There was a lovely girl on reception/the bar and she was very welcoming when we arrived and then later came for a drink! we felt awkward as we were the only ones in there but she couldn't have been more accommodating, lighting the fire for us and everything!

We have just returned from a october half term midweek break and really didnt want to leave ! the location is stunning, the old mill very comforting and served yummy food and we feel really rested despite having 3 under 8yrs old ;o) looe and polperro and fowey are all in close proximity - we would love to return to stonerush sooner rather than later and have recommended to all

The only real downside was that many of the listed lodges on the site map had yet to be built, so it felt a little isolated at times. Although some building work was going on at the time it was very minimal and non disruptive. The area around the lakes is completed, it was just the stream bit where we were that has only 6 lodges on it at the moment. Very peaceful though.

Perfect break want to come back in january...gorgeous place!!!
Stuart (17 October 2014)

A very long and very narrow road to reach the accommodation (which in itself was good). whilst it was october the bistro was not available tues, wed. Or thurs - which was pretty rubbish for a monday to friday stay. This was not made clear in the literature. On that basis we felt we paid too much.
John from Poole (17 October 2014)

Lovely surroundings and nestled away lovely and quiet just what we wanted, although the steps down to the lodge needed a few more stones to meet the wood. We are thinking of coming back hopefully next year with my daughter
Chrissie from Crewkerne (17 October 2014)

A very well presented lodge set in a lovely location, perfect for a relaxing break away. Would definitely stay here again. Although unfortunately the outside hot tub had broken on our week here and was not fixed until we went home, so we were very disappointed with this! at present we are still waiting to here from head office about a refund!

We were there from monday to friday. The restaurant/bar was closed on tuesday and wednesday, so that was my only slight niggle.
Steve from Walsall (10 October 2014)

Lovely location. Although a rather damp 4 days we used the hot tub daily and enjoyed our visits to eden, lost gardens of heligan and the local pub for an excellent lunch. Lovely views from our lakewiew lodge to hills and sheep in the distance.
Virginia from Torquay (10 October 2014)

Amazing
Julie from Sheffield (10 October 2014)

Beautiful setting, very peaceful in october. there is some lovely walking around the site. Although there is an os map in reception, and the staff are very helpful, some basic leaflets showing just the path routes and local landmarks would be brilliant.

Elaine from Hull (29 September 2014)

Great location and beautiful lodge. Few gripes but nothing major. Issue one day with the hot tub - we called reception and were advised a maintenance man would call within 30 mins 1 1/2 hours later I alled again to be told he is doing his rounds and we would simply have to wait. Not what you expect from such a high calibre establishment.
Leanne from Bristol (27 September 2014)

Accommodation / location / food and staff 10 out of 10.only down side is that the lakes and paths around the lakes have been neglected in some places so very few locations to fish from due to it being overgrown which is a shame as I picked this site for fishing and it has so much potential.

The lodge was in a good spot my husband is a fisherman found the staff unhelpful for a start went into look at menu and the one in charge called me nickey then nick from behind my back I am female and called val no one else was there so said to me my husband went in on the second day to tell them the shower was broke she said someone would look at it no one came so it could not be used rest of week. I asked for a direction to the village on a walk and she said she was'nt sure but gave me a rough guide it did'nt help I worked it out myself in the end. For a september date it was abit expensive. But it was a nice accommodation.

Fabulous lodge with a stunning outlook.. very out of the way with no facilities .. ideal if you want piece and quiet
Loraine from Portland (15 September 2014)

Wonderfully located and very peaceful, the perfect getaway from life that we needed. Didn't use the old mill restaurant, but the menu looked like there would be top quality food available.
Ashley from Horsham (15 September 2014)

Amazing, peaceful place to stay. The lodges are beautiful and so are the surroundings.
Jenna from Lichfield (13 September 2014)

Beautiful lodge in a lovely setting - really enjoyed our holiday!
Ben from Bournemouth (13 September 2014)

Lodge was a little 'tired' & needed up-dating. Outside space & hot tub was very good.
Rodney (13 September 2014)

Very good we had a lovely stay
Sharon from Salisbury (12 September 2014)

Good
Brian from Brighton (12 September 2014)

Stone rush lakes was peaceful and quiet. Staff were very friendly on arrival and after that we didn't see anyone at all as that's what we wanted. The lodge its self was clean and to a high standard with the kitchen fitted with all the mod cons and 2 clean and spacious bathrooms.
Daniel from Bournemouth (12 September 2014)

Could do with a small shop selling a few basic foods and daily newspaper.restaurant was very good served lovely food.
Rosemary from Axminster (06 September 2014)

