A very pleasant place to stay , clean site, lodge good although kitchen area was very small and compact, central location, we stayed here many years ago when our children were small, we liked it then and was pleased to say it was as we had remembered, a most enjoyable holiday.
Sally from Curry Rivel, Somerset (07 October 2016)

This has been our second time in rookley and we would definitely book again :-)
Mark from Havant (01 October 2016)

A few of the lamposts around site were not working and it was very dark on the way back to chalet had to use torch on phone i'm suprised someone hasn't fallen. Overall the chalet was clean and tidy again needed a bit of maintenance I presume this is because it is the end of the season
Sherryl from Kingswinford (01 October 2016)

Accommodation excellent. We thought rubber matting around hot tub would be beneficial. Also internal door mats at main and patio doors.
Kevin from Totton (01 October 2016)

Great place to go with family
Daniel from Poole,Dorset (30 September 2016)

Had a great time..
Diya (26 September 2016)

Would not return was not relaxing
Sarah from St Neots (24 September 2016)

The caravan was in a nice quiet area of the park, however it wasn't as clean or well equipped as we would have hoped. . some of the curtains had no end stoppers which meant they kept coming off the runners when we we pulled them. . the windows were smeary and the bathroom had black mould in the shower surrounds. . there was no outside light. The entertainment was hit and miss as the park wasn't very busy. On our last night a lot more people had arrived but the evenings singer had to perform in the same bar as the football was on instead of in the entertainment lounge for some reason. It took about 15 mins of her hour slot to get the sound system working properly. We felt sorry for the singer!!. . staff were all very friendly and helpful and the site is in a beautiful setting. It's just a shame that the caravans and .entertainment is a bit tired.
Lynne from Norwich (17 September 2016)

The island was a good choice for a holiday with plenty to do and dog friendly in most places the site itself was well used and needs some the.
Andrew from Dolgellau Wales (17 September 2016)

Very good holiday would recommend
Julie from Brighton (17 September 2016)

Room wasn't ready until 17:30 apart from that was a good experience
Tim from Cheshunt (16 September 2016)

We like the location of the park as it is very central on the island. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a nice lake where people can fish and some lodges are situated around it . I like the park this is the third time I have been here , but I think they could do some improvements to it. Our caravan was on a level where you could walk up a flight of wooden steps and the left hand side of the steps were completely rotten and moved as you stepped on them. Also there was a fish and chip shop but that was only open on tuesday. They have two pools both very clean but the inside pool was freezing , we were told the heating for the pool had been broken for about six months . it was also very dark walking to the bar in the evening as some of the lights are broken. But I would still visit again as there is such a friendly atmosphere , well done to your staff.
Linda from Portsmouth (10 September 2016)

Accommodation was pretty good, beds were comfortable, house cleaning was not what it should have been. Poor cutlery selection.
Michael from Southampton (10 September 2016)

Lovely place
Stuart from York (10 September 2016)

What a beautiful setting we loved it there the cottages are beautiful and a really good size will definitely book again next time hubby is going to do a bit of fishing
Mandy from London (10 September 2016)

The caravan itself was great and not too far from the club house. Also the central location was great.unfortunately these are the downsides . . 1. The food in the restaurant was tasteless and cold. . 2. The play facilities for children were poor. My toddler of 2yrs had nowhere to play on that was suitable for him. . . 3. The entertainment was a let down . . 4 the pool was rather cold, so much so the younger ones could only manage 20 minutes
Chris from Buckingham (03 September 2016)

Accommodation not ready until gone 4.30 when it stated 4pm. One evening we caught someone looking through our windows and tried to call security but no answers on either phone so we actually had to go and find someone!! garden is poor, dryer didn't work on washer dryer, spa bath didn't work and cottage was tatty. Beds were awful and kids were awake half the night as whenever they moved the beds squeaked same with double bed.
Hayley (03 September 2016)

