Lovely setting lodges need a bit of tax but would return
Jennifer from Cleckheaton (03 September 2018)

Really enjoyed. Loads off wildlife to see. Would go again
Neil (03 September 2018)

As usual - lovely peaceful site.
Linda from Preston (03 September 2018)

Beautiful. Beautiful location, beautiful animals, beautiful staff and beautiful lodge. . a perfect break, real relaxation. back to nature and the staff are down to earth and can’t do enough to help. . we have been 4 times now and we continue to be re-impressed with everything. . . staff really will bend over backwards too.
Kimberley from Glossop (03 September 2018)

Great place definitely will go again
Chris from Northampton (02 September 2018)

Most relaxing break, always end up buying bargains from fashion outlet, plus vanguard shopping nearby. I regularly come here for destress, and highly recommend. Not cheap, but u do get what I pay for. Only criticism if I had to would be theres no wifi in a forest
Kathryn from Bolton (01 September 2018)

Fantastic place, nice relaxing holiday with the family
Kelly from Middlesbrough (31 August 2018)

Absolutely perfect. We go away in lodge breaks all the time and this was one of the best.
Jacqui (31 August 2018)

I love this place so much. I have visited at least 10 times or more now and every visit is more amazing than the last. the tranquility of the forrest, the awe of the log burner, the magic of the hot-tub: it is simply perfect. on our last visit we stayed in lodge 5, in the evening we sat and watched the badgers eat peanut butter whilst relaxing in the hot-tub and drinking champagne - it was wonderful. the location of the lodges is great too - about 20 min drive into york center (depending on if you're stuck being a tractor on the main road). york has an abundance of restaurants and shops to experience - if you're after some where quiet and relaxing with added charm this is your place!
Charmayne from Staffordshire (31 August 2018)

Absolutely amazing
Ian from Manchester (31 August 2018)

Lovely lodge facilities and cleanliness, staff excellent
Nicola from Manningtree (31 August 2018)

We had a great week here.these are described as luxury lodges but they definitely aren’t. They are nice, but not luxurious as described. They could do with some updating and a little more attention to detail , eg pipes should be boxed in in bathroom, plenty of mirrors but not in the right places, appeared clean but not spotless as it should have been. Dust round top of bed and bathroom around toilet not that clean. However, there is everything you need here for a pleasant stay.the lodge was very private and location was lovely. Very quiet and wildlife here is amazing and we would return just for that, especially the badgers! the staff are lovely. The lodges are well located to visit a variety of places such as york, scarborough and knaresborough.
Tracy (24 August 2018)

Great beak away from it all
Hannah from Manchester (24 August 2018)

This is our second visit to griffon forest they are the best cabins by far that we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in lots. It’s pure luxury, home from home everything is provided in the cabins like washers irons etc. Right in the middle of the beautiful forest. Lush forest walks and the badgers came to visit every night. We stayed in the gardeners premiere both times and will continue to come every year. Stunning place.
Joseph from Newcastle Upon Tyne (24 August 2018)

Excellent accommodation. Staff very helpful. Golf facilities good. Food at golf bar ok. Plenty of animal visitors, squirrels, robins, and plenty of badgers. Relaxing location. Would visit again.
Paul from Dubai (24 August 2018)

First time staying here and we would definetly return. Well equipped and spacious lodge and just loved the hot tub! feel like you are away from everything as each lodge is surrounded by trees which made it the perfect place to relax. Very helpful staff who came to check that all was ok and show us how to use the hot tub almost as soon as we arrived. Loved watching the local wildlife via our tv. Cannot fault this holiday, enjoyed every second.
Lesley from Birmingham (24 August 2018)

Lovely surroundings. Lot's of wild life. Just a shame we had some noisy disrespectful neighbours.
Phil from Preston (20 August 2018)

Lovely time, wish booked for longer!!
Amy (19 August 2018)

We have stayed at griffin forest 3 times , the lodge was excellent very clean and comfortable.
Caroline from Clydebank (17 August 2018)

We saw lots of wildlife, including badgers. Great family break!
Helen from Yorkshire (17 August 2018)