Beatiful location, very quite and peacful and well maintained. Hot tub constantly ready for use - lodge very well equipped, the only thing we missed were maybe lounger chairs for decking for extra comfort but all else very good.
Robert from Hot Tub Constantly Ready For Use - Lodge Very Well (06 September 2014)

A fantastic lodge, will defiantly be booking a holiday again with hoseasons but will be trying the lake district next time. I just hope there lodges are as outstanding as watersedge.thank you for a fantastic time.
Sara from Oxford (06 September 2014)

Beautiful setting. Someone improvement and experience needed in the cafe and restaurant.
Rachel from Melksham (30 August 2014)

Fell in love with this place the minute we got there, looked brand new was very clean, we loved it
Rob from Norfolk (30 August 2014)

Stewart from Maidstone, Kent (29 August 2014)

Perfect place to get away and unwind.
Neil from Taunton (25 August 2014)

The people were friendly and helpful. The mill served good food at a good price.
Joy from Portsmouth (23 August 2014)

First time we have stayed here, will be coming back again..enough said.
Ben from Bridport, Dorset (23 August 2014)

Beautiful location close to several coastal villages and harbours. It was a very quiet location which was ideal as we wanted a very quiet and relaxing holiday. Thoroughly recommended.
Pete from Wigan (23 August 2014)

Quiet location but as little in the way of facilities on site not necessarily ideal for families. Bistro only open a few nights a week - this isn't a huge problem but should be advertised as such.
Judith from Surrey (23 August 2014)

Peaceful, quiet site for a relaxing holiday. No cycling hire on site as the description suggested. Good location for allowing you to explore the area and take day-trips out.
Mark from Colne (16 August 2014)

We travelled 430 miles. A little on site shop with essentials like bread and milk would be ideal. instead we had to jump back into the car and drive another couple of miles to find a shop when we arrived.
Lee from Sunderland (16 August 2014)

Although the lodge and the location was ok ! the actual site and staff were not great ! the lodge wasnt overly clean there was black mould around were the shower had leaked we were asked if everything was ok with the lodge and we informed them the shower head was broken and you had to hold it for entire shower ! and for 7 days nothing was done! but we lived with it ! my biggest compliant was the restraunt and bar was shut 4 nights on the trott and when your on a break its nice to have a meal out and glass of wine and a nice stroll home ! we were told this was down to illness but ther must have been some other option other than to close the whole place for 70% of our stay the only alternative was a 10 mile drive to looe and a 10mile drive back!
Peter from Colchester (16 August 2014)

Disappointed with lodge considering cost.
Sharon from Wolverhampton (15 August 2014)

Lovely accommodation beautiful surroundings but the only two members of staff we spoke to all week we were made to feel like we were being a huge imposition. After the second occasion we decided not to use the site's bistro again and just ate at looe and polperro which are both beautiful fishing villages.
Mark from Torquay (09 August 2014)

Beautiful rural location, a real away from it all. Didn't find the staff over friendly when we did visit the site office. Value for money was ok but then it is always overpriced in august!
Julie from Ashford (09 August 2014)

The lodge it's self was great, the kitchen had pretty much everything you would need. There is patio furniture on the veranda but if you were a family of 6 you would struggle to sitdown at 1 table altogether, however there are enough tables and chairs for everyone. The only thing id say is missing is sun loungers they would be a great addition.
Kirsty (09 August 2014)

A bit more remote than we expected but still a good location, close to looe and polperro, not far to the eden project. The lodge was in a lovely private area, though a bit shady as it was by the stream. We didn't really see anything of the staff other than on arrival as we didn't need to. The old mill seemed lovely but we didn't eat there as our children are pre school and not always on best behaviour!
Clare from Doncaster (09 August 2014)

The lodges where very clean and well looked after. Its just that I was promised a terrace with the sun which I never received. There is no phone reception and only wifi in the restaraunt when open. It also takes ages to get anywhere in cornwall. But some people will love it and some not so. All in all it is a quiet site, but could do with a few bird feeders dotted around to attract the local wildlife.
William (08 August 2014)

We have stayed in many lodges and this has been the best by far!!. the lodge was clean and tidy and our lodge was in a beautiful spot, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The only down side was the weather, stonerush lakes is a place that we will definitely be visiting again.
Tracy from Lydney (02 August 2014)

It was such a private area, just what we wanted.
Tammy from Cambridgeshire (02 August 2014)

Very high quality accomodation.
Julie from Goole (02 August 2014)

We had a lovely time in cornwall. Lovely clean lodge lovely places to visit too. The only negative point we had was the location of the lodge. Although it had really nice surroundings it was very dark as we were surrounded by trees, due to this we never got any sun around the lodge. It would have been nice to enjoy time on the balcony in the sun.
Amanda (02 August 2014)