We arrived earlier but did not get acess to lodge untill 4 30 ,the fridge did not work properly froze the food ,the whirlpool bath did not work and there was no frying pan had to ask for one,the sofa and arm chairs were past their best . the entertainment was no good and there wasnot enough lighting on the site it was very dark in some parts, the swimming pools were very small. After going to your park at gunard pines were the park and lodges were excellent we . were very disapointed with this park and would not go there again.
Pauline from Southend Essex (03 September 2016)

The staff are really helpful and friendly. Rookley is a lovely relaxing site
Julie from Lymington (02 September 2016)

Located in the middle of the island so it's easy to plan day trips in every direction. Facilities and the cottage we stayed in were a little dated and in need of some spring cleaning. Cottage itself was nice and spacious. Brief electricity failure on the first night was inconvenient (washing in cold water with the mobile phone as a source of light) but we will file it under 'adventure' - the stars did look wonderful in the blackout.
Maksym from Essex (02 September 2016)

We were a little disappointed that the staff didn't seem to know where our dog was allowed. We were told by the receptionist when we arrived that he could go anywhere, but then when we attempted to go into the dining area on the evening we were asked to move to the slate floor area (where there was another table with a dog in tow). this was fine, but then the next morning only after our breakfast was delivered to the table were we told that dogs are not allowed in the dining area at all. We were then made to go outside (it was cold and windy) carrying our breakfast and hot drinks! this was quite embarrassing, and our food and drinks soon went cold. When our plates were cleared away we were asked why we had left our drinks and I said because we had been kicked out and they were cold. The waiter simply said "oh yes, because you have a dog and its health and safety". this waiter had actually served us the night before! this experience did put a dampener on an otherwise enjoyable few days and we left that day with a negative feeling. However, other than that it is a lovely park and the accommodation was nice. I don't really understand why dogs are not allowed in a section of the dining area. Leaving the dog at home defeats the object of taking them on a family holiday and I don't agree that it's a health and safety issue. There are many restaurants, cafeterias that allow dogs.
Nicola from Birmingham (02 September 2016)

I know that there is a co-op not far from the park but it would have been nice to have had a little shop on site.
Caroline from Ruislip (29 August 2016)

Fantastic time, club house staff worked hard but lacked people. Maybe more promtion
Kim from Tonbridge (29 August 2016)

Helpful staff.
Ian from Surbiton (15 August 2016)

Lovely park, caravans quite dated, however if you look past that its fine. Caravans set out nicely, didn't feel crowded or overlooked. Set on a hillside so best sunbathing at the site. Truly lovely place. Everything just stuck in the past. Felt the same and looked the same as 30 years ago. Needs money spent on it.
Louise from Leicester (13 August 2016)

Mobile home was clean, a nice size and comfortable. . it had all the facilities we needed including full size cooker and fridge and freeze. Bathroom was small but fine. . it was very quiet site at night and the facilities on site were great for kids.
Claire from Maidstone (13 August 2016)

This is the second year we have been to rookley and the best we had a cottage that was amazing ,
Janice from Littlehampton West Sussex (13 August 2016)

Very pleasant and helpful staff
Lewis from Rhymney (13 August 2016)

We stayed at rookley country park for a week, on arrival our fridge in the a static wasn't working - really helpful member of facilities replaced it with no fuss which was a great start. Swimming pools - both indoor and outdoor were perfect temperature wise and very clean, lifeguards left you alone which was refreshing. My only complaints which I did feedback to the park manager was that staff on reception could have been more cheery - I called to query a delivery I was expecting and the receptionist was very miserable. My wife took my daughter to the children's activity one morning but was dismayed to find the hosting member of staff was more interested to help her own daughter - who was also bossing around other guests children and telling them that if they were over 5 then they couldn't stay.. this was unprofessional to say the least. Lastly, the games room is contracted out to a third party company but reflects poorly on the holiday site as the pool game is £1 but has broken pool cues, the table football only gives you 2 balls to use, and the arcade grabbers don't show percentage win and the grabbing arms are as pathetic as we are all used to. It was a nice site but let down by one or two members of staff. On the whole it was an enjoyable stay though.
Luke from Wellingborough (13 August 2016)

