We have been visiting these lodges for the last 10 years, staying at many of the cabins, sometimes with our dog too (the dog friendly cabins are very clean and fresh also) . we visit out of season with our friends for a long weekend. Our aim when we come is to relax after a busy year, so we don’t normally leave the lodge much. The kids can go out and explore and we know that they are safe. We do the annual walk along the canal to the nearby village to the tea shop for cake (yum!) . the lodges are very roomy (8 of us easily share the crows nest without getting under each other’s feet) . the last couple of years we have visited the weekend before christmas and have had our own early christmas, as the 2 families don’t get to see each other otherwise over the festive period. . we easily cook a christmas dinner with the equipment and facilities provided. . the cabins are a little dated furniture-wise but to us, that adds to the charm as it makes it extremely cosy. . we love coming here - it’s our happy place.
Cheryl from Dudley (18 December 2017)

Great break away.
Michael from Buckley (05 December 2017)

Beautiful location and very friendly people. To be honest the cabin was a bit tired looking but nevertheless very comfortable.
Michael (01 December 2017)

Lovely,clean and rather spacious
Tammy from Mid Glamorgan (01 December 2017)

Spent 4 nights away towards the end of november and it was great. Located far enough away from anything to feel relaxed and peaceful, yet close enough to towns/bars to not feel isolated. Perfect.
Chris from Wem (01 December 2017)

Generally a nice secluded spot with lots of wildlife to see and was very relaxing. . . duvet and bed sheet had stains on them otherwise the place was generally equipped and clean.
Kelly from Wrexham (30 November 2017)

Excellent surroundings very quiet, hot tub was immaculate. The lodge was very clean although very dark and in need of updating and modenising .
Peter from Biddulph (30 November 2017)

The beds in the lodge were the most uncomfortable we have ever encountered. To be able to sleep we had to pad the mattress in one of the double rooms with all the duvets from the other beds, however there was nothing we could do with the pillows. The beds and bedding need replacing, you could feel the springs sticking into you from the mattress. The lodge was basic and definitely in need of updating.
Sharon from Nottingham (24 November 2017)

We had such a lovely time the staff went above and beyond to help us and were always so lovely. The lodge was beautiful as well as the surroundings. Would defiantly recommend to anyone looking to get away from everything and just take a quite relaxing break.
Cheyenne from Northampton (23 November 2017)

We really enjoyed our stay. There wasn't an awful lot to do at the site, however we came to go out and walk about so I suppose that suited us fine.
Joanne from Hemel Hempstead (19 November 2017)

It is a lovely location. each lodge is set a distance apart so it feels very private. . we found it really relaxing and have visited twice this year. . welshpool and newtown are both within an easy drive.
Julie from Tamworth (13 November 2017)

Had a wonderful weekend here. Very quiet - just what we wanted. Close enough to welshpool for things we needed. Some of the hills on site stretched the legs a little, but could also take a walk along the canal for more even terrain. Would recommend a decent torch as the site is in darkness at night (which was actually nice and gave the feeling of being away from things for a while). have booked up to revisit next year.
Wayne from Walsall (12 November 2017)

Amazing place - loved every minute!!
Tom from Mitcheldean, Glos (12 November 2017)

The lodge was lovely, the hot tub delightful could have done with a little brighter lighting other than that we had a wonderful relaxing break and the squirrels were amazing to watch. We have booked again for next summer.
Irene from Cupar Fife (09 November 2017)

Beautiful location, sadly lodge was very tired. Smelt like a charity shop, mouldy in base of showers, shower heads not very powerful, spare room shower head leaked from hose, very dated kitchen , old worn carpets . small hot tub and very exposed could do with higher fencing for privacy especially as you are directly on footpath with passers by looking directly at you . have stayed in many lodges and this one was rather disappointing. Such a shame as location is stunning. Rather upsetting to see so many sheep limping and lame in the field below , especially if you are an animal lover ! if lodges were updated I would go back.
James from Essex (06 November 2017)

Another brilliant holiday in penllwyn lodges. . will book again in 2018
Angela from Redditch (06 November 2017)