Great overall. some small things - shower in en-suite of w4 broken. toaster broken. . . the mill was a lovely building, friendly staff however the food needs improvement.
Sarah from Builth Wells (02 August 2014)

We had a fantastic time at stonerush lakes, myself, husband and our 5 year old daughter. The lodge itself was just perfect. ;)
Kylie from Dorset (26 July 2014)

Ideal escape , beautiful surroundings. Home from home cabin very clean and well equipped for a perfect holiday. We didn't want to leave!
Tracy (26 July 2014)

Third visit to the same lodge, what spoilt this year for the first time was there was dog excrement all over the public green areas, and with 2 children ho wanted to play this was disappointing to say the least. There are dog bins there however they are not used. I will visit next year but if it's the same I won't rebook for 2016. Perhaps an enclosed dog excercise area would resolve.
Hywel from Caerleon (26 July 2014)

A wonderful location. The lodge was one of the most spacious and well equipped holiday lodges we have stayed in to date. We loved being right next to the lake. the mill is a lovely place to eat and the food is of a very good standard. we went there a couple of times during our stay. It would have been nice to have a couple of sun loungers on the deck and a map on local walks from the site would have been welcome. other than that it was perfect.
Martin from Uttoxeter (26 July 2014)

Beatiful
Helen from Shropshire (26 July 2014)

Tucked out of the way in a brilliant location. It was the ideal place for a relaxing break.
Chris from Barnsley (25 July 2014)

Forgot how hilly cornwall was and how narrow some of the lanes, but it was great. adrenalin quarry nearby is a must!
Rob from Nottingham (19 July 2014)

Lovely site, very relaxing and peacefull.
Tracey from Norwich (19 July 2014)

Lodge was very comfortable and in a lovely location. A little more care by previous occupants and thorough checking by cleaning staff would have ensured the cutlery and plates, bowls were clean. A summer weight duvet rather than a 13.5tog would have been a lot better - far too hot even with doors left open at night.
Carolyne from Newark (19 July 2014)

We have stayed in several different lodges this is defiantly the best for facilities, comfort and position.
Melvyn from Doncaster (18 July 2014)

Good quality lodge but just too isolated with no actual on-site facilities
Rosemary (12 July 2014)

Whilst we enjoyed our holiday and the facilities were being looked after exceptionally well we were concerned at the amount of construction noise and 1 afternoon there was a lodge playing extremely loud music
Georgina from Mansfield (12 July 2014)

Location was perfect if you want complete peace and quiet (which we did). very scenic and quiet. Our lodge was in a lovely secluded spot over looking the lake. I probably wouldn't recommend it for kids as there is nowhere for them to play. the staff were fine, not the warmest welcome, but did their job. Only good value for money of you get a discount, otherwise a bit over priced.
Jj from Cheshire (05 July 2014)

Had a lovely relaxing holiday. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the food served in the old mill restaurant was delicious! would defiantly recommend, location was also very good lots to see and do. For us it gave us a perfect romantic getaway for our honeymoon.
Kim from Calne (28 June 2014)

Lovely location, great setting, friendly and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. We had a terrific week
Tracey from Worthing (28 June 2014)

Excellent lodge. Disappointed that evening meal was not available every night only selected nights. It was not open on the evening of our wedding anniversary so we had to travel elsewhere
Katie from Sittingbourne (27 June 2014)

To be honest we did not use the bistro, we wanted a quiet hideaway after a day of driving about where we had no mobile signals and we got it here! we were not looking for entertainment etc.
Samantha from Knaphill (21 June 2014)

Beautifull location and lovely log cabin. Safari lodge fantastic just like it says on the tin. Lovely being in the treetops and so private. Will go back next year.
Gillian from Barnsley (21 June 2014)

Stonerush lakes is a wonderful secluded place for peace and quiet. No streetlights, no noise, just the sound of birds singing and the babble of the stream every day.
Kathryn from Cheshire (14 June 2014)

Fantastic base absolutely lovely lodge the kids loved it would have liked the restaurant to have opened more than twice during stay but a really nice holiday will be back next year
Angela (14 June 2014)

Without doubt the the best lodge holiday that we have done. Beautiful lodges in an idyllic setting and very secluded. We will definitely return to stonerush lakes again.
Steven from Brean (13 June 2014)

Very relaxing, beautiful location. No phone signal though
Jayne from Harlow (13 June 2014)

Didn't want to leave, cant wait to go back..simply the best :-)
Anna from Town (07 June 2014)

Lovely park, very peaceful
Tracey (07 June 2014)

Myself and my husband had a fantastic stay here, we will definatly be coming back and recommending it to other people. It was romantic, quiet and tranquil.
Elaine (02 June 2014)

