Loved it , 5 th time we have been , such a shame it's now been sold and the complex is closed
Louise from York (04 January 2016)

We had an amazing christmas week here and would love to come back!! apartment was clean and very well equipped. Any issues we had (hot tub didn't work initially) were quickly rectified by the helpful staff :)
Patricia from Essex (28 December 2015)

We had a lovely christmas in our kingfisher apartment. The kitchen was well equiped and the rooms were always lovely and warm. The only issues we had were of cleanliness - various items still under beds, under cushions from previous holiday makers and the shower needed a very good clean - water was very slow running, so pulled up plug which was full of gungy hair. Because of the time of year, we didn't have access to many of the facilities so can not comment on them. We had a very warm helpful welcome, but totally understood that we didn't see anyone again as it was christmas. The entrance road/track is extremely pot holed - be warned anyone with low down cars!. overall, a lovely stay, in a lovely location - even saw a barn owl flying!
Andrea from Ashford, Kent (27 December 2015)

We had a lovely stay, the hot tub finished the apartment off nicely and was a great way to relax after a day out.
Laura (20 November 2015)

Apartment lovely, staff not so much. Restaurant closed whole time we were there as on holiday!
Jill (16 November 2015)

Excellent break away, fantastic surroundings.
Odette from Caister, Great Yarmouth. (13 November 2015)

The kingfisher apartments should be aimed at fishermen due to lakes at the rear of the apartments. There is no privacy if you have a ground floor apartment with a hot tub, I had a man walk past several times while I was relaxing in the hot tub. there is also not enough adequate lighting around the hot tub, it felt very creepy at night. The 'facilities' are rather dated and the staff very unhelpful. The apartments are situated just behind a residential street, which was rather strange. The apartment also smelt of smoke, even though it clearly states no smoking. Upon arrival the apartment was overwhelmingly hot as all the thermostats had been turned up to 25 degrees, as they now class it as winter - even though the weather is very mild. It took at least 24 hours for the apartment to cool down. I shall definitely not be returning to these apartments.
Lauren (02 November 2015)

Glad I didn't pay full summer price.
Alexandra from Northants (30 October 2015)

We have stayed at kingfisher apts before but found that the standard of cleanliness and general repair has declined . . the staff in the bar/restaurant area are more interested in going altogether for a cigarette or holding loud conversations on skype which doesn't make you want to use the facilities in the club. . needs someone to take hold of the reins and bring it back to a good level.
Terry from Broadstairs (16 October 2015)

Brilliant holiday shame the property is being used for different purposes in the new year
Lynda (12 October 2015)

Very good holiday if you are a keen fisherman, but ok for touring around norfolk etc.
Raymond from Hitchin Sg5 2Ub (09 October 2015)

Stayed for a last minute get away with 3 friends room was clean always had hot water rooms were spacious hot tub was delightful only down fall was no signal in thearea would defo come back
Gary from Essex (05 October 2015)

Good overall apartment stunning surroundings ,beautiful part of the country and good weather no phone signal so that was a plus as well will definitely book again
Diane from Sheffield (28 September 2015)

Would not stay here ever again worst experience I have had.
Susan from Norfolk (21 September 2015)

Limited kitchen facilities. Odd crockery set. Limited utensils. Not the most clean accommodation. Limited privacy in the hot tub. Noise from surrounding apartments. Problems with key/front door.
Amy from Lowestoft (21 September 2015)

It was my 50th birthday and what a lovely time so friendly and professional highly recommend accommodation and facilities fantastic
Denise from Peterborough (21 September 2015)

Great location for exploring norfolk, with the option of fishing thrown in, and an extremelt pleasant outlook.
Sean (18 September 2015)

Great holiday, staff brilliant, food good, look forward to going back again.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (11 September 2015)

Apartment was great. very large and we'll equipped. Staff very friendly and helpful. this is a place if you want to get away. Wifi slow, no phone signal and a village shop, pub and petrol station in the village so limited resources locally. Perfect for us on a dog walking holiday but won't be for everyone
Claire (04 September 2015)

