Didn't sleep well, due to worn out mattress and cheap flat pillows. Dangerous uneven decking, stale bread and butter in the cupboard on arrival. No amenities open during our mon to fri stay, meant going off site to get an evening meal
Anita from North Lincolnshire (07 September 2018)

Beautiful lodge with great views of the lake. Peaceful throughout the stay, great hot tub and lovely site.
Phil from Barrow In Furness (02 September 2018)

Realy enjoyed the place fantastic friendly staff quiet just how we like it would stay again.
Kevin from Hull (31 August 2018)

Very nice caravan and very clean site but not a lot to do , the site mainly relies on water sports, some very nice walks and nice play area for the children.
Gerald from Middlesbrough (27 August 2018)

Not much going on on site or locally. The nearest swimming pool in haverigg closed last year so it's quite a distance if you're taking children and they want to go swimming. There is a park on site. There's a pub and a chip shop a ten minute walk from the caravan park. It's average at best.
Jay from Yorks (27 August 2018)

We had a fantastic holiday & will definitely be back x
Kirstie from Bristol (27 August 2018)

Very disappointed with the caravan. did not compare with previous one nearby in cumbria last year. it was flimsy, the bedrooms were too cramped and we could hear the child in the next caravan running about. It was superficially clean, but there were dog hairs left (and some of our party have allergies), the tops of the cupboards and pictures were mucky and there was a cigarette butt under one of the seat swabs - and 30p!!. on the plus side it was good to have 2 toilets and a reasonable shower and a playplay for the children in sight of the caravan
Lynette from Broughton In Furness (27 August 2018)

Worst holiday ive ever been on the shower door was not working I reported it and it was never repaired . theres no shop on the site no entertainment and mostly no proper food places what food places there are are so expensive and close very early. The caravan was an 8 birth but there was only 6 of us and that was a squeeze so very small for an 8 berth. Bedrooms were very small not enough seating for 6 around the dining table let alone 8. Will never go there again.
Brian from Peterborough (11 August 2018)

Had a very good time place very nice quiet and peaceful . lovely walks with the dogs . only one issue the waterside at the lake there was bird poo everywhere unable to walk on the area ( looked like dog poo )
Colin (28 July 2018)

Lovely quiet location.
Marie from Leeds (27 July 2018)

Our family went from busy london to get some peace and quiet and this is what we got. Very nice surroundings and the park is beautiful. Our dauther enjoyed the playground which was just across from our caravan where we could watch her play.
Violeta from London (24 June 2018)

Disappointed at lack of amenities and character about the place. Caravan site very drab. very little information about site given and hospitality from receptionist very poor.wouldn't recommend it at all. Lodge was lovely
Irene from Glasgow (18 June 2018)

Had a fantastic 4 days here never been before lovely location lovely walks caravan was wonderful would go back
Patricia from Stockport (15 June 2018)

Only problem we had was finding restaurants/pubs that were not serving food in certain days and certain times. Having to book in advance too was important for some. Guidance in the caravans of this would be useful as well as ones in millom and take away places?
Laura (01 June 2018)

The location is good next to the lake and sea/ beach. Caravan generally good and clean. Site good, with children's playground and pub. . . there was a lack of information on the website about the site and the caravans. We were told there was an information pack in the caravan, but this was just a lakes tourist pack. Therefore there was nothing about the local area, or the site, or other facilities. . . there were no places to eat on a monday night in the village/site. None of pubs served food, ski bar stopped serving at 5pm and chip shop closed. As this is a regular arrival night for the caravans it would have been useful to know about. Luckily the village shop was open in the evening to purchase some basics, and there is a tesco in millom next town. . . . the beds were uncomfortable, so we used spare duvets underneath our sheets, which made them bearable. Another slight grumble is no outside table/ chairs/bench which would have been great during the very hot weather we had. Not everyone has space to bring their own chairs. The local prison make some very substantial ones as used in the pub garden. . . . having said that we enjoyed our break and loved the area.
Stephanie from Sheffield (01 June 2018)

We have had a great warm and sunny whole stay. It was fab.
Aleksandra (01 June 2018)

Amazing & great place for families. Enjoyed stay. . definitely will visit next time.
Avdhoot (28 May 2018)

Great space clean and great view of the sea and beach. . . good play areas for kids . short walk into the town with few shops and pubs . not too far from the lakes and value for money
Emma from Leeds (28 May 2018)

