Nice quiet surroundings, good weekend.
Michele from Camberley (02 October 2016)

The cottage and grounds were lovely and good value for money. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Stephanie from Weymouth (30 September 2016)

Nice and peaceful everyone friendly and helpfull. Nothing bad to be said.
John from Hunston (30 September 2016)

Great, relaxing holiday, just wish the bar/bistro opened sunday's
Brendan from London (16 September 2016)

Well I stayed at otter falls in september this year, yes the cottage was clean and tidy, but the shower was running hot and cold and when it was hot there was no pressure. very remote in middle of nowhere ,the bizztro shut to early in the evening so did the shop meant if you run out of bathroom stuff you were stuffed. Nothing to do after 9 pm , our dvd player didn't work we were stuck watching chap tv. would of been nice to have wifi in the lodges something to do in the evening.
Jennifer from Bicester (16 September 2016)

Beautiful and quiet surroundings but. Amenities poor -'putting green and games room' very poor, cottage reasonable but beds too small and decoration could have done with updating. Bulb missing and curtain fitting missing. Two of us felt that quality of food at our only visit to the onsite bistro was extremely poor .
Andrew from New Milton (09 September 2016)

Lovely n peaceful. Beautiful scenery. Nice accommodation. Fishing could have been better.
Jeanette (09 September 2016)

Nice and quiet beautiful surroundings
John from Cardiff (02 September 2016)

2nd time and can't wait to go back. So peaceful and fishing is excellent.
Karen from Hemel Hempstead (13 August 2016)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at otterfalls. the cottage we stayed in (no 1) was small but had everything we needed for the week. the site overall was very well kept, very clean and in a beautiful location. we visited a number of different seaside locations during our stay, all within an hours drive. we stumbled across a small seaside town called beer - definitely worth a visit. . . we would definitely look to return to otterfalls in the future.
Rachel from Ossett (12 August 2016)

Lovely location surrounded by countryside. We had days out at:. honiton which is a lovely town and lots of antique shops and out of town supermarkets. Exeter (recommend getting the park and ride which is cheap) lovely city with pretty waterfront and good to explore. Good museum. Exmouth which has big sandy beach. Sidmouth which has very nice town and beaches. Lyme regis. We went mackerel fishing. Town very nice to wander. Beach good.
David from Chester (12 August 2016)

Accommodation was a bit tired. minor maintenance was required, but had been outstanding for some months judging by others comments.
Margaret (06 August 2016)

Lovely relaxing place .good fishing .hot tub lovely . could do with on site shop opening longer /better stocked otherwise car is required to get to nearest shop .would recommend for a relaxing break .
Lisa from Newent (06 August 2016)

The surroundings were perfect and would love to stay in one of the lakeside lodges next time. The staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome. The location is excellent, well situated, so we were able to drive a short distance to a number of different other locations. We had a wonderful time and would definitely like to stay again and recommend to friends and family.
Monika from Reading (05 August 2016)

Had a lovely holiday cottage was great and well equipped. Swimming pool and area was kept lovely and clean. surroundings were very peaceful and relaxing. . only problem during the holiday was poor internet connection.
Maggie from Ringwood (05 August 2016)

Clean, tidy, a bit over priced especially when electric gas etc are extra. Brilliant place to take dogs. the beauty and therapy lady was lovely and fantastic at her job made better by very good prices.
Sarah (30 July 2016)

Great relaxing place to stay. Dog friendly too.
Julie (22 July 2016)

Although the actual farmhouse we stayed in was lovely,,like a home from home,,had everything we needed,,was clean and well equipped. It was a bit too rural for us,,you definitely need a car to get about. The pool was brilliant as we had our young grandson with us and it was perfect size,,the walks around the site were lovely and picturesque. However the "bistros" needs some attention. Food wasn't very appetizing,,lack of drinks,,,ordered two rounds,,six adults,,then they'd run out of beer. And closed at 9:00pm,,,,not good if you want to sit outside on a warm evening. And closed two evenings,,,considering it was well into the holiday season it should be open more and a little longer.
Debbie from Manchester (16 July 2016)

Brilliant holiday
Marcia from Kingswinford (15 July 2016)

Well maintained site and excellent accommodation. Would definitely stay again.
James from Halesowen (01 July 2016)

Lovely setting, so peaceful, views across the lake. looking forward to returning again in september.
Linda from Portsmouth (01 July 2016)