Feeding the fish in the morning and being part of the cornwall country side was some highlights. The lodge was contemporary and a perfect size for a family if four. We had a great time.
Gareth from Horton Heath, Eastleigh (31 May 2014)

Restaurant needs a lot more atmosphere and people who look like they could cope
Alan from Wigan (30 May 2014)

Lovely modern lodge. Friendly & helpful staff at the old mill.
Emma from Worcester (30 May 2014)

One gripe. Please tarmac the site rather than the stones. It was a nightmare to drive over.
Marion (24 May 2014)

Perfect, couldn't fault it, had an amazing time.
Laura from Warminster (23 May 2014)

We had a fantastic stay and the bathrobes were a nice touch, the lodge is well equipped, the only downside is that is no a store on site or the restaurant could offer breakfast. But overall a wonderful gateway, friendlier staff, great location and we will recommend to go there.
Hortensia from Bournemouth (23 May 2014)

We stayed in a watersedge lodge which is set in peaceful surroundings. The lodge itself was well equipped and directly overlooked the lake. The added bonus was the use of a hot tub which was incredibly relaxing. . the staff in reception were very friendly and helpful and we had an excellent meal in the bistro. I would certainly recommend staying here.
Alison from Lincolnshire (23 May 2014)

Couldn't really put anything for facilities as there were none as such on site, but that is what we wanted. if you want peace and quiet in a beautiful place - come here. The restaurant/bar was in a lovely spot right on the lake, and the food was excellent.
Wendy from Somerset (18 May 2014)

Excellent holiday! stayed at many lodges with hot tubs and this is by far the best. Excellent location, lodge beautiful with so many facilities and extras and great hot tub. . restaurant on site serves great food and all staff friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back soon!
Amy from Huddersfield (16 May 2014)

The location was lovely and peaceful. the staff in the bistro were nice and friendly.
Maxine from Woking (16 May 2014)

Brilliant park situated in the lower reaches of a small valley. Lots of greenery and wildlife. Lakes at bottom of valley particularly beautiful. Lodges look good in the surroundings. Little/no lighting throughout the park but I personally see this as a positive - it helped to make everything feel more secluded and disconnected from everyday life! didn't really need to use main reception and didn't use restaurant, however it all looked really nicely done. Staff were not needed apart from during check-in, but were polite and lovely. Overall just a perfect little park.
Ryan from Norwich (16 May 2014)

We were happy that no one bothered us. Staff were friendly enough but only dealt with one person at reception so can't really judge properly. . . we would of liked more time on the last day in the lodge and would of preferred to be able to arrive earlier. This is where we felt that value for money went down hill for us!
Alicia from Birmingham (16 May 2014)

Great place for a quiet and relaxing holiday off-season.
Robert from Netherlands (10 May 2014)

Beautiful location, easy access to local attractions. Very peaceful , great getaway . staff very friendly and helpful, extremely dog friendly. I have marked down the facilities as stonerush is quite remote and the menu at the on-site restaurant is very limited. The local pub (10mins drive) was very good but also extremely busy and local shops (again 10 minutes drive) sell pound stretcher food at premium price.
Debra from Bristol (05 May 2014)

The park is simply perfect peace and quiet. The lodge certainly had a wow factor, everything about it was first class. The staff were marvellous when we had an unknown family crisis, they could not have been more helpful.
Maureen from Portland (02 May 2014)

Absolutely loved every second of it and will be back again in the future.
Rebecca from Nottingham (02 May 2014)

Absolutely fantastic place. Very quiet and relaxing. We had a waters edge lodge and the view over the water was stunning.
Customer 142 from Leicester (26 April 2014)

Loved the quiet beautiful location and specification of our waterside lodge. Will be back for more.
Lorna from New Ash Green, Kent (26 April 2014)

It was a perfect and fantastic place
Ramin (21 April 2014)

Fantastic location, quiet and just right for a relaxing break. Staff very helpful and friendly. Will definately visit again
Stephen from Plymouth (21 April 2014)

Absolutely loved our weekend there. The hot tub was amazing and would recommend a visit there to anyone.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (21 April 2014)

Loved it, complete relaxation, just what was needed. Thankyou
Nicola from West Midlands (21 April 2014)

A fabulous setting, everything perfect. Thank you.
Sharon (21 April 2014)

2nd time we have stayed at stonerush rush lakes and it was fantastic, loved everything about it. Will def be going back!
Richard from Exeter (18 April 2014)

Fantastic standard of accommodation but not ideal for children as no play ground or similar facilities. With a toddler be aware of semi open verandah edges.
Joanna from Bristol (18 April 2014)
