ..whether it is the sea or the mountains ... facilities are great , staff very pleasant .. only one snag was that there had been a lot of rain before we arrived and it made going back and forth to the caravan rather muddy and with three under five it was a nuisance .. please do not let this put you off just be prepared to either have wellingtons or a pair of old boots to hand to come in and out of the van . definitely would return .

I were very disappointed because of whether. It was raining all day all night, we did not had any path to our caravan we were walking on wet grass and mud. Pool area were closed for couple of days, and when finally their open it, the working hours were from 10 to 3 pm , when we were traveling and exploring wales.

Caravan was massive, fully centrally heated, with everything you could need. Beautiful condition, like new. Perfect for our out of season chill out!. only negative I could say is that it was a bit tight getting in and out of our parking space by our van due to proximity of next van and tight corner. Would definitely go again!,

We absolutely loved our 3 days here despite 70mph winds and constant heavy rain. Park, facilities and caravan were spotless; cleanest we have ever had. Despite only a handful of other people there at the time I think it helped us to enjoy the pool all to ourselves that bit more. We didn't eat in the restaurant as just hadn't planned to. A good small site with excellent beach access in a great location for exploring by car. As weather was so bad we didn't get out on foot. We would certainly return. Thank you.

Caravan was very clean and tidy and park is set in a lovely location. However, shops ie supermarkets are not really in walking distance so you need to go well stocked. There is a small shop on site but it only sells basic supplies. That said we enjoyed our break and have booked again

Unfortunately on arriving at the caravan I found cutlery saucepans dirty and rusty together with crockery etc. . we were informed there was no restaurant open the whole of our stay which is advertised, no discount offered. . beds and bed linen of good quality, but, caravan only standard quality for a hire fleet. . new pool looks fabulous, fantastic improvement. Well done to allens.

Had a very nice stay, caravan was clean and plenty of room, site nice, one down side was the beach I love sitting on a sandy beach, but I shall be back in 2016. Area is good for walking, we had a 1 mile to the nearest shop as the shop was closed on site, as none of us drives so it walk, bus and train to get around that was ok. Grandchildren love the pool and games room, perhaps some more game tables would be great. Recommend site.

Lovely staff and a nice quiet placd for a weeks rest.
Stephen from Bolton (30 October 2015)

Close this holiday park, as believed it would be lovely resort with some evening entertainment, restaurant, bar and childrens facilities. sadly disappointed with the resort. . . the caravan was lovely so no complaints over the accommodation itself. . . restaurant was a café with very few meals on offer, very disappointing vegetarian options. I opted for cheese pizza which was burnt around the edges and uncooked in the middle, so never ate there again. . shop closes at 4pm, however it was only a few shelves at the side of reception, so very little on offer. . there is only 1 bar although service was good, there was zero entertainment except a music channel on the tv turned down low, and on the thursday there was a quiz, but that was it, not quite the entertainment we were lead to believe there would be. . kids facilities, there is a small soft play area, sadly over run with despondent teenagers throwing balls and climbing on top of the frame itself, reported to staff but apart from asking could they stop didn't actually do anything, its designed for 5 years old and below, but very few children of that age range due to the behaviour of others. . . the outside play area looked good, but sadly it rained so we could not use this. . . swimming pool was good till again became over ran with despondent teenagers, who were jumping in and splashing everyone, again affected our enjoyment with a 3 year old. again although rules are listed no one is enforcing these rules even though there is supposedly cctv no one was bothered of the behaviour of others. . we came here hoping for a lovely relaxing holiday, with a few perks, sadly we spent most of it policing other peoples children's behaviour, and ensuring our 3 year old wasn't hurt by them and their behaviour.

Great location for walking and taking the dog for a swim. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The caravans are very clean and tidy and exceeded our expectations.
Peter from Bedford (12 October 2015)

What a lovely site we were well pleased with the caravan. Very clean and modern. . the site was clean and everyone we met was friendly. . beautiful scenery and the sun sets were amazing to watch sat on the beech, which was about 200mts from our van. You definatley need a car to travel around though. . swimming pool area was great and clean and a lovely bar and outside seating area . can't fault the place. Great to just chill and relax.
Claire from North Lincolnshire (03 October 2015)

There was no pressure in the hot water boiler but the facilities team very quickly sorted it out. I would have rated 100% but this should have been sorted before my stay and delayed me on my first full day. I do think the facilities and décor are superb and the fact that I could bring my dog was a relief as finding suitable accommodation in such lovely area was quite tricky. I know the area quite well and would fully recommend the park to any one, particularly large families of all ages as there is loads to do in the area. The thing I really love about this part of wales is that it doesn't matter what the weather is doing I can easily do something (snow is another matter though!). wish I hadn't booked my next holiday before I arrived as I would easily keep returning.
Gareth from Warrington (28 September 2015)

We stay here a lot! most beautiful. Surroundings in a beautiful. Setting. Excellent facilities. Some of the staff could be more customer friendly, but on the whole we have no complaints. Always an excellent holiday that never disappoints!
Rachael from Stratford Upon Avon (28 September 2015)

