I am wrong person to be reviewing as I only lasted one night out of four then came home
Elaine from Newcastle Upon Tyne (07 September 2018)

Chalet was dropping to bits ,heater hanging off the wall in kitchen. outside light hanging off wall, . table leg loose and wobbly pots chipped and internet was a joke not even working one night we will not be returning and when we went to the reception to get things sorted they were to busy some one had got locked out of their car.
Carol from Grantham (07 September 2018)

Fantastic holiday excellent caravan although it was basically a base so my wife and I could explore the lakes and the solway including the south west coast of scotland. Silloth is a really nice quiet place the holiday park was very relaxed and laid back the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay again.
David from Sheffield (07 September 2018)

Sadly on arrival toaster and main cooker not working, quilts and pillows very flat and old ( all need replacing ) found goggles sheets drawings & melted chocolate between seating cushion areas clearly van had not cleaned proper before our arrival, rubbish around site more could be done for the appearance of the grounds looks ok on driving in but further into grounds very untidy
Booth from St. Helens (07 September 2018)

It's ideal for a chilled break. The entertainment staff were fab but the rest were not very helpful. The chalet was nice enough a helpful touch would be hooks or a towel rail. Plenty of things for kids.
Victoria from Derby (06 September 2018)

Really lovely break here, caravans were lovely and as requested near facility and two together, can't fault them, clean and looked after. Didn't eat in restaurant but had takeaway which was fine, had a very nice meal at the golf club.
Kirsty (03 September 2018)

Great holiday, lodge was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful, facilities on the park were good, shop, bar and food were reasonably priced, good time was had by all and would holiday in this park again.
Anon from Scotland (03 September 2018)

We walked into our accomodation and were instantly underwhelmed. Holes in the sofa, broken curtain rails held up by shard of plastic. Matresses you could feel the springs through, had to sleep on quilt covers to make it bit more comfortable. Dated interior. Luckily we'd always just intended to use it as a base for exploring lake district and local area which we were able to do. It is actually quite a shame as it is set in a lovely area (excluding the power plant, this has no impact on actual holiday) and has a lot of potential if it were better looked after. It was unnecessarily tired and unloved. A lick of paint, better furnishings and it'd be so much better.
Victoria from Newcastle (03 September 2018)

We stayed in a 3-bed chalet and it was spacious, neat and tidy. Solway is a beautiful place to stay. Can't wait to go back. . . didn't like the kids entertainment. It was preceded and succeeded by sales and cash bingo and that to me appeared like a money making tactic. Kids deserve a full hour entertainment.
Muruganandh (03 September 2018)

Nice lodge . the site needs some updating and decorating indoor pool restricted to 45 min not good with kids they want to be in it all day
Mark from Doncaster (03 September 2018)

We really enjoyed our short family break and will definitely visit again. The only thing I would say is that the chalet’s with hot tubs need some tlc as they are a little dated but it’s not a big deal. Myself and the family were very happy with the facilities and staff.
Dhawal from Manchester (03 September 2018)

Very friendly staff great place to stay loved the area
Paul from Bingham (03 September 2018)

Stayed two nights chalet didn’t have jacuzzi nice area pleasant staff one family ruined the stay by accussing us of knicking there child’s toy that we had bought the night before for my daughter but staff helped carm the situation professionally . if a visit again will stay the week plenty for family and kids to do on site.
Andrew from Leyland (02 September 2018)

Can see why people leave the reviews as it needs updating wasn’t the worst place we have been but was ok didn’t like the way you have to book to go swimming and only 2 cublicles for getting changed in staff were ok food was alright nothing great was average. Personally wouldn’t go back but kids still had a good time and the hot tub was really good!
Karrie (31 August 2018)

Chalet clean basic things there needs a bit of tlc to it. Entertainment bit of let down fine for younger children but not really 4 15yrs old. Enjoyed are stay lovely places to visit.
Pamela from Liverpool (31 August 2018)

Caravan was lovely and newish but a shame previous occupants had sometime over the months marked and stained the sofa. The farm had no animals. Entertainment bar harvey's had no beer has pump was broken and only had lager and other drinks available. Staff were fine but I would not be returning to this park in the future.
Stephen from Knottingley (31 August 2018)

Awful lodge smelly dirty . furniture needs renewal
Cheryl from Merseyside (31 August 2018)

Fantastic environment, very friendly staff and village.
David from Durham (27 August 2018)

We stayed august bank holiday 2018, . the chalet was clean tidy and comfy enough for a weekend break . the site was well kept and clean . . perfect location for touring the area or just a quiet break . the town had enough to not have to venture far.
Angela from Staffs (27 August 2018)

