Excellent in every way. Nothing more to say apart from quality farm and excellent staff.
Steven from Mansfield (31 August 2018)

Lovely lodge
Anne-Marie (20 August 2018)

The staff are so helpful, the cabins are so peaceful. . cows walking past on a morning was a nice treat. . would highly recommend home farm to anyone.
Craig (10 August 2018)

Based on a working farm it was very quiet. Cows in the field at the back of us - no bother. fields to walk the dog. Perfect relaxing place
Julie from Barnsley (27 July 2018)

Excellent location for a relaxing break, you will need a car, as the farm is a few miles from the nearest shops/local amenities.

Stayed here before great peaceful place nice locks nearby and walks good pub near to york but away from the crowds
Denise from Wrexham (25 May 2018)

Great location on outskirts of york to either chill in peaceful surroundings with great sunsets or explore york and the surrounding area. Clean and comfortable lodge with hedges for privacy from the two neighboring lodges. Owner helpful but not intrusive. \\fully recommend
Bob (21 May 2018)

Great facilities however a little isolated . perfect for dogs
Darren (18 May 2018)

Lovely spotlessly clean lodge with good amenities looking a bit tired needs painting garden around lovely and hot tub well looked after

Home farm is a peace heaven its so beautiful we had a wonderful time plus we where able to take our cats with us.we found home farm very friendly and welcoming.we shall return again next year.
Rosalind from Donc (20 April 2018)

Fantastic weekend break for us, fantastic facilities and very friendly and helpful staff, would most definitely recommend and would most definitely like to return
Emily (05 March 2018)

A lovely quiet peaceful place, visited the outlet centre and went in to york on the park and ride ,enjoyed our selves .only 1 day we didnt go in hot tub as it was blowing a gale and the snow was coming down fast but still recharged our batteries.
Alexander from Tyne And Wear (02 March 2018)

Nice and peaceful on a working farm. Lovely and warm hot tub great. Kitchen not very well equipped but it wouldn’t put me off returning
Stuart from Boston (16 February 2018)

Really enjoyed the break away. Nice and relaxing break what we had. Lovely staff and privacy was given
Paul (09 February 2018)

Great base for exploring yorkshire
Suzanne from Glasgow (05 February 2018)

The home farm staff are very helpful and friendly. The farm is peaceful and quiet with lovely surroundings a great place to stay
Michael from Whitley Bay (12 January 2018)

This place is ok. Nice inside. all made from wood. We stayed in oak lodge which have a hottube. hottube was old and owner didn't use any chemicals for water so on third day water was smell and impossible to use hottube any more. No one was checking water at all during our stay. In double room mattress is old and very uncomfortable to sleep. Also it's was first place where we didn't get any soap or shower gel in the shower. Surprised me because this place have the hottube and can be nice to have something for shower. For this reasons I don't think we will go back to this place again. I think is little bit overpriced for what you can get there
Natalia from Leeds (22 December 2017)

Excellent lodge in a nice location, very peaceful. The hot tub is great and the lodge has everything you need. I would love them to put a light on their sign though, as I miss the turn ever time in the dark!
Mark from Rotherham (18 December 2017)

Really nice log cabin in beautiful surroundings but in desperate need of a good clean. Bathroom floor cover ed in dark hairs and neither of us are dark. Crumbs under table and nail clippings of floor. Place had never had a good sweep or vacuum
Denise from Winterton. Scunthorpe (10 November 2017)

The setting was great with only fields around and a herd of cattle passing occasionally. Only a short drive away from york and designer outlet. The cabin was smaller than expected and the cleanliness was at a low standard.
Brendan from Pontefract (27 October 2017)

Best lodge weve ever been too. Absolutely beautiful here.
Janice from Whitley Bay (20 October 2017)

Have visited home farm now for about 6 years and have re-booked for next year. Cabins are lovely well equipped and extremely comfortable.
Patricia from Liverpool (16 October 2017)

