Had an amazing break here. Lodges are amazing. Staff are very helpful. Perfect for a relaxing break away
Lauren from Liverpool (07 October 2016)

The lodge could have been so much nicer. the bed was solid as a rock. There was a strong smell of asian cuisine in the cabin that lasted for a couple of days. I can't say it was cleaner to a high standard. My 1 year old found a toy under the curtains as well as a peach seed. The exterior of the cabin was poorly maintained. Cobwebs, dead leaves that had clearly been there a while and the outside furniture was very tired. The potential was there and the site was lovely. needs some work. Slightly misadvertised in term of the children's play area, it's a swing and a slide.
David from York (07 October 2016)

Great girls weekend at pen-y-garth lodges. Been at same time for last two years and will definitely be making it a yearly event.
Julie from Newton-Le-Willows (03 October 2016)

Lovely clean lodge and a nice hot tub. My only gripe is the wifi. I paid £10 and it was unuseable, none of my devices would reliably connect (on any of the parks hotspots) and when they did it was painfully slow for the minute it stayed up. . dont waste your money on it. Then to top it all, the brochure inside the lodge said wifi was free!
Pete from Telford (03 October 2016)

The only let down was that we were unable to get a take away delivered.
Gary from Pontypridd (03 October 2016)

Booked a 6 berth yet only 2 x 2 seater sofa did check with reception I was in correct accommodation. Curtains did not shut properly in bedrooms
Andrea from Rhondda (30 September 2016)

An absolute gem of a place highly recommended
Domenico from Stalybridge (30 September 2016)

Was a totally amazing time and will surely be going back in the future
Liam from Burton On Trent (30 September 2016)

Lodge was more of a caravan than a lodge. had to hoover it when we arrived and brush outside area of leaves and remove plastic cup full of bottle tops and cigarette ends off the patio table. no way was this big enough for 6 people and only 2 x 2 seater sofas to sit on. on the plus side, the hot tub was lovely.
Julie from Cheshire (26 September 2016)

Really good place to stay. I used it as a base to do some walking so wasn't there much in the day but at night lay in the hot tub watching the stars couldn't have been better. the staff were very welcoming and explained the local area and where shops etc are. . only small negative was the wifi was a bit hit and miss. its £10 for the week but sometimes I had problems connecting
Leigh from Stockport (26 September 2016)

We had an amazing break, we took our dog eric who also loved it. Very chilled and beautiful location of wales. If you want lots of activities then this is not the place for you. This is all about the hot tub, relaxation and taking in the surroundings and walking the dog. Bala is a lovely little village with pubs and locally brewed beer and sprits. . there is also paint your own pottery shop which is fab I found my inner child. . the lodge was spotless and we had the bonus of a dishwasher! the facilities in the kicthen were fab, shaper knifes, a sponge for washing up, cloths and extra bin bags would of made it excellent. . we will see you again soon x
Catalina from Manchester (26 September 2016)

Best weekend i've had! definitely stay again and recommended to all friends and family! everything from the staff, the location
Lauren from Deeside (26 September 2016)

A group of 6 of us visited this park and stayed in the manor house for a long weekend. We travelled all the way down from glasgow and it was so worth it. The pictures don't do the house justice at all. It is much bigger and more spacious than we expected. Lovely original features. The hot tub was well used and a great addition. We had a fantastic stay and I would definitely book again despite the journey to get there! no issues whatsoever. A+++
Pamela from Glasgow (26 September 2016)

Had a lovely break. Lodge was lovely. Hot tub great. Very friendly staff.
Joanne (26 September 2016)

Nice holiday for relaxing views, walks and lovely lodges. Very quiet place. Games room facilities appeared neglected ie needed new heads on snooker cues other than that if seclusion and peace is what you require its lovely
Mark from Manchester (23 September 2016)

Lovely lodges and surrounding area, great for a few days away! disappointing that even after paying for wifi it didn't work and no reception in the area. Only other negative is that it's hot and miss as to whether you get a good location lodge and some have hottubs overlooking other people's and are close together so don't feel very private but overall a fantastic break with everything you would need! would visit again and recommend!
Angela from Manchester (23 September 2016)

Amazing peaceful relaxing . lodge clean comfortable and warm
Jacqueline from Barnstaple (23 September 2016)

Think the wi fi should of been free
Cheryl (23 September 2016)

The accommodation is not traditional wooden lodges as we were expecting. It was basically a caravan but brown on the outside. The hallway was very narrow and there was barely any room in the bedrooms. We have a 1 year old and had paid for a travel cot, only problem being there was nowhere to put the cot withouthe it restricting access to whichever bedroom we put it in. Overall not great, if I wanted a caravan holiday I would have spent less and gone to a caravan site.
Patricia from Stoke-On-Trent (23 September 2016)

