We had an amazing break away at pen-y-garth, we visited the santa train in bala and the snow made the weekend magical. A christmas tree in the lodge would have made it more christmassy. We will definitely be returning.
Nicola from Wrexham (11 December 2017)

We love pen y garth and have been going there 2 or 3 time a year for the last few years. Most of the lodges are spacious and very well equipped. The hot tubs are great. we usually visor september thru to march as in high season we feel that it's over priced.
Jacqueline (11 December 2017)

Fab holiday lovely lodge friendly staff only thing was lid on hot tub broke so hard to get on and off but overall fab in a snowy scenery which was amazing
Caroline (11 December 2017)

Beautiful even when snowing. Only complain was there isn't even a small shop on site x
Jan from Liverpool (11 December 2017)

Most enjoyable stay will return again soon and will recommend to all our friends
Angela from Stoke-On-Trent (04 December 2017)

We stayed in lodge 35, it was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and had everything you could require for a holiday away from home. The site is wonderfully quiet and the staff helpful . the hot tub was amazing to sit in and view the stars through the clear sky.
Hilary from Coventry (27 November 2017)

Absolutely beautiful lodge foxglove 4 platinum. Had everything you could thinkg of, clean and hot tub was amazing. Will be back!
Rebecca from Cumbria (24 November 2017)

Lovely site spoilt a little by noisy group further down
Susan from Atherton (20 November 2017)

Absolutely loved the little beak with my family .hot tub was a big hit with us all!. will defo be returning soon if not christmas
Rhys from Mold (20 November 2017)

Delightful lodge, well equipped and very comfortable. The hot tub was a highlight to a very chilled weekend away
John from St Helens (20 November 2017)

Have stayed here before with no problems but this time there was a damp smell in the lodge, also the lid on the hot tub was broke so had to lift lid on and off, reported the smell as soon as we walked into lodge but were told they were fully booked so could not move us.
David (20 November 2017)

Cosy and comfortable, mainly used the lodge as a base while we explored north wales was really impressed with how nice they are inside and the hot tub was unreal to chill in at night
Jack (13 November 2017)

We have stayed in these lodges previously always in a different lodge. . we would go again, because in the main, the lodges have been clean and fairly well presented, but primarily they are glorified caravans and this is reflected in the price of a stay. The lodge park is exceptionally well located for mountain views and its very quiet, a pleasant walk by the lake into town.
Jackie from Lytham St Annes (13 November 2017)

Lovely lodge, hot tub lush, only negative was bed not to comfortable you could feel springs in your back! we were lucky to have a hot tub based at back of lodge , most hot tubs were on front of lodges facing the road through the park not very private.
Dawn from Bridgend (13 November 2017)

Disappointed that no daily hot tub checks were made .we had to report it smelling to reception for something to be done. Also due to ghetto time of year lots of leaves about and although efforts have been made on the decking to prevent slipping we felt that the developed king should have swept prior to arrival as it was slippery on the leaves around the hot tub.
Gary (13 November 2017)

Fantastic little weekend away
Steven from Liverpool (13 November 2017)

Had a really lovely weekend in the foxglove platinum. Beautiful and clean and the hot tub was a great extra. Would definitely stay here again!!
Rachael from Derbyshire (13 November 2017)

Was amazing holiday's. Good price !!! hot tube was something special!!! clean and modern!!! thank you !!! we will return next time !!
Andrius from Old Leake, Boston, Lincolnshire (10 November 2017)

Loved our stay would definately come again, great location not far from bala, lodge was lovely, modern and cosy. Only advice I don’t think you should make people pay for wifi. We didn’t as the majority of reviews stated it didn’t work.
Katie from Manchester (10 November 2017)

We had problems with the hot tub it was leaking and could not use it on our last 2 nights due to water levels and temperature would not be hot enough. This was very disappointing as this is why we booked this lodge.
Dawn from Chester (10 November 2017)

Nice place although was very disappointed with overall accomodation as the images on website are very misleading. Felt as though we were put in possibly an old lodge, which was not similar to the one I had chosen via website. Was not at all what ‘foxglove 4’ looked like online.
Sarah from Whitley Bay (10 November 2017)

Excellent accommodation. warm, polite and friendly staff. would recommend 100%
Carol-Ann from Nottingham (10 November 2017)

Just wanted a weekend away, not too far away drive. This was our third stay, although first time on our own without children.
David from Stockport (06 November 2017)

