Nice spot but site needs some tlc.
Darren from Langholm (27 October 2017)

Road to car. Road to caravanvery narrow. Not much to entertain the kids
Lynn from Ayrshire (20 October 2017)

Had a really good stat, caravan was lovely, apart from curtain pole landing on my head when I opened the door when I arrived, still would definately go back,i was there from mon to friday, was given a voucher for food over £10,don't no why they gave me it as bar only open on weekends at this time of year
Lynda from Cockburnspath (13 October 2017)

Great location for a quiet holiday, very nice park and very tidy, food great at the duck or grouse highly recommend trying it out, we would definitely go back
Jodie from Hawick (09 October 2017)

Area nice enough, caravan had a smell of dogs. Good enough size. Bar area was fine. Food ok and girl in bar worked very hard. Swimming pool to yourself for around an hour, although floors quite wet. Beautiful setting and most of caravans owned in site
Maureen from Paisley (25 September 2017)

Awesome trip cheers.
Ben from Fleetwood (16 September 2017)

We came at end of season. Very peaceful and quiet but a bit rough round the edges. For example the swimming pool needed some attention. The steps were broken making is awkward to get in and out, also the toilets weren't up to standard cleanliness wise. The caravan was nice and it was very beautiful countryside. Considering there was no shops in a local village for miles I feel there should be an on side stocked shop.
Joanne (25 August 2017)

We were geared up for the worst after reading some of the reviews and it did not help not having visited scotland previously. We arrived at the park after 8 long hours drive from england, sharp 4pm and the staff were getting our caravan ready. It took them extra 10 minutes to get the keys but they treated us to free drinks in the bar whilst we waited for the keys. What a wonderful gesture!!. to be honest this was our first country park visit with two young children and our previous caravan holidays with children have been in leisure parks. A total contrast and you need to research in advance the difference between the two to avoid any disappointments. . its not as busy as the big leisure parks and if you are after a bit of a quiet and relaxing retreat away from busy world, it is for you. We loved the fact that they had a small swimming pool where we can lock the door from inside, draw the curtains and dip in together. We just loved it!!. most staff were helpful and keen to get us involved in different activities. . I mentioned that we had to drop the childrens bikes home due to the long journey and a worker named stuart took me to the bike shed to select bikes for the whole family. He got us all on to the bikes and bless him adjusted the seats and helmets too. . I know you are thinking that it must have cost us a bomb to rent all these bikes for a week, well actually it is all free for the guests. We expressed our desire to do some fishing whilst we were in fishing paradise and bingo he got us some rods from home. We travelled as suggested to a tackle shop in girvan to buy the fish bait etc.. yes we managed to catch some 33 mackerel. Awesome experience for children. Next time we will be back for some more fishing, perhaps trout or even sea bass. . . we participated in a few other free activities in the park like archery and baking lesson for children. Missed the film!!. we were so excited with the whole thing i.e living rural life and decided to travel to one of the sister parks 39 miles away where we did some horse riding ( not too expensive £12/half hour). we also figured out that the stenaline was nearby and decided to take a day trip to belfast. Managed to buy cheap online tickets online £10/person return. The on board entertainment was awesome for children. Wonderful cruiseliner with room for over 600 people. We had free face painting for children on board and they watched a film each way as the journey is 2.5 hours. During our stay we visited portpatrick, stanraer, turnberry farm. Ayrshire simply rocks- simple people, simple life. Coastal drive everyday to stanraer or even girvan was just heavenly. . . caravan and park- children loved going up and down the small hills and being on their own in the park till 9pm in the evening which we wouldn't normally do where we live. Everyone looks out for everyone and the park is very safe. Children actually asked us on the first day when they noticed children playing on their own till late- quote '' do these children not have any parents''. . we were given a lovely brand new caravan with all the facilities one could ask for and johnny the manager personally guided us to it in his little electric ferrari!!. . I will walk outside every few days to pick some farm eggs and drop the money in the box. . all in all a totally different experience and we wished that we lived nearby so that we can have our own caravan on the park where we could return every few months, but unfortunately for us it is going to be at least once a year now!! . . lagganhouse/ayrishire we will come back to see you soon.
Muhammad from Bimringham (12 August 2017)

Very disappointing holiday with none of the activities listed actually at this park.
Heidi from Chester (12 August 2017)

When we arrived we were told waiting on part for swimming pool.never got swim till thursday but I found it too cold to use. Sauna was not working but was advised we could use sauna on owners room.
Lorraine from Renfrewshire (11 August 2017)