Was a nice place to stay but a little tired and in need of some tlc and felt it was expensive for what we got accommodation wise. the shower didn't work properly we had to lower the head into the bath to get it going!! on the plus side the site was extremely dog friendly the walks along the promenade were lovely and there is a great dog friendly beach which is on the other side of town, past the docks to the golf club and keep going along the track.
Sarah from Melton Mowbray (27 August 2018)

We got there for 4pm, as that’s when the lodge was supposed to be ready, but it wasn’t. We finally got our keys at 4.45pm, which was great with 2 small children waiting in the car. Would have got them out but kept being told to come back in 15 mins. Went to the restaurant and was greeted by bar staff with an attitude of not wanting to be there let alone serve us. Just rude really. Then we paid upwards of £9 a meal for microwaved, poor quality food. The kids soft play area smelled of urine and there were more crisps than balls in the ball pool! regarding the lodge that we stayed in, it was nice enough and clean. The bathroom needs a serious update into the 21st century though, very old fashioned. The location itself in silloth is nice and we had a lovely meal at a pub in abbeytown.
Karen (27 August 2018)

Caravans weren't clearly signed and gave seen better days. Although soloway is nice it's a bit out of the way from places where you can grab something to eat. Although they do food in site we were put off by the burnt pizza that we ordered. The bar manager probably could do with a course on customer service and improving management skills as the way she spoke to some of bat staff i'm surprised she still has people working for her.
Yvonne from Manchester (27 August 2018)

Me and my family have been coming to solway for the past 6 year and we absolutely love it. There’s plenty to do for the kids and we always have a fab time staying in the caravan. A big shout out to aaron and alison (the entertainment team) these are the reason we keep returning they do such a fantastic job entertaining the kids and they are so friendly and welcoming with adults aswell. Please keep up the fab job we will certainly be returning very soon!!!
Nicola from Peterlee (27 August 2018)

Was worried at first with the bad reviews, but nothing to worry about at all. we stayed in a caravan orlando gold 3 with a crawling baby, and it was absolutely fine. swimming pool was great too. Quite resort but keswick not far away, but we like peace and quiet.
Catherine from Clitheroe (27 August 2018)

Needs bringing into the 21st century, felt like we had gone back in time! the swimming pool changing rooms where tatty and needs more than 2 cubicle, and 2 showers, especially when everyone has to get out after 45 mins. The kids club was fantastic the entertainment was very good. The food in the bar was ok nothing special. Over all we had a lovely week but would try somewhere different next time
Dawn from Wigan (24 August 2018)

Booking in was 4pm. Did not get our key till 5.15pm. The place is dated and needs upgrading.
Ann from Manchester (24 August 2018)

We have a good tume :))
Karina (24 August 2018)

The chalets and the whole site is a little dated and needs some tlc. However then it wouldn’t of been such a bargain if it had. We had a chalet with a hot tub and although basic and beds not very comfy it was a great price and clean. So we were more than happy. Swimming pool busy so time slots are limited, but was a rainy week so everyone was using. The evening entertainment was really funny and the younger kids there all seemed to love it. Surrounding area is really nice. Staff friendly. You get what you pay for and we were ok with that.
Danielle from Cheshire (24 August 2018)

Staff barely present and then rude when asked to do the one thing we asked them to do which was take our key from our hand when we took it to reception. The beds have lumpy mattresses. During our time our son had to sleep on sofa cushions on the floor as the bed was too lumpy and we left a day early due to not being able to put up with the mattress on the double bed any longer. The shower facilities in the pool was inadequate. 2 showers and 2 changing cubicle for all. Not enough. Kids activities too expensive for what they are. All the entertainment is bingo. I don’t go on holiday to play bingo.
Victoria from Stoke (24 August 2018)

We had an amazing time with our children! the lodge was spacious and clean with everything that we needed for our stay. The hot tub was amazing and a great addition to our stay. . we could not get wifi in our lodge as the equipment had not been fitted but there was free wifi in the public areas. . the pool needed booking except on the monday and friday, but all you have to do is be organised! . evening entertainment for the younger ones was fun and upbeat. . day activities, there are free ones available and we made good use of those.
Julia from Newcastle (24 August 2018)

We had a great stay, our lodge was ideally located & spacious. Unfortunately it had a terrible damp smell throughout our stay. We advised reception staff of a badly broken bed which we noticed when my son was hiding underneath,we at first thought it was just creaky. Facilities were great in the complex etc.
Heidi from Penrith (24 August 2018)

Great facilities and staff location is great as you head north you are in scotland and head back south through the lake district so plenty of off site adventure to be had.
Kevin from Peterlee (24 August 2018)

Lovely place, just what we expected, kids loved it,would go again
Michael (20 August 2018)

Needs some refurb but overall good value for money
David from Leeds (20 August 2018)

Kids injoyed beach and park
Sudhir from Rochdale (20 August 2018)

