Family Holidays at Kingsdown Park - Deal, Kent

Kingsdown Park in Kent sleeps between 4 and 6 people, with the accommodation being apartments and lodges. The panoramic coastal views, the spacious wooded site and cliff top location make Kingsdown a very special choice. The park offers the perfect mix of facilities to complement your holiday. The indoor swimming pool and bistro have been recently refurbished and the park can even pack you a picnic lunch for your day out on the park's privately owned beach!

Golf, riding and watersports are nearby for you to enjoy. The traditional Kent seaside resorts of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate are just a short drive away. For the more adventurous, the delights of a cross-channel trip beckon.

Due to steep gradients, car parking and steep internal stairs in the lodges, the park is not suitable for wheelchair users or visitors with mobility difficulties.

Ferry bookings are available from the park reception, or you could take a trip in the Channel Tunnel.

Fantastic new years eve party but could be a lot more going on for other 3 nights. There was nothing open at all on new years day which was very bad considering there was 60 of us
William from Canvey Island (03 January 2015)

We were very disappointed at the lack of entertainment, despite being told there would be entertainment there was nothing on offer whatsoever. In fact even the bar area closed on xmas and boxing day.
Tracey (27 December 2014)

The break made a very special christmas for the whole family
Mark from London (27 December 2014)

We went for christmas and found the park very nice, shame about the meter in the lodge being very expensive especially in the winter. Not really anything for young children to do.
Toni from Bedfordshire (27 December 2014)

Cold. Spent 30gbp in 2 days on heating
Paul from Warrimoo (15 December 2014)

Old and weary accommodation, seen better days, [the inside was like a time warp from the 70's .. plus do not like the metered heating & electricity - extremely expensive and inefficient heating. did not appreciate the uphill struggle to the cabin on foot - I have a weak heart.
Margaret from Southend-On-Sea (06 December 2014)

Very bad access to car park
John from Bradford (28 November 2014)

Us as a group were there for work in folkstone.we stayed one week in one lodge and the second week in another. Both lodges were fantastic.we gave the facilities a 7 out of 10 because we only see the swimming pool as we went out of season so the bar wasnt open.would we stay there again ..most definately.
Hayley from Kent (28 November 2014)

Absolutely brilliant but a shame the facilities weren't open for our stay. The staff were helpful as there were 16 of us staying in 3 apartments - they made us all feel welcome and managed to keep us all close.
Jason from Kent Strood (24 November 2014)

Lovely, a very unique holiday home. cosy, clean and comfortable. lovely sitting out areas for when the weather is warmer.
Customer 10 (21 November 2014)

Would highly recommend the site, my husband and I were very satisfied even though it was out of season.
Jean from Wisbech (15 November 2014)

Excellent, people,place,price,possibilities. Thanks.
Julian (10 November 2014)

I marked down on facilities only because although I went in november I thought the restaurant was still open and it wasn't so I can't mark it
Ann from East Grinstead (07 November 2014)

Loved my holiday here it was a little bit out the way but lovely park which was well kept
Valerue from Bexhill-On-Sea (07 November 2014)

Nice park could do with a freshen up around the play area
Sean from Colnbrook (03 November 2014)

Beautiful, wonderful holiday!!!!!!!!!!
Eileen from London (03 November 2014)

There were not many facilities for children from 3 years. We were not allowed to use our ball games and there was a hiring fee for tennis, etc. There was hardly any entertainments for the children for half term holiday.
Peter (01 November 2014)

Quite but good
David (31 October 2014)

Club a little old fashioned
Mary from Nuneaton (27 October 2014)

Very nice park on a fantastic location. . just one thing: maybe al little more lorries to get the luggage from the car into the house and back, because everbody likes to use them at the same time. Mayby more metal ones and less wooden ones.
Confirmed Holidaymaker from Domburg, Netherlands (24 October 2014)

Lovely village, clean tidy holiday park with helpful staff. Short drive to deal beach. Three local friendly pubs providing extra food options
Mark from Rye,East Sussex (24 October 2014)

The park needs to be clearly sign posted. The club house needs to be advertise the opening hours. We went to go to the clubhouse at 9.30 on the friday night and it was shut.
Tanya (20 October 2014)

Very good break, would definitely return.
Susan from Bromley (04 October 2014)

I have already written to hoseasons customer services concerning our experiences at kingsdown. the site is very difficult to find, situated in a small village with narrow roads and no visible signage. we would not go there again. the staff however were extremely kind and helpful. there is not on site shop and we found the restaurant facilities limited.
Janet &Amp; Roger from Salisbury (27 September 2014)