The lodge is set in a beautiful location overlooking the farm's fields and it was lovely to wake up to a troop of cows wandering past our veranda every morning. It is suprisingly close to main routes and only a short drive from the nearest park and ride going into york. The staff were all lovely and very helpful and the lodge itself was well appointed and well maintained. There are very few things in life as good as lying in a hot tub at night with the lights off looking up at the milky way in all it's glory with a glass of something bubbly.
Audrey from Manchester (16 October 2017)

Just back from 5 days at home farm. It was a lovely experience cabins well equipt & get central to york & other surrounding attractions! we will definitely be back!
Tamara from Tweedbank (13 October 2017)

Love this place, what a lovely peaceful site. We just spent a week there and we couldn't have had a more relaxing time. Plenty of wildlife around squirrels, rabbits and numerous breeds of birds. . . this is a working farm and the livestock quite rightly come first. . . if you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the site for you. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff on site and if you need something from them you only have to ask and they will do their best for you. We will definitely be back.
Arthur from Sunderland (09 October 2017)

Over all we had a great time at home farm. Lodge was warm friendly and clean with a well equipped kitchen but the double bed was the worst mattress we have ever slept on also the sofa and chairs could do with being replaced . other than that it is a very tranquil place to chill out .home farm is only 10 minutes from the outlet village with all its designer shops and the park and ride is also available for york center. Home farm is a working farm lots of cows to dodge on the way in and out this was a good place for a long weekend we will book again
Steven from Lincoln (09 October 2017)

A lovely quiet retreat. The lodges are away from the main campsite. No traffic noise. The lodge was spotlessly clean.
Linda from Lancashire (06 October 2017)

An enjoyable short break at the lodge
Peter (02 October 2017)

This must be the quietest place we have ever stayed at. the only sound we heard were birds singing & cows mooing. we went for a well earned rest & we were not disappointed. the view was great over green fields & the bushes in front of the lodge filled with birdlife coming & going all day. the weather was kind enough and once the sun set the heating in the lodge was ultra fast to heat the place through. the whole place was clean and fresh although the oven pans needed a scrub to rid them of oily residue but not a problem. as we normally stay in caravan park lodges, being so remote, we feel the value for money was rather excessive hence the mid range rating.
Phil from Kingston Upon Hull (02 October 2017)

Brilliant holiday, beautiful place and clean. Staff lovely and welcoming. Thankyou
Alex (29 September 2017)

Lovely place to stay. Really enjoyed it thankyou
Kelsey from Manchester (25 September 2017)

Very pleasant, lovely lodge with fantastic view. Quiet location
Lee from Hertfordshire (25 September 2017)

The lodges are well equipped and comfortable, but you are on a working farm and there are plenty of livestock with all that goes with them. The approach is like going through a caravan graveyard
Keith from Worthing (18 September 2017)

Really loved the place and would like to go back. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Amy (15 September 2017)

Lovely lodge in a breast quiet location.
Stephen from Durham (11 September 2017)

We booked ash lodge for a relaxing break, the lodge was beautiful with everything you needed for your stay.
Paula from Manchester (08 September 2017)

5th trip , love it
Elaine (08 September 2017)

If you are looking for peace, quiet and relaxation then this is the place to go but there is still plenty to do and places to go in the surrounding area including the city of york. The cabin contained everything that we needed and everyone was really helpful.. perfect! we will definitely be back.
Helen from Manchester (08 September 2017)

Fab cabins in a lovely, quiet place. Fabulous view across open land in front of the lodges. A little pricey but we were there at peak time. No shops around so you need to do a big shop before you arrive but ample kitchen for storing food and cooking. . we loved monitoring where the cows would be when we woke in the morning or arrived back at the lodge in the evening..the kids loved to see the cows. We also saw rabbits, hedgehogs and a pair of robins would also make appearances each day. Home from home in a tranquil, green area. We would return.
Johanna from York (28 August 2017)

The lodge was excellent, as were the hosts. Very quiet and secluded location and the hot tub was a brilliant bonus.
Michael (18 August 2017)

