Loved it here ,,, would definitely go back ,
Julie from Wrexham (09 September 2018)

Beautiful picturesque setting, lodges were really high quality with everything you could need apart from food and drink. Hot tub top class, bbq to use included, good parking and grounds lovely to walk around. would recommend as ideal place to go for a relaxing weekend or a base to go out and do more adventurous stuff. Gllangollan has a couple of supermarkets you can do your shopping at (aldi - keep the cost down :) )
Andrew from Bolton (03 September 2018)

Amazing
Samantha (02 September 2018)

Loved it went last year as well getting to expensive now but loved it
Tina (31 August 2018)

We upgraded to accommodate an extra grandchild and benefitted from the extra space. The lodges are superior and the only negative was no hot tub, but that was because one was not available. The local town is really quaint but extra ordinarily busy traffic wise, although we always found car park spaces. We took a trip on the steam engine, however our grandchildren 2ys & 4yrs were not as enamoured as we were and therefore not a recommendation for small children. The local national trust properties (chirk, errdig)were excellent in providing children's activities. Not many places to have a meal- we tried the two local pub/restaurants and found the service at one excellent but both lacking in good quality meals. The pool was a welcome activity although the playground could be expanded. Beautiful setting and lovely to see the sheep grazing outside the lodge from time to time.
Trisha from London (17 August 2018)

Thought the kids park could have been bigger for them to play.
Wendy from Lincoln (17 August 2018)

Lovely location, setting and scenery beautiful. Lady very helpful when we had a problem with the wi-fi. Swimming pool a big + for the kids and also the hot tub of course. This was the only 4 bedroom lodge to accommodate our family that was close enough for us to travel with a baby, we were not disappointed. Whilst not luxurious in it's furnishings it is more than comfortable for a large family group. The only recommendation we would make is for there to be a folder available in the lodge giving you information on whats available in the local area eg activities, places to visit, where to eat, things for kids etc etc. Overall would highly recommend birches lodge vip.
Mark from Hartford (27 July 2018)

We stayed for a long weekend. Beautiful surroundings and a large lovely lodge with all facilities. The only criticism I have is that it was supposed to have a wood burner but it was missing, even though the tiled hearth was still there. Fortunately the weather was great so we didnt need it. Apart from that we all enjoyed our say. The staff were great and welcoming. . would love to say again in the future.
Amanda from Accrington (16 July 2018)

Beautiful lodges nice quiet location. town centre 10 minutes away with plenty of shops. . lodge clean and in good condition stayed in vip pet with hot tub thats checked by staff every morning. you wouldnt know pets stayed in lodge aa very clean. . . only negative tv a bit small for size of room. free wifi a huge plus for younger family members. . lovely welcome package tea coffee dishwasher tablets washing up liquid sponge biscuits etc and toiletries in each bathroom and towels. . would definitely recommend
Eleanor from Doncaster (13 July 2018)

Julie from Derby (25 June 2018)

Beautiful place, if you are looking for a nice quiet place to stay in amongst the wildlife.. you cannot get much better in the uk. The cliff/mountain side walk is stunning. We had two dogs and the decking area at the lodge was secure so they could run about without worry. . would recommend.
Chris from Swindon, Wiltshre (22 June 2018)

Excellent property with everything you need, perfect place to relax & unwind. We've already booked to go back!!
Laura from Cheshire (11 June 2018)

Had a wonderful break with our children (aged from 16 to 27). lodge catered perfectly for our needs and provided everything you'd expect and more. Beautiful site but we only had a short break with a full itinerary so we didn't get to explore or use the sites facilities. would definitely return for a longer break if we can get all the family together again.
Yvette from Taunton (28 May 2018)

This site served us perfectly for our 5 day stay. Nice and quiet site and the lodge was perfect. Near enough to local town and other facilities for food drink and shopping. Lovely walks near by to the town and canal and hillsides.
Mark from Stonehouse (25 May 2018)

Wow what can I say, this is by far the best lodge we have stayed in. We stayed in saltspring lodge. We had a fabulous time, loved the wood-burner and hot tub. The staff were amazing. We had a slight issue with the cooker and the manager on site was extremely helpful and went out of his way to get things sorted and make sure our stay was a good one. I can't recommend graham enough and would give this play more than 10 out of 10 if I could. Best hoseasons park by far. Can't wait to visit again.
Emma from Banbury (16 April 2018)

