Sheena from Stratford Upon Avon (31 August 2018)

Absolutely loved the area so did the dogs! only thing is our log cabin was very dark inside. Apart from that, it was ace!
Karen from West Midlands (28 August 2018)

Amazing summer holiday with the family and our border collie ,beeches lodge was perfect, hot tub and verandah lovely very peaceful. We loved every minute ,only thing was the degree of slopes our car broke down in the middle of our hols don't think it coped with the gradient
Denise from Skelmersdale (25 August 2018)

We really enjoyed our holiday at your lodges, really lovely and relaxing. Just what we all needed.
Sara from Wolverhampton (25 August 2018)

Lovely lodge, but needed a little tlc, as a little tired in certain areas.
Richard from Newport, Gwent (24 August 2018)

Fantastic location and organisation of the holiday. Office staff at times lacked the full knowledge of shop produce and some general information. Our lodge could do with modernisation but would definitely return.
Andrew (24 August 2018)

Our cabin, was very dated and tired, the beds were very uncomfortable.
Jayne from Dartmouth (18 August 2018)

Beautiful
Rosemary from Oxfordshire (17 August 2018)

Great setting cabins smelt a bit musty and needed a bit of a makeover/updating.
Gillian (17 August 2018)

Lovely relaxing place
Gail from Evesham (17 August 2018)

Great holiday, great location, the family enjoyed the quietness and nature in the area.
Paul from Tavistock (17 August 2018)

A very relaxing holiday peaceful setting have been before so this was our second visit and knew what to expect
Susan from Abergele (14 August 2018)

Nice relaxing holiday would go back again.s5aff were very helpful.
Philip from Wirral (13 August 2018)

It is said to be a small family park, which it is. But apparently towards the weekends it also attracts young adult groups who are not specifically interested in the quietness. staying in a wooden lodge in the middle of the woods was a new experience to us. Once you get used to the relative darkness, it is quite nice. The lodge could do with some updating and a good clean (the kitchen floor was all slippery), but this did not spoil our fun. Unfortunately one side of the park is faced toward the road from welspool to newtown (a busy road), so you constantly hear the traffic noises.
Leonie from The Netherlands (11 August 2018)

The lodge was lovely and cosy and clean, surroundings were beautiful in a woodland setting, lovely walks along the montgomery canal, my son was only disappointed that there was no swimming pool but we went into newtown pool.
Marsha (10 August 2018)

Beautiful views. Excellent lodge bigger than expected.
Customer 20 (07 August 2018)

Lovely family run business! friendly and welcoming staff
Emma from Bristol (06 August 2018)

We have never been to wales before this was our first time and loved it! the cabin was a bit dated but that didnt bother us the kids and the dog loved it definitely be returning
Lianne from Dewsbury (06 August 2018)

The scenery was outstanding, lovely job on the landscaping , however the roads were a bit steep and the lodge was tired and underwhelming. We paid just under £900 for the week and it was very basic. Hard uncomfortable beds, kids beds covered in graffiti, the showers were an intermittent mystery, kitchen supplies were old and worn, knives were useless, no decent sized bowls etc, loo roll holders hanging off walls. There was lots of space for us and the outdoor area was great. The receptionist was a bit officious and not friendly.
Beth from Swansea (04 August 2018)

Everything you could wish for. Peace . scenery .walks. Fishing in the owners lake .people have said on previous review's that there are no fish in the lake my son caught 5 the heaviest being 6.5lbs so not bad he was very heappy. Good if your interested. Pub & restaurants within 2.5 miles so happy. We had a brilliant holiday.
Carol from Gloucestershire (04 August 2018)

I booked the murray lodge for its size and the accommodation accepted dogs. The location was perfect and the layout of the site excellent. However the lodge is in desperate need of a makeover, the bathrooms were very tired and not in a good state of repair.
Lorraine (30 July 2018)

Fantastic lodge - very peaceful and relaxing. Hot tub was a little added luxury. The shop and reception was open very limited hours but this did not cause any problems for us. Would highly recommend staying in one of the lodges if you would like a very relaxing break.
Emma (29 July 2018)

Went in july for a long weekend away with family. Absolutely amazing scenery and the lodge was very comfortable and spacious!!! it was fully equipped with utensils and appliances and we felt really at home. . will definitely be coming back!!
Jacquie from Leicester (22 July 2018)