We are an eighty year old couple who came back to sunbeach where we had brought our children many years before. We were most happy with what we found and the hospitality. We received from all your staff.
Beatrice (26 September 2015)

Lovely scenic location and fantastic caravan. Beach too pebbly to walk on but enjoyed the sunsets. "dog walks" were very short but there was also a field for exercise. Don't be fooled by the "boat park" as we were, it's not really a facility, simply a place for caravan owners to store their own craft.
Confirmed Holidaymaker from Cheshire (21 September 2015)

A nice place to stay
Michael from Brisbane (19 September 2015)

Enjoyed are stay will be going back next year, staff where very friendly.
David from Liverpool (17 September 2015)

Stayed here 5th - 12th sep 2015. . lovely, well kept park. a few more rubbish bins wouldn't come amiss, it is quite a walk to the entrance if you are elderly or not too steady on your feet. . the pool looked nice, although it is clearly for young children, which is fine and they have smashing playpark, again for small children. . other reviewers have commented on the lack of goods in the shop and they are not wrong, they shouldn't be advertising that they have a shop when it is clearly not the case, bread, milk and newspapers with a few general goods in the reception area, is letting the side down a bit. . the booking system for the small café/restaurant is a bit bizarre but the food was great. . the park is clearly mostly privately owned vans and I think this helps for a relaxing, quiet break. . if wanting to go into barmouth I would advise to drive to the village and get on the train, otherwise it's a 40 minute drive round the estuary. . the beach is a pebble beach, no chance of bucket and spades but all in all we had a nice week in a lovely location.
Gillian from Halifax (12 September 2015)

Beautiful caravan and location. To make 10/10 a man made beach or even some seating made on the rocks to take in wonderful sunsets. Local towns and beaches only ten minute drive in both directions. Aberdovey a stunning village and beach.
Valerie from York (12 September 2015)

Caravans to close to park my car.
Clive (11 September 2015)

Lovely caravan and surroundings. Restaurant very good. Pool and changing rooms nice and clean. shop needs more choice.
Kerena from Staffordshire (08 September 2015)

Fantastic park, brilliant new facilities, beautiful setting. Can't wait to go back!
Sally from Welshpool (07 September 2015)

Great place with a fantastic location. I would definitely stay again. Brand new caravan and facilities were also brand new. Right on the beach as well!
David from Staffordshire (04 September 2015)

Not enough entertainment and had a very "clicky" atmosphere. People who holiday there are definitely the "outsiders" as the rest all own on there.
Kate (31 August 2015)

An excellent holiday , grandchildren really enjoyed the freedom and facilities. Very quiet considering it was a main holiday week. Others on site were very friendly.
David from Newport, Shropshire (22 August 2015)

Excellent!! caravans were exceptional standard. Lovely and relaxing. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay.
Lee-Cherryll (22 August 2015)

A really nice place, with good quality facilities that are quite now and we'll looked after. The common areas were all really well kept and everything very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Richard from Dudley (17 August 2015)

Lovely park but no local feel to it - it could do with much more local produce including local beer. The new bar area is very spacious and light but the fact that the tv is always on detracts from the . atmosphere and makes conversation difficult. . some of the caravans are also very close to each other.
Sean from Manchester (15 August 2015)

The caravan was really nice although not very well placed.the shop was really disappointing as you are so far away from any other shops it really needs to be better overall it was a good holiday everyone was friendly we would return
David from Kingswinford (08 August 2015)

The location is great with lots to do in the surrounding area. The park is neat and tidy with lots of well-maintained privately owned vans. The staff on the bar were polite and tried to be helpful but the kitchen opening times were chaotic and changeable. We were unable to rely on being able to get food on site, after being told breakfast would be served between 10 and 12 on sunday we arrived hungry at the clubhouse to find there was no breakfast that day. Equally, later in the week, many menu choices were sold out for two consecutive days with little apology. The attitude of the kitchen staff to our request to take chips away with our pizzas was amazingly poor - you would have thought we were asking them to come and cook in our van, rather than just letting us tip a portion of chips in the box with the pizza!. as long as you are happy to self cater or go off site to the lovely village hotel for great food, then this is a great place for a holiday. Don't go expecting to use the club house as your main source of meals, you will be hungry.
Clare from Norfolk (08 August 2015)

Lovely holiday park and fabulous caravan , the best I have ever stayed in!. the park itself is peaceful and quiet. I would stay there again. I think more could be made of the central area in terms of mini supermarket facilities for more convenience otherwise you have to drive into nearest town which is about a 10 minute drive away
Mandy from Wirral (07 August 2015)

Had a wonderful holiday in general. The park has lost its personal touch doesn't seem cosy any more. Have been visiting the park for over 30 years sometimes twice a year, and it seems a bit strange with the changes.
Betty from Birmingham (25 July 2015)

We were charged too much as there was no facilities at all on the site !!!
Customer 149 (11 July 2015)

Had a lovely time, great location and park is lovely, very clean and well maintained. We were on a budget when looking for somewhere to stay due to paying for an overseas trip later in the year so went for something cheap and cheerful. Couldn't be more pleased with what we got, caravan from brand new, spotless and very homely. Would definitely stay again, couldn't fault it.