We enjoyed ourselves. some of the site facilities need a little work, many leaks inside and outside, some of the games machines weren't working and there were sometimes no balls for the crazy golf. in high season, there should be surplus balls ordered for the crazy golf. these weren't major issues as we had a great time.
Audrey from Berkshire (12 August 2016)

Booked silver caravan. very grubby inside, carpet frayed on floor tripped over on it. curtains hanging off tracks, bathroom cabinet rusty, cobwebs in front room, no frying pan just generally disappointing for the money
Jane from Sutton (12 August 2016)

Friendly family park with lots on site if you like family entertainment.
Jay from Doncaster (12 August 2016)

Great value for money. . after reading the reviews we were worried and had extremely low expectations for the accommodation. However we were very pleasantly surprised at how clean, tidy and we'll stocked our caravan was. Plenty of dishes cutlery and utensils were on hand contrary to some of the reviews we read. We didn't use any of the on site facilities so can't comment on those. . the staff could have been a lot more friendlier and initiate some form of helpfulness. Maybe ask if we've ever visited the island before, advise some great local places to visit etc.. having such young receptionists, who seemed way out of their depth, does not give a good impression at all - made it seem as though the park was run by kids.. and our welcome reception was as you would expect from youngsters. All this aside, we would certainly still come back here.
Lorraine from Taunton (08 August 2016)

The park is genuinely lovely with fantastic lakes. Fishing should be free for residents based on the cost of the holiday but saying that the fishing is exceptional. . . the staff were superb with special thanks to melanie who was a fantastic example of customer service in the restaurant especially with our gluten free needs for our son. . . the entertainment people were nice but being honest content left a fair bit to be desired with a decent entertainer or two but the room lacks atmosphere and people didn't always turn up leaving a lack of atmosphere. . part of this problem is that you cannot order or take food into the entertainment area therefore it can't easily be part of the overall evening experience. . on the whole it was a fantastic park and we stayed in a godshill cottage with a hottub which was lovely but poorly positioned especially if it rains with muddy paths. . . ignore any overly bad reviews and sample this place. The food was excellent and the fishing was awesome on the small lake.
Graham from Surrey (06 August 2016)

A very nice environment for all the family. Great staff who were very helpful.. entertainment of an evening was ideal for the bar/club .. looking forward to visiting you your park again.
Gary from Liverpool (06 August 2016)

On arrival the bathroom of the caravan had not been cleaned the shower and the floor was clovered in sand. We were also with out hot water and heating due to the boiler not working even though we kept reporting it. The food in the resurant was very poor very small and has just been reheated othervthan that rookly is a very beautiful place to stay. And this is the second stay we have had there
Lyndsay from Dronfield (06 August 2016)

Lovely setting and very clean
Debra from Leeds (06 August 2016)

Original caravan given was disgusting, was moved quite swiftly once complained. The site was dated and was in much need of a revamp. The staff were very casual but polite and accommodating, which to me is what really matter. I think it was bit basic for the money paid and were we got moved to is more like what I would have expected for the money. I feel the park literally buys vans, parks them up and does the very very basic, i.e bedding, to, cutlery and plates. The pool although smelt clean was merky and was rather off putting not at all like the pictures online. Our caravan was in a car park that backed onto an industrial estate and at around 6:50 to 7:30 every morning through the week the skip company almost directly next door started crashing around their skips, which scared my little one half to death. Not our best holiday ever and will not be going back.
Christina from Dartford (06 August 2016)

Nice park and staff.although I knew we had hired the most basic van, arriving on a rainy day immediately highlighted no doormat-but no bin, token j-cloth or plug for kitchen sink either (i had guessed no towels!)
Louise from Reading (05 August 2016)

Had a great weekend there will be back again.
Robin from Gloucester (01 August 2016)