As a couple we were looking for a quiet break, this is more suited to families. The road into the complex is terrible surprised my suspension survived.
Kennedy from Haverhill (04 September 2015)

Pros - apartment was well equipped with jacuzzi, two shower rooms and balcony. Dogs allowed and there is plenty of places to walk or fish. . cons - over powering smell of chip fat on arrival, cooker not been cleaned, settee was smelly, and a serious problem with spiders (removed around thirty spiders over a four day period) so bad could not open window for ventilation, although this is not kingfishers fault. . . there is no signal for internet on the site or within a mile of the apartment for orange, tesco or vodaphone and probably all the other networks.
Steven from Huddersfield (04 September 2015)

Wifi only in and outside bar. Beautiful peaceful setting. Not too many apartments seemed that there was only several.
Gillian from Maidstone (31 August 2015)

If you want total peace and quiet then this is the place for you. you definitely need a car to get around and you are approx. 40 minutes from most places of interest. . the norfolk lavender was a great place to visit, plenty to see and do there including a small animal park with an entry fee.
Jackie from Woking (31 August 2015)

Lovely clean spacious apartment. Needs more kitchen utensils but apart from that could not fault the place.
Brenda from Hemel Hempstead (31 August 2015)

Good quality apartments with all the facilities you could need. . service in the restaurant was very good and the food of a reasonable standard for the prices paid. . the main negative is the road leading to the apartments which is covered in pot holes and in desperate need of repair.
Martin from Boston (31 August 2015)

Staying at kingfishers apartments was fantastic felt very welcome from the staff and had such a lovely experience staying there.
Robert from Croydon (28 August 2015)

This was a lovely break in beautiful surroundings. Staff could not do enough for you and were very friendly. Apartment was also lovely. Very big, modern and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lucy from Barking (28 August 2015)

Excellent holiday the apartment was very clean and well equipped. Staff was very friendly and helpful only one comment would be that the staff smoked outside the reception area which I didn't like think it would be better to do it in another place. Also the drive in on the uneven road was unpleasant but this said would definiatley return.
Tina from Petts Wood Kent (28 August 2015)

This was an excellent base for a stay in norfolk. The apartment was comfortable, had everything we needed and located in a beautiful setting.
Sue from Essex (24 August 2015)

Loved the place, not a lot about unless u drive ,staff was brilliant ,so friendly and helpful, but spiders every where was off putting ,specially for my boys
Confirmed Holidaymaker (24 August 2015)

Spacious, clean and very good for children. The track leading to the accommodation is in a terrible state and needs to he improved urgently. We scraped the underside of the car driving at 5mph!
Ashfaq (17 August 2015)

Lovely surroundings with the lakes and well kept areas, the pool and park area were sufficient although if the weather is not good there is not a lot indoors to keep the children entertained, the club house seemed to be shut when it said it was supposed to be open but seemed friendly when was open and somewhere to have a drink and food if wanted, the location is a quiet village quite far out from known tourist attractions, suitable for a very lazy week but if you are wanting to visit broads and beaches etc bare in mind the journey out. a nice country pub called the fox in the village did great food although a bit costly.
Julie from Aldershot (14 August 2015)

Lovely place for a peaceful holiday but appeared to be being run down. Discovered the site has been sold so this could be why. Really no need for reviews then!
Daryl (14 August 2015)

Lovely location and very spacious apartment. Our main disappointment was the fact that we paid extra for an apartment with a hot tub and we couldn't use it until the next day; as we were only there friday to monday (and you have to be out 'promptly' at 10am) we only had 2 days use of it. Considering you cannot access your apartment until 4pm we feel everything should have been ready by that time. Although we were aware when we made the booking that there was an extra cost for electric, we do feel that the price we paid should have been inclusive of all costs.
Dawn from Luton (10 August 2015)

Ideal location for a family get away. the apartments were a home from home and provided a great base to explore norfolk. we felt save, comfortable and relaxed.
Ellen from Bedfordshire (10 August 2015)

Enjoyable stay would return
Gwenneth (07 August 2015)