The lodge was quite shabby and not two years old outside drain pipes were completely faded looked like the lodge had been refurbished, tub was cold on arrival not good,. major maintenance work needed to bring up to a decent standard as was sold as a luxury lodge mattresses where completely flat, very dark road with no pavement to walk into town that was about a mile away and very dangerous at night, would have been even more disappointed if we had paid for summer prices twice what we actually paid, all in all ok but not luxury.
Robert (06 November 2017)

Great lodge well equipped and furnished. Great hot tub. Would like to see some sort of screen around the tub in the form of bamboo or hedge. Great location and would recommend to others. Not a true lodge as all the internal doors are very narrow and there's not a lot of space at the side of the bed.
Antony from Bolton (06 November 2017)

Paid £10 for wifi which we could not use.main bedroom light did not work and hot tap in bathroom was hanging off.also the lights in hot tub did not work
Sarah from Rochdale (06 November 2017)

1st time best experience!
Mohammed from Bradford (06 November 2017)

The place and setting was actually very nice. also hot tub was great and also kids loved the games room. . one thing I would say is I booked to stay in buttercup 4, with a hot tub. . on reflection, looking at pictures we stayed in bluebell which at the time of booking didn't have a hot tub. the lodge is definitely in need of a total revamp and freshening up. wasn't the cleanest I stayed either. the park manager however, was very helpful and did all she could to help us.
Helen from Sheffield (06 November 2017)

Very good however the hot tub was not ready for our arrival and we couldn’t use it till the saturday, and we had travelled along way and just wanted the chill on the friday night so it was a shame.
Zena from Lincolnshire (06 November 2017)

Lodge was beautiful, clean , and in a stunning location , would definitely stay there again .
Joan from Liverpool (06 November 2017)

We couldn’t check in on time. We missed a day of the hot tub because they had to deep clean it but forgot to tell us when we did eventually check in, the cabin was not clean and needed lots of things repaired fitting mostly.
Charlotte from Deeside (03 November 2017)

We really enjoyed our stay at pen-y-garth lodges, last year we enjoyed the foxglove platinum 4 and this year we stayed next door at the foxglove 5 platinum. Both lodges are beautiful, very comfortable and relaxing and immaculately clean and well kept . it is a peaceful site and the grounds are well kept . bala is a great location with plenty of takeaways and places to eat and nice days out nearby. If you feel like 'stop the world I want to get off' come to this site, it's a great escape.
Jane from Widnes Cheshire (03 November 2017)

We had a lovely family holiday at pen-y-garth, in october 2017. The park is located just 5 minutes drive out of the town of bala, nestled in beautiful welsh hillsides. The town is small, but has all the amenities you could need a small supermarket, petrol station, shops, pub's, takeaways. The park was well maintained, clean and tidy, with trees and shrubs growing between the lodges. On arrival the staff were very busy checking people in but were friendly and professional. Other than checking in and out we did not need anything from them as things were brill. The lodge was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and extremely spacious for a family of four and very well equipped. We would definitely recommend pen-y-garth lodge's for people who want a quiet holiday in the countryside, which was perfect for us. Maybe not for people who like lots going on. We would definitely visit again, great value for money.
Michael from Burnley (03 November 2017)

Very relaxing, comfortable lodge, amazing hot tub!
Rachel from Clitheroe (03 November 2017)

It was a wonderful holiday in all, the lodges where very well looked after, the hottub was amazing, and the views overall was spectacular, would definitely recommend to anyone who was to just chill out for a few days.
Shawn from Bridgwater (03 November 2017)

We stayed in a beautiful lodge. This was our second stay at penygarth. Can't wait to return. It is so peaceful.
Collette from North Wales (03 November 2017)

Amazing!
Hayley (03 November 2017)

We had an amazing time at the lodge, fantastic location & very helpful, welcoming & polite staff. Looking forward to my next visit in 2018 :-))
Dawn from Manchester (30 October 2017)

The holiday village was really lovely, the staff were very friendly but the kids clubhouse was very dirty, the pool table was broken, the darts were broken and many of the kids toys were missing. The cycle store was full of staff junk so things had to be moved to allow us to store our bikes. The hot tub was great & the location was amazing but the clubhouse definitely needed some work.
Nigel (30 October 2017)

Lovely location and helpful staff. Lodge was stunning x
Lois from Lampeter (30 October 2017)

Excellent lodge , mattresses could do with replacing ( no 4 lodge ) can feel the springs in the double room ! but overall we enjoyed our stay
Meghan from Isle Of Man (30 October 2017)