Like others have said, the kitchen in the cottage wasn't particularly clean when we arrived- there was a box of cereal left over from the previous occupant as well as spills on the surfaces. That said, everything else seemed to be fine. The hot tub was fantastic and the beds were comfortable. . the location of the park was pretty central so it was great to use as a base to explore the island and we got very lucky with the weather the week we went, which made a difference. . we found the on site bar and restaurant to be good value- there was regular entertainment each night but to be honest we never bothered going as we have a baby that doesn't sleep so most nights we went to bed early. The only issue we faced was a group of men a couple of doors away from us, who, on the last night decided to make noise, rev car engines and generally be ignorant and inconsiderate until past 1 in the morning. People asked them to keep the noise down and were ignored and verbally attacked. This is not great where there are families and this would put me off for the future if i'm honest. We got the holiday for a good price last minute but if we had have paid full rate I think we would have been disappointed.
Sarah from Willenhall (29 July 2016)

Great!
Adam from Lindon (29 July 2016)

Really enjoyable family holiday looking forward to going back next year
Leigh from Cardiff (29 July 2016)

Central to the isle so great for using as a base for sightseeing. Set in a country park with 4 fishing lakes with main reception and dining overlooking the biggest lake. 2 swimming pools indoor and outdoor clean and lifeguard safe when busy. Nice peaceful surroundings.
Rachel from Eastbourne (29 July 2016)

The facilities weren't great and we didn't use the pools as they looked a bit murky. The best thing about the park was the lake that you could walk around and feed the ducks there.
Serena (29 July 2016)

Site very clean, staff help full,we stayed in a caravan which was ok but could do with updating .
David (29 July 2016)

Fab location, not enough on site for my teenage children to do. Cottage cleanliness was not great and I had to clean before we used kitchen etc. Overall nice and hot tub was good.
Hayley from Essex (29 July 2016)

So good we have rebooked for two weeks next year within a month of returning home!!!
Alison from Sheffield (23 July 2016)

The caravan was clean and . area lovely hiring caravans out to people that come to work from the main land not good as sitting outside talking till early hours then up for work early putting items in van etc the step goi g from main pool to outdoor pool very steep and no handle also steeps leading into outdoor pool very steep and not close together the steps don't go far enough down and the handles are not suitable also the have steps at shallow end to walk down can be slippy not good for disabled people but overall lovely park would go again
Kathleen from Sherborne (22 July 2016)

No shop or take away facility, resturant ran out of food, food quality was not the best. . site was pretty clean when we had a problem staff dealt with eventually.
Claire (22 July 2016)

Lovely place for our family 4 day break in july. cottage clean and well equipped. Food in bar lovely . we will definitely return.
Tracey from Wigan (22 July 2016)

Friendly respectful staff, there if needed but not pushy. Facilities pools, restaurant and bar all perfectly servicable
Sam from Warlingham (22 July 2016)

Lovely place had a wonderful holiday .
Janice from Barry (22 July 2016)

Very nice and peaceful
Viviane from Castleford (18 July 2016)

A very nice site.
Bernard from Cardiff (16 July 2016)

The park was nice enough, but we were disappointed with the quality of the caravan in comparison to one we stayed in last year in a different part of the country. We requested a caravan with a parking space, when we got there we had a caravan next to the main car park, convenient for proximity to our car but not so good when you have two small children.we didn't feel they were safe playing outside. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Rachael from Whyteleafe (16 July 2016)

The let down on this holiday was, when we arrived the caravan we were given was a very basic caravan, but on the hoseseasons brochure the van was a medina ii which was a lot smarter looking.our caravan was dirty on the outside with green algea around windows and weeds growingfrom the gutters about 12" high, inside there was several kitchen utensils missing.gas fire not working, and no information on how anything should work, and no itinery list to check out.also the duvet cover left a lot to be desired.when we complained the staff did replacethe missing parts and gave us an electric fire as it was cold in the morning.which was ashame because we enjoyed our time in the isle of white.sorry to moan yours sincerely mr dennis pratt.
Judith from Brighton (16 July 2016)

The caravan was filthy and the staff are rude
Lisa (16 July 2016)