Loved the location and loved the lodge, although decor and amenities slightly tired, could do with updating. Felt remote due to good spacing between the lodges, loads of birds and wildlife rummaging about around the lodge. Disappointing that there were not many walls from the lodges.. a steep incline takes you down to the canal and the level walk was beautiful from there.. it would not be appropriate walking for reduced mobility unless at the canal. Would visit again .
Mary from Banbury (21 July 2018)

Beautiful location and amazing accomodation
Zaynor from Montogomery (21 July 2018)

We have been going here for over 23 years and will always go back.
Alison from Wigan (20 July 2018)

Lovely location
Mandy from Derbyshire (15 July 2018)

The lodge at penllwyn suited our family group very well as there were 5 of us of all ages plus 1 dog. it was an ideal base to explore the surrounding area. the murray lodge does need a bit of an upgrade as some of the wooden doors were in need of a repair and the overall lighting in most of the rooms was very dim. Some of the fixtures and fittings would also benefit from an upgrade.
Catherine (13 July 2018)

A quiet and peaceful stay.
Dennis from Okehampton (13 July 2018)

Such a beautifuly located lodge so relaxing .all the facilities in the lodge you would need for a short or long stay for us and the dog.great for the golf course it overlooked,or fishing in the idillic grounds and gardens.will definitely return.thanks for great holiday.
Keith from Hull (07 July 2018)

Brilliant so wonderful to be there, loved the veranda. Friendly and helpful.
Coleen from Llanelli (03 July 2018)

Amazing time would go back
Meg from West Mislands (02 July 2018)

Great location in the woods. Lodge was very clean on arrival and everything we needed to make our weekend break comfortable. Very helpful staff. Thanks.
Ruth from Thanks. (02 July 2018)

Fantastic place to stay and take in the local area but the fishing lakes was a bit of a let down
Malachy from Liverpool (25 June 2018)

Fantastic week spent at the beeches spa lodge. The views are to die for and the hot tub made the whole experience even more fabulous! the beeches is one of the original lodges here and although a little dated now, the extended veranda and outdoor space is truly magnificent. So much so, we spent most of our holiday there, only retreating into the lodge for food preparation, showers and bed! I would say the lodges overlooking the golf course and surrounding hills and countryside are in the best positions. That side of the park is very peaceful and un-interrupted with abundant wildlife and bird song to keep you entertained first and last thing at night. There is plenty of walking in the surrounding areas and would highly recommend taking the walk along the canal - both ways! the park itself is beautiful and the gardens are very well looked after. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we would most certainly recommend this to others.
Helen from Nottingham (22 June 2018)

Lodge was an excellent size, little dark inside. Reasonably equipped. Hot tub an added attraction. Staff very helpful as I was recovering from a heart attack a couple of weeks before, emma showed a genuine interest and was happy to advise about parking etc.
Elaine from Bedford (22 June 2018)

An excellent short break weekend for my wifes 50th. We had a great time and able to bring dogs is a massive bonus. Will be returning but with no dogs and will be using a lodge with a hot tub
Dave from Cradley Heath (18 June 2018)

Philip from Walsall (18 May 2018)

Great location, friendly staff, lovely lodges, fair prices, I will definitely be returning.
Gav from Staffordshire (14 May 2018)

Overall, the holiday was very good, however, it clashed with some essential maintenance by the water company, which resulted in us having no water for 2 consecutive nights and murky brown water from the taps in the morning. We did report it and the owner visited to explain what had happened. It would not stop us from going again.
Donna from Selby (14 May 2018)

Had a lovely relaxing stay. 5 adults and 3young children. Plenty of room. Very well equipped. Would definitely stay again.
Tammy from Worcester (14 May 2018)

Just want our family needed for a easter break. simple and lovely accommodation and surrounds. the touch of the easter hunt for the children was lovely. everyone very friendly and a great time was had.
Jane from Bristol (02 April 2018)

Beautiful setting but felt accomodation was not well equipped with minimal loo roll, dishwasher tablets and no washing up liquid. No extra crockery and cutlery which is not helpful if you want to use dishwasher only once a day, that is the number of tabs provided. A few extra pennies spent by providers and a little thought would have made a big difference.