Most memorable weekend ever, I got engaged that weekend and the hot tub and the surroundings made it just perfect!
Louise from Birmingham (19 September 2016)

Lovely quiet and peaceful location, could do with better signage as we missed the small sign advising where to turn. . play area wasn't tailored to all ages of children, disappointed with games room, did not feel very welcoming. . staff were great and very helpful and friendly.
Erica from Northamptonshire (19 September 2016)

Brilliant lodge and hot tub. Other facilities at the camp site minimal but close enough to bala for it not to matter. Well kept site and helpful staff. A good holiday spent by all the family, including the dog.
Ron from Sittingbourne (16 September 2016)

We found the was small compaired to what have had on other sites we nearly always go with howseasons but we found the bathroom very small and it did not an ensuite
Brian from Honiton Devon (16 September 2016)

Lodge needed a deep clean. Had to purchase cleaning products from the town to clean the lodge myself
Leon from Cardiff (16 September 2016)

Really enjoyed our stay, hot tub was fantastic to unwind after a long days rambling. . the only suggestion I would make is that pet and non-pet lodges should be kept separate. . the lodge was immaculate and very clean but there was a faint smell of wet dog on the sofa which did improve throughout our stay. . as non- pet owners, this was slightly off putting. . scored 10 because I know if we had mentioned it to the staff, they would have endeavoured to sort it out. . we just got some fabreeze from the local shop. . will be coming again! thanks.
Owain (16 September 2016)

Good excellent
Sarah from Shrewsbury (16 September 2016)

We had a great time, the house was lovely, some more attention should be paid to the cleaning, and the second oven was broke,. which was a bit of a challenge given that there was 8 of us. ideally we could have had some more toilet rolls and hand wash on arrival, a facility for purchases (ie toilet roll) would be good. overall it was a great stay and the beds were lovely.
Customer 27 (12 September 2016)

Enjoyed my stay, very nice location, rooms very small I was reminded of a static caravan, loved the hot tub but not very private, didn't enjoy having neighbours- however the price was very good I would prefer more isolation, I won't return myself but it wasn't a disaster just not my ideal
Karen from Leek Staffs (12 September 2016)

Very peaceful, beautiful surroundings, just what my husband and I needed after a very hectic six week annual school holidays looking after our four grandchildren. Needless to say we wouldn't be without them.
Mrs M from Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire (12 September 2016)

This was our 3rd time at pen y garth lodges. The we like the site and they have made good improvements since our last visit. I although they don't have my facilities that is exactly why we love it so much. I we want quiet relaxing parks without shops and club houses so it's perfect for us.
Emma (12 September 2016)

Lodge which was reserved for us was really unsuitable for 6 people.it was 6 people with 2 dogs and a baby.we were expected to come with only 1 car which was disappointing.lodge was really small, sofas in living room for 4 people garden furniture for 4 people, only 1 bathroom.charge for internet where everywhere else we've rented lodge this would be free of charge.very big minus was that we could use a hot tub only until 11pm.it is a big shame..we have been in same holiday park and we absolutely loved it.this time it was a big dissapointment so never again
Justyna from Cardiff (12 September 2016)

Had a lovely stay and the staff could not of been more helpful, really looking forward to my next visit
Sarah (12 September 2016)

Lodges were more like wood claded caravans rather than lodges, and a bit crowded. Bala is nice but most things are 30-60 min drive away.
Jonathan (12 September 2016)

We went as a group of 5 ladies to celebrate our 30th birthdays. The lodge was immaculately clean and a perfect size for us, having an extra bathroom with the en-suite facility and the addition of a fridge was perfect. We all enjoyed the hot tub and this being straight outside the living area was great to be able to jump straight back inside on the cold evenings. I did think that a nice canopy over the hot tub would be a good addition for when it rains, that is my only negative comment really. We went for the day to zipworld and bounce below which was about a 40 minute drive away. All in all a great weekend, we will definitely return.
Donna from Burton On Trent (12 September 2016)

Nice and clean lodge and hot tub in beautiful surroundings. Well kept camp site. One small criticism is that the covers on the hot tubs are incredibly heavy, so difficult to get on and off.
Christopher from Skipton (09 September 2016)

A very relaxing break in a lovely lodge.
Alan from Shrewsbury (09 September 2016)

Beautiful clean and comfortable lodge in a amazing site that is not over developed . dog friendly too
Sharon from Exeter (02 September 2016)