Excellent again. Stayed in the same lodge as last year and it had a new wooden floor and new kitchen cupboard fronts
Christine from Wigan (30 October 2017)

Lovely lodge which was clean & spacious. Loved the hot tub. Could have done with more crockery with 6 of us. The kids enjoyed the games room. Would have been perfect if a bar/ shop on site.
Sarah from Newbury (27 October 2017)

Despite initially thinking it was a larger park than I expected it was very peaceful and surrounded by hills. Staff were very helpful on arrival and maintained the park to a high standard. The accomodation was clean and included all the mod cons. There was plenty of seating and comfortable beds. Down the hill was the small village of bala with a lovely lake and it was a great area to access snowdon. Would return to the park.
Leueen from West Midlands (27 October 2017)

We loved our time away. Hot tub wasn’t ready for 24 hours as it has been cleaned which let us down even though we were happy it was clean for us. Caravan was clean and had everything we needed. A tip would be to take towels, soap and basic cooking stuff. Ours was dog friendly number 22 and I can’t wait to return.
Helen from Hartlepool (27 October 2017)

The holiday was good value for money. The lodge was spacious and well equipt. The hot tub was a great addition to the lodge and made the holiday. Our children enjoyed using the games room in the evening. The town was a mile walk away and there are nice walks locally.
Tammie (27 October 2017)

The lodge was perfect and exactly as describe nice and clean. Will deffo be going back asap the views were stunning and to top it off the weather was good to.
Mathew from Nottinghamshire (20 October 2017)

Absolutely amazing holiday. My fiancé and I can’t wait to go back. Great place the fact we could take our dog with us made the holiday more us!
Erin from Holywell (20 October 2017)

The area was nice, the park itself didn’t really have much to do and the lodge we stayed in was directly outside of reception so groundskeeper and cleaners would just abandon their vehicles outside the door so not much privacy. . it’s no big deal but I wouldn’t advise paying for the wifi as you can’t connect to it anyway
Karl (20 October 2017)

Had a fantastic weekend break
Karen (16 October 2017)

Absolutely perfect. Exactly the relaxing weekend we needed and the lodge was stunning. The hot hub was lovely and the water was crystal clear.
Katie from Congleton (16 October 2017)

It was a fantastic holiday love, love, loved it. Hot tub fantastic well worth the money. Great scenery and walks. Only thing I would change is the wi-fi option only able to access it maybe 2 to 3 times after paying for the option.
Jy from Liverpool (16 October 2017)

Absolutely love this place lovely surroundings lodges have everything you need perfect place for a relaxing break
Patrick from Merseyside (09 October 2017)

What a amazing place, its a pity we only went for a long weekend, we are definitely going to go back there next year.
Oliver from Worcester (09 October 2017)

We have both enjoyed our short stay at pen-y-garth lodges, with the lovely scenery & bala lake nearby. It is in an ideal location for day trips to all over north wales, and we will certainly return for another holiday. Hopefully next time for a longer stay.
Pamela from Rainham, Kent (06 October 2017)

It was lovely and peaceful and the surroundings were beautiful.
David from Bradford (06 October 2017)

Great accommodation, situation and amenities.
Brian from Market Deeping (06 October 2017)

Enjoyable week away, there isn't much on the site, that isn't a criticism, simply an observation, we were more than happy. . thanks
Kev from St Helens (06 October 2017)

I had been a little worried before we went to the lodges as had read a few bad reviews. we could not fault it, the hot tub was ready for use as soon as we arrived. although our lodge was a little dated, it was clean and had all the facilities we required for the stay. The park itself was lovely and the staff were helpful. we will definitely go back.
Rachel (02 October 2017)

This is not really a lodge its a static caravan and the 11pm curfew is unreasonable unless you are making excesive noise .
Jinny (02 October 2017)

The lodge was lovely and had everything we needed. The hot tub was lovely to come back to and relax in after a day of sightseeing. We would love to return one day in the future.
Michelle from Wiltshire (02 October 2017)

Beautiful park and area. Lovely helpful staff
Michael from Lancs (29 September 2017)

The lodge itself was absolutely amazing. . I felt that the welcome at the reception was a bit lacking.
Shelley from Bristol (29 September 2017)

The lodge was very comfortable & clean & park well maintained. Just would have liked a few more dog bins!! we had a lovely chilled time at peny garth & the hot tub was just great. We will be back. Thank you all...
Janet from Livetpool (29 September 2017)