I have now been to griffon forest 4 times now with pets and grandchildren I have stayed in different cabins. the cabins arn very neat and tidy every thing you need in a home is there all clean . all cabins in summer time are hidden between trees of the forest . also the forest as had pathways made for walks with pets and kids . also when night time comes after 11/ oclock the wild life comes alive we have seen many baggers /foxes just to name a few . and close by is york asda for your shopping. Been 4 times will be going again
John from Leeds (13 August 2018)

Andrew from Peterlee (10 August 2018)

Had a fantastic time, would love to go back!
Laura from Durham (10 August 2018)

Had a fantastic holiday, wild life was great, badger came every night for his peanut butter sandwiches. The woodland walks were good and the sports bar was handy to stop off for a rest and a drink (dog friendly). will definitely go back next year had such a lovely holiday.
Karen from Newcastle Upon Tyne (06 August 2018)

Very good, our 3rd stay and will go back
Mel from Droitwich (04 August 2018)

It was amazing. Clean and quite. Peace and relax. No one disturb and the views on my the surroundings pure beauty. We relaxed in whole meaning of that. Thank you
Anna from Birmingham (03 August 2018)

Brilliant honeymoon spent here for the week. Very secluded. The lodge had everything you needed. Wildlife was amazing!!
Donna from Hull (03 August 2018)

Fantastic break relaxing and very enjoyable
Alan from Boston (03 August 2018)

Fantastic, second time to griffon forest. griffon forest goes that extra mile to add luxury to each lodge with little touches such as tea and biscuits on arrival, and the lodges are all set-out in such a way that they are secluded and not overlooked by other lodges. We booked two lodges this year as brought my parents who needed a walk-in shower and slope for a mobility scooter, which was included in all the lodges so they were not made to feel different in any way. also brought two teenagers and four dogs between us for the first time. Shall definitely be coming again.
Kim from Norfolk (27 July 2018)

Booked to stay mon- fri as our son was getting married at sandburn on the thursday, had a lovely relaxing couple of days beforehand which I would highly recommend. The lodges had everything you needed, super comfy beds and it was so quiet and peaceful. I wasn’t able to use the hot tub myself but the others loved it! stayed in a woodmans which slept 5 so my son could stay the night before the wedding too as he was also staying in another lodge and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you
Lisa from Doncaster (27 July 2018)

Had a wonderful time relaxing in the lodge and hot tub is a must. Only a short taxi journey away from york which is one of our favorite cities.
Rob from Nottingham (22 July 2018)

Excellent defiantly going back next year for our 1st year anniversary. It was a wonderful honeymoon destination - if I could describe in one word - magical
Nicola from Grantham Lincolnshire (20 July 2018)

My family all had a great time at griffon forest. We all especially liked seeing the badgers which came to visit every night around 8pm, they sure do enjoy peanut butter sandwiches . really friendly staff and the sandburn hall was just a short walk away and served great food.
John from Middlesbrough (20 July 2018)

Fantastic from start to finish!! clean spacious lodge even flowers and chocolate biscuits for our arrival! we will definitely be back staff are so friendly
Christine from Northumberland (20 July 2018)

For:- holiday was great, place is great, lodge was fabulous. . against:- upon arrival, at no time did anyone mention 15 of the lodges were booked out to a wedding party. They were loud rude and obnoxious. This spoil t the experience for us unfortunately.
Andrew from Whitley Bay (16 July 2018)

This lodge was amazing a really good area and really nice inside but the bath inside part of it was broken and leaking over the floor my wife and I needed to use a towel to stop it leaking over the floor. For the price we payed it was disappointing it was expensive and not up to the standard for the price. The area is amazing but wouldn’t pay that much again for the lodge
Christopher (15 July 2018)

Lovely lodge in quiet forest. Enjoyed seeing the badgers. Staff were helpful. Enjoyed the hot tub each evening. Bed very comfy, slept well apart from the noisy pigeon on our roof early hours first night but can’t be helped in a forest. Great location for visiting york and castle howard. Would recommend.
Rachel from Lytham St Annes (13 July 2018)