Very basic very tired holiday park food substandard
Lyn from Preston (20 August 2018)

Awful experience rude staff site rundown
Stephen (20 August 2018)

Good holiday plenty for my boy to do
Arthur from Beith (17 August 2018)

Awful stay. What a waste of money. The state of the caravan was below an acceptable standard and the beds were so uncomfortable. Too far out from the lakes
Confirmed Holidaymaker (17 August 2018)

Excellent holiday with 4 adults and 2 kids. The staff were very good and nothing was too much trouble. The facility was a bit dated and could do with an overhaul. But overall very enjoyable.
Ian from Milngavie (17 August 2018)

Place was not the cleanest beds where awful to sleep on springs everywhere very old. 7 months pregnant had to sleep on an uncomfy couch! not much to do in the surrounding area. Paid over £100 a night and it was not worth this amount. Would not reccomend and would not go back!!!!
Victoria (17 August 2018)

Fantastic
Leizl (13 August 2018)

Great little site, dont understand the bad reviews? went for cheapest caravan and it was lovely!
Emma from Edinburgh (13 August 2018)

Pool needs up dating. Silloth was a lovely walk away. Food was good, well priced. Caravan was nice. Staff were nice. Will be coming back
Jodie from Kirkham (13 August 2018)

Very dissatisfied , pictures on website didn’t reflect what accommodation was really like. False representation. Chalet smelt , very dated, outside of chalet in disrepair, shower pump broke, definitely not worth price we paid for the weeks stay.
Michael from Castleford (13 August 2018)

The holiday park was well laid out but facilities where very dirty and the swimming pool and changing rooms had mold. The onsite pub was dirty and the toilets unsanitary to the point I refused to allow my daughter to use them. The staff had little interest in helping visitors.
Josh from Wakefield (13 August 2018)

Nice break will be booking again
Andrew from Washington (11 August 2018)

Good location for all the northern lakes and hadrian's wall. Caravan clean and swimming pool good. Takeaway meals had problems in length of time to be served as not separate from main meals.bar staff were good but had to deal with upset customers waiting for long time for takeaways and also eating in restaurant.
John from Eastbourne (11 August 2018)

Lots to keep younger children entertained but my children are 10 and 15 so they were a bit bored. Overall a lovely place woyld recommend to people with younger children.
Zeta from Flintshire (11 August 2018)

Very very disappointed with this holiday and I am still, after 2 weeks , waiting to hear back from the site manager mark regarding a complaint. The chalet itself was lovely but the site itself was a disgrace. We waited over 2 1/2 hours for our food one evening at the nags head and when it eventually arrived after been constantly lied to by the staff that it was on its way it was cold and frankly a joke for the price paid for it, it was rare to be able to get a booking at the swimming pool and a lot of the facilities you advertised when I booked the holiday were closed. The machines in the arcade took money but failed to work most of the time, we lost at least £30 in them, the staff helped where they could but most of the time you couldn’t find one or the queue in the reception was massive! the shop on site was ridiculous, it had barely anything in so we had to venture into silloth just for something as simple as milk or bread. The queue at the bar on a night was just silly, it could take around 20-30 minutes just to get a drink and when kids went for one they were completely ignored. I would never book here again or recommend this site to anyone
Jenny from Bradford (11 August 2018)

Lovely site. Geared very much for children and all activities well run. . it was let down by being in need of a good clean (in the bars and toilets). not checked enough and diluted hand wash not acceptable. Staff were friendly enough but under pressure with limited staff. On one occasion we were waiting for 2 hrs for evening meal and we had to ask for refund as two under 5’s couldn’t wait
Carol from Wakefield (10 August 2018)

The good: the staff were all friendly, the entertainment we felt was great and the staff worked incredibly hard. Silloth is lovely- visit the fairydust emporium id you have children or dogs. Ideally placed to get to the western lakes. . the bad: the caravan was appallingly unclean- socks left under bed, a drink of coke in the bedroom, it stank of dog, the dishes were all unclean, the table was sticky. The sofa had strange stains on. . I nearly cried. We have dogs but would never expect such shoddy accommodation. Every time we were in the van I had every window and the door open to air the van. We 100% left it much cleaner than when we arrived! the table only had 2 stools despite there being 5 of us and the beds were horrendous, springs hanging on for dear life with the mattress but about to pop through. . . never again. It’s such a shame.
Kimberley from Uk (10 August 2018)

We all enjoyed our stay.
Angela from Glasgow (10 August 2018)

> great location and easily accessible. > chalet was clean, tidy and comfortable. > park appears tired and dated. > not all chalets had dedicated parking and sometimes a challenge to find a spot near the chalet.
Paul from Peterborough (06 August 2018)

