Lovely spotless lodge every thing I wanted and more hot tub lovely my parents had a nice quite break they loved it
Angela from Sittingbourne Kent (08 September 2018)

Site was smaller than it looked with only 10 lodges. Lodges were basic but functionable. The lake was full of weeds and looked dirty and the banks of the lake were full of rotting tree stumps, branches & other vegetation. There was not much wildlife to be seen and it was not the pleasant lake side setting I was looking forward to. Spencers grill was ok if you don't mind children running up and down the aisles, screaming and shouting, while you were eating - the black bull was quieter
Roger (07 September 2018)

We stayed last week of aug holidays with 2 children (12 & 7), the lodge was modern and tasteful with everything you needed. The hot tub was well cared for & checked everyday. The check in & out was smooth and all staff helpful. The only thing that could improve it would be somewhere to hang wet towels.
Sarah from Chester (31 August 2018)

Nice lodge and surroundings would be happy to stay again.
Rachel from Leeds (31 August 2018)

Lovely lodge very peaceful the bar gets very busy so we found a lovely pub in walking distance very good meals very reasonable

Fabulous lodge and surroundings. Staff in the bar could be a bit more happy and inviting! no thank yous or goodbyes when we left but everything else was an abouts dream
Adelle from Newcastle (20 July 2018)

The lodge itself was lovely however the double bed needs attention as it's broken and we ended with back pain, otherwise we had a lovely break.
Claire from Barnsley (16 July 2018)

2nd visit, wonderful and peaceful place, excellent restaurant , meat eaters dream, bar prices very fair and good stock of spirits (40 gins) .
Gerry from Livingston ,West Lothian (16 July 2018)

Stewart from Menstrie (16 July 2018)

Highly recommend pickering lodges. lovely location to stay, and we highly recommend spencer’s bar and grill, food was amazing.
Michelle from Dumbarton (09 July 2018)

The lodge we stayed in was very clean on the inside, but it does need updating. Outside could do with some work on. Just clean the cobwebs off and it would be perfect
Deborah from Sheffield (09 July 2018)

Great lodges, very clean and hot tub well looked after and clean. Could do with having somewhere to hang towels. Had a great holiday over all.
Joanne from Glasgow (06 July 2018)

Perfect for a nice relaxing break away to enjoy the slow life. . fantastic lodges . lovely friendly and helpful staff. . spencer’s bar and grill do the best steaks!!
Sarah from Nottingham (02 July 2018)

The lodges were very clean but could have had more cooking utensils and dishes. well situated to pickering. would definitely use again
Sue from Pontefract (02 July 2018)

Great place to stay
Julie from Worksop (29 June 2018)

Lovely area and on a bus route which was a bonus. Lodge was lovely, plenty storage , windows needed cleaning and pots and frying pan were badly scraped, but it didn't spoil our holiday. owners and staff are really nice and friendly and the local wild life was abundant. We used the hot tub even though the temperature was in the 80s and loved it. Spencers restaurant was good and reasonably priced both for meals and drinks. Overall we had a lovely time exploring the area.
Catherine from Methil (29 June 2018)

Chalet was well appointed.lovely situation on the lake, with the resident ducks visiting 2/3 times a day. The food from the restuarant, which we had delivered, was very good.if there was a very small down side, there wasn't anywhere to go for a walk.however that didn't in anyway spoil a very nice and relaxing holiday.will definatley recommend it to friends.
Eileen from Burntisland (25 June 2018)

Great holiday great surrounding
Wendy from Leeds (22 June 2018)

We enjoyed our holiday - the lodge was well stocked and clean, the hot tub was excellent, only problem was the bed.
Julie from Northampton. (15 June 2018)

Beautiful lodges on a picturesque site. Great pub. This was my third holiday here and will definitely be back.
Valerie from Stanley, Co Durham (15 June 2018)

Had a lovely few days away. Thankyou very much x
Emma from Penrith (15 June 2018)