Very nice park and lodge was ok. Couple of issues though. Would have liked a shop or something to do on site but there was literally nothing. :-( nice and clean though.
Daniel from Chipping Norton (29 September 2017)

A beautiful well equipped lodge, very spacious.
Andrew from Widnes (25 September 2017)

Lovely house shame that the garden area around the hot tub was not well maintained, old bbq' s from previous guest still there and plant pots full of weeds. Some glasses in the kitchen were cracked and kitchen utensils and equipment sparse when cooking for 6 . the cooker had no grill pan and limited trays and pans. . lounge furniture was tired and worn. . overall we had a good time
Sarah from Wolverhampton (25 September 2017)

Beautiful location. Only one restaurant in the nearby town. No take aways will deliver to the area. Amazing lodge for those that just want to get away from everything and hide, we stayed in a foxglove platinum 4 lodge, it was brilliant, on suite bathroom for the master bedroom, dishwasher so you didn't have to bother dealing with the pots whilst you're supposed to be relaxing. And where can you go wrong when there's a hot tub :)
Jason from Wakefield (25 September 2017)

Great place. Lovely accommodation. Great price and good location. Shame they don't have a shop or bar on site
David from Blackpool (25 September 2017)

Overall we were extremely happy with our stay. We were in the foxglove 4 platinum which is situated well and the hot tub is private however on looking at the other lodges the hot tubs generally face towards each other. The interior is lovely and very clean. . it would be nice to have a little shop or cafe on site however the closest shop is only a 5 minute drive away. . the location could not be nicer. We went with a 2 dogs and a 4month old and there are pram friendly walks and all local inns/cafes and the visitors centre let dogs inside. . I would book again in the future
Linda from Doncaster (22 September 2017)

Very enjoyable holiday, the lodge was very nice and we'll equipped. Setting of the park is good, nice and quiet with good views and access to north wales, not far from bala for supplies. Two downsides to the park, 1. Hot tub is not ready on the first day of your arrival which is hugely disappointing but you can make up for it by using it lots on the remaining days. This does mean on a mon-fri break you can only really use it tues, weds and thurs which is a shame. 2. Depending on which lodge you are in, the hot tub and patio area is not very private. Our lodge was right opposite reception so overlooked by anyone driving in and out or walking when we were outside. It wasn't busy so this didn't effect us on this trip too much but I would seriously consider whether to stay again because of this. If the park was busier then it would not have been private at all which is no good as you want to use the outside space for eating and relaxing, I wouldn't use this area in the lodge we had. I'd suggest asking before booking
Caroline (22 September 2017)

Lovely lodge, very homely, and clean. Nice quiet area. Would definitely stay again.
Emily (22 September 2017)

Beautiful lodge beautiful location. Perfect autumn get away. Lovely place to unwind
Joanna from Cheshire (22 September 2017)

The grounds were lovely as we drove in so we were excited to see our lodge, however it was a bit of an anti climax as our lodge was really not very nice. The outside was dirty, the inside was tatty and the fridge had an unpleasant smell. The sofa's were not very comfortable or good for lounging on which is all we wanted to do on sunday after climbing snowdon. We were disappointed we had spent so much on the lodge and it really wasn't worth the cost we paid.
Ellie (18 September 2017)

The manor house is lovely and well appointed. Spoilt by a lack of maintenance, this house needs some tlc!
Roger from Poole (18 September 2017)

Fabulous lodge with awesome view! loved the hot tub and found it so relaxing. Lovely place will definitely visit again.
Joanne from Newton Le Willows (18 September 2017)

We enjoyed our holiday with no major problems
Michael from Eastbourne (18 September 2017)

Beautiful, had a fantastic time!
Samantha from Bristol (18 September 2017)

On the day of our arrival having traveled 180 miles to be told at 4pm that our cabin was still going through a second inspection and we would have to wait. We were given the keys at 4.25. When my wife opened the oven to cook chips for our meal, she found an oven tray thick with grease. We improvised but did not use the oven again during our holiday. Whoever did the second inspection did not do a very good job. some of the furniture ie settee's, were below standard taking into account the cabin is described as "platinum". otherwise the cabin was big and spacious and had everything you would want. It is warm and cosy.
Roger (15 September 2017)

Lovely lodge, extremely clean and tidy and had everything in it we needed for our holiday. Very good value for money, the park and views were beautiful and it was very close to bala lake
Rachael from Manchester (15 September 2017)