The lodge needed up dating the bar was not open past 7.30 on most night's which is poor when they was a lot of guests staying on site .wifi was advertised but was only available in the bar which was closed half the time the same with reception and pool closed at 5 when most of the guests where coming back from there day out they don't have a clue how to run a business if I ran mine like that i'd be out of business
Elizabeth from Torquay (27 September 2014)

Staff weren't very helpful and reception was not very forth coming at getting things done !!! passing the buck a lot !! that said , lovely setting , but run down !! there was a very unprofessional air about the place , like they did nt need to have high standards as they already had a return client base !!!! important to note if you are going out of season !!
Amy (22 September 2014)

The park is in a lovely location. the area was kept beautifully clean.
Deborah from Norwich (22 September 2014)

Unfortunately there were boring bees outside our lodge, number 20, at the front. The staff said they are protected and cannot be destroyed but do not sting. We were not offered alternative accommodation and the result was we couldn't sit or eat at the front of the lodge as they would fly all around us. This was the sunny side, so had to sit at the back in the shade
Julie from Sevenoaks (15 September 2014)

Very good
Paul from Northampton (06 September 2014)

A bad shower, coins for electricity, an unfindable location, polite but uninterested personel are just those things which can break the atmosphere. Deal and dover are great, so is the beach and the restaurant but I won't return at this specific location.
Pieter from Amsterdam (06 September 2014)

Excellent
Brian from Battle (05 September 2014)

The location was delightful. quiet, peaceful and very safe for the children. the facilities were very clean, the restaurant very friendly and the food delicious.
Katie from Swanley (30 August 2014)

Surrounded by nice green space. Lovely pubs within walking distance. Stones beach huge disappointment. Easy access to other large towns. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Bar staff friendly. Crazy golf bit delapatated. Very poor wifi.
Emma from Newark (23 August 2014)

A beautiful holiday park. It states there is a private beach and there is no private beach anyone can use it. . also the bar/restaurant would benefit from doing breakfast. Not ideal to eat there when their showing a football match on the tv. No space to sit as everyone is taking up the tables to watch football
Sarah from Sutton In Ashfield (Notts) (23 August 2014)

Really enjoyed it.
Hazel from West Midlands (23 August 2014)

A lovely area, short walk to beach. nice village location but easy to get to dover/deal.
Nicola from Halstead (23 August 2014)

It would have been nice to have had entertainers during the week as not having any did not push us to go to the lounge/goodwins bar in the evening. the breast cancer quiz was a real hoot.
Helen (23 August 2014)

Brilliant location, facilities very good. Overall a very pleasant stay with grandchildren.
Walter from Colchester (16 August 2014)

Lovely quiet site, good food and facilities, real bonus to be able to walk to the beach!!
Karen from Bury St Edmunds (16 August 2014)

Rather old fashioned but everything that we needed.
Susanna from Isle Of Wight (09 August 2014)

Lovely park this is third visit . facilities are starting to look a little tired now if this is picked up on then park would be first class . . .
Maria from Essex (09 August 2014)

Lovely site with plenty of room around the lodges. Clean and tidy, rubbish collected from your lodge so no litter strewn around. The pool is excellent, great place for kids. Village has 3 good pubs.
Elaine (26 July 2014)

No dvd player. No fridge freezer which was an utter shock nowhere to store ice lollies!. funny smell in the lodge. The location was the best factor of the holiday. No staff appeared to be about to approach regarding queries. Beds really uncomfortable. Really hot at night time
Samantha from Kent (19 July 2014)

Lovely clean park and facilities, it is a pity the pool shut so early in the evening, we could not use it every day even though we would have liked to. it was summer holiday period, it did open later from the due we left, but even so my children had already been on school holidays for three weeks,
Jonathan (19 July 2014)

A beautiful setting with easy access to the beach and lovely footpaths.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (14 July 2014)

The chalet was very tired and in need of an extreem up date I do hope that the owners will make sure that this would be done as wefeel that it let the park down
Fay (14 July 2014)

Fault with cooker not resolved and no update. Lovely clean quiet park. Surprised we had to pay for electric. Would like small shop and longer opening time for family room/bar. ( shut at 10pm)
Kelly from Kingsdown (Deal) (12 July 2014)

The sight was a very clean and spacious. More trolleys for the luggage is defiantly needed especially when everybody is checking out for !0am and to get rid of the old heavy rusty ones.
Lockwood (12 July 2014)

Onsite facilities such as pool/crazy golf/tennis not available when residents return to site in the evenings as reception is closed and staff gone home.
Adrian from Eye (12 July 2014)