Accommodation was basic. The park had everything that you need. The location was a bit out of the way, we had to drive everywhere as we have small children.
Karen from Elloughton (06 August 2018)

Great location. caravan clean and adequate, though mattresses could do with replacing. grandchildren used the pool, zorbing, football on all-weather pitch and playground area. the nags head was great. wonderful food and friendly staff. holiday spoiled by noisey neighbours, occupying three caravans, partying until after two, two nights running. just our bad luck.
Mary from Warrington (06 August 2018)

It was ok, the chalet was roomy and fab but dirty, the cooker didn’t work properly. Dirt and crumbs in drawers in the kitchen.the park itself is so run down and yet has so much potential. The beach isn’t a beach the kids can play on as the tide only goes out a tiny bit and there’s hardly any sand.
Louise from Manchester (06 August 2018)

Poor park run down needing maintained and all decorated shop not tidy night entertainment pathetic
Khalid (06 August 2018)

The place needs updating and some of the caravans need putting in a nicer location mine was right next to the bins which wasn’t very nice
Kim from Liverpool (06 August 2018)

Lovely holiday park , plenty to do for the kids , a few minuses no cash point on site you had to spend £5 or more to get cash back and was limited to £30, you couldn’t get cigarettes on site had too go into town , very limited to what you could buy onsite shop. caravan was well equipped and comfortable, I would go back again .
Warren from Norwich (04 August 2018)

Would not come back.place is like a retirement camp.
Pamela (03 August 2018)

The chalet was damp. We visited the bar area twice. There wasn’t enough staff. The tables weren’t cleaned, people were complaining that they had to wait too long for food.
Sarah from Manchester (03 August 2018)

Accommodation is totally outdated and requiring refurbishment. Carpets and bed in particular. Location (silloth) has very little to offer. Staff appear to have no guidance or enthusiasm.
Carole from Cramlington (03 August 2018)

In a word rubbish, didn’t get keys for caravan till 4-15 supposed to be gold, very basic, swimming pool changing rooms a discrace, showers falling off the wall, 2 showers 1 hot if you kept hand on button ,other just cold water, nerf guns, create a bear, just a rip off for the money, the inflateable ball kids get in and walk around on the water in swimming pool. £5 for 5minutes exactly, kids entertainment upstairs in harley’s microphones turned up to loud kids covering their ears, all geared up to selling the flashing light sabres, microphones, and guns the kids love, advertising internet, yes if you pay for it, overall rubbish would not recommend this place
Colin from Southampton (03 August 2018)

We stayed in a lodge with a hot tub, was clean, tidy and spacious. Lots of things for the kids to do but these are all bookable but cheap to do this. . family entertainment is small scale compared to larger sites but I preferred this! free tennis courts good. Free swimming pool, small but still good! little local villlage was nice. Beach nearby 20 min walk on the promenade. We took day trips to whitehaven and carlisle which were great. . there isn’t loads to do on the site but it’s clean and tidy , kids can be entertained. These are priced accordingly to reflect this. We were an extended family of 9 people staying in 2 lodge’s and it cost less than £900 for 4 nights!!!
Emily from Huddersfield (03 August 2018)

Nothing matched the pictures on website . all very dated
Judith from Newcastle On Tyne (03 August 2018)

There wasn't much on site activities or entertainment
James from Liverpool (03 August 2018)

You get what you pay for. got a cheap deal for a chalet for 4 nights. holes in the external walls, bathroom grubby, fridge door shelf broken, oven grubby. however having read other reviews I knew to expect it not to be brilliant accommodation for the price. however the staff are all lovely especially the entertainment crew and a holiday is what you make it. lots to see and do in nearby towns as well.
Amanda from Falkirk (03 August 2018)

Staff were quite miserable and not friendly. Eating areas were always dirty and food all over floors tables etc on the positive the accommodation was big and clean although needs updating.
Paul (30 July 2018)

The park and surroundings were overall very good. However the accommodation was very poor with numerous faults on appliances and broken furniture etc. Beds very poor. Springs were stuck up through childrens mattresses.
Karen from Leeds (30 July 2018)

Absolutely awful got a luxury cabin and hot tub, bed was broken when we turned up but someone had made it up broken, one mattress was to big for one of the other beds, hot tub was not working for first two days!! would not recommend at all surroundings were really run down and lodge was far from luxurious.
Traice from Halstead (30 July 2018)

Park and accommodation needs updating and could be a lot cleaner.
Stewart from Troon (30 July 2018)

Nothing like as described on website. It is a rundown and neglected holiday village.
Maxine from Durham (30 July 2018)

The only negative we have is the general upkeep and tidyness of the site. Things just not finished off weeds growing around children's play area it looked scruffy in a lot of places. Great caravan very clean kids loved it.
Barry from Chorley (30 July 2018)