It was a really nice holiday destination. The cabin was clean and tidy. The hot tub and views were amazing. The only issue I had however was that the double bed was a bit on the small side for me and my partner. However I would go here again, as the staff were friendly. Flamingo is a short drive away as is the seaside.
Emma from Leeds (11 June 2018)

We had a fantastic 4 nights (2 adults and 2 kids under 10) here and the lodge is self was extremely well equipped and impeccably tidy. Staff were great, welcoming and very friendly. Decent access to local amenities in pickering and ideally located to explore the surrounding areas such as flamingo land and scarborough. On site pub and play area were great for kids and the hot tub was well maintained. My only criticism was the grass areas were unusable for the children to play on as they were carpeted in a layer of goose poo, I understand there is not much the owners can do about this but it’something to bear in mind if you have little ones who want to play outside.
Garry (08 June 2018)

Great nice break away on good clean site
John (08 June 2018)

A lovely quiet setting with excellent road links to the coast. The staff are very helpful and there is an on site bar/restaurant which is great value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit for a nice relaxing break.
Siobhan (02 June 2018)

Not the most private lodge as it’s nearest to the pub. Kids playing ball games on pub green meant we had them running up to our lodge and decking numerous times when their ball went in the wrong direction. There was a private function on our last afternoon which lasted until 11pm so that didn’t afford us any privacy on our decking at all that day and music was very loud but would be ok if you don’t mind staying up late on your hols
Lisa from Co Durham (01 June 2018)

We stayed in lodge 7. Lovely relaxing break. Lodge had everything you would need. Nice luxuries such as reclining furniture, large veranda with comfy outdoor furniture and even a private little ‘garden’ for children to play in.
Joanne from Hull (01 June 2018)

Happy with the facilities provided etc. . . only problem I had was going into the bar, the music was so loud I couldn’t have spent mire than 10 minutes in there. The playlist had music with swearing in too so I would have that checked given that children are allowed. . private party was very loud on the thursday night which went on quite late into the night, it was a choice between window open and noise or window shut and sweat.. . other than this all good.
Andrew from Thornaby (01 June 2018)

Fantastic lodge, modern, and clean.. area fantastic so much to do.. on site restaurant and bar fab.. just need to replace a few light bulbs
Michelle from West Yorkshire (28 May 2018)

Had a great, relaxing, long weekend. The accommodation was perfect. The food at the restaurant was very good.
Sean from Lincoln (28 May 2018)

We had a lovely week although the bed was so low it was difficult to get in and out but I understand it is being replaced. We also felt that there wasn't enough utensils etc to cook a meal especially if there were 6 people staying there. The food delivery from the bar was excellent and very good value for money would certainly return.
Melanie from Lichfield (26 May 2018)

A great place to stay for visiting north yorkshire moors.
David from Leeds (25 May 2018)

Had wonderful time despite indifferent weather
Pat from Garforth (25 May 2018)

Brilliant lodges been about 5 times will be returning would recommend .very near pickering and got situation for visiting whitby helmsley ect.staff lovely and spencers bar /resturaunt food good prices reasonable .
Lorraine from Bolton (25 May 2018)

Absolutely loved it here. The cropton lodge was perfect for 2, good location, restaurant food was amazing (they even do takeaway delivered to your lodge which was brilliant) and the and staff are super friendly! I will definitely be going back.
Holly from Tamworth (21 May 2018)

A lovely quiet site well sited
Susan from Spalding (18 May 2018)

Lovely setting with views over the lake, large hot tub, friendly staff.
Heather from Lincoln (18 May 2018)

Myself and my wife have been twice and have just booked our third stay for september. Love the lodge, love the hot tub, love spencer's bar, the food is fab and great value for money and they even deliver to your lodge, on a plate!! love craig and marie (he's not grumpy, he's deaf! lol!) the only thing I don't like is going home.
Andrew from Rhyl (18 May 2018)