Lovely place to stay with excellent view over the field. Owners were very friendly and dealt with any issues swiftly.
Sarah from Rotherham (18 August 2017)

Excellent week at home farm.very private in the lodge and hot tub. Definitely will have a return visit in the future. 5 minutes from the designer outlet, where you can hop on the park and ride into york. Good base to get to scarborough and whitby.
Craig from Crewe (11 August 2017)

Too secluded and the lodge was small compared to other ones which were less expensive .
Gary from Bellshill (04 August 2017)

Excellent peacefull holiday staff very friendly no one bothers you beautifully clean and everything you need
Jayne from Kidderminster (04 August 2017)

Great place
David from Dunfermline (28 July 2017)

We stayed in ash lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The lodge was very clean and comfortable and the staff that we met were lovely. We had a beautiful view across the fields to the river and we enjoyed seeing the cattle coming and going. Only 6 miles from york and even closer to the designer centre it was a perfect place to stay.
David from Oadby, Leicester (21 July 2017)

Great rural location overlooking a field of cows. 10 minutes drive from york centre and 5 minutes from the village of naburn and the blacksmiths arms county pub. . the lodge was clean, cosy and warm. Beds were comfy and the shower was powerful. The only downsides were lack of kitchen utensils, the bubbles setting on the hot tub wasn't working and the flooring of the lodge needs a bit of tlc.
Hayley from Cleckheaton (17 July 2017)

Great, would go again, very quite nice and relaxing. . no shop or pub on site so make sure you take what you will need for your stay.
Scott from Grimsby (14 July 2017)

Very clean log cabins and very private and is very east to get into york and surrounding areas .
Adrian from Sheffield (03 July 2017)

Very quite and great surroundings. The lodge is beautiful basic but had everything we needed. The staff was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The nearest shop is a bp garage (spar) about 3-4 miles away. If you want a nice relaxing quite break then this is for you.
Emma from Pontefract (26 June 2017)

Booked the lodge for my husbands birthday as he is a keen fisherman. . lovely quiet location yet only 5 minutes drive to designer outlet & york only 10 mins by car . jen welcomed us very friendly and helpful. Pointed out where to access the river . . lodge cosy with modern facilities. Hot tub great each lodge very private . we were very lucky as the weather was very hot . . would have given score of 10 however on lifting the settee cushions at the end of our stay there were short dog hairs ,shells from nuts and a grape !! obviously, this had been overlooked when cleaning. Didn' t realise it was a pet friendly lodge . . rest of the lodge was very clean . . overall we had a brilliant week and I would consider booking again
Colleen from Halifax (23 June 2017)

Lovely peaceful location, chalet (oak lodge) clean and well equipped, hot tub lush. Evening visit from the farm cows an additional pleasure.
Carol Ann from Durham (19 June 2017)

We had been recommended by other family members to stay in a lodge, however we found it to be very basic accommodation compared to a cottage and more expensive. The farm aspect was very pleasant but not the immediate approach to the accommodation. On the plus side the beds were very clean and comfortable.
Walter from Norfolk (12 June 2017)

Good holiday but the location is a little more isolated that expected, and the cows blocking your way are a bit scary!!
Vicki from Hull (02 June 2017)

Wonderful stay. Everything you could possibly need and more for a lovely holiday. Views amazing. Will definitely be back.
Sharon (29 May 2017)

Wonderful, peaceful setting. Only downside was the graveyard of old caravans as you drove to the lodge. Not visible from the property. Dog loved to lie on balcony in the sun.
Flintoff from Ashbourne, Derbyshire (26 May 2017)

This was our third stay at home farm and you couldn't ask for more friendly people. Lodges are spotless clean with comfy beds and beautiful peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately when we booked we had our 2 dogs booked in with us and unfortunately one of them fell asleep after 17 happy years :-( but home farm was her last holiday and she loved it there! we have many happy memories to treasure. The owner of the farm even offered us a refund for our little dog who we lost, which I thought was a lovely gesture and not many places would do that ( obviously I declined) my dog was still with me in my heart, but all the same I can't thank the people of this site enough for making our stay most enjoyable. Lovely lodges, lovely staff and lovely surroundings. We will be back for sure. Sue & gary . leeds.
Sue from Leeds (01 May 2017)