The staff where all very friendly and helpful. However the caravan itself was old and unclean. We had problems with our water, and a massive leak from the shower. Both were fixed quickly by the friendly staff, but it does have a negative impact on your relaxation. The caravan itself was a bit dirty , with remnants left on toilet brushes which left one bathroom smelling foul. The setting is lovely, very tranquil and the facilities were all fine.
Darren (29 July 2017)

Disappointed not enough activities on park, shop was closed ,no bike hire which was stated on your activity list ,teen room was a small room with nothing in it. Pub /restaurant rarely open.
Sandra from Irvine Ayrshire (21 July 2017)

Shop was shut due to no staff o. . swimminh pool was not heated and was freezjng cold. Nice area. Clean park and holiday home. Had to travel nearly an. Hour for most listed activities
Linda from Glasgow (14 July 2017)

Outstanding location, very clean site and exceptionally helpful staff.
Claire from Glasgow (29 May 2017)

Caravan covered in pet hair. Beds with plastic coated mattresses. Pool area in need of renovating and shower area dirty.
Jackie from Glasgow (26 September 2016)

Nice relaxing weekend quality time with the family
Shelley from Airdrie (26 September 2016)

Great short break with family. For sure will back there
Monika from Edinburgh (19 September 2016)

No staff in reception on the sunday of stay. waited 30 minutes and had to go back in the afternoon. otherwise a perfect break, peaceful, good facilities and great for kids.
Deborah from Rotherham (03 September 2016)

The accommodation was very basic but perfect with 3 little ones and we were really only there to sleep and eat the surrounding area is beautiful - swimming was great that you book the pool to yourself with the little ones it meant changing and dressing much easier
Samantha from North Yorkshire (29 August 2016)

No facilities for children, other than run down play area. Advertised as having kids room and teen room, both non existant. Indoor pool area run down and in need of investment. Outdoor areas well landscaped and looked after.
Robert from Salford (27 August 2016)

Pleasant and quiet surroundings. Being able to book the indoor pool exclusively for you is a big plus point. Good pub with restaurant and good deals/prices. They offer entertainment too. Only real negative for me was lack of wifi. The site apparently has wifi but it was out of order. I would still book it again though as overall it was well worth the money for a pleasant getaway.
Andy from Mauchline (15 August 2016)

Beautiful location. friendly staff. just not much for children to do.
John from Congleton (15 August 2016)

Enjoy it
Bernard (12 August 2016)

40 minutes late getting in caravan no sheet on double bed the play area for kids is long due an overhall if yous want quiet this is place to go wont ever be back
Colin from Perth (12 August 2016)

Enjoyed our holiday and will return again. Supermarket 15min journey in either direction which ain't bad. Took dog with us!! thought caravan would be dingy but pleasantly surprised. Would've preferred to have bit of decking round van for sake of kids. Phone signal not great for internet but wifi was worse. All in all will definitely be returning.
Athony from Saltcoats (22 July 2016)

The caravan was lovely, however the double quilt seemed damp and was a bit smelly. we had to buy an air freshener for the bedroom. the radiator in the bathroom could not be switched off and was really hot all of the time. Most of the caravans appeared to be privately owned and not like a usual holiday venue. the park itself is about 3 miles from the nearest main road, and a car is essential for getting about. The double bed could do with a new mattress as you could feel the springs.
Elizabeth (15 July 2016)

Had a brilliant time here with kids caravan spotless and the surroundings are beautiful !
Yvonne (15 July 2016)

The staff were very helpful and friendly. . the site is quite out of the way . very quiet and relaxing.
Mark from Stalybridge (02 July 2016)

A very peaceful site with friendly staff
Paul from Preston (28 March 2016)

Fantastic spacious caravan, although a bit cold as no central heating. Great value for money though and very peaceful location. Amenities not great and could be better but depends on what you are looking for I suppose. Swimming pool was awesome getting all to yourself for the hour slot.
John from Glasgow (19 October 2015)

We booked a cheap deal away so it was good value for money. The staff couldn't have been more helpful the location was perfect.
Karen from East Kilbride (16 October 2015)

Apart from the flies in the caravan we had a lovely stay. The childrens park area could do with being updated a bit too. The pool is good that you get it to yourself just beware that it is 3ft at its shallowest.
Gerard from Kilbirnie (16 October 2015)

Very good park. We would visit again. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Debbie from Glasgow (16 October 2015)

We enjoyed our stay very much, the caravan was immaculate with everything we needed. The shop was never open but we were there at the end of season! the bar also left a lot to desired. The site itself was lovely very quiet and private where we were. We would certainly return.
Patricia from Alston Cumbria (09 October 2015)