Beautiful place. Very friendly and clean, however I would advise to book your table for meals etc as we werent able to eat in the restaurant one night due to it being fully booked. But the delivery of food was brilliant. Really enjoyed it will definatly return in the future
Natalie from Hartlepool (14 May 2018)

We had a fab time at pickering lodges. Its a very relaxing place right near a lake where were geese and ducks. Theres a bar/restaurant on site that serve takeout food too and a great play area for kids.
Elaine from Bishop Auckland (14 May 2018)

Lovely lodges. Great location and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend
Sue from Huddersfield (30 April 2018)

Fantastic weekend
Shirley (30 April 2018)

Great weekend away, beautiful location with lovely views. The lodge was clean and tidy and the owner was pleasant and helpful. The only downside was no freezer so warm cocktails it was.
Lorna from East Yorkshire (23 April 2018)

Second time we have been love this lodge took our kids this time and they loved the whole 3 days will be booking again
Melanie (23 April 2018)

Excellent 4 day break here. Lodge was lovely and clean. Staff very welcoming and helpful. useful things to know - items provided include 1 toilet roll in each bathroom, washing up liquid and tea towel and a spare bin bag. A welcome basket with teabags, coffee, sugar, mini breakfast cereals and other mini goodies provided. . bedrooms lovely with lots of storage for clothes. Wifi recently installed in the lodges. And if you have older children you can borrow an xbox or playstation and a couple of games for a refundable deposit. . we took extra towels for the hot tub. The owners have clearly listened to previous reviews as our lodge (newton dale) had a clothes airer which was useful for drying swimming gear. . hot tub was a massive hit with both adults and children and what attracted us to book. . location is lovely, quiet and peaceful. We were lucky with the excellent weather and was able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. . handy bar/restaurant on site with very good drink prices. Toys and games inside for children who are very welcome. You can opt to have food delivered to your lodge if you wish. At the end of the track there is a pub serving huge portions of food! pickering is a few minutes drive and is a lovely village with shops, cafes and takeaways. We had an excellent break and we didn’t want to leave. We hope to come back as yorkshire and the places we visited - pickering, dalby forest, whitby and scarborough were lovely.

We had a great time over the easter weekend, weather was atrocious but the jacuzzi and gas fire made up for that. We enjoyed the location and spencer’s bar is everything you need for a pint and some food, the only feedback we had regarding improvement would be around the lake, we found that it is looking a bit more like a swamp, but with some love and attention it could be a great focal point from the jacuzzis that face it, some light in the trees so when you sipping that glass of vino at the end of the day you’ve got a nice canvas to look over, other than this we would happily come and visit again, although remember to empty your bins as you leave or the self proclaimed bin police are likely to send you back to do it lol

We stayed in the thornton or dale lodge which was a really snug lodge. Unfortunately though there was not one towel rail or anything of the sort to hang your wet towels or dressing gowns or swimwear up. This meant hanging these on doors or wardrobes which just looked a mess. . the staff were lovely though and would definitely return. Just need to address the issue I have mentioned.
Mark from Leeds (05 March 2018)

Made to feel very much at home , staff very friendly & really efficient + great location overlooking lake ,will deffo be back .
Jeff from Sheffield (05 March 2018)

The lodge itself was lovely however upon arriving we were told they had lost the key and we had to sleep with the door unlocked with 2 children. . the maintenrnencd guy at the lodge kept retuning again and again throughout the day towards the end we felt he was really invading our privacy. We had children and did not want the maintenance turning up 7 or 8 times a day I have been in many lodges and we have never had such an intrusive member of staff knocking on the door when he could see we were eating a meal we left early because of him. I would not reccomend this simply because of that guy. . he really ruined our weekend and made my children feel very uncomfortable.

The lodge was lovely very warm and cosy .hot tub amazing.. you need an nvq to use the microwave.. we couldnt fathom it out and we couldnt get the gas fire started which wasnt a problem cos it was warm in the lodge anyway even tho it was -5 degrees outside.. it was nice to sit and watch kingfishers happily fishing all day long from the comfort of the leather settee ..