Although a little hard to find, we were very pleased with the park. its small but has all facilities apart from a shop so you need to go to deal which isnt far. its a lovely setting with lots of grass areas for the kids to play and a separate parking area for cars so its much safer. the chalets and very nice and the local pub in the high street was very cosy, welcoming and great food. we would go there again and its a great base for the area with lots to see and do.
Karan from Bexhill (11 July 2014)

We loved it soo many places to visit. We went to herne bay, broadstairs with its lovely sandy beaches , jungle jim's , lathe barn (small farm with indoor and out play area ).and wingham wildlife park. The pool was lovely , clean and warm.
Aharon from Eastbourne (05 July 2014)

Were staying during preparation to swim the channel. We stayed with grandparents and 2 small children. It worked out perfectly for us with lots to do and see nearby. Would recommend.
Andreya from London (05 July 2014)

This is a nice parc in lovely settings. however, it does have some downsides. having no vehicular access to the chalets means transporting your luggage to it. although trolleys are provided, if your chalet is uphill this is quite a heavy task. the swimming pool is lovely but is only open from 9am - 4.45pm times when most people are out for the day. The bar likewise is only open from 5.30pm to 8pm mon-thurs and then longer on a sat and sun. As they serve meals I should imagine at peak times it is impossible to get a chance to eat there. the goodwin suite offers entertainment at peak times but the website did not appear to say what are classed as peak times. We found them to commence at the end of july. That said this is a nice family venue which offers a range of on site facilities. we enjoyed our stay here.
Peter from Milford (05 July 2014)

Delightful place.
Morgan from Loughton (04 July 2014)

Excellent park !. grandchildren ( 8 & 4 ) enjoyed the freedom. ( no cars on park ). plenty for family to do within 40 minutes drive. Our lodge was spotless and well laid out. Ideally situated for our day trip on eurostar to cite europe, where all the girls spent 5 hours shopping and I checked out the french coffee & croisants. Whole family ( 2 oaps, 1 adult & the 2 young girls ) had a great time. We will return.
Clive from Ipswich (28 June 2014)

Was great
Matthew (28 June 2014)

The park is located in a small village. On their website it says there is a private beach, to get to the beach you have to walk out of the park into the village and then walk down a small private road. So I would not say they have a private beech. You have to pay for the facilities on site except swimming. There is not a lot to do there unless you want a relaxing holiday.
Keith from Nottingham (28 June 2014)

Very enjoyable stay. Lovey safe environment for children. Pool was a good temperature at 32/33 celsius. Could do with better signposting as the sat-nav didn't take us anywhere where it became obvious and had to end up asking at the local shop.
Kate from Chatteris (27 June 2014)

The area was lovely, with 3 great pubs in the village and lots to see around, but the accommodation spoilt the holiday. the best thing about the park was watching the badgers running round the site at night.
Deborah from Ely (21 June 2014)

This site appears to be weekend owners and it was full both weekends so fasil;ities were not available .despite the world cup the bar and restaurant closed at 8 pm and the takeaway advertised was one choice pizza .
Olwen (21 June 2014)

We had a lovely, peaceful holiday. The location was great for walks into deal along the beach road. . the local pub served fantastic food and was always vibrant and friendly. The site could be very busy in high season, but out of season it's great for the older age group. Kingsdown is a lovely part of kent and I would recommend it to anyone
Roy from The Local Pub Served Fantastic Food And Was Always (21 June 2014)

Very goog holiday park, only nuisance were the seagulls opening the garbage bags and spreading the garbage all over the place; there should be a better way to protect the garbage from the seagulls
Jürgen from Ingolstadt (21 June 2014)

This is in such a lovely setting with everything you could ask for if you didn't want to leave the park and village. the shops and pubs are within easy walking distance for a change of scenery.
Lorna from Hazlemere (20 June 2014)

We loved the location and enjoyed our stay. The only down fall is the network problems only. Loved the atmosphere and the cottages. Will definitely come back again
Oleandar from Birmingham (16 June 2014)

Nice place easily accessible; nice and quiet
Chris from Leicester (14 June 2014)

Beautiful park, very friendly and peaceful, lots of open green space and trees surrounding it. We stayed in june and reception closed at 5pm - you can't check in before 4pm so a very small window of opportunity.. the swimming pool was nice and had a life guard watching over everyone. The onside wifi is useless unless you are actually sitting in the bar although it is supposed to have further range. The bar meals are average at best so we ate in the local pubs which had great food.
Sue from Hertfordshire (14 June 2014)

Overall a good place to go with families
Jack (09 June 2014)