These are lovely apartments, in nice surroundings, in a nice village. Lovely pub with great food. A very good base with lots to do within easy reach. The food in the club house is over priced for what you get, but it is a good clubhouse otherwise.
Jane from Ipswich (07 August 2015)

We had a fabulous week here. the staff are fabulous very friendly treat you like part of the family. the apartments are very comfy and clean in fact we said we could live there permanently. Would recommend to anyone who wanted to have a chilled relaxing time.
Sarah from Downham Market (03 August 2015)

2nd yr running we have stayed here and again had a fabulous time. Lovely home from home spacious apartment in a great location on the lake. A great base for days out. The children loved dinosaur adventure 5 mins away and adults loved the hot tub when they had gone to bed. I would and have recommended finisher apartments to others.
Sally from Essex (31 July 2015)

Quiet restful location. Accommodation fairly spacious, some tlc needed in some areas. Hot tub nice but the cover was not easy to remove and in need of replacing. The balcony required a good clean & outside furniture rather weathered!. the staff however, were very friendly & helpful. The food in the bar was enjoyable.
Christopher from The Staff However, Were Very Friendly &Amp; Helpfu (27 July 2015)

Lovely place. Great base for exploring norfolk.
Lisa from Sheffield (27 July 2015)

Wonderful place and very helpful staff
Richard (24 July 2015)

Loved this place. Staff were lovely really friendly and helpful. Our kids loved the outdoor swimming pool. . food was gorgeous.
Kerry from Tamworth (24 July 2015)

Great family holiday the staff were amazing couldn't help us enough they were great. Loved the hot tub and kids loved the swimming pool. Every where was so clean and tidy def would go back again.
Theresa from Tiptree Essex (17 July 2015)

A beautiful place with lovely surroundings and lakes. Its lovely here if the weather is good, but not alot to do if weather is not good and your not into fishing. The hot tubs are excellent and the swimming pool was an added bonus.
Tracey from Bury St Edmunds (13 July 2015)

Amazing place.. would book again
Kirsty from Brundall-Norfolk (13 July 2015)

Felt more geared to adults for hot tubs. no feeding of ducks was difficult for our wee girl and outdoor pool only for fair weather use..if it rains can't use. the apartments were clean inside but the balcony area could do with a brush to remove the numerous spider webs. . ate in the restaurant but no real atmosphere and no windows. lady who served us was extremely helpful.
Joanne from Glasgow (13 July 2015)

Had a great time lovely clean apartments helpful staff really relaxing break will be going again
Carol from Skegness (10 July 2015)

We had a fantastic break at the kingfisher apartments and would definitely recommend it. It was a very relaxing week in picturesque surroundings. The staff couldn't do enough to help and were really friendly and welcoming. We will definitely go back!
Jacqui from Kent (10 July 2015)

The only downfall is no phone signal anywhere the bar has wifi but is also very slow so unless your a big drinker you dont want to be stick there all day. Amazing place very friendly. Perfect for escaping the world with no outside contact.
Lucy (10 July 2015)

The welcome was warm and friendly. Our apartment was clean with everything we needed and very spacious. The view was beautiful and the whole area was maintained exceptionally well. The hot tub was warm on arrival and made our break special. No phone signal or wifi (except in the bar) was great as the kids had to put down all their devices and join in with family games.
Joanne from Lowestoft (29 June 2015)

The apartment was lovely, the surroundings peaceful and tranquil and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only regret was that we only booked a 4 night stay - we could have happily stayed much longer.
Lisa from Lincoln (26 June 2015)

Fantastic apartments all as described. . spotless cannot fault in any way
Steve from Worksop (22 June 2015)

Good overall experience, especially the fishing. Poor mobile reception was a pain (ee)
Keith from Sleaford (19 June 2015)

Very nice, huge and clean apartment, great location, helpful staff. although advised on booking that hot tub might not be at temperature to use on arrival, it wasn't hot enough until the next day, which on a 3 day break meant we didn't get much use out of it, so not sure it's worth extra £65. The swimming pool was also closed for maintenance on our second day so didn't get to use that either. We think the £20 charged on arrival for electricity for 3 days is well in excess of what it should be and don't understand why this isn't included in the overall cost. other than that, a very peaceful and pleasant place to stay with plenty of parking and glorious lake views.