Great holiday made better with glorious welsh sunshine. staff at the lodges were absolutely fantastic, so helpful - particularly when I had a puncture to sort out. accommodation first class, really enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. well equipped but double bed was a bit on the hard side! (hence only an 8 - otherwise it would have been a ten). great peaceful setting. would definitely return!
Jayne from Stokesley (02 September 2016)

We have stayed twice at pen y garth lodges and it is like home from home. Quiet holiday park and beautiful surroundings. The lodges are spacious, clean and have everything you need. Kids love the hot tub especially. Definitely a place to go back to every year. Thank you bala!!
Louise (02 September 2016)

Although set on a hill, the site was just 2 mins drive to town and bala lake and all its water sport activities. The town has a good selection of food and drink venues, takeaways, spar, co-op etc. Most sea side places are a good hours drive, through fantastic scenery, eg portmadog (blackrock beach), barmouth, conway etc. Great days out then back to peace and quiet. Favourite part was sat in the jaccuzi at night with a drink looking up at the stars, absolutely amazing!! accommodation as what you would expect, cooker not that good, some reminiscence of dog hair, but overall very clean and fresh. Staff very helpful. Definately recommend!
Edmund from Preston (02 September 2016)

Super accommodation, peaceful site with lovely surroundings - would definitely recommend and return
John from Wirral (02 September 2016)

Beautiful site and area and the children and me enjoyed our visit. The lodge was lovely but not cleaned very well, the beds are cheap and you can feel every spring! the lack of attention to detail is sad as it would be a fabulous site otherwise.
Deborah from Doncaster (29 August 2016)

Immaculately kept grounds, lovely views in every direction. The nearest beach at least 40 minutes drive. Hot tub temperature was maintained at 39 to 40 degrees and it was therefore only possible to stay in the hot tub for short periods, especially the children. When we asked at reception we were informed that this was the temperature of all the hot tubs and that it could not be altered.
Jane from Doncaster (29 August 2016)

A lovely park with the gorgeous bala lake 20 mins down the road. . lots of outdoor pursuits in the local area. . my only criticism would be the games room, things missing and broken. . but overall a lovely park in a great location.
Terri from Norfolk (26 August 2016)

Great holiday had by our whole family and dog. We walked miles and relaxed in the hot tub. The rooms were comfy and the tv in each room was a bonus.
Simon from Somerset (26 August 2016)

A lovely spot with the lake close by.
Julie from Littleton, Somerset (26 August 2016)

Arrived late, received a very warm welcome from sandy who was very friendly and helpful. Sadly all went downhill from there on, and unfortunately it's those first impressions that make the most impact. . we drove to our lodge and found dirty laundry outside it. Surely it's something that could have been dealt with earlier, our arrival was 7 pm. Thankfully it had been cleared up by the time we returned from buying some food. Lodge was basically a static caravan, not quite what we had expected. Sadly it was dirty, with breadcrumbs on the carpet in the living area. Thankfully the bedrooms were clean. However, most of the kitchen utensils were filthy, so was the oven. Even the kettle and toaster were full of dust, as if they had been taken out of storage after many years of not being used. Staff were helpful when this was reported the following day, and someone was promptly sent to clean the oven. We literally spent our first day cleaning the utensils and the lounge/kitchen area, so much for a 'luxury' holiday. The cleaner/s sadly let them down. . the toilet seat was broken, and the remote for the tv was not working but these were promptly replaced by the maintenance gentleman. Despite the rather horrendous beginning of our stay, the remainder of it was reasonably pleasant although I must admit that I do not feel that the lodge was value for my money. The lodges are perfectly positioned and I loved the tranquil atmosphere, made even better by the beautiful surroundings and views. were it not for my initial experience, it's one place that I would consider returning to.
Godswill from Gillingham (22 August 2016)

Luxurious but kitchen and outside could have been cleaner.
Steve (22 August 2016)

Beautiful area. Waste bins need review. Perhaps more bins would help.
Helen from Blackwood (22 August 2016)

The lodge site is beautiful and immaculately maintained, however the lodge allocated to us - number 7 - was disappointing.
Michael from Stratford Upon Avon (22 August 2016)

The lodge was beautiful and really quiet the hot rubbers amazing. would recommend a car if you have children with you. however our check in was delayed and out of our 3 nights there - we were told on our first night we couldn't use the hot tub which was very disappointing for the children and especially considering the price we paid for a platinum lodge.
Jayne from Liverpool (22 August 2016)