We arrived to find the lodge very clean, well equipped and with some fresh flowers (a lovely touch I love flowers). absolutely beautiful surroundings and lovely walks for the dog. The wildlife was brilliant the kids loved laying their peanut trail then watching the badgers come out at night. Clubhouse was lovely, food excellent and value for money. Staff were there everyday ensuring the hot tub was perfect for us. Staff in reception were lovely. An absolutely wonderful place to take the family and we will certainly be back.
Andrew from Newcastle Upon Tyne (13 July 2018)

We took a premier lodge for 4 nights. First impressions were very positive apart from a nasty odour from around the sink. Well appointed cabin, with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. Golf club next door with restaurant, limited but superb food. Located just outside york, perfect for shopping and easy access to park and ride. Definitely will book again. Would give higher rating but no wifi and phone signal patchy at best. Being self employed, having a connection is a must have.
John from Fort William (13 July 2018)

Lodge is in desperate need of refurbishment. The lodge was thick with dust on 4 poster bed and on some parts of kitchen . furniture needs replace as giving off funny old smell which we didn’t want to put fresh clothes in . rugs were old and smelt horrible . beds are really uncomfortable.a shame as location is great with fabulous walks , not far from main attractions and restaurant is nice . staff are very friendly . we actually wanted to just come home after day three but stayed as really need to get away from work etc .
Sharon (13 July 2018)

A beautiful and peaceful location. The lodge was spacious, clean and with a very good quality interior and the veranda area with hot tub was completely private. This site is well placed with a number of places of interest to visit within a few miles and the coast a bit further but perfectly accessible for a day out. We would definitely consider staying again.
Kate (13 July 2018)

We stayed at the poacher's superior lodge. The lodge and facilities were lovely. The sports bar and restaurant were only a short walk away. We had badgers visiting mid nights. It was a great few days away and so relaxing. Would certainly recommend.
Jan from North Shields (13 July 2018)

Wonderful relaxing place
Judith from Newmarket (13 July 2018)

Although the overall holiday was a 5* the lodge was beautiful and in an amazing setting and the attention to detail when we arrived was lovely, tea and coffee, wine, chocolates, biscuits, even down too dishwasher tablets! but I do think there is a few issues which need addressing. We got back on friday from a 4 night break, and we stayed in the gardeners premier as there was 2 couples. We thought it would be nice having the jacuzzi baths in each bedroom however our jacuzzi bath didn’t work, which was a let down as one of the reasons we chose this lodge was for the bath. Also the canopy which hangs over the four poster bed had blood splashed up it. I would say the overall cleanliness of the lodge was probably a 3/5 there were dead flies in our kitchen window and cob webs all over. (i know it’s in a forest and to expect some bugs but you could tell these had been here a while and when you can’t check in until 4pm there is plenty of time to clean) I know these aren’t major issues but I do feel when you’re paying a premium price that things like this should be sorted ready for when you arrive. Having said this it was still a very enjoyable holiday once with gave it a little clean ourselves. Staff very helpful and kind, the hot tub was checked everyday for chemicals. Thank you for a lovely holiday but perhaps instead of having tea and coffee ready maybe use this time to make sure that the lodges are a little bit cleaner.
Holly (13 July 2018)

Superb lodge. Good location. A great place to stay. Lodges are private but because they are in the forest you don't get much or any sunshine on the decking. We also had a few bites from the insects. Would be improved if the trees wee cut back a bit to clear the area around the decking. Small point though don't let it out you off as everything else is great.
Paul (06 July 2018)

Great break at the keepers lodge, very peaceful. Just slight issues with general wear and tear throughoutthe lodge, including the deck area.
Andrew from Widnes (06 July 2018)

Perfect for our honeymoon, the main thing we would say is offer wifi to the lodges.
Alex from Doncaster (02 July 2018)

Beautiful, well equiped lodge, lovely surroundings, peaceful and tranquil setting. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Robert from Watford (02 July 2018)

A perfect place for quiet and relaxation.
Ann (29 June 2018)

Nice chilled break away from home.
Donna from Hyde (29 June 2018)

Amazing lovely relaxing place for my family x
Zoe from Sheffield (25 June 2018)

Very peaceful and relaxing place wonderful wildlife
Shirley from Bognor Regis (25 June 2018)

Excellant. Will return.
Lucy from Lowestoft (23 June 2018)