We enjoyed are holiday accommodation was not to bad we stayed in 24 in white cottages would have liked mattress cover on mattress and bathroom taps and shower needs updating toilet needed a good clean and some mould on tiles also need to have small shed for storage of fishing gear this could be rented by having padlocks and renting out the keys my husband loved the fishing this is the resin we would go back food in restaurant was not great
Sheila from Godalming (16 July 2016)

Carpet in caravan dirty , microwave not cleaned , duvas not same size as bed, lots of curtain hooks missing ,no grill pan for oven, fridge and frezzer rusty . food not that good on the saturday night people had to wait 1hour plus for food , vision glass on boiler missing .
Stephen from Camberley (16 July 2016)

The park itself was very pleasant. the accomodation was slightly worse for wear. the bathroom was really tatty and in need of an update - this really let the cottage down. Also dog friendly cottages weren't really - out door space wasn't enclosed. . . the food at the restaurant on site was good value - especially the 2 for £10 before 7pm.
Julie from Cirencester (15 July 2016)

Good site, excellent location for travelling all around iow. Caravan good and spacious, felt like it needed a bit better clean and a few more utensils, but overall good.
Michelle from Somerset (09 July 2016)

Nice place. Helpful and friendly staff. Entertainment at night for the kids just great.jordan and laura keep up the fab stuff u both do..
Cindy from Skegness (09 July 2016)

Enjoyed it will go again
Gerard from Birmingham (09 July 2016)

Lovely holiday park, entertainment was ok, food in restaurant was good value for money.
Sharon from Southampton (08 July 2016)

Check in wasn't until 4pm. Had I have known this I probably wouldn't have stayed as I had a baby to feed and bath ready for bed after a day's travelling. Toilet kept getting blocked, to didn't work and neither did the gas fire. Games room wasn't very much either.
David from Southampton (08 July 2016)

Dirty premises, little or no basic kitchen equipment, indoor pool freezing cold, jet bath didn't work.
Lee (08 July 2016)

Fantastic time away the kids really enjoyed it xx
Claire from Havant (04 July 2016)

Lovely place to stay with kids. Central to everything on the island. Caravan very tired and dated, but clean and comfortable.
Abi from Essex (04 July 2016)

Excellent location for the island. We had a really good holiday.
Sara from Sleaford (02 July 2016)

Your direct staff were excellent however the fishing concession did you no good as it was not clear that fishing was not included and when we asked we were treated with contemp t by their staff
Don (01 July 2016)

The location and park were lovely but when we got to the caravan the curtains were hanging off the rails, there was a lot of rust on metal fittings and the caravan looked 'tired'
Jane from Bognor Regis (27 June 2016)

As a base to stay on the isle of 'wight this is in an excellent position the park itself is cheap and cheerful what lets it down is its next to an industrial estate and the name of the park does not not live up to its name as its not a country park also the reception staff let the park down with a cant be bothered and I must finish my nails before I can serve you attitude but this has been resolved with an email to the manager otherwise we had quite a nice stay
Robert (25 June 2016)

Fantastic holiday lovely soroundings very comfy cottage and loved the hot tub !!
Bradley (25 June 2016)

Absolutely beautiful location. accommodation lovely. Well equipped. very dog friendly. beds comfortable. swimming pool great.
Beverley from Hartlepool (25 June 2016)

Enjoyable holiday. Would visit again. Ferry costs far too high. Lack of maintenance in patio area of bungalow (broken metal chair and too many plants). superb location for visiting the island.
Allan from Lower Stondon Bedfordshire (25 June 2016)

Fishing is a rip off, food in restaurant awaful
Pete (25 June 2016)

Lovely site, nice club house shame about fishing lakes because there was loads of rats running around early mornings and evenings out side holiday homes.
Hayley from Bristol (24 June 2016)

We arrived at 7pm reception had rang and left keys at the bar , the van didn't have enough bedding so I was cold all night as had to keep my 2 year old warm , the kettle didn't work , the grill didn't work either I had to hold it to in order to use it , cob webs hanging over the dining table and cutlery was filthy , one of the single beds mattress was springs sticking out , I called the number provided but no answer , so following morning went and told reception they said they would have a kettle and bedding provided for when I returned from my outing , in return nothing was done so I had to again ring no answer at reception at 1pm so had to ring another department , they then brought new bedding , I had to remind the maintainence man about the kettle so he then arranged for my kettle . very disappointed
Zoe from Harlow Essex (19 June 2016)