One of the best lodges I have been too. Went on the 19th august for 3 nights and I have already booked to go back for 3 nights in september!
Lauren from Cardiff (22 August 2016)

Excellent lodges and surroundings. we took our dog and the accommodation was ideal because, with the railing around, we could let her roam free in and out of the lodge. the hot tub made it even more special and the temperature ideal. the only problem was the weather and I don't think they could do much about that - we just had to make the most of it - which we did!. would definitely return and recommend it to everyone.
Eileen from Aldridge (22 August 2016)

Hit the spot for the holiday we had planned
Caroline from Brighton (15 August 2016)

Great holiday, the lodge was lovely and the surrounding areas were superb! we were lucky enough to have one of the best views on the site looking out onto the hills. Would definately come back!
Chloe (12 August 2016)

Accommodation was not clean and needed updating
Robert from Amersham (08 August 2016)

We had a lovely week at pen-y-garth. the games room was a little disappointing with damaged/broken cues and damage to the pool table. more had apparently been ordered but had not arrived during our stay. the site was extremely quiet and peaceful. bala is a nice little town amenities wise and we had nice meals at both the indian and italian although both only take cash. a beautiful area, but most places we visited (beach, castle, waterfall, national trust property, slate museum) were quite a drive away. this did mean we saw lots of stunning scenery on our travels! tesco also delivered to the lodge, so we had no problems with groceries and topped up in bala when needed.
Jen from Swindon (08 August 2016)

Lovely lodge & area . the site could do with a small shop just for essentials , that was all that was missing but would definitely recommend the place . will stay again .
Sharon from St Helens (08 August 2016)

Nice lodge but not worth money we paid! initially problem with key, then had no hot water. Reported it and was told paul not at work today but will make a note.. fortunately we troubleshooted with manuals found in drawer.. when we told them we sorted it ourselves (after getting fed up waiting with2 young children 6hrs later) was told 'oh good because he isn't back until tomorrow!! stains on bedding, broken fridge drawer really sharp edges..hot tub wasn't ready. Disappointing but beautiful surrounding. Not best for young families as nothing except very small playground on site.
Paul from Worcs (08 August 2016)

It was a great location for us. Day trips in the area. Friends in bala. Hot tub fab. Lodge clean and had everything needed. Enjoyed being on a quiet park close to nature.
Claudia (08 August 2016)

Lovely quiet park, kept immaculately clean. Only marked the heldfullness of the staff down as we arrived at 16.15 to the office closed and an answer machine message to call duty person who basically hufffed down the phone, turned up and threw our keys at us and went. Not a pleasant experience when we had been on the road for 6 hours. Also we had two dogs who were out on the decking one day when a man turned up to check the hot tub levels walked straight in never said a word about what he was doing then went.
Jane from Wantage (06 August 2016)

Too many dogs running loose when we stayed - good job our decking had gates. staff did some noisy jobs early in the morning, like mowing the grass and nailing a shed together. good hot tub.
Andrew from East Grinstead (05 August 2016)

Don't need to say much more than great little place very peaceful and lovely people. only thing (and a minor detail) was none of the cues in the pool room had tips..hot tub was great and a fabulous base to explore north wales. also bala was very do friendly!
Martin from Northwich (05 August 2016)

We spent an enjoyable week in beautiful surroundings. The lodge was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were welcoming. there were lots of lovely places to visit. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day.
Valerie from Derby (05 August 2016)

Excellent site, clean, quiet & great location with excellent staff. Have already recommended it to family & friends & hope to holiday there again.
Hilary from Kent (05 August 2016)

The only dark spot was on the day of our arrival. Driving for nearly 4-5 h from london we wanted to relax, checking was at 4pm, but due to some staff member sickness absence issue our lodge wasn't ready at checking time as was told by the receptionist. We only got in the lodge around 5pm. The only thing we received was a "sorry about that".. anyhow we enjoyed our stay though it was raining until our departure day.
Sanjay from Greater London (05 August 2016)

Fabulous time staying at the manor house! would not hesitate in recommending this to friends. Only criticism is that the hot tub wasn't ready for our arrival on the friday. Would definitely return though.
Sheree from Birmingham (01 August 2016)

Lovely relaxing holiday.
Claire from Prestatyn (01 August 2016)

Really enjoyed the week at pen-y-garth. Our lodge was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff on site were so helpful, with advice given on things to do in the area. Wi-fi could of been better but, that's from two teenagers who are addicted to it..i enjoyed the switch off from everything.
Emma from Stowmarket (01 August 2016)