We really enjoyed our stay which we booked at the last minute. The lodge was bigger and better equipped than I expected and the area was lovely with lots to see locally . would have liked one with a hot tub but ours didn't have this .
Sally from Get Manchester (05 November 2017)

Perfect from start to finish.
Kerry (05 November 2017)

Very comfortable but you could do to get bigger sheets on the beds as they kept coming of while you slept.
Iain from Preston (03 November 2017)

Fantastic holiday beautiful place been here three times now really relaxing and enjoyable holiday and lovely hot tub
Tracy (03 November 2017)

Lovely location, very peaceful and enjoyable
Lisa from Bilston (31 October 2017)

Lovely long weekend break in beautiful relaxing woodland
Julie from Burmingham (30 October 2017)

Lovely place to stay and would definitely recommend. Not much to do in the area but it is ideal for relaxing
Nicola from Liverpool (30 October 2017)

Love our annual visit to the lodges
Neil from Telford (27 October 2017)

Excellent lodge with amazing views. . perfect for a chill out holiday. . golf course does lovely food and great service. Not on a lot on site but depends what you are after
Kerry from Stole On Trent (27 October 2017)

Excellent location, the lodge has everything you need and more. My only comment is it could do with a little money being spent on it now, the crows nest was a bit tired but all in all a great lodge and excellent staff.
Zoe (27 October 2017)

What a wonderful place, it was so peaceful and just what me needed. The staff were fantastic and we enjoyed it so much we booked again before we came away to go back again in march. It is a place to go and recharge our batteries.
Rose from Kidderminster (20 October 2017)

Lovely all round but would it be possible for better lighting ?. because of the time of year we snuggled down to read late in the afternoon and found it impossible to see well enough. Apart from that it was perfect
Janet from Stourport (20 October 2017)

Amazing holiday, amazing location, amazing everything can’t wait to go again
Caroline from Telford (16 October 2017)

Absolutely amazing little get away!

Deryk (30 September 2017)

Fantastic location and friendly staff.
Marc from Wimborne (29 September 2017)

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in relaxing & beautiful surroundings.
Louise (24 September 2017)

Excellent, could not wish for better
Nicholas from Weymouth (22 September 2017)

A gorgeous place. Peaceful & relaxing. A lovely log cabin with views over the fields.
Veronica from Erith (19 September 2017)

The lodges were lovely and the location was beautiful. There is steep hills leading up to the lodges, so may be difficult for some people to walk up but the road goes right up to each lodge.
Adam (17 September 2017)

Enjoyable & relaxing break in great location. Booked through a last minute deal at reduced rate but wouldn't have booked at normal tariff rates as not as competitive as other places. Our lodge was one without hot tub which wasn't an issue but would be better if all the lodges had hot tub facilities as a point of difference for the park.
Dl from Blackburn (15 September 2017)

Nice location, no area for off lead for dog
Lucille from Liverpool (08 September 2017)

Wonderful
Andrew from Dudley (29 August 2017)

Nice surroundings but felt the lodge in as a bit too dark
Kris (28 August 2017)

Pleasant area. Lodge was clean and basic. Noise was an issue between upstairs living area and downstairs bedrooms. Bathroom and ensuite needs refreshing. Loved the patio area. Views from window wasn't as expected - too many trees.
Terence from Preston (26 August 2017)

Lovely location and staff were very friendly and helpful. Lodge was clean and comfortable. Would go again.
Elizabeth (26 August 2017)

Absolutely loved the lodge and the hot tub it was the best 4 days ever. The duvet, pillows and glassware could do with some tlc. Also as we were on a slope it was very sloppy and our car kept rolling so we had to park elsewhere.
Emma from Manchester (25 August 2017)

Being our first time to wales, we had a wonderful holiday
Graham from Brentwood (19 August 2017)

Lovely location but lodge in need of updating
Elizabeth (19 August 2017)

Very pretty park.cabin up high in the woods.very spacious cabin with everything you needed.lots of birds and squirrels. Only downside was the noise from the road.
Deana from Ramsgate (19 August 2017)

We had a fantastic, relaxing & fun break & would certainly recommend this place (& return again)
Karen from Bolton (19 August 2017)