Booked the two cabins with hot tubs which were next door to each other, perfect setting, very quiet no one bothered you, cabins were very clean , staff were helpfull and friendly , would return to home farm
Clare from Co Durham (17 April 2017)

Lovely location and convenient for visiting york as there is a direct bus that stops at the gate and takes about 15 minutes. the lodge we stayed in was beautiful and spotless with everything we needed and we received a warm welcome upon arrival. couldn't ask for more and we would happily stay here again should we back in the area.
Natalie from Dundee (14 April 2017)

Great location - perfect for all of the york area. Cabin was clean and well equipped. Perfect for a short break.
Jill from Durham (14 April 2017)

Such a beautiful location! such friendly staff! we will definitely be back!! :)
Gemma (10 April 2017)

We love home farm its so quiet and peacefull its just nice to switch off and do very little, we take our 2 dogs theres some nice walks, see u next year xx
Jill from County Durham (07 April 2017)

2nd time at home farm. If you want relaxing in middle of country side with local pubs, this is ideal, but still close enough to york. I would defiantly recommend using the park and ride service from the outlet mall. We will defiantly be back to home farm again
Leanne from Manchester (07 April 2017)

Our first little holiday with roshi (the dog) was everything we wanted it to be and more! the staff and other holiday goers were so welcoming and more than happy to help with anything you may need. The lodge itself was lovely and spacious. There are plenty of fields surrounding which make perfect walking routes. There is no wifi in the lodges but this is what we wanted - a bit of peace and quiet in the countyside! we will definitely be revisiting once we are able to drive as home farm is quite a way from the town of selby so it is difficult if you do not have transport to get to the shops etc. But the staff went above and beyond and actually went to the shop for us to get the bits we needed! would definitely recommend home farm to anyone looking for the perfect peaceful getaway.
Leanda from Rossendale (03 April 2017)

Extremely well presented cabin, beautiful surroundings as well as a really quiet and peaceful area. Only 15 minutes away for the city centre. Absolutely perfect getaway for a week, would highly recommend to anyone
Paul from Warrington (24 March 2017)

Had a great time. Nice and relaxed. Would definitely come back.
Steve from Leeds (20 March 2017)

Home farm is a great place for all. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. Staff are the best. York and a64 is just down the road easy to get to.
Yestyn from Liverpool (13 March 2017)

Another great stay at home farm owner very frendly lodge alway clean and peaceful this is our third stay and will be definitely staying again sorry to have miss cows this time on their daily walks
Colin from London (10 March 2017)

An excellent relaxing time was had by all
Michael from Scunthorpe (24 February 2017)

It was great
Mohammad from Jarrow (10 February 2017)

Lovely holiday lodges - we have stayed here three times now. very well equipped - everything you could need in a kitchen - utensils, microwave, fridge/freezer etc. nice touches like washing up liquid / cleaning cloths are also provided. wonderful surroundings - very peaceful and great location for all york attractions (only a ten minute drive way). would highly recommend.
Sarah from Nottingham (06 February 2017)

Fantastic lodge on a working farm. Lodge is lovely warm and has all facilities. The hot tub was fantastic. Overlooks a field with sheep wandering around, lovely to relax and watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Lovely pub 4 mins drive away which was dog friendly. 10 mins away from york designer outlet. So nice booked while there for next year
Michelle from Seaham (06 February 2017)

We had to boil the kettle for hot water to the sink as the water from the tap was lukewarm at best and the cutlery cups and crockery not as clean as we would of liked. Having said that it was a lovely lodge and hot tub, we had a relaxing stay and would stay again.
Graeme from Seaham Co. Durham (20 January 2017)

Though was told it's a working farm was not expecting all the caravan storage that you have to drive through it looks like they had been dumped.
Lisa from Lincolnshire (20 January 2017)