This was our second visit to griffon forest, we were at a wedding the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it, so when we wanted a getaway to relax this was our first thought to come back, we took our dog this time and it was perfect she loved the walks around the forest, the staff were really lovely and helpful, we left our fitbit charger in the cabin, so when I rang the staff were very helpful and posted it out to us the next day, we will certainly be returning
Gail from Rotherham (22 June 2018)

Nice and secluded. Very peaceful
Gererd from Felixstowe (22 June 2018)

Second visit to griffon forest and loved it even more than the first. This time we had badgers to the lodge every evening, at one point we counted 8 which was amazing! I love the layout of the poachers premier and the hot tub is wonderful to sit in on a night once it’s dark. . . we’re returning in november and I can’t wait!
Ann-Marie from Derby (22 June 2018)

Relaxing, chilling, peaceful could not have wished for anything better. See the badger lovely hot tub and jacuzzi lodge was great as well .
Debbie from Cambridgeshire (22 June 2018)

Have visited here many times over the past 13 years but unfortunately this time will be the last. The lodges are in need of a lot of repairs, there were 2 broken tiles around the jacuzzi bath. The shower did not drain properly and you were stood in 2 inches of dirty water every time you took a shower. Grouting in the bathroom is black and mouldy. The outside of the lodge is in need of a jet wash, the cover of the hot tub was filthy and every time we used it was full of flies, so gave up after a couple of times. The outside furniture was filthy and rusted and the sun loungers were disgusting. It is a shame that they are being left to rot as the location of the lodges is fantastic. Hopefully those that can we take on board the feedback and look at refurbishing them as in the current state they are not value for money
Maria (22 June 2018)

This is a lovely place to visit and we will definately be back, the only thing missing is a couple of dog waste bins around the walks, we didn't see any on site at all and had to carry the bags back to the main waste bins by reception. A petty thing I know but I couldn't find anything else negative to say about it.
Karen from Grimsby (18 June 2018)

Brilliant time , lovely lodges loads of room , loved the hot tub , friendly staff all round brilliant break .
Lisa from South Yorkshire (18 June 2018)

Faultless.
Michael from Skipton (15 June 2018)

We stayed here for 4 nights in june with our 2 year old son and our dog. . the lodge was fantastic and had everything we needed. None of the lodges are over looked by others. We had badgers visiting each night. . . great location for walks or visiting yorkshire by car.
Adelle (15 June 2018)

Perfect location for a relaxing, peaceful break from the usual hubbub of life!
Graham from Cefneithin (15 June 2018)

This is an amazing place to spend quality time with loved ones, family or as a weekend trip with friends. Relaxing and peaceful.
Matthew from Wakefield (11 June 2018)

Beautiful place, lovely staff, stunning surrounding, cute authentic lodges! great relaxing week away! dog friendly
Dan from Lincolb (08 June 2018)

Stayed for a weekend. Excellent accommodation and beautiful surroundings
Michelle from Bristol (03 June 2018)

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at griffin forest. . we found the cabin to be extremely clean and the kitchen pack was a great touch. Also thank you for the milk, tea, coffee and especially the chocolate biscuits. There was only one issue in that there was no room for a cot in the third bedroom. We had to do some furniture removing. The rest of the facilities in the cabin were excellent although the sofas were quite uncomfortable, especially as the base cushions on one sofa seemingly did not fit. But overall a fantastic stay.
Jackie from Sheffield (03 June 2018)

Great holiday, enjoyed the peace and quiet of the woods
Russell (01 June 2018)

Very nice location for our north yorkshire holiday. The forest is beautifully landscaped with azaleas and there are lovely walks through it, including one to a restaurant. lodges were spaced out well to give lots of privacy. That gave it a more exclusive feel. The seclusion also meant that we had lots of visits from wildlife including a badger while we were in the hot tub! . . lodges were spacious and welcoming with everything we needed, though the hot tub was quite small for a family of 5. Not a lot on site other than a small shop and the golf club restaurant a small walk away. We used the site as a base to explore the wider area so this was just fine with us! . . the location made it easy for us to go to york and also to explore further afield- yorkshire dales and the north yorkshire moors including whitby. . . helpful staff too.
Caroline (01 June 2018)