Lodge we stayed in wasnt the best looking on the outside out door furniture was tatty and needed replacing hot tube water seemed to of not bin changed just added more clorene which left the kids blotchy skin ... there is nothing!!! to do on site
Paul from Coventry (01 August 2016)

Expensive.the two ladies in office were very helpful and warm hearted
Stephen from Bray Ireland (01 August 2016)

Lovely & clean, had a problem with the hot tub, control panel was damaged, also the tub tripped the electricity.
Elsie from Wigan (29 July 2016)

Great park. Lovely and quiet. Cabin was in excellent condition and we loved our daily dips in the hot tub. Also loved the gate and fence on the decking to keep the kids and dog safe. Only recommendation would be to perhaps have a vending machine in the games room, as the local shop is 5 mins drive away which isn't a lot but when you have to take two young kids and a dog with you, it can be! however, would definitely come back to this park.
Jennifer from Wirral (29 July 2016)

Wifi connection needs upgrading. so difficult to connect and slows you down especially during the day when you need to plan or alter your itinerary because of the weather. . the maintenance guy is so quick to respond when we had trouble with water and electric. . overall, the place is excellent! definitely, we'll come back again. highly recommended.
Reginaldo (25 July 2016)

Lovely place. Welcoming staff. Lodge feels spacious and had everything in it we needed
Rebecca from Lancashire (22 July 2016)

Can't say a bad word against pen-y garth lodges, by far the best lodges we have stayed at with breath taking views which will blow anyone's mind.
Iain from Hamilton (22 July 2016)

Lovely clean lodges and lovely members of staff very helpful.
Benjamin (18 July 2016)

£10 wifi didn't work at all. Hot tubs too close to each other, made us feel uncomfortable. Lodge was dirty, mould under the rug. Wouldn't stay again.
Vincent (15 July 2016)

The lodge was lovely but not my idea of a lodge, it was badically a bigger static catavan. For some reason the master bedroom was extremely damp. This was without using the ensuite. Every morning our bed clothes were extremely damp and all our clothes we had unpacked. Really put us off
Louise from Athelstaneford (15 July 2016)

Superb location. It's all about the hot tub! . . bala has a reasonable sized co-op where you can get supplies. . the only disappointment was that the hot tub took 24 hours to warm up meaning we could not use it on the first night :(
Gavin (15 July 2016)

A beautiful peaceful location.
Richard from Weymouth (15 July 2016)

The manor house was gorgeous, and private, with a massive garden for the kids to run around. The only downside was the fact that I paid £10 for wifi, which I could hardly ever get any signal for. I would recommend others not to buy it, or for pen-y-garth to give it for free. . also we found the beds weren't particularly comfy. Apart from that, we had a great week. Hopefully will be back again in the not too distant future.
Aled from Neath (15 July 2016)

Fantastic family time in lovely surroundings
Joseph from Bolton (11 July 2016)

Had a great time in number 57 which had superb views towards bala village. Number 57 was very clean and kept in an immaculate condition. We had previously visited in summer 2015 and can envisage visiting again next year.
Paul from Whitstable (11 July 2016)

We arrived at 15.45 and was told the accommodation was not ready. We had to wait for an hour and with an hungry infant this was not pleasant. We were also told the hot tub was not ready and it would not be hot that evening. We were sold wifi that did not work and when we said about this at reception, I was told it was a bad reception area.
Julie (11 July 2016)

We did have a relaxing family break and the accommodation was brilliant. We had a lodge with a hot tub which was great at the end of the date for relaxing in , the kids loved it rain or shine. The facilities were very poor , the games room had nothing in it that actually worked ( not impressed) . due to the road and no walk way it was not safe for a family to walk to the local town of bala , transport required for this and everything else .... hope this helps other families .
Deborah from Glasgow (08 July 2016)

Amazing lodge, I think we had the best plot as the hot tub was nicely tucked away, bala lake and snowdonia surrounding is as beautiful as always, only down side is that there is not an on site shop but the town is only a mile away so not much need. The lodge was clean and well presented, staying 7 nights I think the hottub water should be changed half way but that is personal prefference. Overall we had a great week away and would definitely return to pen y garth lodges
Harry (04 July 2016)