This was our second visit to pen-y-garth, even more enjoyable than our first. Definitely will visit again.
Marjorie from Ashton Under Lyne, (15 September 2017)

Fantastic break in beautiful surroundings with my family
Denise from Wigan (11 September 2017)

We had a lovely 3 night stay at pen-y-garth. The park is small and quiet and perfectly placed for exploration of snowdonia. Bala lake is very close by, complete with a cute miniature railway which is a great way to see some lovely scenery. . . the lodge was spacious and the hot tub spotlessly clean and well maintained. the lodge itself was clean but could have done with a good deep clean (a few dusty areas). the only negative was that the bed was a little too firm for my liking. . . we will definitely be returning!
Laura (11 September 2017)

Very family friendly lodge. Would visit again.
Lisa from Manchester (11 September 2017)

The site is in a beautiful location and the staff were very friendly. . we really liked the fact there were limited facilities but a small shop selling a few basic products potentially would be useful considering it's not quite within a stroll from the town. . also if we were being 'picky' our lodge wasn't immaculately clean. The cutlery drawer had crumbs in, the bathroom floor around door area was dirty. Only little things and it wouldn't stop us from coming back.
Emma from Plymouth (08 September 2017)

Signal beds far to narrow for adults, more facilities for disabled people ;steps into cottages (ramps in stead) . on the plus side the site was very clean and central for exploring other area's of wales .although bala town could do with sum money spent on it ;a leasure center. Pool some wear for the kids when weather not good, adventure park ,hire of bikes for an adventure park with hill and trekking. But overall for two elderly people our break was very good,
Michael from Chelyn Hay Nr Walsall (08 September 2017)

Beautiful comfy lodge really enjoyed our stay at pen y garth beautiful peaceful surroundings and the hot tub really was luxury, will certainly return in the future.
Peter from Port Talbot (08 September 2017)

Fantastic booked for next year before we left
Christine from Pinxton (08 September 2017)

Immaculate lodge with everything we needed and more. the hot tub was fantastic and became morning ritual. Wish the site was more northerly closer to snowdon and coast. But will definitely be back next year
Victoria from Blackwood (08 September 2017)

Loved it, peaceful, family & dog friendy
Jane from Leeds (04 September 2017)

Had a wonderful weekend break here . the lodge was clean spacious the hotub was a lovely added feature which we enjoyed. Such a lovely getaway with beautiful surroundings will definatly be coming back next year for a week next time.
Cheryl from Manchester (04 September 2017)

A four night stay in lodge 22, two adults and a six year old. We had a fantastic time, helped by mostly good weather. Pen y garth is in a peaceful location with great views. The park itself does lack facilities, but for us this wasn't an issue because the lodge was well equipped and we enjoyed getting out and about on each day of our break. Our lodge was excellent and in one of the better plots on the site. Not all are quite as private, for example some have their decking areas and hot tubs to the front, which means facing the road and people walking past. That either bothers you, or it doesn't - but we were pleased we ended up where we did. Inside, the lodge was clean, had pretty much everything we needed and was nicely decorated. Perhaps not as spacious as some i've stayed in, a little more caravan-like you could say, but still a very high standard and perfectly suitable for three or four people. Enjoyed having the hot tub. A little frustrating that it wasn't usable on the first night because the water had been changed, but then at least you know it's genuinely been done - and by the following morning it was up to temperature and bubbling away just fine. All in all, a great place to stay and a stunning part of the country to explore. Would recommend.
Nick from Staffordshire (01 September 2017)

Stayed at pen-y-garth lodges during the summer holidays and the location is beautiful and very quiet with the town of bala only a 5min drive. overall would highly recommend as there are plenty of things to do in the area and the children really enjoyed there stay. the trade off is that it was a 45mins drive to the beach for the kids. The facilities on site are quite limited with only a games room and outdoor play area of note available and it didn't help that wifi was not working or intermittent during our stay but these are only minor points. The cost of the holiday felt a little overpriced due to the limited facilities but would happily stay there again.
Matthew from March (01 September 2017)

Lovely quiet site, would be nice if there had been a small shop on the site for milk etc. chalet needed a good clean, dirt under the sofas, cobwebs hanging from living room ceiling. light bulbs needed changing and lamp shades all missing. small things that could easily have been rectified.
Sue from Knighton (01 September 2017)

Overall a very nice holiday. . very relaxing and beautiful scenery.
Jonny (01 September 2017)

Fabulous lodge and views.
Jackie from Louth (01 September 2017)