Stayed for a few nights, paid extra for the hot tub, even my husband went in it .lots to see and do in the area great for kids. Had an amazing time, visited shrewsbury, used the park and ride.
Susan (14 August 2017)

Brilliant place to stay. Lovely lodge, clean and welcoming upon arrival. Very friendly staff in the reception office. Lodges are positioned well so that you feel a sense of privacy. Would definitely visit again, everyone loved staying there.
Kirsty from Ipswich (14 August 2017)

Great views across golf course and countryside, walking by canal or golf course from lodges with montgomery, newtown and welshpool handy for shopping, eating, entertainment or further walks and things to do.
Michael from Nottingham (11 August 2017)

This was the first time that we had stayed at penllwyn lodges, we had everything that we needed in the lodge. It was a wonderful holiday.
Beverley from Leicester (07 August 2017)

Fantastic place to stay, the lodge was waiting for us with the lights on and hot tub ready to go. . . staff were amazing and very helpful. . . recommend to many friends already. Looking forward to staying again.
Marcus from Salisbury (30 July 2017)

The accommodation is of a very high standard, is clean and modern, the site is quiet and in a beautiful setting, the staff were very welcoming, helpful and nothing was too much to ask. If you want a relaxing break in lovely surroundings you cant go far wrong with penllwyn lodges.
David from Bristol (29 July 2017)

Our 12th time back at penllwyn and still loving it as much as ever. It's the perfect quiet retreat to recharge your batteries with long walks by the canal, the native wildlife and idyllic setting.
Wayne from Ely (28 July 2017)

We all had a fantastic holiday at penllwyn lodges and will definitely be staying there again!
Dawn from Hereford (28 July 2017)

I loved it , kids loved it we will definitely come again !
Natalie from Luton (27 July 2017)

We had a great stay at penllywn. the woodland setting is tranquil and the landscaped garden/lake area is very pretty and beautifully kept. I noticed other reviewers commenting on noisy neighbours but they must have been extremely unlucky. we were there in the first week of school holidays and it was silent, despite most other lodges being occupied. my only comment really is that the lodge itself was a little dated. the beds were really quite uncomfortable and the two showers were both fairly poor. the outdoor furniture could also do with refreshing. we walked via the golf course to the lakeside restaurant and weren't sure how welcome we would be with none of us being golfers however they could not have been friendlier. the food portions were enormous and they were very accommodating to the four young children in our group.
Lucy (26 July 2017)

Lovely break, very scenic and quite on the campsite, cabins are well spread out in the forest , great views and wildlife. Ideal base for exploring wales.
Ken from Coventry (19 July 2017)

Relaxing, comfortable and value for money
Jeffrey from Stafford (08 July 2017)

Great woodland setting very quite and relaxing, the accommodation is very tired but could easily be improved. The walls are paper thin so if you don't all go to bed at the same time it is noisy. The hot tub was great to come back to in the evening. Would highly recommend the golf course club house for a meal and drink, booking advisable. We had a small problem with the accommodation but the staff were absolutely professional and fantastic and it was rectified promptly. We would not return as we missed having some facilities you get on parks and the location in wales was not right for us. But we did have a very nice relaxing time so glad we tried it.
Kristie from Northampton (08 July 2017)

The lodges are lovely, very individual in design and very helpful and friendly staff
Margaret from Hull (07 July 2017)

We had a nice time ,but grandaughter got stuck in bathroom due to a broken lock on door [repaired while we were out]. did not use microwave because it was so rusty inside.
Janet from Wrexham (27 June 2017)

Had a lovely time in the hawthorn vip. Cabin abit dated but everything there that was needed, spacious and had an amazing time with friends. Location is stunning and peaceful, in the middle of trees with a view of mountains. Left to do our own thing and enjoy our time there. Would 100% recommend and book this cabin in the future.
Kerys from Pontypool (27 June 2017)

Lovely place to visit I would definitely go again so peaceful
Roxanne from Mossley (04 June 2017)

A very spacious, clean and well laid out lodge. Excellent location in easy reach of shops and places of interest. local eateries serve great, reasonable priced food with large portions. The place is quiet and relaxing. Ideal for 1 person or group booking.
Michael from Hazel Grove (31 May 2017)