Very disappointed! paid for a silver caravan costing just under 600 pound! arm on couch was torn n not repaired chip out of wood work where tele was! fridge freezer did not work properly despite being reported twice had to throw large amounts of food away that I was unable to use, when reported staff did not offer any compensation for loss of food or appeared to see any great importance in it! one wine glass in caravan ? frying pan bent and did not sit on cooker so unable to use it, cutlery cups etc not particularly clean! facilities very limiting only things free was swimming pool and indoor and our door play area not a lot for a week's holiday other activities were available if willing to pay anything from 4 pound to 15 for very basic activities we paid for one not worth the money! the only positives of this holiday was the location of being near siloth n the restutant food and service was fair.
Claire from Durham (30 July 2018)

When I take my children to a holiday park I expect the kids clubs to run through the day for them at no extra cost. Solway holiday village is clearly all about how much money they can get out of you through the kids. £3 for kids bingo twice a night with 2 kids is £12 for kids bloody bingo. I tried to book on the free kifs clubs but day 1 was cancelled and day 2 was full.
Karla from Ashton Under Lyne (30 July 2018)

The lodge and hot tub was ok but the site itself was quite grubby the seagulls were ripping the bins up cause they were overflowing. The staff were all quite dewar faced and felt like they couldn’t be bothered. The food in the restraunt was disgusting and didn’t get served as advertised and the chef was miserable. The soft play area had a horrible smell and it was tapped up from rips but the tape was coming off. Half of the machines in the arcade were not working and turned off. Also the night time entertainment was not wheelchair accessible and my husband actullly witnessed a couple have to take there son out of his wheelchair and carry him up the stair to the entertainment. I would not recommend or go back and i’m quite disappointed as this was our first family holiday with our son also there was no merchandise shop to buy like soft toys or anything will not book through this way again.
Siobahn from Perth (30 July 2018)

The site and facilities were extremely dated. our chalet's layout, the buttermere, was inconvenient for our guests since we all had to go through each other's bedroom to get about. never once was this information made available otherwise we would never have booked. would not be recommending this holiday to anyone else nor will we be revisiting.
Kay (28 July 2018)

Solway holiday village is in a stunning location and the staff, particularly wendy and andy in the nags head are all very helpful. Unfortunately the kettle we had was a bit tempremental but this didn't spoil our holiday and I would happily go back (despite the 3 hour journey time from home)
Lesley from Leeds (28 July 2018)

The silver lodge we had was was described as comfortable, basic would be a far more accurate description. Accommodation very substandard: ripped couch, nowhere to hang towels, inadequate clothes storage and very poorly equipped kitchen. Beds very uncomfy but location is lovely and maintenance staff were great when they came to fix the shower that was scalding us when in use. Being able only to book 45 minute sessions for the pool was also disappointing and restaurant service incredibly slow (1 hour for main course of fish and chips!)
Claire from Perth (28 July 2018)

Sorry guys your holiday village is very tired. Only one cash register in your main eating facility for ordering food or drinks causing slow moving queue. Poolside is pretty clean but changing rooms are sub standard seperate male and female changing rooms. In male changing room only two large rooms with doors that accommodate room for half a dozen peeps in each these doors didn’t fit thier frames and could not lock also large communal changing area. Not suitable for my boys who were quite self conscious. Therefore only one visit to pool over our 7 day visit. Covered area in centre of complex had a large inflatable ship for the kids to play on. This area appears to be the smoking area not really appropriate when kids are present. Very tired and dirty again only visited this part once. Seagulls are active 24/7 screeching and pooing everywhere, we were sited next to complex buildings where they perched and swooped around your head when out walking dog. Kids playground was good and all weather football area looked good. Our caravan itself couldn’t be faulted only let down was that pots and pans were rusty and couldn’t be used. Silloth itself is a terrific place and was used as a base. Allonby beach was a 15 minute drive down the coast and well worth visiting.
Graeme from Glasgow (28 July 2018)

Not enough for teenagers
Customer 82 (28 July 2018)

Good and relaxing
Abid from Manchester (27 July 2018)

Nice place. Main entertainment area could use some updating and cleaning. But our caravan was clean, tidy and updated. Suggest more entertainment selections for teens.
Uakea from Solway Holiday Village (27 July 2018)

This was ok
Evelyn from Edinburgh (27 July 2018)

Lovely site friendly staff. Very clean.
Amanda from Blackpool (26 July 2018)

Very good customer service, clean and well kept living areas. Could work on modernising public areas and swimming pool. Nice location and great value for the money.
Jozefa (23 July 2018)

We had a great time, we did not want to leave. The kids took part in all the activities and made lots of friends. All the staff were amazing, so friendly, hope to be back soon!!!
Eleanor from Darvel, Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire (23 July 2018)

We went on a late deal so never paid a lot of money, very basic
Alan (23 July 2018)

