If you are looking for complete luxury the lodge we stayed in is not for you, compared to other lodges we have stayed in this one was the most basic. Cabin 3was very close to the car park, with the hot tub also looking onto the car park,so if it's a more private cabin I would recommend further into the estate. There are some very nice walks and cycle routes, however the weather was not kind on our wee trip, there was no dvd player which was a miss especially due to the rain, our oven would not heat up and the kind member of staff who tried to help couldn't get it to work either! crispy lemon chicken needs to be oven cooked!! the takeaway menu is quite expensive, limited but you can have it delivered to your cabin.despite a lot of cobwebs even at lower levels, which could have easily been removed when sweeping or mopping the floors and removed from the low beems over the bathroom sink the cabin was clean enough, despite the view of cabin 1 and cabin 4 directly in front of us and no view of the loch we would return if we could choose the location of our cabin, there are some nice ones on the site,we would also be more prepared as to what to take with us like kitchen roll, tin foil, and a few other kitchen basics.
Li from West Lothian (30 July 2018)

Great location staff were wonderful. Great little touch providing washing liquid pack
Laura from Falkirk (02 July 2018)

Genuinely blew all expectations out the water! lodge was lovely, staff were very helpful and went out of their way with any issues, lots of things to do locally and a very scenic area!. . think the only down point is walls could be doing with a lick of paint there were lots of marks but im not the type to be overly bothered by that
Tom from Glenrothes (22 June 2018)

On arrival whilst booking in on the monday, the staff member could not seem less interested, she was staring out the window instead of engaging with the customer.the lodge was spotlessly clean however the downstairs shower did not work.a lovely big lodge and the hot tub was great.we ordered a meal on our last night from the retreat and it was disgusting, cold, soggy, and not worth anywhere near the £26 cost.we had a puncture whilst there and staff member jacob kindly helped to put the spare tyre on which was much appreciated.overall we thought the lodge was a bit overpriced especially since you cannot check in until after 4pm and check out at 10am.we have been to quite a few lodges and this one was the most expensive.

Generally, the lodges are very good and the location is stunning. Great on site (free) fishing on the loch and enough to do in the surrounding area. Wi-fi much improved since last visit, it's actually ok. Hot tubs are great, gas bbq provided too. Fantastic. . . but.. . the sit down food in the forest retreat cafe is very overpriced, poor qaulity and poorly cooked. Its really not hard to cook burgers and pizza. Hugely disappointed by that. Very handy but extremely expensive on site shop too. You would likely make more money with increased sales if you just lowered you prices. . staff were not that helpful when someone stole my marked designated parking place and the car park was full. Gives me the impression they can only be bothered to do what they have to rather than going the extra mile for their guests. Even when you aren't going to do something you can say you'll look into it at least. It gives the impression you care.

Loved every minute of our stay. Our hot tub faced right onto the lake it was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and it’s not too far from the local village. Have recommended to friends and family and will definitely be back.

We had a great week staying at this beautiful location. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Benjamin from Corby (23 February 2018)

Fantastic complex, friendly staff, we stayed in one of the lodges for the disabled ,the reason for this was that we had 4 dogs with us, and wanted a wet room to wash them down if needed. We didn't need it, decking around lodge and pathways on site are well maintained. the lodge is well layed out and spacious , will recommend to family and friends.

We had a good weekend but was disappointed on sunday 14 january as when we went to go into hot tub the water was cold - we couldn't use hot tub on monday 15 january either - as we were getting ready to leave log cabin someone came to check hot tub we were told that tub had not worked as it needed topped up with water - obviously hot tub had not been checked on the sunday at all - as we said this was very disappointing - the hot tub is what we book the cabin for and really makes our weekend

Stunning location, cabin was lovely but in need of a deep clean a lot of cobwebs in main room . would recommend a cabin with log burner in winter ,ours wasn’t warm enough downstairs . we had a lovely from our cabin and decking area .
Julie from Wigan (29 December 2017)

Enjoyed a fantastic xmas break at strathyre lodges. Real xmas tree located in cabin and homemade decorations to make and hang on the tree, nice touch, helps to keep the kids busy on xmas eve!. weather was poor i.e. Rain, but didn't dampen our time away too much as was plenty to do inside the lodge. Log burner a must to complete the log cabin experience. Logs can be ordered via the tv together with food and anything else that you may require from the main desk. All in all, a wonderful place for xmas break.

Nice cabin. A little cold when we got there but soon warmed up. Some tv channel we not working which was a pitying. When we arrived my husband went to pick up the keys to the cabin front reception as i’m a bit socially awkward by nature but the lady insisted on talking to me and I had to get out of the car in the rain and sit and be talked at for 10 minutes which I did not enjoy. Cabin was near cattle grid which you could hear large vehicles going over in the mornings

We have been to forest holidays at aardgarten argyll and the actual park was fine but very unhappy about situation of our gold cabin which was directly on the road. It meant we had people walking, cycling and driving right past the front of the cabin and so the hot tub and decking was not very private and couldn't really relax. The decking area was so narrow it was really difficult to get the hot tub open and as there was no internet we couldn't view the instructions. In fact there was no cabin folder of info on anything at all. When we stayed before we had a wet room and underfloor heating so was expecting similar. I wouldn't class this as a gold cabin due to it's tired appearance, small decking and location right next to the road.