Ideal for a quiet weekend however if you are looking to call in a take away as not much but a tucksjop on site. Be prepared for a delivery charge of £27 before you order. Swimming pool was enclosed in what can only be a small but therefore got to book sessions
Duncan from Stirling (28 September 2015)

Lovely surroundings, beautiful, only drawback is it is miles away from anywhere, great for a quiet, relaxing break. Staff very friendly and helpful, and the bar lets dogs in.
Charlotte from Manchester (31 August 2015)

Located in the middle of nowhere. Need a car to go anywhere. Caravan very basic with cupboard doors, cooker switches etc falling off. Also the smell in caravan was awful but finally died away the next day. It must have been a choked drain and downpour of rain overnight must have unblocked it.
Roberta from Lesmahagow (28 August 2015)

We booked this holiday last minute and didn't really know what to expect for the money we paid. This holiday was the perfect break away from it all that we needed. It was peaceful with beautiful scenery and the caravan appeared to be brand new. Loved the fact we had the pool to ourselves for the hour
Nichola from Llandudno (28 August 2015)

We had a lovely time at lagganhouse, we asked for a quiet location and it was super. The staff were lovely and helpful and we had a good peaceful rest. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
Maria from Cumbria (28 August 2015)

We had a wonderful time and have already booked to return during the next school holidays.
Jason from Havant (17 August 2015)

No onnsite entertainment once a week on a saturday not good enough . no where to eat ! pool booked up all week ! made the best of time here but couldn wait to leave! took best part of an hour to find decent food gaff. Then same getting back tea took three hours was spendin more time driving around !
Peter (07 August 2015)

Great holiday if your looking to get away from it all. Car is a must. 3 miles from main road. Countryside all roundabout. Only downside I felt was not enough things for kids to do. Although there is a big swing park.
Burns from Glasgow (03 August 2015)

The van was clean and well resourced. The surroundings are beautiful. There wasn't a lot of amenities on site other than a well stocked shop and a very small pool. We didn't use the bar as it didn't do food. The staff were lovely and helpful and stuart went out of his way to cope with our very late arrival. We had a great long weekend!
Dawn from Glenrothes (02 August 2015)

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is peaceful and quiet, a real back to nature experience.
Naomi from Glasgow (24 July 2015)

On holiday with 3 teenagers, no facilities apart from swimming. Liked being able to book pool for our group.
Agnes from Coatbridge (11 July 2015)

We had a fantastic week at lagganhouse, in fact we negotiated an extra night as we didn't want to leave. I you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place. its pretty remote so you do need a car but I can't imagine how you would get thee in the first place without anyway.. there is a bar on site and I think they do have some entertainment which is not our thing so we didn't try it. there is a small but well stocked shop and a swimming pool which you can book for an hour just for your family. We stayed on the very edge of the park next to the woods which suited us just fine. if you are looking for a park you can spend your days at this might not have enough for you but if you want to get out and about and have a lovely place to stay as a base this is great. the staff are really friendly and helpful and even did our washing when we decided to stay the extra day. i'm sure we will be back.

Many years since we had been here. Lots of changes. A place for us to relax at the less busy times of the year.changes to lounge bar not to our liking, but may suit other people. Staff good.

Jane from Abington (04 May 2015)

The facilities are all at the sister site which is a 40 min drive away! there was no transport to take you there and nothing for the kids to do. Not what I expected!
Jane from Cumbernauld (17 April 2015)

Despite being told that there would be entertainment every night there was not any entertainment at all when we were there, there was nothing for the children to do apart from the pool and the park which couldnt be used if it was wet.no good if you dont have transport as no transport to take you to nearest town which is miles away.
Tracyanne from Alexandria (17 April 2015)

Overall enjoyed our stay. Perfect location. Only negative would be we couldn't get in the pool at any time in our 5 day stay - it was all booked up!!

Lovely break beautiful woodland walks, staff are lovely, the dead flies in the caravan meant we had to clean first and the swimming pool is slimy, the good definitely outweigh the bad we had a lovely time with family friendly entertainment and lovely staff. Perfect for a family break. the surroundings sold the site and are currently under development when it is finished it will be lovely. Just avoid the wires popping out of the ground! I just hope it never turns into one of these butlins style campsites as it will loose all of it's charm.
Angela from Erskine (06 April 2015)

We found the surrounding area lacking in places of interest to visit. This was our first visit to scotland and we were looking forward to seeing beautiful countryside and places of interest but unfortunately this didn't live up to our expectations.