The lodge was really lovely, clean, modern, comfortable with a welcome pack and the staff and surrounding were really lovely.. but.we were put directly by the maintenance area with large vans, buggies and people camped right infront of our lodge from 8 am to 5pm, it was very uncomfortable to use the hot tub or just enjoy sitting out on the decking, and constantly making my dogs bark. They also started gardening at 8 am strimming around our area making my dogs bark. We were there for a relaxing holiday to enjoy peace and quiet not wanting to see the local area with adult children who all needed time to relax from busy stressful jobs and so everyday we had to get up early to quieten the dogs not to disturb the other occupants so not much relaxation was had. The staff could see what was happening but still it continued, we went home very tired. We were told when leaving after I complained that a large group of church goers wanted everything to be perfect so we were put in that particular lodge!! we all paid the same price!!! . we would return but as long as it was in the quieter area of the park.
Customer 88 from Neath (01 July 2016)

Clean well equipped lodge, set in lovely countryside. The addition of a small on site shop would be a benefit. Great relaxing break
Derek from Gravesend (01 July 2016)

The site was perfect, my son (16) and I stayed and used as a base to explore. The site itself was spotless, very quiet, and although it has very few facilities, the lodges are top quality and the local village is less than a mile. Staff friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Location is not central for snowden, everything seemed to be an hour in the car away however this actually helped us discover areas we wouldnt have done otherwise. Would go back without hesitation
Mark from Thorrington (01 July 2016)

This year was our second year to stay here, we would highly recommend these lodges, great location for sight seeing and not too far to drive to or from holyhead port.
Ann from Ireland (01 July 2016)

What a lovely place! very peaceful with beautiful views and immaculate landscaping and gardens, a very lovely park. hot tubs on decking were slightly too exposed to other holiday makers for our liking but once we got in it wasnt that nad, thankfully there was noone in the lodge immediately next to us to peep on us! being from wales we've explored most of the local towns/sights previously over the years but we still managed to drive to and walk up mount snowdon (approx 45/50mins away) and went to zipworld blaenau ffestiniog - a great day out for all the family (approx 40mins away) was a little dissappointed that we couldnt walk to bala lake from the park (but its literally a min drive away) bala town itself is small but quaint but a smaller supermaket and shops for any food items needed. all in all a lovely weekend break away with the family
Banner from Rhondda, South Wales (27 June 2016)

It was nice and relaxing but as soon as we went into the lodge there was an animal odour, there were crumbs under the sofa and wasps or hornets in the light in the en suit bedroom, and our lodge was by uncut hedges and we were pestered by flies and could not hardly sit outside, the lodge was decent though we enjoyed the hot tub and kitchen and bathroom was nice and clean one of the door latches was broken on the out side and we could only have one door open, it's a nice relaxing place could do with a on site shop and bar resurant .
Stephen (24 June 2016)

Lovely scenery and clean well laid out park. Staff available in office during the day and a number for the onsite out of hours staff makes you feel secure.
Jac from North West (24 June 2016)

Enjoyed every minute! . cabin was immaculate and very well equipped with everything and more, staff were lovely, the whole experience was lovely and relaxing will definitely recommend . we will be coming to stay again in the future
Marie (20 June 2016)

Fantastic. Only sad thing is you couldn't use the hot tub past 11pm. Maybe it should tell you that pre booking ?
Emma (20 June 2016)

Perfect for a getaway break, great value for money and we loved oir stay here, will definitely be back again soon!
Jade from Stoke On Trent (20 June 2016)

We enjoyed our stay last month, very peaceful & beautiful surroundings, totally chilled out. We would return sometime in the future..thank you. P.s. My only complaint is very basic utensils in the kitchen made it very awkward to cook/prepare food...needs reviewing!!
Cherry from Nialsea (17 June 2016)

If only the weather had plated ball!
Michael from Hitchin (17 June 2016)

Cabin fine/servicable. Don't pay for wifi.. possibly the worst intenet ever.. . . nice for a relaxing break, not a lot to do in bala unless you like sailing. . avoid the local chinese like the plague. 2 star health rating, took the sticker off the window the next day
Rich from Manchester (17 June 2016)

The lodge and hot tub were lovely. Really nice. . there was a bit of silt in the hot tub though so hadn't been cleaned properly between guests. There is nothing to do on site but wasn't a problem for us but may be boring for children. The wifi is a complete rip off at £10 as it never worked and each evening we came home from days out and went to ask about it the reception was already shut, on two occasions it wasn't even 5pm. The attitude was very much 'we can't work 24hrs.' which we wasn't expecting but open til 5.30 or 6pm should be reasonable as a lot of people go out all day as we did. If you want a lovely lodge in the middle of nowhere then this is the place for you but really suggest not wasting money on the wifi they offer and don't expect much help from reception if there are any issues.
Anon (17 June 2016)

Amazing ! could not fault it. Apart from it raining most of the time :)
Mark from Southapton (17 June 2016)