We absolutely love this place.we are already booked for october 2017..
Janice from Whitleybay (13 January 2017)

A comfortable lodge in a lovely peaceful, quiet place to relax but still close to york city centre and other places of interest/local amenities
Alison from Liverpool (06 January 2017)

We had an amazing time over new year's eve week, the staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. We took our dog and she loved it too! . close to york and the designer outlet, . . we would love to stay again,
Lucy (06 January 2017)

Excellent. Heating stopped working twice but within 10mins of informing owners it was repaired. a shame there isn't more lodges as already fully booked for this christmas.
Rebecca from Brierley Hill (30 December 2016)

Fantastic place
Leanne from Bradford (07 October 2016)

We both had a fantastic time, lodge was very clean had everything we needed in it, beautiful views very peaceful and close to a lot of amenities. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back again.
Louise from Dunfermline (30 September 2016)

Great please to stay highly recommend
Leanne (30 September 2016)

I thought I was going to board, but while I was there I was so relaxed , it was so quiet on a night and so dark, something iv not experienced before , the cabin was spotless inside and out, and so was the hot tub, york not far away so u could go there but we didn't we just chilled out for a few days , will defo go back .
Jill from County Durham (23 September 2016)

5th time we've been. Love it!
Ian from Hull (09 September 2016)

Peaceful place, but close enough to york to suit all needs.
David from Glenrothes (09 September 2016)

Good bits:. . cabin nice and relatively big but a bit dated. Large veranda with gas bbq - great to have that as not many cabins do. Enjoyed cooking in the open air. Owner friendly. Cabin location away from the rougher areas of the farm. Cabins clean inside. Weather red hot for our week. Not far from york city centre. Supermarkets a short drive away. Tub cleaned daily. Tv has usb port to play movies, but was small. . bad bits:. cabin faces an electrified fence yards away from an extremely close field of cows. No real walks for dogs - other than taking your dog onto the field which the cows are, past the caravan site. Can't let the dog have a free run, and with limited walks it's not particularly dog friendly. It's on a working farm that also stores caravans / caravan pitches and entrance is not pretty. Place is run down - reception is poorly maintained and is part of the farmhouse - you're not sure if the reception porch is an area for visitors or the owners. Rusting astra car housing cleaning items greets you on arrival!. cabins have lots of cobwebs on the exterior. Hot tub didn't have many jets, missing a headrest and although it had a new cover it takes 2 people to manually open it as it had no arm on top. Lights on the veranda on 24/7 - so no views of the stars at night from the hot tub. One of the dining room chairs was dangerous as it was on the brink of collapse!. fridge not the coldest -quite important due to the following point which was the worst part of our break:-. radiator in the bathroom is on 24/7 - sign above it saying not to switch off, so on a hot week like ours with no breeze we were literally sweating through the night. Leaving windows open (they either swing open or shut on their own) means lots of bugs coming into the room as they follow the light. The cabin had 2 portable cooling fans which we had to run constantly and was just noisy and uncomfortable through the night. Imagine a very hot week abroad, with a hot tub, then heating on 24/7, a small fridge that doesn't hold much and is poorly performing for drinks and you get the idea why this would be an issue. Consequently my wife and youngest son slept in the living room on the settees due to the combination of the bed not being comfortable and the heat. Booked this due to the high scoring reviews and can't really understand why it scored so highly. Stayed in several lodges and this was one of the most expensive and i'm afraid to say was the worst. No idea why the heating couldn't be switched off and should have asked I suppose - but from reading another review about it I don't think it would have made a difference. Hate to be negative or sound fussy but that was our holiday. The pictures show all the positive views of the farm but do not give a balanced view of the farm overall, which is probably why there isn't many of them. I'm not posting any pictures myself as I can appreciate how hard it is to diversify and make a farm pay, and wish the owners the best of luck, but to spend a week sweating and sleeping on a settee isn't a holiday i'm afraid.
Victoria from Cabins Clean Inside. (02 September 2016)

We had a lovely family weekend
Joanne from Wirral (29 August 2016)