Brilliant place to go and my favourite!! if you want a place to relax, unwind and soak up the peace of the country side then this is the place, they now let dogs into the bar at the golf club which is even better, the early morning walks around the trails soaking up the wildlife is fabulous the bird song, deer roaming and a must is to go to reception area at dusk and stand and watch the badgers frolicking....fantastic!! the only down side is it's a little too pricey otherwise we would visit much more often
Mark from Flintshire (28 May 2018)

Loved our stay here! would recommened this place for anyone to stay in! give it families or couples, perfect stay away with shops nearby and bike hire for woodland trails
Chloe (28 May 2018)

Came home with the most horrendous bites! bitten alive could be an accurate description. Take bug spray! the weather was warm, we walked in the forest - the bites possibly from from mosquitoes but not sure - i’ve read another report about bed bugs! 10 days later and we still are itching!. . lodge 49 is looking tired and had a musty smell on entry which remained throughout our 2 night stay. Tree debris falls on patio and hot tub - which can’t be helped in a forest but maybe more attention could be placed on keeping the lodges tidy. Guttering was full of tree debris. Shower blocked very easily, creating full on flood throughout the whole bathroom - keep the loo rolls off the floor!! heard loud scratching both nights which appeared to be in the walls or under the floor - quite unnerving for my son in the 2nd bedroom!! . . on the positive side, the lodge was well stocked in the kitchen and there were plenty of towels for the bathroom. . . loved seeing the badgers and squirrels around our lodge. Make sure you buy food from the onsite shop to put out for the wildlife. . . patio got the sun which was nice to sit and relax on the loungers and chairs. Bbq area was sufficient and shop sells charcoal at a reasonable price. . . golf club bar was pleasant and so were the staff - not overly keen on the managers attitude in the tykes restaurant - shame as the food was very nice but vegetables took an age to arrive with the main course.
Joanne (28 May 2018)

It was fantastic.the lodge was lovely and cosy and very clean.was lovely seeing the badgers.would definitely come again.
Angela from Ashton-In-Makerfield (26 May 2018)

Lodges require updating, although the wildlife was amazing.
Judith from Filry (25 May 2018)

Excellent break, grandchildren & 2 basset hounds loved it.
Graham from Sunderland (25 May 2018)

Had a fab mid week break in lovely log cabin surrounded by beautiful settings will definitely be back.
Gary from Sunderland (18 May 2018)

Really relaxing stay. some really good walks around the area.
Stephen from Willington (18 May 2018)

Griffon forest is a lovely, quiet site. the lodges have plenty of space around them so you don't feel you are on top of your neighbours. we had a very restful time sitting on the deck, watching the wildlife in the woods.
Deborah from Ely, Cambs (18 May 2018)

Wonderful and relaxing break. the highlight was the nightly visit by the bangers. the lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. sitting in the hot tub with all the squirrels and the birds playing on the deck was wonderful.
Robert from Darlington (18 May 2018)

Yet another fantastic break in this delightful forest. Peace and tranquillity at it's finest. The lodges are well equipped and obviously the hot tub is fantastic . the only constructive criticism we have is that the bathrooms are in need of an update they really let the lodge down and are in need of tlc
Penelope from Derby (18 May 2018)

Everything we needed, a wonderful location which is ideal for people who want to get away from it all. So peaceful and quiet.
Michael from Beccles (14 May 2018)

This was our 5th time in the same lodge which was peaceful and romantic and has everything you need. . my only small criticism is that there has been no improvements or modernisation in those 6 years, the freezer drawer is still cracked and the kitchen is now quite dated but overall it is a really beautiful place to be
Kirsty from Milton Keynes (14 May 2018)

Had a great time here, gorgeous location. Badgers come really close if you leave peanut butter sandwiches out for them. Cabin was nice and clean. On site shop closed quite early, this is the only fault I can find. Would defo recommend it and hopefully come back again :-)
Su (11 May 2018)

Lovely warm lodge. Hot tub, badgers, deer, birds. What's not to like.
Irene from Lincoln (04 May 2018)

Lovely relaxing setting with everything you need. Only one or two things needed, log fire and also robes for the hot tubs. Lovely place and highly recommended.
Michael from Rochdale (30 April 2018)