Lodge not clean, covered in dust. Staff accused us for leaving a dog mess although we don't have a dog!!!! surroundings were beautiful.
Jayne (30 May 2017)

Never again, tired, dated and noisy
Mandy (29 May 2017)

Fantastic place so tranquil and relaxing
Theresa from Stoke On Trent (27 May 2017)

Loved staying here for the second time will defo book again
Lindsey from Wigan (19 May 2017)

Been before and will come again
Chris from Londo N (19 May 2017)

A very pleasant stay, changed lodges only due to height and location of the lodge, but staff were more than happy to change you around which was great, lovely location and views, well looked after site and lodges, great!
Gregory from High Wycombe (12 May 2017)

Excellent location, and able to take dogs a bonus, only thing would be nice to have lamps in lounge area rather than full lights as I like dimmed lighting , I would staybagain but with a hot tub .
Pauline from Powys (08 May 2017)

Me and my partner spent a weekend here and it was amazing. beautiful scenery !
Janine (07 May 2017)

We stayed in the captain's cabin and it was lovely! highly recommended for larger parties. we stayed with 7 people and it was plenty of room. very clean and all the conveniences you could need. beautiful location too.
Belinda from Nottingham (01 May 2017)

We had a very enjoyable weekend. the weather was favorable so the children were able to run free and enjoy all the nature and surroundings. would visit again.
Joanne from Staffordshire (01 May 2017)

Excellent location and best uk holiday I have been on. . everywhere was really dog friendly. The cabin and hot tub were amazing and will definitely be back.

Brillant family break, thank you for a excellent break.
Gary from Wallasey (15 April 2017)

We had a lovely holiday but we love walking and exploring. But due to location we couldnt just walk . we had to drive. Lodge was very nice.
Lee from Poole (14 April 2017)

Amazing setting and lodge, hot tub is amazing but the surrounding villages don't seem to have much to offer
Teresa from Forest Of Deab (14 April 2017)

I have visited this lodge park more than 4 times and I love the place. My only reservation is the price at peak times (ie almost anytime during school holidays). at peak times it is virtually as costly to go abroad. Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The place is beautiful and will visit again but maybe not at peak times. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!
Hussain (07 April 2017)

We had a lovely peaceful relaxing stay with plenty of walks with our two dogs. Beautiful scenery in a lovely location. Everywhere is dog friendly is you have pets withyou. Will definitely go back and stay again.
Cheryl from Ellesmere Port (07 April 2017)

Lovely break. Value for money. Very clean. If you arrive in the dark take a torch and drive carefully into the woods as it is very steep. Otherwise perfect.
Michelle from North Wales (27 March 2017)

I have a lovely time relaxing with my family and I will return anytime soon.
Nurudeen from Manchester (27 March 2017)

Fantastic.
Arthur from Liverpool (27 March 2017)

Out of this world.
Mohammed from Slough (27 March 2017)

Our third stay at penllwny lodges , always more than satisfied, well pleased , will be back.
Robert from Wigan (24 March 2017)

Our lodge was clearly quite old and in places would benefit from some upgrading. However it was spotlessly clean, tidy and comfortable, so this should not put people off staying here. The lodges are perfectly situated, with some overlooking the fishing lake and gardens and others the golf course and surrounding country side.
Paul from Faversham (18 March 2017)

Brilliant weekend in hawthorn, had everything we could have needed, have already booked a return visit!
Michelle (12 March 2017)

Fabulous location and facilities. Stayed here a few times and will be back in a couple of weeks. Beautiful surrounding and amazing wildlife. Lodges are very cosy and have everything you need. We took our own bbq and always make the most of things whether it's raining or not. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Also took our dog with us - no issues - my only comment would be for the lodges to have gates on their porch/veranda entrances - not only to keep dogs in but would be good for small children too. Lots of the lodges have had new fencing/balcony additions recently and I think it much improves them. We have previously been with our teenage children, although this time just the two of us. Suitable for families with a play park and play area for little ones with great walks and great golf club house nearby that has lovely atmosphere, meals etc. thanks for a fab break
Georgina from Porthcawl (03 March 2017)