Pool was too small, other than that a lovely site.
Carole from Thetford (17 June 2016)

We booked very last minitue via the website on day we wanted to arrive. We were welcomed by friendly. Staff and the accommodation was clean and and quiet as we expected. We had a problem with a light not working and this was fixed the same day as we reported it. . . accommodation was basic and comfortable so we're very happy.
Ashley from Bournemouth (17 June 2016)

As you didn't offer an option of 'possible return to rookley', I have had to opt for no. our accommodation experience was disappointing due to. - dirty eg cob webs, layers of dust, hair deposits, kitchen food spillages. blinds, cupboards, drawers, tv, behind the toilet had dust and dirt deposits. . - main door missing the curtain which restricted movement within the caravan due to neighbours. - lounge curtains not fitted and hanging loose all round. - no tea towel as per hoseseasons itinery, requested but told this is no included. hoseseasons you need to update your itinery details as this caused additional expense unnecessarily. Our impression was that our caravan had not been cleaned since last season which was very disappointing.
Brigid from Ashurst Southampton (13 June 2016)

Excellent place
Michael from Port Talbot (13 June 2016)

Caravan was poor equipped nothing to cook with ants infested even the tv was from the dart ages
Malcolm from Axminster (11 June 2016)

Overall a fantastic holiday!
Samantha from Bexleyheath, Kent (04 June 2016)

It was nice but it could have better.
Andrew from Salisbury (04 June 2016)

Road was not suitable for disabled due to the gravel.
Brenda from Haywards Heath (04 June 2016)

Caravan was condemed after we were moved out of it.
Stephanie (04 June 2016)

Mini golf, park and swimming pool were a let down. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. Also lodge was not clean on arrival, greasy kitchen floor and dirty cutlery etc. Hot tub was lovely, shame there's seating area out there so you can socialise with other family members who do not want to use hot tub. Size of lodge was great n location is great.
Julie from Southampton (03 June 2016)

Great holiday park. The cottage could do with a spring clean - but nothing major. very relaxing!
Vanessa from Swanmore (03 June 2016)

Great site, lovely location.
Stephen from Essex (03 June 2016)

Good and clean facilities, but disappointed that the tumble dryer in the washing machine did not work despite it being reported twice. The option would have been useful with having 2 young children's clothes to keep clean.
Sharon from Nottingham (28 May 2016)

We had a really lovely holiday. It was a nice location and park was really good. the swimming pool was abit cold
Martin from Wellingborough (28 May 2016)

Reception staff were not there when we arrived - myself and another customer were told that reception closes at 6pm and that was why there were no staff - it was 5.30pm at the time. No welcome pack or key had been left for us at reception where it should have been so it took a long time for staff to find a key for our accomodation. As there were many problems with our accomodation I went to reception to ask to be moved but there was a long wait as there was only one member of staff to speak to and many holiday makers had complaints to the point that we were being told we couldnt be moved as there weren't any empty caravans left to move us to.
Joy from Mid Wales (28 May 2016)

Lovely place cant wait to go back
Emma from Milton Keynes (27 May 2016)

Last time we came we had a cottage which was wonderful but this time we had a caravan and was very dissapointed. It was a wreck the floor had a big dip in it, the seat cushions did not stay on the seats, it opened onto a road, so we had to keep the door shut in case the grandchildren stepped out onto the road, opposite were two caravans that were obviously full time residents and they had dogs that were off their leads and also had to listen to them swearing at each other. We were at the top of the hill where the vans seemed to be closer together. Not an ideal holiday with children. I would come again as the location is very central but will always stay in a cottage.
Susan from Upper Beeding (27 May 2016)