The cleanliness of the cabin was well below the standard expected but the park manager came to rectify. The hot tub was not available for use on our arrival despite booking the cabin back in march which was very disappointing. . overall for my 60th birthday celebrations it was enjoyable
Anna from Telford (13 June 2016)

Enjoyed wales. pity about the awful weather.
John from Crewe (13 June 2016)

We stayed at the beginning of june and loved it. In fact we loved it that much we've booked to go back in september
Michelle from Manchester (10 June 2016)

Stayed here several times now and we love it. It's quiet and relaxing and the lodges and hot tubs are great.
Yvonne from Liverpool (10 June 2016)

Brilliant location, close to bala lake ,lodge very clean and very comfortable.home from home .we took are 2 dogs and they enjoyed it also..p
Debby from Wales (10 June 2016)

We had a great weekend at pen y garth lodges and feel inspired by north wales. Can't wait to return and explore the area further. the lodge was really comfortable and had everything we needed.
Caroline from Castleford (05 June 2016)

The holiday park is beautiful but unfortunately our lodge was of a very poor standard. Travelling as a family we rented three foxglove lodges. Two were beautiful but ours was awful. Dirty, broken fixtures and fittings, broken beds and mattresses etc etc. When alerted to this however the manager and maintenance guys bent over backwards to try to sort it out and replaced the mattresses. Unfortunately we couldn't move lodge as the park was full. A fantastic area, immaculately kept park but very disappointing lodge. Yes we would stay again but make sure it was a different lodge!
Catherine from Sidmouth (04 June 2016)

What an amazing holiday we had. The amazing tranquil setting of snowdonia on your doorstep was a bonas as well as the peacefulness of the camp itself. Our lodge was immaculate spacious and well aquip although the picture on the website was nothing like the lodge we actually stayed in. This fault lied with hoeseasons and not with pen y garth themselves. Bala is a lovely town and has some great eateries. For a family of 4 this was the perfect peaceful holiday that we needed and we will definatly be visiting again in the near future. A clear 10/10
Maria from Sheffield (03 June 2016)

Very nice location with great views.
Peter from Liverpool (03 June 2016)

Although the location was great, and the welsh country side and views were breath taking, the actual "lodge" we stayed in was a very poor quality caravan with plastic wood effect. . the hot tub wasnt ready until the 2nd day, the sofa fell to bits when you looked at it, the toaster was dangerously broken, several light bulbs were blown, and the dvd player refused to play any of the kids dvds!. free wi-fi was offered by way of an apology for losing 25% of our hot tub time, but the quality of wi-fi signal was so poor we might as well have not bothered!
Simon from Goole (03 June 2016)

Beautiful location, peaceful and relaxing
Jill from Herefordshire (03 June 2016)

Lovely tranquil place with friendly staff
Heather from Liverpool (03 June 2016)

We stayed here for five nights, my girls loved that they could see sheep from their bedroom window and it was so close to everything we wanted to do. The lodge is what you expect it to be, modern and clean. We didn't use the tv as we spent our evening on the decking and in the hot tub.. we didn't even miss being slumped on the sofa in the evening because it was just so beautiful outside. I would recommend this place to anyone
Michelle from Eastbourne (03 June 2016)

Most relaxing most luxurious most wonderful holiday. superb, first class. wish I could afford a lodge there
Jo from Liverpool (03 June 2016)

Lovely place, only gripe was wifi doesn't work (i'm guessing due to distance from some of the lodges) but was supposed to be getting away from all that anyway.
Daniel (03 June 2016)

Fantastic location and great for family holiday. Accommodation comfortable and generally good standards but unfortunately the decking furniture was very old and tired - such a shame as it was otherwise very good. Kitchen well equipped except for a lack of drinking glasses - one wine glass for up to 6 people!!
Robert from Bicester (03 June 2016)

The boiler continued to not work after several times maintenance come to fix it. Myself, friend and both children were ill after going in the hot tub.
Rebecca (30 May 2016)

Awesome holidays
Vishal from London (30 May 2016)

This was a trip down memory lane for us. we have stayed before and enjoyed it so much we knew that we would return. . again had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the site, its facilities and the ease of access to so many wonderful attractions. Views in vicinity always breathtaking. Will be back again soon.
Brynley from Cheltenham (30 May 2016)

Lovely place would defiantly save up an come back again . peaceful , friendly , no one bothering you . very clean an the hot tub was a treat .
Alison from Merseyside (27 May 2016)

Park very clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful, small shop selling basic groceries would be a useful addition .
Phil from Northwich (27 May 2016)