Lovely maintained lodges, everything in the lodge you will especially in the kitchen, sitting in the hot tub watching woodpeckers, buzzards, to many to nice,. there is a slight downfall if mobility is a problem due to the hilly location. . loved yes I would definitely go back again
Rosemary from Loved Yes I Would Definitely Go Back Again (02 March 2017)

We had a fabulous relaxing weekend . we both work hard every week and came home very chilled out x thank you
Debbie from Birmingham (26 February 2017)

Second time we have stayed at penllwyn lodges lovely place in a great setting would definitely recommend and will look forward to returning again in the future
Helen from Rhyl (24 February 2017)

Everything brilliant apart from a rather eclectic group of cooking utensils.
Gareth from Neath (24 February 2017)

Really enjoyed it beautiful settings and would definitely recommend it to anyone that would like a relaxing time
Denzil from Aberdare (17 February 2017)

We had a lovely stay and it was great being able to bring our pet dog with us. our lodge was lovely and clean considering dogs were allowed. we loved the amount of space, as we had to stay in more than we would have liked, due to the horrible weather. the lodges are set in a lovely location. Although you do need to be quite fit to walk around as very hilly. this is our second staying in this lodge and hope to return again next year in maybe march or april in the hope of better weather than we had this february.
Amanda from Reading, Berkshire (13 February 2017)

This was the second time we were staying at penllwyn lodges, and as always it was brilliant! . we will definitely go back again soon!
Customer 103 from London (11 February 2017)

Gorgeous place lovely views so private. Wonderful to be able to feed birds and squirrels! clean warm cabin very well equipped. Hot tub spotless and warm!
Jason from Birmingham (09 February 2017)

Perfect location. Great views on either side of the hill. Having a hot tub really made it special.
Joe from Nottingham (06 February 2017)

Utterly beautiful place, lovely lodge and friendly staff. We had the lodge for a good price and if we could get it again at the same price we would 100% book again!
Natalie from Pontypool (06 February 2017)

We had a fantastic long weekend here was all cosy and warm waiting for us to arrive wich wasn't late at night and -4' the kids loved every minute and was really layed back calm and nice thank you and hopfully we will return very shortly x
Swayze from West Yorkshire (23 January 2017)

With out a doubt one of the most beautiful places we've had the pleasure in staying in. Planning to come back.
Sarah from Bristol (08 January 2017)

Beautiful peaceful place, will definitely go back
Christine from Harpenden (06 January 2017)

Second time we've visited and we really enjoyed our stay again. Perfect, peaceful surroundings, fantastic views across the valley, lovely walk up along the canal to the pub, great central location.
Sally from Northants (30 December 2016)

This is not a vip lodge. . tired, old and very dated. Appliances unsafe, uncomfortable old bedding, mouldy windows/shower cubicles. Burns in carpet and an owner who takes personal offence to constructive criticism. . would not stay again unless a revamp was to happen and this site was brought into the 21st century.. such a shame as the location and views are pretty good.
Lisa (27 December 2016)

Booked for next christmas
Christopher from Merthyr Tydfil (27 December 2016)

Excellent lodges. Only one quibble, the settees were uncomfortable for long term sitting. Not a problem in the summer months when most of the time would be spent outside, but more of a niggle for winter lets when more time is spent inside watching tv. Otherwise everything was fine. Great views and walks.
Mike from Swansea (27 December 2016)

Lovely setting, friendly and helpful staff. . only thing it is missing is a pub/bar/shop on-site and it would be perfect.
Nic (07 October 2016)

Lovely place, have been twice and would definitely go back again.
Lyn from Birmingham (30 September 2016)

Wonderful accommodation, only snag the mattresses on the single beds needed to be replaced you could feel the springs.
Chris from Bolton (30 September 2016)

The cabin we were staying in could have done with a bit of modernisation especially to the outside. . if I would use this site again I would book a cabin with a hot tub. . excellent for the dog
David from Lichfield (25 September 2016)

This is our 15th year bril time
Stephen from Stoke On Trent (25 September 2016)

One small niggle, the trees meant that even at mid-day, hardly any natural light got into the lodge. apart from that we really enjoyed our holiday.
Joy from Huntly (24 September 2016)