Good holiday
Gary (23 July 2018)

Great, kids loved it. Only complaint is extremely slow staff and waited almost 2 hours for pizzas, staff very moody when we were asking where they were!! will be back though!
Tracey from Gateshead (22 July 2018)

A great holiday park for families and older people, food was good and we had lovely weather so that was a bonus, only downfall is the stairs as I am 70 so needed to take a break to climb the stairs, overall a wonderful holiday park.
Mary from Livingston Scotland (20 July 2018)

Had a fantastic holiday everything we needed was there.
Laura from Fife (20 July 2018)

Was not impressed with staff in bar would not give change to use in amusements. Lots of stuff not working and broken very poor indeed!
Lynsey (20 July 2018)

Great park but not much for infants although there are now putting resources into to. need to update park for infants.
Liam from East Kilbride (20 July 2018)

Very basic and not very clean chalet but good size! staff very friendly and helpful!
Carol (20 July 2018)

We would book again for silloth loved it nice relaxing place to stay staff so helpful and friendly
Norma from Chopwell (20 July 2018)

Really good deal for my son and i. Our first ever holiday since he was diagnosed as disabled. And he loved every minute of it. Would definitely book again with same deal.
Linzi from Edinburgh (20 July 2018)

The park was in a poor state of repair
Neil from Leicester (20 July 2018)

Lovely park, lots for kids to do.
Elaine from Hawick (20 July 2018)

Great holiday for the price!!! despite the negative reviews about the chalet ours was spotless, spacious and the hot tub was amazing. Very nice and helpful staff. We had a problem with our water tank which would heat not heat and we got the problem fixed promptly
Lisa from Lanarkshire (19 July 2018)

Some of the areas could do with updating and tidy up
Derek from Edinburgh (16 July 2018)

Poor. Dated. had to pay a lot for kids activities. £15 to make a teddy. When child couldn't make one of sessions you didn't get a refund. Asked if we could borrow a dvd player for kids as we assumed gold accomadation would have one and it didn't. but staff not interested in helping out.
Suzanne from Glasgow (16 July 2018)

It was a very nice place and the staff were very friendly and helpful would love to go back and would recommend it to family and friends
Alison from Ayrshire Scotland (16 July 2018)

Can't believe what we got for the price we paid. Amazing weekend for ev1.
Joanne from Newcastle (16 July 2018)

The place needs a revamp accomodation was disgrace but clean they need a lift to venues for disabled people who also like to see shows or granchildren enjoy them selves we had passes but could not use them because of disabilitys very dissapointing
Jacky (16 July 2018)

Loved it.
James from Glasgow (16 July 2018)

We had lodge 63 which was lovely. Clean and much bigger than I thought it would be. The furniture may be a little dated but in the bedrooms but it would not put us of booking again. The hot tub was fab! the staff are lovely. There are only 2 changing cubicles in the ladies at the swimming pool but lots of space. I had a 4 and a 6 year old with me and it was very relaxing. Silloth is a 10 minute walk. There is a free splash park and a fairy garden hunt (also free). we will definitely be back.
Tracy (16 July 2018)

Very dated, chalet was tired, and grubby. we came home a day earlier than we should have. Wasn't worth the money and we definitely won't be back.
Alison (16 July 2018)

Great cheap last minute getaway. Will go again sometime in future
Terri from Lancaster (15 July 2018)

We enjoyed the holiday park. Caravan was nice and had everything we needed. Pool was clean and warm although younger members of family would have liked shoot or more facilities. No pitch and put as advertised. Staff were helpful and friendly. Entertainment was good. The area in general was too quiet for us though and didn't like beaches, shingle/stones rather than sand
Fiona from Kilmarnock (14 July 2018)

Last minute holiday. . caravan clean and comfortable. . staff in the bar and entertainment center helpful. . certain areas in park a bit tired and needing upgrading. . excellent facilities. . would return for sure.
Julie from Falkirk (13 July 2018)

Great value for money
Kathleen (13 July 2018)

This park looks as if it is running down ready for closing. Children's facilities were next to non existing. Bouncy castle closed at about. 6.00pm. The other room was non existantetmno as my grandchildren. Could not go as I am disabled . and cannot climb stairs.
Winnie from Stirling (13 July 2018)

We had a great time with our grandkids plenty to do loved the swimming pool on site
Sandra from Hamilton (13 July 2018)

It was a lovely break away. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves just needs a little updating in club house etc
Charlotte (12 July 2018)

Had a terrible experience as was loud in the late evenings to early mornings every night so lack of sleep , run down area and untidy . wasn’t the holiday we expected to be honest
Lee from Darwen (09 July 2018)