Wow is all I can say. Stayed for 3 nights 4 adults 4 children. Had such an amazing time. Everything we needed was available in our lodge and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. So clean bed linen smelt gorgeous. Fully equipped kitchen and even a washing machine ironing board hair dryer toaster microwave etc literally everything you need is here. The views are amazing and the town is so beautiful. The surroundings are just beautiful. Indoor pool which the children loved. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to come to wales and would certainly come again in the near future. Next time we would go for the hot tub too! thanks again

We loved it here! it was peaceful and birch vip lodge was lovely, immaculate and hot tub very nice. Pool on site was quiet and very adequate and we enjoyed using it. We would definitely come back here 100%. there are shops, a tesco supermarket within 15 mins drive . it is better to support local businesses and buy produce from local llangollen town shops as it helps to keep beautiful places like this as it is.

We had a lovely stay at penvale lake lodges and would defiantly go back. Lovely clean cottage, fabulous views and the hot tub was perfect. Only thing I would have liked was wifi access at the cottage, however we knew the cottage had no interest access before we went so in no way did this spoil our trip.

Lovely relaxing holiday with friends and our children. All four girls loved the site and really want to go back. Great for their bikes and they loved the pool and hot tub.
Natasha from Stafford (27 October 2017)

Great location, nestled a small way off the horseshoe pass road. very quiet park with very well spaced out lodges (we didn't see anyone else during our stay!). lovely 50minute walk along footpath and then canal into llangollen. we hadn't been to the area before and were really impressed. very easy to get to as only just into wales but beautiful countryside on the edge of snowdonia. lots to do in the area: great walks direct from lodge; plenty of castles; river dee & horseshoe falls (pretty spectacular when we were there as very full after storms); heritage railway; nice pubs etc. llangollen itself is small & friendly town with plenty of cafes, pubs and gift shops (corn mill is great pub with terrace right over river). we will definitely return as such a lovely area. recommend britannia inn for pub food in evening (3 mins drive from park, walkable in summer I guess but not good walk on winter's evening as on road with no path).

There were 4 of us staying in a lodge at penvale lakes (birches lodge vip) in october 2017 for a week (mon-fri). the lodge was modern and very spacious, and the open plan living/dining/kitchen area made it great for us to all socialize. We loved having the log burner, and the hot tub was amazing (we used it every day). . the site is located in beautiful surroundings and the lodges are situated around a number of small lakes. It was very peaceful and the lodges were spread out enough that it felt very private when in your own accommodation. . the facilities on site included a gym, and an indoor heated pool which was a descent size. The staff were very friendly and good at recommending activities/places to visit locally. We would recommend this site to anybody 100%, whether in a small group, or a large family. We will definitely be returning!!

If you are looking for solitude, back to nature, nothing to do but walk and cycle, this one is for you. I should have read between the lines but this is certainly my idea of true boredom. do not be taken in by the tag vip and facilities on this site - there is nothing vip about it. its has a very small pool open between 10 and 4pm. a small climbing frame. "gym" equates to 3 pieces of equipment in a tiny closet room. lakes is a grand name for s big ponds. we took our canoe but not a hope, these should not be called lakes, but penvale ponds but it doesn't have quite the same ring to it!! the lodge itself had seen better days and needed some work......rotten decking with a very leaning hot tub - quite dangerously so. chairs with stuffing hanging out, a shared shower strip, so bathrooms didn't flood, coupled with the most uncomfortable beds ever (they say double but I would argue that point and say 4ft not 4ft 6) . we booked for 7 days and left after 5 (would have been 3 days if id had my way) not a site I would ever entertain again
Jo from Bath (14 August 2017)

Fantastic location,it was a last minute booking & it didn't disappoint us.highly recommend this site, beautiful surroundings, great place to have a holiday break.
Simon (11 August 2017)

Lovely setting and super big lodge with great hot tub. Just a bit tired though with decking in poor condition and internal paintwork in need of refreshing.
Viv from Staffordshire (04 August 2017)

Great location in lovely surroundings, good family holiday with local walks & attractions,
Thomas from Liverpool (04 August 2017)

Lovely location and a very clean well kept accomodation.
Jayesh from Stoke On Trent (21 July 2017)

The location of the lodges are very peaceful and the staff on site very helpful. if you want a nice relaxing stay in comfort then choose this location. easy access to llangollen and surrounding area. we enjoyed the lodge and its creature comforts as well as the bbq and hot tub. we also paid a visit to the swimming pool which although not too small was ideal for just me and my son. we enjoyed our stay plus there is easy access from the site to local walks and a pub/hotel at the top of the hill.
Ken from York (21 July 2017)