We stayed in the murray this time, it was bigger than needed but was all that was available at short notice. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery etc, it was clean and the tea/coffee welcome package was very much appreciated. The microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher were all full size and worked well. The lodge is looking tired, you can't get away from that especially in the bathrooms and the two twin rooms which smelt strongly of damp. The location of the lodge was excellent and the outside patio area was lovely. I have to say that the lady who greeted us on our arrival was lovely, very friendly and helpful I only wish I could remember her name!
Bronya from I Have To Say That The Lady Who Greeted Us On Our (18 September 2016)

A very enjoyable week spent at the peaceful and secluded penllwyn lodges. The lodge was fully equipped with the only observation was that some of the appliances (fridge and microwave )were probably overdue for renewal, but this did not spoil our break. Would definately visit again.
John from Taunton (17 September 2016)

This was a lovely holiday. For me my husband and my dogs. The staff are very friendly. The area was quiet and peaceful just what we needed. the lodge was lovely and warm all the time. we will be going again. . a lovely holiday for people that love to walk. And they have there own golf course
Jacqui from Warrington (16 September 2016)

Lovely, peaceful location. cabin clean and comfortable - great to be able to bring dogs.
Anne from Stafford (10 September 2016)

Lodges very dark inside. dark woodstain combined with very dim energy saving bulbs means that you almost need a torch to see !. the shower needs a pump to make it usable. Its so weak it will not wash soap off skin !. mosquitoes and moths at night mean its impossible to have a window open. I realise its in woodlands, however a brghter interior would make a massive difference
Customer 124 (09 September 2016)

Lovely break away from it all in the woods in a log cabin. Very peaceful, friendly staff. My dog loved it. If your looking for a chilled out break, this is it.
Kevin from Telford (07 September 2016)

Very good value, clean, and the leather settee very comfy. Everything worked well, and help was at hand where needed.
Thomas from Llandysul. (04 September 2016)

It was very quiet and pleasant very relaxing.
Anita from Haverhill (03 September 2016)

Lovely oaks lodge huge plenty of room for our 4 adults and 7yr . the drive to some of the lodges on the park could be a little scary if not used to it . it really is a base though apart from the scenery which is gorgeous for a family every thing is a drive away ..within a hour and half drive we visited liverpool, west midlands safari park, king auther labryth, and dan y gulf caves national caves centre and aberystwyth coast . we had a lovely week weather wise also . walking down to the animals was a nice evening activity and watching the squirrels collecting the nuts you put out is a pleasure to . the lodge was equipped well we cooked for 5 most nights in the kitchen and we actually took some board games with for evening but there was also a dvd player. . staff were helpful and even posted a teddy we left behind . my only suggest and this isn't a reflection of the park .is borth zoo.don't go we drove to it didn't even go in prices are high and you arrive and what looks like porta cabins over grown . a little longer drive and we visited westmdlands safari higher price but much more of a day out and a free return visit included .
Lee (03 September 2016)

Excellent location, quiet, peaceful.
William from Haslingden, Lancs (29 August 2016)

Absolutely fantastic holiday, it felt like home straight away ! amazing views, peaceful, quite, relaxing location with a beautiful hot tub. Couldn't of asked for a better holiday great value for money, would go back again and again 10/10.
Jessica from Wolverhampton (22 August 2016)

We were very disappointed to find that the fishing lake did not actually have enough fish in it to be called a 'fishing' lake. We had booked this particular site because of the fishing lake. The cabin was very nice and comfortable. The shower in the cabin was not very good as it wasn't very powerful. Enjoyed the holiday but in the middle of nowhere and let down by the fishing lake.
Paula from Omskirk (13 August 2016)

Loved the location, we were on the far side of the camp. So couldn't hear the traffic from the nearby road so almost perfect. One criticism would be we booked a lodge that allowed dogs as we had two with us, but their was no gate at the end of our balcony so had to make sure the dogs were well away from the door to keep them from not running out. also we bbq two nights but there was no flat ground and lost a sausage down the hill, it would of been nce to have some garden furniture which other lodges did have, but overall a great place to spend a few days.
Helen from Sandbach (13 August 2016)