Beautiful apartments. Lovely setting
Mandy from Ripley Derbyshire (29 May 2015)

Run down around the edges and wonderful staff desperately trying to keep things going. Information on web site inaccurate about facilities. Fishing info insufficient, you need a trolley to cart all your gear as lakes a fair walk. Lakes have geese and geese make lots of droppings so wherever you walked shoes caked in goose poo. No proper fishing swims, overhanging trees make fishing difficult. One lake we were told nobody catches anything. Thought fishing was very poor value for money. The so-called country club barely used, we were one of three groups using restaurant saturday night and one of two groups having the carvery on sunday. This meant nothing to do of an evening except watch tv. No mobile phone reception a pain in this day and age, same with wifi. Could be a lovely place but needs thousands spent on it.
Susan from Witham (29 May 2015)

Booked last minute with 2 children. Fabulous location and sizeable, well equipped apartments. staff, faye, budgets and darren, were fantastic, friendly and helpful and did a great job, as the owners were away. resolved my broken washing machine issue. we loved the hot tub. A luxury addition. Would recommend to families. Lots to do around the area.
Vanessa from Leicester (29 May 2015)

The bar was great, lovely staff and the pool table kept our 10 year olds amused for hours! lack of exercise space for the dog was a bit of an issue. but all in all a very nice place, very peaceful and we would consider coming back in the future.
Kathryn from Camberley (29 May 2015)

Very good ,helpful and friendly staff. good restaraunt .
Jonathan from Southampton (29 May 2015)

The whole place needs a little tidying up, the staff were really friendly and the hot tub was great. the apartment was spacious but not as clean as it could have been. the bedrooms may as well have had no curtains as they were so thin and white the sun woke us up at 4am every morning. the sofas in the lounge area were to most uncomfortable we have ever sat on. . the grounds and club house need a little tlc as first impressions when arriving were quite disappointing.

Spacious and well equipped apartment in beautiful surroundings. Staff go out of their way to look after you. There is no wi- if or mobile phone signal anywhere on site which is a shame and no land line telephone in the apartments. Apartments are overpriced considering facilities available.
Kay from Essex (25 May 2015)

Totally enjoyed this stay at kingfisher apartments! the area was outstandingly beautiful and perfect to relax or go fishing. The only downside was that there wasn't a shop on site. We had come prepared with some food etc but we had to go to the local store to buy dairy products. We were disappointed with the shop as it was very expensive and very little food. We choose to travel to the nearest tesco to buy some items to last us for the weekend. However we will know this for next time we stay and call there before going to the apartments. We did not have chance to eat at the restaurant but we viewed the menu and it looked delicious.
Jo (25 May 2015)

Curtains far too thin and hence bright daylight waking you up at 5am not good on a break. bit expensive for a weekend break. apartment well equipped
Deborah from Benfleet (25 May 2015)

Apartment was fantastic, clean and everything u needed for a secluded getaway.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (25 May 2015)

There was no wifi and phone signal, with this in mind it would have been good if there was a games room. The food on site needed to be better. The staff were very nice and very helpful. The hot tub was great!!. the lawn was great with lots of space.

Warren from Harlow (18 May 2015)

Fantastic stay in wonderful surroundings. The apartment was a lot bigger than what we were expecting! wonderfully peaceful and the staff were great. Lots of room for the kids to run around and play. Definitely booking another break here
Christina (18 May 2015)

It was a wonderful, peaceful break, welcome staff were lovely, apartment was very clean, only there could have been slightly more cutlery, glasses etc.
Sarah from Swaffham (18 May 2015)

Not as well equipped as other lodges we have stayed at - no dishwasher but washing machine?. plumbing issues - if someone using upstairs bathroom then downstairs had no water & vice versa. . lovely vista from lounge window but bedroom curtains where too pale. Kitchen/dining area too cramped - front lobby room wasted space.