The caravan in which we stayed was sold as one of the only 8 berth vans available & was described as a more deluxe model. It was of a every low standard and in need of an upgrade. Bedding for 4 was provided when we booked for 8, it was a good job our party numbers were reduced at the last minute.the cleanliness was less than poor and I had to clean it myself before unpacking our belongings. Although I complained to the staff they simply offered for me to see an accommodation manager that was not even on site at the time. There was no apology or even surprise that I was not happy with the cleanliness it was almost as if this was a regular occurrence. The microwave could not be used as the inside coatings were peeling off. The steps to the caravan were not secured correctly and wobbly. On our last day the customers in the next caravan informed us that the water pipe under the caravan was also leaking.
Brent (23 May 2016)

Only one member of staff was helpful the accommodation was very poor entertainment was rubbish never again
Robert from Somerset (21 May 2016)

Very comfortable cottage. Outside jacuzzi was good. Windows and nets could have done with a bit of a wash. jacuzzi bath didn't work. pane of glass was cracked in the twin bedroom. over all facilities were good although we didn't go into the reception area or to the pool throughout our stay preferring to go out of the park.
John from Farnborough, Hampshire (21 May 2016)

On arrival to my caravan, I needed the help of the maintenance team as there was, no heating no hot water, however the time waiting in my opinion was far to long.
John from Middlesex (20 May 2016)

The evening entertainment was not very good and the food was not great, but in general it is a lovely holiday destination.
Trevor from Bicester (14 May 2016)

The park was flooded during our stay. Water surrounded the caravan. . although not used the club house looked adequate. Fishing lake appeared well maintained. The shower, toilets in the park were an absolute disgrace . the overall appearance of the site was one that resembled a building site. As we were leaving early on our final morning we were given a pass-code to drop off our keys. This failed to work so we were forced to leave the keys on top of the key safe. Unfortunately we had already booked for another stay in june. I do feel that knowing what we know now we would have selected a different site. . not at all appealing.
Anthony from Haverhill (13 May 2016)

Good value for what I payed which was less than high season but would be disappointed had I payed more. Sight excellent but cottage needs some updating also even tho no smoking cigarette butts littered garden.
Julia from Rookley (13 May 2016)

Place was ok but not great
Jade (13 May 2016)

Enjoyed it very much .lovely break with my 2 sons they loved it fishing swimming and the entertainment we went on a bank holiday weekend it was my son's birthday we had a fab time we took our dog and found it to be very dog friendly we booked for the week as it was not a bad price we had to leave on the monday due to work but would have been lovely to spend the week as plenty to do caravan was clean and spacious for us we had a room each and close to facilities . thankyou maria harris .
Maria from Bournemouth (07 May 2016)

It's always nice to stay somewhere that the emphasis is on customer care. All staff are approachable and help as much as they can. Very refreshing.
Hayley from Orpington (02 May 2016)

This exceeded my expectations - particularly for the price paid. A lovely setting and extremely helpful staff.
Elizabeth from London (02 May 2016)

Fantastic place love it
Steve from Sussex (02 May 2016)

Very sad that the staff fail to live up to the surroundings
Malcolm from Enfield (29 April 2016)

Not able to book in until after 4pm is too late - many people have been travelling all day by this time & need to chill out in our own place, not sit in reception (we had been up since 6am and had been on the island since 12.). . not a peaceful weekend, but had worse!
Jane from Bristol (18 April 2016)

Location was great, quite central to the island, the park was nice and quiet too. The staff were helpful, though I think that they needed more, especially at breakfast time. We managed to dodge the queues, however at times they were horrendous. We had a meal there in the evening when we arrived and quite a few items were off the menu. Service that night was something out of fawlty towers. We are a laid back couple and managed to see the funny side of things, though trying to fob off vegetable spring rolls for duck ones is a big no no!!!
Nick from Milton Keynes (18 April 2016)

We have been coming every year for several years and will continue to do so
Clive from Nottingham (16 April 2016)