Made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived , and were able to go straight to the lodge even though we were early. . we had some pastries and fruit cider waiting on the table , the lodge was warm and so clean ! . fluffy robes and towels were lovely , hot tub was cleaned daily. Spencer’s bar was such good value and the food was great. . had a fantastic stay , would definitely book again and have been recommending to family and friends. Can’t fault anything !. will be back

My wife and I enjoyed a 4 night break here in january for her birthday and we absolutely loved it. We make a point of having a hot tub lodge holiday every january and we have seen some lovely lodges and not so good ones but I must say this was up there with the best of them. Lovely relaxed setting overlooking the lake. We cam for some r&r and certainly found it here. Spencers bar and grill a lovely place to eat and drink and the staff couldn't do enough for you. . definitely be back!. . thanks . . graeme and natalie

The location is ideal and the staff are really friendly. The lodges are lovely and the area around the hot tubs are really private. The on-site bar/restaurant is really nice and good value
Emma from Lincoln (15 January 2018)

We had a great weekend and the lodge was exactly what we booked. The location was very central so we could go out for the day and return back to a fab hot tub and a great meal at the spencer bar grill. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great time definitely recommend.

Third time we have stayed here now and already booked for next new year, I honestly don’t think there is anywhere better. Lodges are fantastic and immaculately clean and fitted out to the highest standard, hot tubs even better and superbly maintained and spensers bar very welcoming and great value for money. The new year’s eve party was fantastic and thanks to marie and her team for squeezing us in last minute kids loved it and the fireworks were amazing. Really can’t wait to spend next new year here. Keep up the good work!

Lovely stay at a really nice pet friendly lodge. The only issue was, prior to booking I had pointed out that one member of our family was in a wheelchair and had mobility issues. I was told that there was a couple of small steps to negotiate to get in to the lodge. In reality it was 3 very large steps. There was no ramp (portable or otherwise) available so this resulted in us having to life our disabled family member as they were incapable of negotiating these herself.

Had a nice few days away at this site and used it to get out and about in yorkshire. the site was good with a great place to eat and drink; spencer's bar and grill. the food was very good and they will even deliver to your lodge or let you take your food back all plated up! the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and I would certainly recommend this site to those who need a flat site with good disabled access to the lodges. the lodge was well appointed though it could have benefitted from some extras in the kitchen such as a sieve, cheese grater, measuring jug and a cafetiere. these were minor issues in an otherwise great lodge with a great hot tub.

We stopped in the newton dale lodge which consisted of a living room/dining and kitchen area. There were 1 double room and 2 twin rooms. All decor up to date and very clean. Not scrimped on the appliances etc. The fire was smeg and the crockery were john lewis so all lovely quality. We took bits like tea towels, washing up liquid but there was some there when we arrived so if you do forget anything your ok. Only thing we did forget to take was bin liners and there was none so we had to nip out but that wasn’t a problem at all. . all in all lovely lodge and very cosey come the cold nights. . . our party was 4 adults and 2 infants under 1 years of age.
Kelly from Barnsley (06 November 2017)

We had a lovley relaxing time but they need to smarten place up, its unkept & everything looks unfinished. Interior looking worn with carpet coming away from grippers no dustpan & brush. Very few cooking utensills. Lodge was clean & comfortable & the positives outweigh the negatives

Fantastic lodge and hot tub. Owners very helpful and friendly
Katie (03 November 2017)

I've stayed on this park previously and I had found the accommodation contained all that was needed for a perfect holiday, but the accommodation we have just stayed in felt unfinished and poorly laid out with lack of information on the lodge . a little more attention to detail would ensure this park would receive 10 out 10 from all .we will return again but not to the same accommodation.
Lee from Denbigh (03 November 2017)

The lodge was well equipped and clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our break and would highly recommend these lodges