Recently returned from 4 night in a goldenoak hide away and it was fantastic. I could not fault this property in anyway. Other than if you fancy a bath it takes about an hour to fill it. So stay in the hot tub longer.

Paul from Northumberland (24 July 2017)

A beautiful setting beside the loch with the mountains behind. Nicely spaced apart lodges. . it was very tranquil and lovely watching the bats in the evening swooping across the park and up to our lodge. Laudrette facilites on site were really handy. The staff were very helpful when we asked in detail about things to do in the area and were very knowledgable. They suggested some good walks and scenic driving routes, along with tourist places you might not stop at.
Alison (21 July 2017)

Lovely relaxed week in picturesque surroundings. Ideal for mentally unwinding and getting out int the fresh air. Coming back to your own luxury retreat was great.

Fantastic break away , the lodge was perfect and the staff were very helpful . only problem was no wifi
Lynne from Glasgow (17 July 2017)

We have visited this site for many years and will continue to do so. Great location, facilities and staff. This particular visit was enhanced by the new gas bbq and disadvantaged by the wi-fi not working. Hope that gets fixed shortly. . you will not be disappointed.

Lovely location and helpful friendly staff with a surprising amount of things to do and pleasant small bar area. Only downside were the midges which seemed to be worst down at the car park otherwise a very pleasant time.
Sean (26 June 2017)

The location and golden oak lodge for two people was fantastic . despite the heavy rain for three days we still managed some walking and hired a bike on the one sunny day we had . the lodge was very large , plenty of space , very comfy and lovely hot tub too utilise come rain or shine . the staff were very friendly and helpful .
Elaine from Ashington Northumberland (09 June 2017)

The place was very nice and we enjoyed our stay very much. Hot tubs great. Even the facilities in the cabin was well provided for. Little things like pack to wash dishes was left which was of great help. We were told that no towels will be provided but when we arrived there were loads of towels. We would definitely go there again.
Pravin from Scotland (26 May 2017)

Absolutely amazing !! spotlessly clean and staff are so friendly, pleasant and helpfull
Gavin from Hamilton (15 May 2017)

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay. A real pity the wifi was down all weekend, this made our friday evening a little complicated due to needing access online for personal reasons. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed.
Kirsty from Dunfermline (15 May 2017)

Had great weekend weather was fantastic which helped make good use off hot tub and bbq
Kirsty (08 May 2017)

The lodges are great especially with the hot tubs, the facilities were nearby but as no shops near by, make sure you bring enough provisions as prices on site are expensive. My family and I will use strathyre lodges again as some of our friends recommended this site and their judgement was correct.
Anthony from Cowdenbeath (01 May 2017)

Nice lodge although did not have the wow factor it pitches. Basic equipment in lodge and annoyingly no dvd player. Great view and great location with lots of walking in the area. I would book again but would pay extra for the newer lodges as the one I was in was tired looking.
Alan from Peterhead (28 April 2017)

Great break however hot tub lid was too heavy to open and close as there was very little space on the veranda which spoiled our over all enjoyment
Paul from Stirlingshire (24 April 2017)

Ticked all the boxes for me,,loved the short break,,batteries re-charged..
James from Greenock (14 April 2017)

Brilliant weekend away
Carin from Kelso (03 April 2017)

Loved everything about this place just wish it wasn't so expensive so we could go a few times a year. this is or 5th time going to strathyre and will be back next year. X
Julieann from Greenock (31 March 2017)

Simply awesome place and location.
Robert from Blackpool (31 March 2017)

My fiance and I had an amazing time at the lodges, scenery was beautiful and there was lots to do, the lodge was absolutely spotless and could not have asked for more, the staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay as relaxing and easy as possible! will drfoz be back!
Michaela from Glasgow (27 March 2017)

Very nice lodge. A bit noisy with the wind and rain and quite close to neighbours but would come back and select lodge on waterfront
Patricia from Dundee (20 March 2017)

Fab location . great path to callander. Lodge well equipped and spotless. Brilliant hot tub
John (20 March 2017)

Beautiful lodges. Very clean & amazing surrounding's. the paths up to the lodges doors could be better paved as very mucky & slippy when raining. Also maybe a few more essential kitchen supplies..for example a frying pan and pots. but overall excellent lodge, hot tub amazing & great helpful, friendly staff.
Alisa (06 March 2017)

Really enjoyed my holiday, but not happy with first lodge I was given, it overlooked to car park behind the main reception, no good when wanting to use the hot tub, but after talking to reception manager I was moved to lodge18. much happier with this location.
Gail from Northumberland (03 March 2017)

Fantastic holiday accommodation excellent and staff were brilliant