Although everything in the chalet was spotless and clean I think a little tlc is needed. tiles coming off walls, toilet seat not attached properly, the sofa had rips everywhere. external care of property also needs extra attention - it wasn’t pleasant wheeling a wheelchair up a ramp covered with tea bags and egg shells ??!!
Nicola from Burnley (09 July 2018)

Only complaint is how slow the bar staff are, but by reading previous reviews this is on going. Apart from that I couldn’t fault it
Stephen from Stafford (09 July 2018)

Great place great holiday
Ian (06 July 2018)

Brilliant holiday. Loved the site and location. Loads to do. Enjoyed swimming .n good value on meals. Definitely be back
Jacqueline from Durham (06 July 2018)

Loved the place and will definitely going back highly recommend it
Kelly (06 July 2018)

Absolutely beautiful spot if you love quiet coastal towns. You can see dumfries across the water and it’s about an hours drive to gretna where there’s an outlet village. Caravan was lovely too. Very spacious.
Vicky from Halifax (06 July 2018)

Excellent facilities and staff for a caravan park - we stayed in one of the lodges and asked if a step could be put in and one of the z-beds (that we were not using) to be fixed which was done within a couple of hours - great pool and kids disco/ entertainment every night - kids loved it! west beach a very short drive (drive as if going to port and keep going past nursing home) and great natural large beach for lots of play (rest of beaches are largely stones/ shingles. overall we had a ball - couple of days was enough for us but could warrant up to a 5 day break I would say.
Lynne from Strathaven (06 July 2018)

Reasonable prices and the weather helped too as it was glorious
John from Leeds (06 July 2018)

We’ve just returned from a lovely break at solway holiday village ~ so good that we have booked to return in august. The staff couldn’t be faulted for their impeccable customer service 10/10 all round :)
Lesley from Jarrow (06 July 2018)

Fab time at solwat village
Pamela (06 July 2018)

One of the best peaceful locations we have been to.
Sandra from Rosyth (06 July 2018)

A very pleasant and enjoyable stay
Debbie from Staffordshire (05 July 2018)

The surrounding areas are nice although there are no supermarkets nearby and we hadnt brought any food therefore spent a fortune. there is water but no beach which is a shame. We were lucky to have the weather making it a great experience.
William (02 July 2018)

Locate was nice just same about the rudeness off the staff and cleanliness but staff was very rude and not helpful at all
Sinead (02 July 2018)

Not bad
Chantella from Belper (02 July 2018)

Lovely place chalet just needed a bit of updating but other than that perfect
Linda from Blackrod Bolton (02 July 2018)

The weather was lovely. Lodge was ok. Hot tub was amazing. Plenty to do on the park for children. It does seem that the park needs a huge cash injection. The staff are really left to their own devices with no clear cut management in control. You had wendy (i think was a manager) she needs some customer service training as well as some staff management training. The way she is speaking to the staff is appalling. Having personally worked in hospitality I have never come across staff being spoken to this way, or customers to that matter. Rob also seemed to have this manner with staff. Richard and andy went out of their way and were absolutely fabulous. I think you need to look after the staff that look after your customers. Because at the end of the day they pay the wages. With out richard and andy this review would be much worse. . there needs to be a better system of how you use and manage the staff. The entertainment crew need to be in charge of entertainment not back and forth to the desk for booking, surely the receptionists, who actually seem to do not much of anything, can book entertainment and the train. Seeing as it's only written on a piece of paper anyway. It was an inconvenience to go back and forth to look for the entertainment team, or to be told "she could be in the kids club, go look in there" I appreciate that they may be on minimum wage and couldn't be that bothered about the customers that pay their wages. However some enthusiasm and some politeness wouldn't go a miss.the girl that did the entertainment was lovely, think she needs to be left to focus on that and the children rather than go back and forth to ffaff with paper work. Like I say andy and richard really did make our holiday. They were very informative, helpful, polite and genuine nice people who made our stay enjoyable. It's very lucky that the park attracts nice people to stay there. Many people we spoke to agree that the service was shambolic. I have never come across such a random system as they have on the bar. 2 people serving one person and a que not even at the bar. I have never in my life had to que that way to be served, especially one tilling and one pouring. I appreciate you have one till. But I have worked places with one till and have served 5 people in the time they served one, including food. If anything it lets the customers see the cracks even more while standing in a que for 40 miutes. Fair enough if they have new tills, which they have been telling everyone. According to the reviews they have been in place for over a month, surely they would grasp it by now, seeing as they seem to do split shifts or back to back shifts. . . breakfast.. wow.. we could have walked out and got away with it. Twice we had to ask for the bill. Thin blonde haired girl on breakfast was trying her best bless her, but she was chasing people taking food to the wrong table. Seriously breakfast was shocking. Quality of food overall is rubish. I would definitely recommend cooking yourself than wasting money on food you have to wait forever to order and receive. . overall enjoyable stay because of the people we met. We will not be returning, unless there is a miraculous change in some staff and quality of the park. Also found it highly inappropriate that the train driver was topless. Regardless of the heat. Carrying children topless was a bit random in my opinion. Fair enough doing maintenance in the heat topless, but driving the train. No. . . shop and reception close at 6. Not much to offer at the shop and overpriced. The girl at the shop wasn't allowed a break. That's illegal, seeing as you have to take half and hour break from their wages over 6 hour shift. I think higher management really need to look at this park and give the staff the right tools they need to run it properly. It really could be a goldmine. Shame really.
Emma from Caernarfon (02 July 2018)