Griffin forest was the first lodge we ever stayed in many years ago and we have stayed in many since then. but griffin forest is our favourite and it was our third visit it will not be our last. you really feel like you are in a forest, it is very secluded and private. loved every minute we were there.
Julie from Hull (30 April 2018)

An absolutely beautiful place to relax and unwind! the walks from your doorstep are just pure pleasure and watching the deer and the rest of the wild life was just wonderful, we would come more often but the only negative I can give is that the prices are slightly high therefore making the trips fewer and far between.
Mark from Nr Chester (30 April 2018)

Spacious lodge, warm and cosy. Very well kitted out. Didn’t try out the hot tub but was reassured that it was checked every day. Food at the restaurant was good and inexpensive. Excellent location for york and castle howard. A very enjoyable stay.
Kathryn from Chester (30 April 2018)

Very nice secluded chalet, really feels like you are in the forest. Only issue I had was with our hot tub. I am disabled, not very good on my feet. Getting into the hot tub without a handle or set of steps was not easy.
Tracy from Reading (27 April 2018)

We really enjoyed it, we have recommended it to our friends and family, we will also be definitely booking it again.
Jessica from Barnsley (27 April 2018)

Paradise. Our place to recharge our batteries and escape from the world. No wi-fi. Everything close by from city only 7 mls away, to the coast. A shopping outlet & shopping mall with park and ride.saving the hassle of parking in york and no worries about over running on time. Buses run well after closing. On site lovely walks and wildlife. From birds to deer & out favourite badgers. Cheapest petrol/diesel at monks cross shopping center. ## all in all paradise.##
Dianne from Lowestoft (23 April 2018)

Lovely break . will return
Rachael from Halifax (23 April 2018)

Absolutely stunning place. Quiet and pieceful. Great place, great facilities. Extremely warm hot tub. Just what we needed.
Donna from Reigate Surrey (20 April 2018)

It was brilliant and relaxing
Glynis from Warrington (20 April 2018)

This is the second time we have stayed here, the last time being two years ago. We foolishly tried another site but you can’t beat this one so we came back this year in mid april. . the lodges are situated to give privacy and as we had two dogs with us the railed in hot tub area meant we could indulge while keeping an eye on the dogs, knowing they were safe. The walks around the forest are great but be aware, as with last time we were there, because it had rained an awful lot before we arrived some of the paths were extremely muddy. This time we brought wellies, but sadly none for the dogs, still standing them in the shower soon changed my daughter’s two black pugs into the correct one black and one fawn pug!!. we stayed in a keeper lodge, which is the cheapest of the range but offered all the facilities we needed. There is a shop on site and other shops / take aways not far away, plus a golf course and bar if you want besides. The weather had changed from the forecast of further rain to sunshine and/ or cloud so we again had a fantastic holiday. We would definitely recommend this site to anyone.
Barry from Cramlington, Northumbria (20 April 2018)

We have stayed in a few cabins and this didn't match up.
Kim from Middlesex (13 April 2018)

The lodge was dirty on arrival and was in need of a good deep clean. Furniture was tired.
Sue from Manchester (13 April 2018)

Lovely lodges, very clean lots of lovely walks, the only down side was the beds were so uncomfortable the mattress were very hard but beautiful place
Dorothy from Cheshire (13 April 2018)

The accommodation was great, the locations superb and very handy for york. the park and ride was really handy for getting to the city centre. The staff were magnificent and very helpful and friendly. The only negative was that on the first day our lodge was not ready, (which was not a problem as we were early) so we decided to feed the kids and ourselves in the 'sports bar'. the food there was not very good, badly presented, served to us all at different time (we'd ate ours long before the kids got theirs) and it looked to have come fresh from the freezer, it would have put us off the tykes restaurant (which has its name on the kids menu's), but we did go in there the next day for lunch with friends and the difference was incredible. the food in the tykes restaurant was great, couldn't fault it and would highly recommend the steak night.
Iain from North Shields (13 April 2018)

Large lodge. Everything you need is there. Very clean and lovely and warm when we arrived. Kids loved the jacuzzi bath. Great location really close for shopping in york the outlet or 30 mins from leeds. Had terrible weather for our stay but didn't stop us having a lovely relaxing family break. Would definitely stay again.
Linda from Hull (07 April 2018)