The surroundings were lovely but the location was quite a distance from everything meaning we had to drive every day. Wouldn't put us off staying again though as the cottage we had was lovely. . only other downside was that the pool was a bit too cold and my youngest daughter (4 months) couldn't go for her first dip. The rest of us braved it though.
Carol from Aylesbury (24 June 2016)

Great time fishing, dog walking and generally relaxing. Tip for fishing - bread flake on the top..
Anthony (17 June 2016)

Fantastic holiday! great value accommodation, clean and well maintained. Pub food very disappointing
Charlotte from Ilfracombe (03 June 2016)

The location and staff were absolutely excellent, very friendly. The restaurant was good too. the swimming pool was lovely. However, summerhay cottage internally was tired and disappointing.
Vicky from London (30 May 2016)

Beautiful area , friendly ,helpful staff. shop open for only a couple of hrs a day, though this was out of main season. .
Gail from Warwick (27 May 2016)

I love this venue, everything about it makes for a perfect holiday. If you have dogs there is an abundance of walks straight from the site and you don't need to use your car again for the whole of your stay if you don't want.
Andrea from Leicestershire (16 May 2016)

Beautiful cottage with amazing surroundings, staff so friendly and helpful in helping us surprise our friend for his 30th! large cottage definitely recommended for a bigger group of people
Michala from Bury (16 May 2016)

Tracy from Coventry (28 March 2016)

Paulo from Reading (28 March 2016)

Beautiful place - calm and serene. Perfect place to relax and enjoy country side!!
Vinod (13 March 2016)

We were staying out of season but the place felt closed down - we could only collect bread in a 20 min window, and reception had very limited hours. The aspect I found very off putting was the amount of tatty notices telling me what to do and not do on my restful weekend break. The location was lovely and the cottage dated but fine, but I would not return as no effort was made I felt an inconvenience
Jo (22 February 2016)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at otterfalls. The cottage was beautiful with everything you could want. Having the pool just opposite our cottage was a massive bonus and the friendly staff couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely return and recommend the properties to friends and family.

We stayed at otterfalls over new year. The surroundings and accomodation was excellent as was the added benefit of an indoor swimming pool for the kids. The only downside (and it was minor) was that the bar/bistro and some other facilities were not open at this time of the year.

This was a lovely setting but the shop was closed, the restaurant and bar were closed, and the wifi didn't work. Having to take a meter reading at the end to pay for electricity and gas was bizarre!

We had a brilliant weekend at otterfalls. The fact that the cost for three nights was the same as for two meant we could stay until the end of sunday before we left meant we were able to have a full weekend without having to check out of the cottage early morning. . . the pool was brilliant -i think we were the only people there using it and the sauna an extra treat. . location was beautiful with lovely walks from the centre (even in the foul weather we had). . . the cottage was well furnished and supplied with plenty of equipment for the four of us, plus two other friends staying in another cottage, to eat together.
Katharine from Yeovil (16 November 2015)

Really good. Would go again!

A comfortable cottage just right for two. Site is well laid out and individual cottages/lodges private though close together. All members of staff encountered were friendly and helpful.
Anthony from Ruskington (25 September 2015)

Had just the most relaxing holiday with like minded people. we were looking for a place we could take our pet dog. Some many other residents had their pets. Fab walks, relaxing surroundings, a nice eveing bistro 5 nights a week to eat, meet, and dog friendly. the staff were just so helpful. I like cooking so on nights the bistro was not open, we took a 15 minute trip to honiton were they were fab local shops, butchers, and supermakets, to make a simply delicios meal or two. most people we spoke with had been there before, most between 6 and 10 times, which speaks volumes. Nearest pub bout a mile. shops even further. a very basic shop on site with limited opening hours. but it's our kind of place and planning our return holiday.

We had a lovely stay at sweethay cottage. Beautiful surroundings and the staff were friendly and helpful. Within 15 mins drive of some of the prettiest villages and beaches england has to offer. . if we had any criticism it would be that the bed and sofa wasn't particularly comfortable, but that aside the cottage had everything we needed and having a lovely log fire was a bonus.

This is a superb venue in a pretty location. The facilities available are excellent though the bistro was closed for part of the time we were there due to staffing shortages. Didn't use the swimming pool / sauna, putting green or tennis court, but they looked well maintained. Staff were very helpful. We would be delighted to go back again and I would have awarded a higher score if the bistros had been open more.