We didn’t use a lot of facilities, but what we needed was there. Maybe few different types of fridge magnets would of been nice but that’s not an issue :)
Valerija from Manchester (02 July 2018)

Stayed for a weekend had a lovely time it was so relaxing we stayed in the lodge beds weren't very comfy and pillows were the same think that is the only thing I would moan about but we were only there for weekend.
Sharon from Co Durham (02 July 2018)

Friendly staff, clean chalets couldn’t ask for more
Gareth from Whitehaven (02 July 2018)

Very enjoyable so good to be able to take our dog out with us to the bar and have all the facilities close by
Moira from Rosyth (02 July 2018)

2 adults 2kids 4/8yr. . all had a ball, chalet nice, comfortable and clean. Nice chilled out family weekend away.
Ryan from Falkirk (02 July 2018)

Had a great time cabin was spotless everything was their that we needed, well worth the money. Didn't see the kids they had a ball. Excellent
Marion from Liverpool (02 July 2018)

Location was really nice and the staff were lovely just wish there was more to do.
Trevor (02 July 2018)

We had a lovely weekend away for my birthday. Our stay was perfect for our family of four. The children enjoyed the freedom, bouncy castle, pool and entertainment. . facilities were great, we were worried after reading some reviews but as soon as we arrived we knew we were in for a great weekend and we weren’t disappointed! . the booking system for the pool is a fantastic idea, no time wasted queuing!
Helen from Runcorn (01 July 2018)

Brilliant want to book again soon in aug if any dates are free
Bobbie (01 July 2018)

Fantastic hilidsy. First time we had been to solway holiday village will certainly return . staff were fantastic and we had one problem as the bed was broken when we got into it on the first night reported next morning and it was fixed straight away. Facilities amaz ing
Sharon from Lugar (29 June 2018)

Brilliant short break from start to finish will deffo revisit chalets clean spacious
Janet from Bolton (29 June 2018)

Convenient location for walks along the seafront with our dogs, couldn't fault that part of our stay. However the complex was a bit rundown & in need of some tlc, even a good sweep up around the chalets would have helped! luckily we didn't get caught out with the fallout from the enormous seagulls flying around, apart from the hit our windscreen tick whilst handing back our keys to leave!. . chalet was reasonably clean inside & plenty of space in number 17 for two adults & two dogs, 2bedrooms, used the 2nd to store our bits & bobs, would have been plenty big enough for a family of four or two couples to stay in. We were in quite a shady area, lots of trees that helped to keep the chalet cooler, plenty of room to put your chairs outside & have a drink or two!. . shower head had a mind of its own, wouldn't tighten up sufficiently to make it stay put, plenty of hot water when we needed it, very clean linen on the beds, but unfortunately felt every spring in the mattress! . . we only stayed for a 4 night break & the weather was glorious, hitting 30 degrees most days. "costa-del-solway" with no sitting hanging around in airport lounges. . can't comment on the resteraunt/bistro/cafe as we didn't use them, plenty of crockery to enable you to make food/meals with & eat with. Full electric oven/grill, 4 hobs, toaster, kettle & fridge all working fine. . there seemed to be plenty of activities to keep children occupied, but we only visited the bar on one occasion & sat in the courtyard area, which was very noisy with a generator running to keep the bouncy castle inflated, nice area but not much room to sit & relax. . we would return but it would have to be the same great deal or less!
May from Kendal, Cumbria (29 June 2018)

Good holiday. Bar staff a bit slow they introduced a new till system during a busy time and the bar staff also looked after the maintenance of the amusements. Which isn't ideal
Carole from Doncaster (29 June 2018)

We had an issue with battery in smoke alarm which had to be teported twice, but the lovely young lady who worked in the shop sorted it out with no hassle. She deserves a promotion-excellent customer service
Joanne from Wigan (29 June 2018)

Very nice comfortable stay at a competitive price would definately go again thanks
Keith from Bury (29 June 2018)

Lovely caravan clean and tidy, food , was nice food in the restaurant , only problem we had was sleeping in with the very noisy seagulls outside !
Diane from Wakefield (25 June 2018)