Nice quiet place out the way from everyday life
Joanne from Hull (15 August 2016)

We had a brilliant break away from it all at home farm. The staff could not be have been friendlier or more helpful. Will definitely be returning.
Terrie from Ipswich (12 August 2016)

Staff were happy to let us check in arrival, slighty earlier than allowed and on two days we bumped into staff early in the morning as they were checking the hot tub, both of which were nice and chatty. Lovely clean, well maintained accommodation in beautiful surroundings, only niggles were the road down to the accommodation, it is a farm so I expected a dirt track but in one spot grass has grown very high in the middle of where car tyres go, we drove over it as there's no way round it, at least twice every day, I noticed a rattle had developed on my car on day 3 but didnt think much of it as I had the car fully serviced shortly before going on holiday so thought it was the dog cage in the boot but by the time we got home it was worse and still there without the dog cage in the car. I nipped round to a friend who's a qualified mechanic, he looked under the car and a few clips had snapped causing a plate to be loose, probably due to being dragged along something he said but he repaired free with clips he had but had I have had to go to the garage this couldve cost £50 easily.
Marie from Cumbria (29 July 2016)

Loved it, but the cabin was very hot like a sauna to try to sleep in, which neither of us managed to due to the weather being very hot and humid. I would stay there again if the cabin had some form of ventilation or air conditioning, plus the price was reduced, as was very expensive for the two of us for one week.
Christine (25 July 2016)

A lovely lodge, very clean and great views from the front over the countryside. very convenient for york and surrounding areas even if you don't want to drive when there. Staff were very friendly and made us feel at home right away.
Jackie from Norwich (15 July 2016)

Fantastic
Paul (10 June 2016)

Loved it
Nicola from Nottinghamshire (04 June 2016)

Very pleasant stay .not the best i've stayed in but by far not the worst .showing signs of a bit of age dripping taps and lot of cob webs on exterior .hot tub lid broken and worn .but very pleasant and very peacefull surroundings .
Anthony from Morcambe (16 May 2016)

It was a perfect venue for the family to get together and celebrate the birth of our grandson, the lodge was a little dated but well kept and very clean, the staff were lovely and helpful but not overpowering, my eldest grandson loved the jacuzzi. If you want a relaxing stay away from it all, yet near enough to york and selby this would be ideal
Kathryn (09 May 2016)

Absolutely loved our stay at home farm in beech lodge. Staff were lovely and really helpful. Our hot tub was cleaned daily and the views are amazing. The cabin had everything you needed, even had a bbq and only 15 minutes from the city centre. Would 100% book again!
Michelle from Westyorkshire (02 May 2016)

Love the mini break peaceful relaxing..lovely clean cabin had everything we needed & the hottub was fantastic
Danielle from Stanley (25 April 2016)

A lovely relaxing break in a lovely location .
Karen from Wolverhampton (28 March 2016)

This is our 2nd visit to home farm. standards are still the same and clean, which is one of the reason we returned. kids love the hot tub and very close to york outlet for a shopping trip. . lovely, peaceful and great to wake up and see the sheep in the field.
Claire from Sheffield (25 March 2016)

The lodge is set in picturesque surroundings yet is only 10minutes from york centre. The lodge has all the necessities for a perfect break, very clean. The hot tub is cleaned regularly and always hot. We will be back absolutely loved it.
Michael from Newcastle (21 March 2016)

Really enjoyed staying here abd ould visit again. Clean comfortable lodges. Staff where helpful . the lodges are not too far from aldi and iceland and not too far from the centre of york. lodge had a microwave and oven as well as a bbq. The hottub which was lovely was maintained and chemicals put in daily. Couldnt fault the place was a lovely break away.
Mark (14 March 2016)

Convenient location, close to york marina & park and ride for quick bus journey to york. Great we can bring the dog. . fields in front of the lodges had flooded and it looked stunning
Sandra from Manchester (14 March 2016)

Stayed here 3 times now and hopefully will go back many more times
Elaine (11 March 2016)