Didn't use the swimming pool / sauna, putting green or tennis court, but they looked well maintained. Staff were very helpful. We would be delighted to go back again and I would have awarded a higher score if the bistros had been open more.

This location was very nice, a small setting that was very quiet. The pool is a great facility, does get a little crowded as it is popular. The electric and gas are by meter reading at the end of the holiday, you pay for what you use. Not a bad idea and it makes you look at what you leave turned on. Very reasonable charge. I fished with my son which was extra, the larger fish are hard to catch. Remember maggots and worms are classed as live bait and therefore not allowed. Try spicy sausage it attracted the larger carp. Over all a relaxing location a great escape if you want to get away from it all.

We've been here a few times before, but this time was the first that we'd been a bit disappointed. the games room needs a serious over-haul. the pool table has a large cross-shaped rip in the middle, the cues are damaged (no tips or chalk). at least they have wi-fi in there now. (2mbit due to the rural location). the book case in there is warped and falling apart. . the indoor pool is fine and the table tennis in the next room was ok, but bring your own bats as theirs have been damaged. it was too wet that week to do putting, but in the past it's been fun. . the cottage was suffering from a bit of damp in the corners behind the bed, was full of cobwebs and spiders and the carpet in the bathroom smelled of urine. the cleaning team have really let the place down. . don't get me wrong - we've enjoyed staying here in the past and would definitely recommend it to others if it were cleaner. I hope it was just that they were having a bad week. . the location and setting is really nice. the on-site lakes are great for walking around and the whole place is really peaceful.

For the first time ever the reality was better than the photographs! gorgeous cottage, we were in the haywain it had everything we needed down to a clothes airer! necessary as there was 8 of us. Take your own towels. Spitting distance to the pool which was great for the kids but a bit cold in the water for me.
Natalie from Birmingham (14 August 2015)

Had a lovely holiday at otter falls with my wife and 3 children. We only stayed for a week but would loved to have stayed longer. The surroundings are beautiful and the wildlife is amazing. The kids loved the ducklings and the heron. On a clear night the stars are not to be missed. I wish I had a telescope. . . day trips require a bit of travelling as there isnt a much locally. . the on site pool is nice and was not crowded. . we didnt use the sauna, ping pong, tennis or golf course. . next time we'll try a bit of fishing. . gas and electricity are extra. Was £7 for the week payable by cash or cheque only.
Stuart from Reading (08 August 2015)

Perfect holiday to get away from it all, the site is very well laid out and so relaxing. It's great to look out over the lakes from the cabin balconies and watch the ducks .. (they're very partial to tinned sweetcorn). also the site has swimming pool, table tennis and the pub/restaurant serves great food. . . it's also a great base to see local attractions. We went to torquay (english riviera) via shaldon & teignmouth, sidmouth, dawlish, beer (the fishing village), the fantastic abbotsbury tropical gardens and animal farm (with 58 guinea pigs and sheep racing), hestercombe gardens, yeovilton air museum and the nearby town of honiton has plenty of shops.
Andy from Hull (08 August 2015)

Beautiful location!. found the staff very helpful and friendly. the cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable. . we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend otter falls to everyone.

We had a lovely stay in ottercottage 3. It is only a little bit cold, because you have not so much sunshining in the cottage. Next time I will choose another one.

Paul from Shrewsbury (25 July 2015)

We have just returned from a weeks holiday with 2 children. Beautiful lodge and wonderful surroundings. Will definitely come back again.
Claire from Orpington (25 July 2015)

Second year running, two weeks at long barn.. location and setting is great, the only 'but' is the state of the accomodation. I believe that the owners can afford a thorough clean up and lick of paint! I needed to point out that the windows were covered in dead flies / cobwebs first time around, and this was dealt with, but it seemed like the carpets hadn't been cleaned by the second stay which was disapointing but didn't spoil the holiday.

Loved otter falls peaceful holiday in amazing surroundings
Karen from Hemel Hempstead (24 July 2015)

Quiet and relaxing, and within easy reach of a lot of places to visit. we stayed in one of the lake side lodges which was immaculate.
Cheryl from Basingstoke (24 July 2015)

Lovely location. Shame reception is open for limited time, although this is highlighted on arrival. Friendly and helpful staff. Things to do if not going out. Small selection of items available to buy from reception eg bread, newspaper. Although local pub is about 3 miles away and honiton is about 5 miles away. Bistro/bar closed couple of days a week which is a shame as no other local takeaway. Suitable for families or couples.