Lodge not ready on arrival. It was still being "cleaned" when we arrived. Lodge not cleaned to a high standard unfortunately. we had to wait over an hour. Despite arriving after 4pm. Plenty of room in the lodge. Kitchen very well kitted out with everything you need. Grounds very well kept. Fabulous location and views.
Gillian (01 September 2017)

Stayed here for the fourth time and never been let down by the lodge or the staff
Mark from Manchester (01 September 2017)

It was lovely place but was nothing on it 4 children the park was not good 4 children under 2 or children who have s special needs
Jane from Liverpool (28 August 2017)

Lovely holiday park. Very neat and tidy. Hot tub was what made the stay feel special and lovely view. Reception was very busy but still helpful.
Clare (28 August 2017)

The lodge is the perfect size for a large group. Plenty of space and the private garden is great for kids to run around. There are a few fixtures that need tightening and fixing but this does not in anyway impact on the comfort and enjoyment of the house.
Lindsay from Wirral (28 August 2017)

This was the most relaxing holiday we have had in some time. The lodge was well presented and well equipped. Patio doors let in lots of light and led out onto the decking and hot tub. The hot tub was fabulous!!
Marie from West Midlands (28 August 2017)

Would have been better if a shop was on site.
Lesley from Cambridgeshire (25 August 2017)

Each lodge is on a generous plot and the park is beautifully landscaped and surrounded by wonderful scenery. The lodge itself was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole décor of the lodge was attractive. The hot tub was excellent and we made good use of it. . . there is a dog walk but it is short and boggy. However, there is a lovely forest walk nearby, 5 minutes by car along the road to lake vyrnwy through rhos-y-gwaliau.
Janet from Basildon (25 August 2017)

Well located cabin on a lovely site just a few niggles with maintenance
Sam from Swindon (25 August 2017)

There was an issue with the settee cushion that was never resolved despite numerous reports to the reception staff - in addition the games room was a joke and looked like it had virtually abandoned
Garrie from Sheffield (21 August 2017)

Beautiful setting and scenery staff very helpful
Katie from Norwich (21 August 2017)

Very relaxing stay - really enjoy coming here
Dawn from Bury (21 August 2017)

Good location, terrible wifi. Perfectly ok & would go back. Scenery, location & history of the area made it work for us. Kids' playroom a mess & rubbish backing up but staff helpful.
Mark (18 August 2017)

Great lodges however wi-fi was terrible and shouldn't be charged for.
Karen (18 August 2017)

Well if I am honest based on the advertisment if what it is I believed to be paying for, my expectations must have been height as the reality for very disappointing. I have taken many pictures to show this. My first impressions of the park were good. A nice locations with plenty of scenery to enjoy. As we arrived early we asked if the was a toilet on site we could use. We were politely directed to the games room. This space was not very well maintained. The toilet was usable but wouldn't flush, the room was filthy and most games were damaged or missing. Once we were able to check in the staff advised a delivery has been delayed and no towels and some bedding was not ready. This was not a problem and the cleaners were polite and quick when this arrived a few hours later. The standard of the lodge was not as expected and I was very disappointed. The carpets were filthy and lifting of the ground. The cushions on the sofa need changing (dirty). the freezer drawer was discoloured and one contained loose ice cubes which is very unhygenic. There was a tv dumped in the floor if the main room and the tv attached to the wall did not work. There was also random house accessories just stored on top of the wardrobe which just seems like pointless clutter. For the price a night, the standard of the interior of the lodge was really disappointing. . we then attempted to have a shower, to then find out we have no water. My husband called reception and this was resolved quickly and the team were helpful. . finally the hot tub! also not as we imagined as per the advertisment used as a booking guideline. The view was not the beautiful landscape of countryside as assumed. It also did not have the privacy expected. In fact it's hard to relax by a filthy caravan which that had a fence half it's size staring right at us. Therefore, the beauty we hoped for you could slightly see from behind a large tree which must also contain some sort of flying insect nest. I would suggest raising the fence so that the caravan is not the main point of sight for sore eyes and and the view can meet some of the same standard perceived upon arrival at the park. This would also be good for privacy so we don't feel we could also be watched. . when booking a holiday I always intend to stay somewhere that has the same standard if not better than my own home. the lodge was advertised as superior but the standard was certainly not superior at all.
Patricia from Coventry (18 August 2017)

Excellent quality, beautiful area
David from Neath (18 August 2017)