Have been twice with friends in the past 4 months. We love how secluded it is but also its proximity to york.
Hazel from Middlesbrough (07 March 2016)

We had a wonderful time at home farm . staff were most helpful when we got lost finding it also they informed us they were having their track retarmac so what time to leave by and they text us when it was ok to come back which was no problem as we go out all day we are hoping to return in october hopefully fields will have dryed out so we can explore
Colin from London (04 March 2016)

Amanda from Stalybridge (19 February 2016)

Great for visiting york and great view of the fields and sheep
Brett from Hemel Hempstead (19 February 2016)

Lovely log cabin in the vale of york, set in beautiful countryside, child friendly, all mod cons, very cosy and peaceful but within 10 mins drive into york and designer outlet, hot tub was a lovely treat for all the family, enjoying watching the sheep in the fields and robins in the trees with no ipads or phones was lovely to just spend time talking and being together, would highly recommend, we will definitely return.
Georgina from Rotherham (12 February 2016)

Really nice location and staff. Don't be put off by the caravans on the approach to the lodge. Amazing weekend would return.
Mark from Amazing Weekend Would Return. (08 February 2016)

Leanne from Manchester (25 January 2016)

Carl (18 January 2016)

We've stayed here about 8 times now and love it.staff are lovely and it's in a lovely place. Booked twice again when we got back from our january 2016 holiday.
Janice from Whitleybay (15 January 2016)

It's a bit difficult for me to give a review as unfortunately when we stayed there it was at the time that the floods hit yorkshire and we had to leave after only 3 days of a 7 day holiday. however, here goes. first of all can I say that the family who own the farm are lovely and very helpful, particularly bearing in mind the difficulties we all encountered. The lodge itself was spotlessly clean - although a little compact (there were four adults (me, my husband and our two kids who are university age) and we did find it a bit small for our liking, but lovely nonetheless. the shower is very powerful and hot - just delightful and the cooker (i cooked our christmas dinner in it) was really good. it kicks out some heat let me tell you!!. the mattress on the double bed however is very uncomfortable and the springs are pushing through all over the place, didn't get much sleep on that I can tell you. When we arrived the family had very kindly left us a box of m&s chocolate biscuits to welcome us which was a lovely touch. I can't really talk much about the surroundings as the river had burst its banks and was within a few feet of the lodges, although it was extremely peaceful and beautiful nonetheless. It's very isolated and is the perfect spot for a complete "get away from it all" break. . as I say I can't say much more because unfortunately mother nature won the battle the week we were staying there! :-)
Janet from Birkenhead (30 December 2015)

Stayed at home form for xmas 2015. Stayed in beech log cabin, very clean and comfortable with everything you could ever need, staff were really nice, friendly and accommodating,it was lovely waking up on a morning and looking out over the fields at the sheep etc and also listening to the owls and other wildlife at night. While we were there, there were floods around york which resulted in a power cut in our cabin on the fifth day we were there, we were given the choice of a refund or to wait and see if the electric came back on, we went out for breakfast and when we arrived back it still wasn't on so we decided to pack the car up and reluctantly went home, just as we put the last bag in the car, the electric came back on, but the staff said we could still have a refund for the 3 nights we didn't stay which we thought was really good of them as most places wouldn't offer that. If we hadn't made plans to go into york on the day we left and it hadn't been flooded in york, then we would have unpacked the car and stayed the remaining 3 nights. Apart from the power cut and the floods in york we had a really lovely holiday at home farm and we will definitely be returning in the future. Unfortunately things like this are out of the hands of the staff and can't be helped but the staff were wonderful and we can't wait to return :-) thank you to all the staff and hope you all have a very happy new year. Sue & gary . from leeds.
Gary from Leeds (30 December 2015)

Nice spacious lodge convieniently located for access into york
Cheryl (21 December 2015)

I went with my partner and we both loved it! absolutely gorgeous, clean and private, great places to walk in open countryside but so close to the city of york. I would recommend!
Tabitha from York (21 December 2015)

We love it here x
Emma from Leigh (14 December 2015)