I have been visiting this site for over 30 years but will never go again. Electrical pat testing is six months out of date. Water pressure was erratic and the temperature would turn to scalding in an instant for no reason .. meaning anyone with children may require a hospital visit! yes it really was that serious. Wifi connection was a joke and you couldn't even check social media after 5pm let alone stream a movie. On the surface the cabins are clean but look closely and you will find lots of areas which haven't been cleaned in ages. To top it all staff weren't helpful when we mentioned the above. So after 30 years of visiting my family will now be finding a better site.
Caroline from Wakefield (06 August 2016)

A friendly and tranquil place stay an excellent base to explore mid wales.lodge very spacious and comfortable.
Sarah from Newport Pagnell (04 August 2016)

Amazing time, fantastic place but let down by broken oven which does switch on or off only on mains plus the temperature only go up to 150c too low for roasting.
Pablo from Oxford (27 July 2016)

The surroundings and the cabin itself were immaculate and had a very cosy feel to it. As it was weekend when we arrived, the staff were not available but had left a (very confusing!!) map of how to find our cabin. Overall a very positive experience, although quite costly
Nicola from Burnley (17 July 2016)

Had another great holiday at the lodges
Julian from Warrington (15 July 2016)

If you want peace and quiet this is the ideal place . relaxing in the hot tub was the icing on the cake . would have liked better broadband and a tv in the bedroom .
Gill from Gloucester (15 July 2016)

Wonderful peaceful surroundings, pleasant staff. highly recommended if looking for peace and quiet.y
Beverley from Bridgend (04 July 2016)

Had a lovely time. Never stayed in a lodge before and it was home from home. Kitchen fully equipped with all you need to cook your meal sect. Nice and clean, very relaxing. Have booked to go again.
Susan from Bristol (24 June 2016)

We all enjoyed and greatly appreciate the service
Gary from Eastcote, Ruislip, Middx, (10 June 2016)

Gorgeous location. Decor is very dated and makes the lodge quite dark inside but everything is clean and comfortable.
Natasha from Northampton (05 June 2016)

These lodges are beautifully located and provide a tranquil relaxing break for all ages. We stayed in the foxgloves and my parents in the larches. Both lodges were clean and spacious, a little dated but perfectly acceptable as accommodation. . you are really in the middle of vast countryside, located midway on the main road between welshpool and newtown. There is no shop within walking distance so be sure to bring all you need to start your holiday. The nearest pub, the nags head, is about one mile walk down the canal tow path. A lovely place to visit for food or to stop for a drink. . these lodges are affordable, set in stunning countryside and a great place to ensure a getaway from it all - break. My only gripe is we all agreed the pillows are rock hard! maybe bring your own :)
Ailie from Cheshire (05 June 2016)

Wonderful. Ideal for a getaway from everything. Don't expect mobile signal or wifi. It's fantastic for peace.
Rebecca from Port Talbot (31 May 2016)

Cracking little break - lodge was as expected, staff exceptionally helpful, lovely setting :). . played golf on the adjoining course - good value for money!
David (30 May 2016)

The lodge was very tired and very dark indeed. Access and parking was a little iffy. A one way system would be better.
Hilary from Shropshire (27 May 2016)

Lodges are in a beautiful setting, but are rather tired. the golf course restaurant is visible. From the lodges, but we were unable to walk to it as no dogs are allowed on the course. The area is beautiful but you do need a car
Terry from Wisbech (21 May 2016)

Back again for the 3rd time this year in november
Donna from Walsall (15 May 2016)

Lovely and peacefull.
Christine from Wigan (13 May 2016)

Beautiful area. Surroundings ideallic. Peaceful. Lodge was perfect. Second visit after 8 years. No changes which was refreshing in this day and age. unfortunately this time a large party of guests in another lodge did not respect the peace and quiet others paid for. And continued a loud outside gathering rather drunkly until early hours. Ignoring the clearly stated signs to close noise at a designated time. No staff on hand to deal with the noise. But that said, that was nothing to do with the lodges. But, to do with the inconsiderate guests. So if you book a break here... remember... theres no clubhouse, for a reason. Guests here prefer to be woken by the stunning wildlife. Fantastic base for some great scenic days out. Overall great. Returning soon.
Karen from Mountain Ash (02 May 2016)