Five star !!! booked as a last minute mon - fri break and couldn't have been happier. Excellent accommodation ( hot tub brill ). greeted with a smile and information about the local area. Sunshine for 4 out of the 5 days was a bonus. Will return.
Michael from Preston Lancs (27 May 2016)

Absolutely loved our weekend break, had a amazing weekend with the family , hot tub great and lodge great , definitely will be booking again.
Caroline from Cheshire (16 May 2016)

This is the second time we have stayed at pen-y-garth and the setting is wonderful. bala also has a lot to offer and some lovely walks around.
Gillian from Birmingham (16 May 2016)

Absolutely perfect for a complete rest and visit to climb snowdon - staff extremely helpful particularly "maintenance"manager - couldn't fault pen-y-garth at all
Trudy from Milton Keynes (16 May 2016)

Park very nice , accommodation , nice , but could do with entertainment room , & a little shop on site , not really ideal if you have children , apart from the hot tubs , nothing really to do , unless you have to travel over an hour to the nearest seaside , not everyone wants to drive . . so park could do with more facilities
Karen from Marlow (13 May 2016)

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely and peaceful break.
John from Bolton (09 May 2016)

Very enjoyable. Good clean site. Nice accommodation.
Jonathan from Nuneaton (09 May 2016)

Lovely stay. Warm welcome. Nice views. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
Gita from London (02 May 2016)

Amazing place to stay. great facilities and great location. After climbing snowdon the hot tub was just what we needed.
Danielle from Kent (02 May 2016)

Would be nice to have a club or restaurant on site
Janet from Buckley (02 May 2016)

Amazing place and the staff were fab! . . couldn't have asked for a better, more relaxed weekend away. . . absolutely loved it.
Sue from Swansea (25 April 2016)

Great location for a family weekend away for my 30th. We even brought the dog and our baby! we all had a great time and a chill in the hot tub after plenty of walking!
Joanne from Liverpool (18 April 2016)

Fabulous location facilities fantastic!!!
Jemma from Weaverham (18 April 2016)

Lovely site and lodge. Everything you need was contained in the lodge. Very comfortable.
Maria (11 April 2016)

Hot tub not warm it was freezing cold no central heating
Andrea (11 April 2016)

Location was beautiful. Bala village very quaint.
Kelly (08 April 2016)

I would recommend the site and accommodation but for us, with the exception of travelling to bala it is a bit too far out to visit other places of interest in the area without having to travel for well over an hour. The site would also benefit from a shop selling basics such as milk and bread etc although bala is only a short drive away.
Claire from Tamworth (08 April 2016)

Stayed in the manor house,it was huge. Plenty of room for 8. Hot tub was lovely too.
Kath from Leeds (08 April 2016)

No complaints about the park at all - however no taxis available to go down into bala in the evening which did spoil the overall holiday
Judith (08 April 2016)

Great lodges and very clean wi fi a pit patchy - but was not a big issue would def stay again
Margaret from Manchester (04 April 2016)

Complex clean and welcoming, but had issues with the lodge that could not be sorted quickly. Sometimes no one at reception so had to call and leave an answer phone message but this did not get picked up. The hot tub was not up to temperature and we were told that it took a while to warm up, after two days they took a look at repaired it on the final night it was great, but two days wasted as it was no fun using it. The kitchen extract fan was so greasy that when it warmed up due to cooking it dripped fat down onto what we were cooking and the dishwasher leaked dirty water under the kitchen units. In the main bedroom the light did not work to the dressing area and it had not been cleaned for a long time under the bed.
Michael (28 March 2016)

Loved it
Israr from Luton (28 March 2016)

Excellent break, great lodge, very helpful and efficient staff.
Adam from Lancashire (25 March 2016)

Great, relaxing experience. Me and my family really enjoyed it. We would definately go back and recommend to others.
Hannah (21 March 2016)

No water friday night. No hot water or heating for friday and saturday morning. No working shower either and tiny second bedroom. Really disappointing.
Helen from Derby (21 March 2016)

This was our second visit and we have booked to go again. Such a lovely place for a peaceful break yet close to the town and local attractions. . . cabins are beautiful especially the hot tub. Bala as a town had a water outage and the security guard took the time to come and let us all know. . . office staff are mostly helpful, however our first visit wasn't the most welcoming as we were stuck in traffic so a little late for check in. . only thing that would be a suggestion is to have the facility for a little shop or perhaps from the office to sell the likes of bread and milk etc.. . all in all a wonderful break, would highly recommend and can't wait for our next stay.
Sarah from Cheshire (21 March 2016)

Had a lovely holiday. Would definately recommend x