Fantastic pool could stay open abit longer
Jennifer from Enniskillen (17 July 2017)

Positives; large accommodation, quiet spot, nice places locally to visit, good little town on the doorstep well geared up for the tourist market (steam trains, canal boats all local), a pleasant place to spend a few days. . negatives; as others have said, the place needs a refurb, decor's looking a bit tatty. The downside of being in a wooded area is the amount of flys buzzing round your face in the hot tub.
Daniel from Petersfiield (10 July 2017)

Very pleasant setting, good facilities and excellent log cabin.
Michael (07 July 2017)

While we would stay again , the lodges need some money spent on them to spruce them back to their formal glory. There are many repairs which need to be completed and once this work is finished we wouldn't hesitate to return. . . the location and surrounding area cannot be faulted and is lovely. . until the lodges are addressed we could not recommend this to our friends.
Kerrie (03 July 2017)

It was a lovely lodge with great facilities, but one of the rooms was a bunk bed, which I didn't think had been particularly clearly outlined. In addition, there was very little provision for waste and bins. The main bins were at the other end of the resort and there was nowhere for us to easily recycle at the lodge and no bin bags were provided. For 8 people this is unhelpful.
Charley (03 July 2017)

Fabulous stay- loved everything about it!
Hilary (19 June 2017)

We had a fabulous week with family celebrating our 30th anniversary. The lodge, scenery & hot tub were all first class. Would highly recommend.
Janet from Chester (09 June 2017)

Lovely clean lodge and hot tub,all ready for when we arrived. Very good facilities in the lodge, made use of the washing machine . well kept area around our lodge, very peacefull. Would have liked the pool to have stayed open after 4 o'clock.
Bridget from Briston (03 June 2017)

Fantastic stay at penvale lakes lodges! great location for exploring north wales, particularly snowdonia. 5 minutes from llangollen itself. Can't wait to go back.
Katie from Swansea (29 May 2017)

Lovely quiet and relaxing holiday. Great for my grandsons age 1 and 3
Julie from Liverpool (26 May 2017)

A lovely spacious lounge with modern fittings, overlooking a lake, very quiet and relaxing . lodge no: 3 was suitable for our wheelchair and the dog loved it. . the staff were very friendly and accommodating. . would recommend it to any one that wants nature and doesn't want on site entertainment.
Christina from Stafford (26 May 2017)

Brilluant weekend retreat
Stephen from Manchester (22 May 2017)

Great holiday, amazing staff but the lodge itself was tired looking and needed updating, especially the kitchen and fridge/freezer. The swimming pool was good but the area surrounding it (greenhouse type) was filthy. Overall though we loved our stay.
Gilly from Manchester (19 May 2017)

I have to say penvale lakes lodges absolutely blew us away. From the minute we got there the staff (graham & the hot tub lady, sorry I forgot your name) went out their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. . location: . we stopped in lodge no. 6 which in my opinion was the best one, due to the fact it over looked the lake. The floor to ceiling windows made it even better to watch the local wildlife herons, squirrels, fish jumping from the lake and many more. . talking of squirrels we had a few that joined us for breakfast each morning. Lol . . lodge: the facilities are second to none, proper cooker, fridge, dishwasher & even a washing machine. . outside: . webber bbq, large decking area with large table and seating for 8. Then there is the huge hot tub which easily takes 6 people . . all in all I would go back in a heartbeat.. hoseasons you have gained 8 new customers, well done!!
Kim from Telford (15 May 2017)

Absolutely amazing place, great views and helpful staff.
Natalia from Prenton (15 May 2017)

Stunning just wish thier wasn't a time restriction on pool access and maybe extension of a playground for the children otherwise amazing
Claire (12 May 2017)

Lovely lodge, expensive but nice. Only recommendation would be to provide coal for a bbq or at least sell some and put a gate at the side of the lodges for kids and dig safety.
Elizabeth from Bebington (12 May 2017)

Lovely relaxing break. Spacious, well equipped and clean lodges with lovely ambience. Some areas looking a bit tired inside but generally well appointed
Helen (08 May 2017)

Had an amazing weekend away, stayed in the cottage which was beautiful only thing lacking was wifi. Would be nice touch to maybe have a few children's toys but not esssntial. The swimming pool area was a little bit tired and floor very dirty but temperature warm. Overall fantastic stay and can't wait to go again.
Laura from Runcorn (08 May 2017)