Fantastic week away ..beautiful surroundings and the hot tub was well needed after the walks
Claire (14 August 2017)

Absolutely amazing :)
Katy from Olney Milton Keynes (14 August 2017)

Hot tub ok, lodge a bit tatty. Lounge carpet dirty and smelled. Kitchen cupboards needed attention. Nasty smell in bathroom. Patio umberella broken. Slats missing in vertical blind. Good quality towels and linen.
Joanne from Darlaston (14 August 2017)

Lovely relaxing holiday, lovely holiday lodge, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Everything you would think of for your acomodation was there. And the spa was an added bonus. Will definitely go back.
Robin from Rayleigh (14 August 2017)

We all had a very relaxing stay, very clean lodge and hot tub was amazing, lovely well kept quiet site, will be returning, no wifi but it was nice to get away from internet for a week.
Christine from Barrow In Furness Cumbria (14 August 2017)

Nice out of the place in mid north wales which we used as a base for site seeing and visiting family. The lodge was very confortable even though we thought they were a bit close together to the others.
Nigel from Basingstoke (11 August 2017)

Would not come back most enjoyable was hot tub if it rained there was nothing to do and only 3 channels worked on tv so ended up buying dvds
Patricia (11 August 2017)

Loved staying here so relaxing and the hot tub just made our holiday we will be booking again
Barbara from Liverpool (11 August 2017)

First impressions were good but we could not sleep the first night due to the terrible bed mattress. We had to lay beach towels over mattress to prevent the springs digging into shoulder blades. I reported this to reception who acted immediately and ordered a new mattress. As the mattress could not be delivered until the following day they sent a quilt to our accommodation to lay on top of the mattress so we could get some sleep that night. it was such a shame to have had this problem but the staff were very helpful and did their best to resolve the situation. . the accommodation was very good, though we couldn't find a baking tray or a medium sized pan and the pair of scissors in the kitchen drawer were unusable. . perhaps, a rolling programme of replacing worn items should be implemented instead of the guests having to report them?. we loved the hot tub and the quiet location of the site. we thought the reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The little childrens play area could have done with some extra tree bark under the swings etc to cut down on the mud (or replace it with resin). and there appeared to be a wooden stake sticking out of ground just outside the childrens play area - not very safe.
Pauline from The Little Childrens Play Area Could Have Done Wit (11 August 2017)

There was a games room on site, but the pool table was broken, the other equipment was a little 'tired' and it could do with a bit of a teenager theme to make it more appealing. we had a leak in the roof of the lodge, which we reported, but nothing was done about it. it must have been known before we arrived as there was a washing up bowl on the wardrobe to catch the rain. a small shop would have been nice. it also say's towels included and we only had hand towels, if I had known that I would have packed some larger towels.
Tracey from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire (11 August 2017)

Pen-y-garth lodges are in need of a cleaning and refurbishment and disappointingly far from the lake. the grounds were very well manicured, units are cleaned as much as could be expected but usage has led to strong odors. staff was very attentive and professional.
Blake (11 August 2017)

The lodge is basically a caravan. not much room compared to other lodges we've stayed in.
Lynsey from Lincolnshire (11 August 2017)

This is a very attractively situated well maintained park. The lodge was in good decorative order and well equipped. It had a dishwasher. Downsides were that the flow of water to the ensuite shower and the heating of that water were both poor and also the wifi which cost £10 for the week was virtually non existent.(it was rather wet and the site info does say that this can affect wifi.
Jane from Barnsley (07 August 2017)

We arrived to a cold hot tub as it had to be cleaned that day, so were advised it wouldn't be up to temperature till the following morning. After turning on the jets the following afternoon the water again became dirty and cloudy so we rang the reception who were closed so we left a message, we were contacted the following morning and had to have it emptied and cleaned again so had to wait another 24 hours for it to heat up. This was very disappointing as the hot tub was main reason for booking. Even though we were advised the hot tub was working fine we are still not convinced, as after being cleaned twice it still didn't seem very clean especially for something that hadn't even been used, it didn't seem to be filtering correctly. . the lodge was lovely, but needed a good clean. Small details such as dirty marks on the carpet, which was easily rubbed off! the coasters and table mats on the table hadn't been wiped since the last occupiers left, and in the bathroom the growt was black and needed a good clean. . the park was beautiful and well maintained, but the children's play area was very disappointing, consisting of one slide and one swing, the second one being broken and removed. This is definitely an area in need of improvement!
Jean (04 August 2017)