Port haverigg is a beautiful, clean, really well designed site.
Judith from Bolton (25 May 2018)

It was very hot the week we visited which was a bonus until we arrived back at the caravan as it was too hot for the dogs and the baby to be comfortable, could have done with a fan to be honest. . the staff onsite were friendly and helpful but that can’t be said for the ‘gentleman’ who was working in the pub, not the skibar, on the tuesday night, we arrived at 515 for food and we were aggressively told food stopped at 5 - so we left and never returned and found a local tesco and the chippy nearby, shame really as we would have gone there every night for dinner and a few drink with our baby and dogs so could have had a few ££s in the full but he wasn’t bothered!. . great location for exploring the lakes and will consider returning
Alison from Edinburgh (25 May 2018)

The holiday village needs updating they also have taken £100 deposit which I have still not had put back into my account
Linda from Yorkshire (21 May 2018)

Amazing and comfortable stay. Great location and amazing sea views.
Majo from Liverpool (29 April 2018)

We stayed at port haverigg in april with our 2 sons age 2 and 5. . the log cabin was beautiful, the only downside was that we had to walk to the front of the cabin, past the car, to get to the hot tub. It wasn't very private. . the beds need. Improvement! I had back ache all weekend because the mattress was so uncomfortable. . nothing for young children to do here. Luckily the weather was lovely so we went to the beach and had a trip to south lakes zoo. . if improvements to the bed and hot tub were made, I would return.

The caravan was suprisingly big enough for 7 adults. The hot tub was great however on the saturday it went cold and we were unable to use it on saturday night. As we left sunday it was the majority of the stay. . . also when we arrived no one was on site to meet us even though we arrived at 5pm. They advised they had tried to call but no missed calls. Sone were not shown how to use the hot tub. . . we were very disappointed not to have use of it on saturday.

The place is lovely and the town of millom really nice. The accommodation was simply not what we have come to expect as vip. The hot tub was great but was not built into decking and was a few muddy steps away from the door of the caravan. The only way to get into the tub was by climbing in which would be a problem for anyone with restricted mobility. The location great and the staff were helpful. Not what we expected for the money.

Cabin was beautiful with a fab view but hot tub let it down , had maintenance guy out but still wouldn’t heat properly, so couldn’t use for 4 night break , when checking out was gave the impression that it was known not to be working properly and the guy at desk quoted there more hassle than there worth .

Nice site. . wished that there was no chipped crockery and that we had more than 5 mugs, as 1 was chipped. Only had 1 pillow each and had to ask for more, which the staff bought for us. We only had 3 dessert spoons and were given more, told that towels were not supplied, but were left a bath and a hand towel, asked for another hand towel, as we had an additional toilet with a sink, a guest soap at each toilet sink would of been nice. We also had 1 oven mitt and wished we had 2 as it's more safe with 2. Wished there was more than 1 oven shelf and some baking trays for cooking, especially as it's a self catering holiday/break, but it was nice to of been left a spare bin bag, kitchen sponge 'j' cloth and 't' towel. Caravan was very clean, tidy and warm

Perfect for us as a family. Not quite enough glasses for us to drink from but that’s nit picking. Excellent location next to the brill playground and caravan was spot on!

Late october is pretty much out of season to get the best out of the facilities on offer, but this is a lovely site in great surroundings for a fresh walk and access to sites in the southerly lakes.

Excellent time apart from weather but who can control that? perhaps it would be too busy in the summer season for us. out of season it was terrific.

Jean from Filey (30 September 2017)

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. however I would not rate it as vip standard. we opted for a hot tub this time instead of the sauna we have regularly chosen before and it was brilliant! . the site staff were extremely helpful and a special thanks to lee. Yes we would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.
Patricia from Kettering (16 September 2017)

Beautiful location, great access to the western lakes
Andrew from Wolverhampton (15 September 2017)

Wonderful setting for exploring the lake district - especially the southern part of it. everything is kept neat and tidy. Newly laid tarmac and shingled driveway. You can get into your caravan without stepping on the dirt/mud as the pathway is paved (important for cleanliness). I had been to some other caravan sites (operated by a different provider) in europe where such facilities were had to come by.
Abdur from London (25 August 2017)

Lovely place and good clean caravan. Only minus was there wasn't a lot of cooking utensils. I wouldn't have dare use the frying pan old and rusty. Just an observation more than a criticism. We had a fabulous time.
Karen from Derby (19 August 2017)