It wasn't clear when food was being served on site, we thought it was but when we enquired we thought bar staff at the time were a bit abrupt, which contrasted with our experience a couple of days earlier. But there were local amenities more than happy to have our custom. Also got the impression that the ladies changing room in the pool had not been cleaned, either that or we went each day after some one was using talcum powder liberally. Did not spoil our stay
Ruth from Sheffield (07 June 2014)

Was lovely would definatly go back
Lisa from London (07 June 2014)

Well kept site, very quiet location.
Chris from Leicester (07 June 2014)

Great
Michael from Castleford (07 June 2014)

Good site. didn't use entertainment so can't comment. swimming pool clean and well staffed. site very safe, great for children and close to the beach.
Sylvia from Haslemere (31 May 2014)

Excellent going back next year kids loved it
Graham from Bury St Edmunds (30 May 2014)

Very nice park, lovely setting and relaxing atmosphere. We'll certailtly go back!
Gaby from Essex (26 May 2014)

We really enjoyed the setting, the pool and facilities. The lounge bar was a great social setting.
Philippa (26 May 2014)

Lovely clean park.. staff very helpful .. shame the clubhouse was closed for redecoration but 3 lovely pubs nearby .. and a resident semi wild cat thomas who was lovely and hope he is in good health.. shame you did not have more boxes about so that donations could had of been made for the well being of the cat
Angela from Essex (23 May 2014)

Special offer price was good for w/e but would not have not have wanted to pay full price.
Sandra from Braintree (19 May 2014)

It was so good at kingsdown park that I went back the next week and purchased a chalet for myself and the family .
Matthew from Hawkinge (12 May 2014)

I was disapointed that it was not possible to have an early swim. adults only 8-9 am would be ideal.
Elaine from Tunbridge Wells (10 May 2014)

The site was in a location we wanted to visit, which was why we chose it. We were very pleased with the appearance of the site and the way it was looked after - nice and spacious and with carefully cut grass, etc.
Ian from Guildford (10 May 2014)

Door to family changing room in swimming pool doesn't shut / lock properly. Would be useful to have bin in there next to changing table.
Jen from London (28 April 2014)

The lodges were much bigger than expected. Pool was lovely, bar was good and prices weren't too bad.
Anna from Essex (28 April 2014)

Different experience - lovely idea the lodge, surrounding area really nice and well kept. staff really friendly and helpful.
Margaret from Bexleyheath (25 April 2014)

Nicely laid out site, ideal and safe for families with small children as vehicles are prohibited access to the accomodation areas. The only criticism is the absence of signage at the entrance to the site making it impossible to find.(local opposition) would recommend a photoshot of the entrance to be included with conformation booking.
John from Oxford (25 April 2014)

Good holiday..nice location.
Jonathan from Leicester (19 April 2014)

The grounds of the park were spacious, green and clean. Not a huge amount to do on site but the children enjoyed the park and mini golf. a bit deceiving that the bar, restaurant, takeaway and entertainment are all one and the same. The 'takeaway' is just frozen pizza cooked in the bar kitchen. The private beach is not directly accessible from the park, you have to walk out the park and a short walk down a road with no footpath. There is no way of ensuring the beach is private especially with 2 pubs close by!
Lorien (18 April 2014)

We had an excellent holiday. The accommodation was great and our 3 children loved it. We would definately go again.
Tony from London (18 April 2014)

The staff were very pleasant, especially the reception staff. The swimming pool need to be a bit cleaner. I was first in one morning and there was a huge clump of hair at the bottom if the pool. Also it would be more helpful if the times of opening for the pool was extended.
June from London (18 April 2014)

It was ok overall. We love the walk to the cliff and the easy access to the beach. we did not get to use the facilities much like the swimming pool, it's small and constantly packed with children. The crazy gold is "crazy". I rented four clubs and balls for 5 pounds! the plan was for the whole family to play, but only my husband did as the kids preferred to play table tennis. So I returned the other 3 clubs and balls, and asked if I could get a refund as in 3 mins after renting, and paying but the staff there refused to refund as she said"why would we want a refund when we played", I tried to explain but to no avail, she was even laughing at my son and me. oh well I supposed they needed extra money boost to buy some more sports material as obviously they are all worn out and almost 'unplayeable'; the table tennis racquets were all worn out as well and the balls were not even the proper ones..learning rom experience, if I ever book again, I would definitely bring my own! we also would like to try lunch. we came about 10 past 2pm, unfortunately lunch was being served from 12 to 2pm, so we did not get to have any.i find the centre not very friendly, (some staff were really accommodating like the pretty lady in the reception) and flexible with time.but hey ho, I guess that's just the way it is.
Catherine from London (18 April 2014)