Sue from Pontypridd (12 March 2018)

Stunning location! stayed in captains lodge. Made us say wow when we walked in! plenty of room for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids. Great location for some good old fashioned outdoor fun with the kids (rolling in the leaves, climbing hills and just generally getting dirty!) friendly and informative welcome on arrival. Had an amazing weekend. One thing I would recommend might be hot tub in the bigger lodges. Would be a great end to the day! will definately be returning in the near future. Thank you!

We originally booked the hawthorns spa but due to the bad weather and snow the pipes had frozen, the owners were really helpful and were able to relocate us to the stablings cottage. It was perfect.

The toft was clean and in a lovely location. We felt though that it was very dated and would benefit from an upgrade. We had taken our two labs and would have preferred to clear more of their pet hair but the antiquated vacuum cleaner provided failed to perform adequately and its cable was also taped up with electricians tape. . the girls on reception were lovely.

Took the grandchildren away for a few days as a half term treat. Aged between 9 & 3 years old. Had a great time. Would have been great if the site had more activities for the children. All still enjoyed this break.
Jackie from Derby (16 February 2018)

The location was amazing! we saw more than 20 types of bird just outside our lodge. The lodge was spacious & the kitchen well equipped. However, the mattresses & pillows were awful & none of the adults got a decent nights sleep unfortunately! everything else was fantastic but the quality of the bedding means we wouldn’t book this cabin again. Some new mattresses, pillows & some crisp white bedding, along with plain natural coloured curtains would really make this accommodation first class. Oh, almost forgot..the showers were horrendous too! barely a trickle & with fluctuating temperature meant us ladies didn’t even attempt to wash our hair! again, easy to solve to make this really tip top!

Fantastic place!! found it hard to leave, only thing I would of like is some reflective polls or something along the hill climb to the cabins as it’s very dark and hard to see when driving up steep hills, also it’s extremely hard to see the entrance and night time, especially on a fast road, a light above the sign would of been very helpful.

Lovely the site. Stayed here a few times. Nice and peaceful and relaxed. Just what we needed. The actual log cabin would benefit from a refurbishment as appeared a little dates. Views on site we're stunning. Had fun running up the hill after a 5 mile walk. We we're like a gang of kids but loved it. A beautiful site. Plenty of hot water. Would certainly stay again and again. Partner was gutted he never brought his fishing and golfing gear. A chill was what we wanted and a chill is what we got. The dog was very happy and loved running up and down the hills after the ball. It certainly tired her out. She chilled with us in the evenings.

This place is amazing . it’s beautiful . log cabin was clean and tidy no complaints . I would say it is too small to sleep 6 adults . 2 adults 2 children is enough . especially with only 1 bathroom . staff were lovely . be prepared to drive as you are in the middle of no where in the most beautiful surrounding x

Lovely place, we have stayed here 5 times now in two different lodges the toft and little log and they are both lovely. Very clean , staff are friendliness, beautiful walks, play area for children and animals what more can you want. Beautiful and quiet , very relaxing. Love watching the squirrels foraging for nuts / seeds which you can buy at the shop and bird watching. Thankyou for a lovely break.

We have been visiting these lodges for the last 10 years, staying at many of the cabins, sometimes with our dog too (the dog friendly cabins are very clean and fresh also) . we visit out of season with our friends for a long weekend. Our aim when we come is to relax after a busy year, so we don’t normally leave the lodge much. The kids can go out and explore and we know that they are safe. We do the annual walk along the canal to the nearby village to the tea shop for cake (yum!) . the lodges are very roomy (8 of us easily share the crows nest without getting under each other’s feet) . the last couple of years we have visited the weekend before christmas and have had our own early christmas, as the 2 families don’t get to see each other otherwise over the festive period. . we easily cook a christmas dinner with the equipment and facilities provided. . the cabins are a little dated furniture-wise but to us, that adds to the charm as it makes it extremely cosy. . we love coming here - it’s our happy place.

Very nice lodge and ideally situated in beautiful surroundings. unfortunately the hotels are all in open view of other lodges and the road/path so everyone walking/driving can see you in the hot tub. I think this should be a bit more of a private thing.

Beautiful location and very friendly people. To be honest the cabin was a bit tired looking but nevertheless very comfortable.

Spent 4 nights away towards the end of november and it was great. Located far enough away from anything to feel relaxed and peaceful, yet close enough to towns/bars to not feel isolated. Perfect.
Chris from Wem (01 December 2017)

Had a fantastic time in a lovely lodge with beautiful surroundings