We had a very plesent stay here. We did lots of hiking and walks. It's a plesent area although there isn't much in the way of restaurants, shops ect. it was perfect for us as we wanted self catering and cooked our own meals in the caravan. We traveled to different locations most days. It's right on the beach with a little play park and cafe. we enjoyed it very much as we are not keen on busy places. We wanted somewhere to walk and relax.
Sarah (14 August 2017)

Could not fault it. Caravan was very clean and tidy. Enjoyed the peace and quietness and the views were great too. Good value for money would thoroughly recommend it.
Derek from Wellingborough (14 August 2017)

The holiday was quite expensive for what it was and could have gone elsewhere for better value with better accommodation. Paid extra for hot tub and it was literally a hot tub dumped at the side of the caravan. It could do with an enclosure to make it more private and less windy!!!! perfect location and plenty of good walks about for all the family
John from Leeds (05 August 2017)

Port haverigg holiday resort is mainly a residential site, if we had known this we would not have booked. The lodge is new but lacks many touches to make it a luxury lodge. The hot tub is nice but not situated on the decking and not very private. The lodge is missing simple things like coat hooks, toilet roll holders and locks on bathroom doors don't work. Will not be coming back, it was a diss appointment as booked for our honeymoon
Louise from Dudley (05 August 2017)

Very good holiday but could feel every spring in the matters very uncomfortable time to up gread
Patrick from Glasgow (05 August 2017)

Lovely park and lodges , great views, just a little too far out for us .
Catherine (28 July 2017)

Lovely park in a great location, lodge was well kept and clean, only things that would helped make it better would have been a dvd player and the sky bar selling food
Craig (21 July 2017)

We stayed there as a family of five.the caravan was clean and tidy but there were no cleaning aids provided.also there is no much to do for children on site.won't be returning back
Galina from Bathgate (10 July 2017)

Close to the sea and beach and a good walk along the sea boundary. there is no shop on the site but there is a general store in the village along with a fish and chip shop. the site is tidy and the grounds maintenance staff worked very hard. I didn't use the bar and restaurant so unable to comment on that. there are very large potholes on the road up to the entrance to the site which have to be driven around very carefully.
Bella from Harrogate (07 July 2017)

Brilliant place
Catherine from Bradford (23 June 2017)

Caravan quite basic but ok. Fridge didn't work, frying pan rusty. Issues eventually sorted out after some chasing. Location great. Kids play area great. Overall we had a lovely holiday.
Jonathan from Glossop (15 April 2017)

Beautiful location for a complete break from the 'rat race', a tranquil base to explore the lake district. . we return to this site year after year!
Brennan from Lancashire (17 February 2017)

Lovely place to stay nice surroundings and very peacefull
Damian from Hartlepool (16 September 2016)

Although the site was well maintained there were no facilities for visitors. the ski bar only served food at weekends so to eat out meant a trip to millom. the rspb reserve was brilliant for walks. we stayed for a short 4 day break which was long enough for us. overall we enjoyed our stay but wouldn't return.
Norma from Ormskirk (09 September 2016)

Not much on the site for people to do, although we were out everyday around the lakes at various places. So we just really slept & ate in the caravan! the main little villages were 45-90 mins away. Staff on site were really lovely & helpful
Emma from County Durham (12 August 2016)

Park was nice caravan good but not much to do and beach was not great
Kevan (06 August 2016)

Lovely staff always willing to help. Would go again. The surrounding area is pretty rural for shopping, petrol etc. Phone signal can be an issue, staff willing to help in emergency with this.
Helen from Newtown Powys (29 July 2016)

Had a lovely week. Wish there had been more facilities on site for children. . lack of food services was disappointing and restricted. Food to be available every day would be better. . lovely site in a lovely location
Judith from Oldham (23 July 2016)

A very peaceful place to spend a relaxing holiday.
Susan from Loughborough (23 July 2016)

Really clean and quiet site, caravan was lovely and the staff were very friendly. My only little niggle was paying for expensive wifi that had a patchy connection. I'd definitely go again.
Laura from Durham (11 July 2016)

Despite the inclement weather we had a good break. The staff were very friendly. We were quite surprised how quiet the ski bar was at this time. It will be an improvement when the refurbishments are complete. . perhaps you could have a word withe the local council about filling the potholes at the entrance to the site!
Eileen from East Kilbride (02 July 2016)

We stayed for whitweek with the grandchildren, the caravan was very clean and had everything you needed! we were across from the play area which was brilliant ! a well maintained site , with lots of lovely walking areas! in all a great break away!