It was great for the kids to roam around, play and make new friends. We were able to give them so much freedom knowing it was safe with no cars around.
Julia from Warminster (18 April 2014)

The site was clean and well positioned. reception needs to be open longer as 5pm is too early if you wish to book a tennis court or other facilities.
Terri from Fleet, Hampshire (14 April 2014)

Kingsdown park is very picturesque. Lush green fields for the kids to play on or simply sit on n sunbathe. The facilities are great, always something for the children to do. (although we didn't go in the summer time, so obviously would be more busy! ) the free wifi in the lounge was a bonus too. We had a lovely short easter break in the quirky little triangular lodge.
Yve from Essex (14 April 2014)

Would have liked longer opening hours on take away for late arrivals and it would have been nice to have had entertainment on saturday and sunday.apart from that we came as a family group with an age range of 2 to 72 and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Judith from Tunbridge Wells (07 April 2014)

Lovely setting and very good facilities.
Peter (07 April 2014)

Nice park to stay in. Good range of facilities and local sights for a relaxing break.
Wendy from Staffordshire (29 March 2014)

Very loveley site and helpful staff so very relaxing
Lucia (29 March 2014)

Lovely park in nice surroundings. a little hard to find as there are no signs out on the road. we drove past the entrance at least 6 times. even though we didnt use it, the swimming pool looked really lovely and clean. there isnt much entertainment with just a small games room. we went out of season, so I guess once the spring arrives things will pick up. we will 100% be returning.
Katie from Essex (03 March 2014)

Really enjoyed our time at kingsdown park, probably needed a little more things for the kids to do or play in. All staff were really helpful and pleasant. Lodges were fantastic and roomy. would definately go back again. Great half term holiday break.
Sarah from Sutton Surrey (22 February 2014)

Perfect for our young 5 person family
David from London (21 February 2014)

Lovely location, and while some areas are a little tired and the pool wasn't quite what we expected, it was still a wonderful weekend and I can't wait to return.
Nikki from London (17 February 2014)

At the time of booking we were not made aware that all facilities were closed
Julie from Kent (14 February 2014)

It was a lovely break just ashame the facilities weren't open due to out of season booking.
Louise from Croydon (10 February 2014)

Water turned off by maintenabce team without warning. Onday leaving reception should have been open 9an but at 9.30 am still no one there and we had a plane to catch
Michael from Philippines (25 January 2014)

When we arrived there wasn't anyone at the desk so waited over 15 minutes to get hold if any one. Dirty bed linen was left on pillows , not enough bed linen so went back to reception again no one there waited an other 15 minutes asked for more clean linen was told that will be with you straight away but after 3 hours nothing arrived so my kids slept together . . tv didn't work first 2 days although we reported straight . away nothing was done . bar was close so we couldn't watch tv or use internet. Over all ruin new year's eve and good break. We left 2 days before although we paid.
Erdal (03 January 2014)

The bar was closed every time we went to it but a good new years eve party was put on
Stuart from Stevenage (02 January 2014)

Brilliant.
Marion from London (27 December 2013)

Quiet with good facilities and a great base for walking / days out
John from Kent (02 November 2013)

Pool was lovely and warm but could do with a clean. Opening hours were quite limited too. Had a problem late one evening when toilet blocked and nobody was around to help until 0900 the following morning. Need to publicise 24/7 number for when reception is closed.
Ef from Reading (02 November 2013)

Great place and nice and quiet. We have 3 boys so with swimming and tennis 20 seconds away they were delighted. a shame the crazy golf was never fit to use.
Adam from Bromley - Kent (02 November 2013)

The park is well laid-out and maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Catherine from Reading (01 November 2013)

Great place. ideal for families with children. well kept public areas, basic but adequate accommodation, friendly, helpful staff. ten out of ten. we all loved it and hope to return! thanks
Jo from Perth (07 October 2013)

The free swimming pool and the small playground on site were great for my 2 young children. the local village is very small but friendly. the beach is shingle and not particularly attractive, and i'd say unsafe for young children as there are steep drops and open ramps. the walk there from the holiday park is a deathtrap as there are no pavements on a blind corner. the holiday home is not signposted from the main road. you need a car to get anywhere interesting. staff were absolutely fantastic!
Paul from Zwolle (28 September 2013)

We spent 4 nights at the park and had a great time. our lodge was very modern and comfortable. the staff on reception were very friendly and helpful and the setting of the park was very nice and the ground were kept very clean. . we would not hesitate to return to this park.
Robert from Northampton (27 September 2013)