After letting my daughter go into the rookley swimming pool she came out with very green hair (she is 9 it isnt dyed). within 24 hours she had a terrible temperature and was very sick. Our friends daughter who had also been in there was very sick too. We came home early she had to go to the dr who said it was very likely to be from the pool. . . we knew another family there and their son had been ill but they hadn't thought about it being the pool until we were back and mentioned it. He also was ill within 24 hrs. . . I called and spoke to a girl on reception who said she would get someone to look into this but cant test the pool without getting someone in externally. she was supposed to call me back but never did. . . my daughters hair took 2 weeks and some shampoo from a friend hairdresser to remove the green colour.
Paula (09 April 2016)

We arrived at the caravan it had not been cleaned at all had to wait 1 hour for someone to come and move us to another van which was not much better (but beds had been changed)
Darren (09 April 2016)

Loved it
Sonia from London (09 April 2016)

We loved our stay, we had problems with lighting the fire but once the site came and looked at it he should us how to re-light it. he also replaced a towel ring which had come loose. my husband found the food to be very bland and some of the staff not very friendly. The caravan served our purpose of our break and the amenitities were all working.
Anita from Bicester, Oxfordshire (08 April 2016)

Children loved the indoor pool. Caravan was clean as was the whole site. Staff friendly and helpful.
Paul from Downend, Bristol (04 April 2016)

I've been to quite a few short breaks, and all we're beautiful and clean. Rookley park was the worst place ive ever been to. On the 27th of march we were really cold at night, all power was cut by bad weather until the next day. So I day and night with no power. The property is very dirty, shower broken, floors make so much noise and when we used the hot tub in the garden, there's a lot of mud but nothing to wipe your shose with. The property was not right. I've been to other places, but nothing like this.
Ghita from London (28 March 2016)

We very much enjoyed our easter break to roockly park!! best bit was the entertainment, especially for the children in the club house during the evenings!! tamzin, loopy laura and crazy colin were amazing!! overall had a fabulous holiday!!
Gemma from Southampton (28 March 2016)

Susan from Steyning, West Sussex (18 March 2016)

The cottage we stayed in was lovely staff were nice and friendly happy to return again
Sarah from Cambridge (11 March 2016)

Staff generally good, but some of the reception stuff not very helpful and more interested in looking at the facebook than dealing with customers. Could do with baby changing mats in the swimming pool changing rooms. cottage was nice and clean,
Darren from Salisbury (11 March 2016)

The whole bar is on top of each other and guest seemed as if they were out on day release from a institution
Alan from Portsmouth (07 March 2016)

Had a really lovely stay here and would recommend to family and friends. The country park was great, there were lots of facilities on site (we were shown them when we were checking in) however we did not use them as we spent most of our days visiting other area's of the island. The lakes were lovely and it was great fun feeding the ducks with any leftover bread! with it being out of season there was maintenance being completed to the facilities on site, unfortunately because of this work we were unable to park outside of our cottage for the whole week due to bags full of sand were outside of our property which meant there we had to park in front of other vacant cottages which wasn't ideal. Staff were very friendly during check in however during check out when mentioning the problems we had with the cottage the lady did apologise however there was no attempt to compensate us for the problems that we experienced.
Vera from Southampton (05 March 2016)

The cottage could have done with refreshing, but it was perfectly serviceable; warm and the beds were spotless. . . ideally situated to explore the whole island and excellent value for money.
Jane from Dover (29 February 2016)

Beautiful place, some aspects let it down but because out of season it was good value for money..
Daniel from Gillingham Kent (26 February 2016)

Anthony from Ripley (19 February 2016)

Arrived to find no pillows or duvets on beds, housekeeping ladies were very helpful. Light over bed in double bedroom didn't work nor did one of the lights in the hall, curtains didn't shut properly and kept falling off rails. The caravan was nicely set out and we enjoyed exploring the island.

Nice break but caravan very cold and damp had to sleep in lounge as bedroom so cold even with the heater on. No cupboard space caravan was very clean. Car parking a joke had to walk yards in the rain and so wet.
Peter from Southampton (15 February 2016)

We reported that the dishwasher wasn't working & that we would be out all day for someone to attend to sort it out but it never happened so we had to leave the dirty dishes in the dishwasher on departure.