Well equipped and comfortable caravan in a lovely location.
Sam from Dwyran (16 May 2016)

We chose this site for the watersports facilities offered only to arrive and discover there was no instructor and it was closed. this meant a boring weekend for 2 teens as there are no other facilities.

It was a lovely base in a beautiful setting. The holiday village has been under some upgrades and looks nice - the new restaurant to come looks interesting. It's just the office hours for reception that need to be longer.

Rachael from Bolton (25 January 2016)

The park is superbly positioned with the best of three worlds, it is located on the shores of a huge fishing lake but a short walk takes you to the sea side where there is a fantastic diversity of sea birds and waders , then there is the lake district just a short drive away. It is not far to the village of haverigg and a five minute drive takes you to the larger town of millom both of which have shops and pubs etc. The staff at the park could not be more friendly and helpful and the lodge itself was superb with far reaching views over the lake and its own veranda where I was able to use my telescope under superb dark skies. My wife and I agreed that we were so comfortable that we could easily live in the lodge. If I have a complaint at all it is that the matress on the double bed was a bit lumby so you might want to take a quilt or something that you can put under the bottom sheet.

Been to haverigg many times and always enjoy our time spent there. Our familiarity with the area, makes it so hard to leave for home. Lots to do, no matter what time of the year we stay.
Graham from Hyde (05 October 2015)

We booked this site because of its location for walking and birdwatching.could not fault it.
Dick from Lincoln (19 September 2015)

Nice and tidy park with freshly tarred roads. They are in the process of building a kids play area and miniature railway. The ski bar is a good place to have a drink with a lovely view over the water. The rspb hide is a pleasant walk from the park and miles of beach are a short walk away.
Joanne from Camberley (25 July 2015)

Nice and tidy park with freshly tarred roads. They are in the process of building a kids play area and miniature railway. The ski bar is a good place to have a drink with a lovely view over the water. The rspb hide is a pleasant walk from the park and miles of beach are a short walk away.

Lovely tidy park in a beautiful area. Very pieceful and relaxing park with some beautiful walks in a lovely area. We used the park as a base to really to be near the beach and the lakes and was not disappointed.

I think that if there was a lot more to do for kids at port haverigg then it would be perfect . although saying that I needed a peaceful holiday and a break so did the kids so we did have a really good time and the staff are very helpful.
Attia from Manchester (29 May 2015)

We were not at all happy with the caravan, broken light fittings, dirty upholstery, mattress on double bed unsleepable on. I had to wash some of the pots before we could use them.it was a shabby 5yr old caravan not worth the money we paid sadly.

We love the site as it is very peaceful . . we don't want to pet caravans - there should be pet free caravans for the non dog lovers

The site and surrounding area was lovely, but the service and accommodation was disappointing. We hired the sunset caravan with a cot, firstly there were dead flies everywhere and there was no cot so I had to call to have one delivered. When it came it was covered in cobwebs and spiders, dead and alive. When I said I wasn't happy putting my baby in there they said it was the only one they had. I did not use this cot in that state. Then there was no electricity, so another call had to be made and someone had to come out. Then there was no hot water! after highlighting this, we were told we'd have to move caravans. In fairness the new caravan was lovely, but it was a lot of hassle. . the staff had just taken over the site and kept saying how much they were spending to improve the place, but their customer service wasn't great and they seemed to be overwhelmed. After telling me to see them before we left for a discount off our next stay, this never materialised as the person who said it to me wasn't working the day we left! it's a shame we had this experience as we visit haverigg and the nearby millom each year to visit family. Unfortunately we will not be staying here again.

The roads are the biggest problem along with no shop for newspapers etc. But nice quiet site with well spaced caravans.
John (06 September 2014)

Been staying at port haverigg village park for over 10 years now, always had a great holiday in a very friendly atmosphere and will continue to holiday here.
Vanessa (29 August 2014)

The caravans were poorly signposted, so ours was hard to find. There were no facilities for the kids, the ski bar was empty and if there was any entertainment we weren't told about it. I never saw members of staff at all. When you went in through the entrance it looked run-down.
Louisa from Bishop Auckland (23 August 2014)

Great if you have no kids, nothing on sight, unless you have a car and willing to travel don't go . water sports available if wanted but nothing else . no pool,no club no shop . very very disappointed
Melanie from Sheffield (22 August 2014)

Ideal for what we wanted.