Second time i've been with my husband. We love how peaceful it is. Staff are excellent and very friendly. There is a new sofa in since we last went which is comfy, the whole cabin is very clean and beds comfy. . close to designer outlet and the park & ride is there for york. Perfect. Will be back again.
Claire (11 December 2015)

Lodge build and design 10/10. Fittings 9/10. Furniture small and dated 6/10. Overall still a great getaway.
Stewart from Horwich. Bolton. (07 December 2015)

Second stay at home farm love the place! strongly recommend.
Alex from Newcastle (07 December 2015)

The staff and the lodge were fantastic. On arrival susan from reception walked us to our lodge and showed us all the facilities. She noticed a light was out so she arranged for t to be replaced first thing the next morning. The staff came and checked the hot tub every day and were unobtrusive. The lodge itself was beautiful and had everything that we required. . the grounds were well kept and we had lovely views over the countryside even although we were only a few miles from york city centre, it felt peaceful and relaxing.
Louise from Edinburgh (04 December 2015)

Loved our stay here. Will defiantly return.
Leigh from Stoke On Trent (20 November 2015)

Photos do not do the lodges justice. They are a decent size and very comfortable and warm. Location was great for york (used park and ride from designer outlet). great views from lodge and clean/tidy around lodge. Rest of farm is a little untidy with old caravans etc.
Emma from North Shields (26 October 2015)

We've stayed here about 6 times now.got another 2 times booked for next year. We love it.
Janice from Whitleybay (23 October 2015)

Excellent log cabin and hot tub ,really comfortable and clean , quiet location ,ideal for chilling out and relaxing, helpful friendly staff ,hot tub was well maintained during our stay, we would visit again.
Judith from Blyth (16 October 2015)

We had a really good time not anything around so you do have to drive everywhere but the place was lovely very peaceful stay x
Natasha from Hull (12 October 2015)

Lovely spotlessly clean dog friendly lodge, hot tub checked every day. Would definitely visit again, only small concern 2nd bedroom small so we struggled with cot for our son.
Craig from Whitehaven (09 October 2015)

Set in the wonderful yorkshire countryside very relaxing
Sheree from Northeast (09 October 2015)

Lovely lodge, very helpful staff and warm, clean hot tub xxxx
Emma (05 October 2015)

Great place, very clean and tidy, helpful staff
Lee from Hartlepool (28 September 2015)

This was our 3rd visit and as usual it was excellent. We are hoping to go back again next year it is such a peaceful and tranquil place.
Patricia from Liverpool (28 September 2015)

We enjoyed our stay wasn't too far from all the amenities. It was lovely and clean and peaceful.
Mark from Liverton Mines (25 September 2015)

We had a wonderful 4 nights in oak lodge. Real escape from the hustle of london.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (25 September 2015)

Lovely peaceful surroundings yet only a few miles from the centre of york. our log cabin was lovely and clean with all mod cons including a gas bbq. All in all a really refreshing holiday in a beautiful part on england, we will be staying there again.
Andrew from Whitchurch (25 September 2015)

Location and lodge were perfect. Great for visiting the area, and relaxing in comfort.
Hazel from Oxford (19 September 2015)

No real problem with location. accommodation excellent. unfortunately weather not good so could not enjoy fully.
David from County Durham (19 September 2015)

Although the staff were very helpful and the lodge was clean, there were old broken down caravans nearby which were an eyesore. There are a couple of pubs relatively nearby but not within walking distance meaning a couple of glasses of wine weren't possible with a pub meal. when we arrived the grass surrounding the lodges had just been cut but not collected meaning that every time we went outside we trailed grass cuttings into the lodge, and as we had two dogs with us we spent a lot of time sweeping!
Val from Workington (18 September 2015)

Lovely wooden cabin in a fantastic location. Peaceful with wonderful views. Had everything we needed. Just a five minute drive to the park and ride and we spent our quality time exploring york. My one small complaint. Could really do with having frosted glass in bathroom. Yes I would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.
Hazel from Aylsham (11 September 2015)