Apartment was very clean and spacious. . wasn't as angling focused as i'd of expected. Bar didn't always stay to opening times which was odd. Lovely surroundings and maybe more suited to the ramblers and explorers.

Beautiful setting! if you like fishing bring your gear, the lakes are beautiful!. staff couldn't have been more helpful! . food served was very nice. . our hot tub broke as all four of us got it in, we were told when we reported it at reception that the ones in the upstairs apartments were only made for two people to use at a time, although there was no signage to state this and we weren't told when checking in. we were given the keys to a larger downstairs apartment with a bigger hot tub, so we were more than happy. Not much to do in the village, a small shop and lovely pub (that does amazing food), but plenty to do in the area if you have a car. you won't be bored. We will be booking to go back next bank holiday.

My family and I had a fanastic weekend in norfolk at the kingfisher apartments. we found it very relaxing especially chilling out in the hot tub. it was lovely too wake-up each morning to see the geese and their babies. the apartments themselves are well equipped and the beds and sofa are very comfortable. my only complaint was the cobwebs in the bedroom and kitchen areas.

Peaceful and relaxing break with gorgeous scenery. . stayed at the kingfisher apartments with my fiance and mother for an enjoyable 3 night stay over easter.. and loved it so much we asked to stay on an extra day!. . we loved the friendly elephant towels that welcomed us and our apartment 'swan 5' was spacious, had two bathrooms and 3 bedrooms - perfect for families to share!. . we had no problems with the hot water running out (as another reviewer mentioned) and were often in the hot tub and then using the showers to rinse off! and the water was hot and plentiful!. . we enjoyed watching the world go by and looking at the fantastic wildlife: herons, swans, geese (and baby geese), from our hot tub! it's also an excellent place to stay and explore norfulk from - we went on day trips to cromer and yarmouth and thursford - most of the attractions were around half an hour's drive!. . the country club has a great restaurant, a great bar and entertainment on saturdays and one friday a month! the staff were polite, friendly and accomodating!. . ok so we didn't have wifi in our apartment - but it was easily accessible from the bar - and most of the surrounding area didn't have a mobile signal or 3g either so it's not the fault of the management! we actually enjoyed having a break from facebook! made it all the more relaxing! :-). . room tip: the ground floor apartments have larger hot tubs and easier access to the lakes!

It was very dissapointing to arrive on the friday to find the restaurant closed. after asking we were told the cook was unwell but would be back on monday. not much use when your only there for the weekend. the aartment on the whole was clean although the smell of food was apparent. little things let it down though, the kettle had never ever been descaled, the dish rack was grubby and the pots and pans were either burned or scratched. Not much help when the restaurant was closed. however the pub down the road was really welcoming with good food. the driveway from the road to the apartments was full of potholes. the location itself was lovely, scenic and very peaceful.
Sheila from Norfolk (30 March 2015)

Beautiful settings, lovely apartments and a friendly atmosphere.

All good apart from no underfloor heating in the bathrooms(to be fair it was march when we stayed), and low cold water pressure,we should have mentioned it to the staff.

Really beautiful appartment in a stunning location, the appartment was exceptionaly clean and comfortable with the bonus of the hot tub
Jayne from Caldicot (13 March 2015)

Great large apartment with good facilities and in general very clean and tidy. No telephone service or wifi at all. This means the chinese takeaway menu was good if you were prepared to drive the seven miles to go order and pick it up. In an emergency you would have to run to reception or the bar to even dial 999 or get staff help. Beds a little hard but ok. Dust on lamp shades and fittings. Nothing on regarding entertainment but prob out of season. Hot tub wonderful but simple things like cpl of robes like other lodges offer would be nice.

We had a lovely weekend break here. The appartment was a lot bigger than I had expected and it was lovely having a private hot tub. The bed was very uncomfortable, I felt this let it down a little bit - but that said it wouldn't stop me returning, however I don't think my back could take a week of it. The staff were very friendly and a pleasure to be around, the clubhouse is quite good for a drink and game of pool. The surroundings are beautiful and it's nice to be able to go for a walk around and be away from it all.