Lovely quiet site, good location for exploring north wales. Lodge was very clean and well kitted out although if it wasn't brown it would probably be called a static caravan not a lodge. Despite that I would still return as the site is family friendly and accommodation is a good specification. Parking spaces are on the small side.
David from Wellingborough (04 August 2017)

Stunning location and beautiful, clean, quiet park. Chalet great and well-equipped
Tamsin from Shropshire (04 August 2017)

Hot tub not ready until 2nd day! that was rubbish. Accommodation looking a bit worn!!
Karen from Swindon (04 August 2017)

Well presented lodge, lovely to relax in hot tub after day of exploring
Susan (31 July 2017)

Lovely relaxing place with beautiful scenery. really it is just the lodges with hot tubs there with a children's games room - this could do with some tlc - this is exactly what we like.
Chris from Portishead (31 July 2017)

Lovely lodge and great surroundings
Cath from Wirral (31 July 2017)

Great base to see wales thoroughly enjoyed and would return
Michelle (31 July 2017)

Location was great but on arrival lodge was dusty and dirty beddings. Spent 1 hr to sort twin rooms out.
Firdaus from London (28 July 2017)

All round excellent experience very clean and welcoming lodge
Ralph from Up Holland (28 July 2017)

Got charged an arm and a leg for a damaged step made from off cuts of the decking. Admitted the damage rightfully but disagreed with the rate for a new set. £150?? I would have knocked up a new one whilst my family loaded the car. That easy really but paid £150. Not happy!!! also apartment smelt of a dead carcass on arrival. Spent half a day cleaning!!!
Reshma from London (28 July 2017)

Wonderful, idilic surroundings. Fantastic lodge with a lovely hot tub.
Caroline from Batley, West Yorkshire (28 July 2017)

No doubt, it's a nice location but the cottages are too closely placed with poor privacy and the hot tubs are located in the front with absolute no privacy. . no marking of no entry boards on internal roads that caused confusion. Pictures are deceptive and appear spacious. Though well maintained, bedrooms are too small. . overall, it was not as exciting as we expected.
Customer 138 from Solihull (24 July 2017)

Park was very quiet, lodges were stunning, beds were comfty, very spacious. Could do with a small shop on site, . hot tub was lovely very hot and easy to control, but think it could have done with a clean sadly I got a nasty ear infection from the water
Paula from Tonbridge (21 July 2017)

The holiday was the best
Abdulaziz from Saudi Arabia (21 July 2017)

Great place to stop good for walking and local areas. staff when asked were very helpful
Stephen from Stoke (21 July 2017)

We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The accommodation and facilities were fantastic and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We had everything we needed and had a wonderful break.
Louise from Derby (21 July 2017)

Could do with a shop on site
Colin (21 July 2017)

Great site but a little too far from a lot of activities that we had booked.
Carol from Montrose (21 July 2017)

All good other than no hot water on and off due to a boiler problem, advised on arrival the the boiler was off and showing lock out and need resetting. Problem was not resolved all week other than the local site engineer looking at it. Still required a gas engineer when we left. Very disappointing no one would listen to my opinion considering it is my day time job to maintain customers heating hot water systems and previously qualified in domestic and commercial gas boilers.
David from Stowmarket Suffolk (21 July 2017)

We've been to this park before, and loved it. Visited again for a last minute weekend break. We stayed in the buttercup 4 this time. The lounge and kitchen area is very nice and modern, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are in need of an update. Also, the windows look like they've not been cleaned for about a year. However, we love the park and the setting, and the hot tubs and we would definitely return!
Shaun from Derbyshire (17 July 2017)

Awesome place to stay, loved every minute, beautiful surroundings and the hot tub was amazing. The lodge was immaculate and better than any place I have stayed. The staff are friendly and so helpful. I can't wait to stay at pen-y-garth again.
Joanna from Manchester (17 July 2017)

Lovely place to stay. Lodge was very clean and tidy. Could use a little more equipment in the kitchen but was very nice base
Sarah (14 July 2017)

Loved my little break. The lodge was spacious and comfy. We took our dogs and my one let down was, yes there was a fence enclosing the lodge.. but no gate! not very dog proof or safe. Triple check there is a gate as I rang to check and was assured the lodge was pet safe.
Kathryn from Bradford (13 July 2017)

Lodge in excellent condition, clean throughout. Hot tub clean and ready to use on arrival. Site is quiet, nice views and well maintained. No problems, no hassle, what more do you want?
Michael from Shetland (10 July 2017)