Beautiful surroundings and very comfortable lodge. Would definitely return so highly recommended.
Darren (06 April 2018)

Great location and site. The cabin was very nice but a little tired considering the price. Overall very happy.
Neil (06 April 2018)

Stunning scenery, hot tub amazing! . bathroom and beds in need of updating.
Louise from Derby (06 April 2018)

Wonderful place
Sally from Edinburgh (31 March 2018)

It was the third time I have stayed at griffon forest and it just gets better and better. This time I booked for our wedding anniversary so the romantic setting was ideal. We took feed for the birds (as we always do) and was delighted when we had a woodpecker visit us twice. What we hadn't bargained for was the badgers.. what a delight we had three badgers visit us every evening (they loved peanut butter sandwiches). we will be booking again, we have stayed at other lodges but nothing has compared to griffon in the seclusion and peacefulness of the site.
Susan from Hull (30 March 2018)

Lovely setting. Great accommodation- go for the gardner’s premier. Worth paying a bit more for extra space especially in the bathrooms.
Jeremy (30 March 2018)

Excellent long weekend.
Lee from Bridgend (26 March 2018)

Excellent location and superb lodge
Graham (24 March 2018)

Nice place just to switch off for a few days and relax, the wildlife life is amazing to see up close and using the many flat walking trails is easy on both owner and pet, hot tub on the decking is superb at night with a few drinks. Wi fi would be a bonus but not a deal breaker.
Steven from Barnsley. (23 March 2018)

Wonderful setting lovely lodge
Barbara from Peterborough (23 March 2018)

Had a great time at griffin, gardeners lodge was wonderful and facilities were great. Hot tub amazing, lovely to be sat in if an evening and seeing the badgers walk by!
Megan (23 March 2018)

Had a brilliant time but was restricted a bit due to bad weather and having a dog with us. Dogs are allowed on the patios in the pubs but with such bad weather it was apply able really but overall had a lovely relaxin holiday
Bernadette from Redcar (19 March 2018)

This is the 2nd time we have been to griffon forest & love the peace & tranquility. You feel relaxed as soon as you get to the end of the driveway. Just perfect!
David from Oxfordshire (16 March 2018)

Beautiful accommodation and surroundings. Very happy with our holiday
Rachael from Manchester (16 March 2018)

Lovely and relaxing a real break from the outside world.
Sarah from Saltburn (12 March 2018)

Lovely lodges , i’ve stayed in the poachers which is beautiful and has a real romantic feel and a gardeners lodge which was also very nice . visited a few times now and will definitely be going again
Joanne from Peterborough (12 March 2018)

We had the best time ever here. We wondered if we’d see any badgers and in the end we lost count! just loved them.
Jordan from Cheshire (12 March 2018)

Relaxing quiet peaceful place with enjoyable walks and york close by
Julie from Co Durham (12 March 2018)

Unfortunatly I was very unwell while there. However the place was loverly. Wildlife everywere. So peaceful. The lodges were well equiped warm and great for pet friendly holidays. The people when they new that my back had gone could not have been more helpfull. Thank you griffon forrest for the holiday.and caring. Will be returning
Karen from Brierley Hill West Mids (09 March 2018)

Love every seconds going back asap
Shirley from Cirencester (02 March 2018)

Nice place to stay
Alan from Cambridge (02 March 2018)

Lovely location very nice surroundings, lovely walks. Very nice well equipped lodge lovely hot tub.
Rachel (26 February 2018)

It was wonderful to watch the squirrels playing and being so close to the forest. . the one downside was the restaurant - very poor quality meat cuts, for the amount of money charged.
Sarah (23 February 2018)

Our escape haven, have visited griffon several times and will keep going back, beautiful, relaxing, fun, luxury, wildlife, peace, easy to tour from, excellent staff, that is why we keep going back!
Karen from Gloucestershire (19 February 2018)

Had a fantastic and relaxing time, hot tub was amazing. Our rottweiler/collie cross really enjoyed the woodland walks. Only down side is you couldn't take dogs in restaurant and as you couldn't leave them in lodge found it a bit restricting. They did have kennels by the reception area though.
Rachel from Manchester (19 February 2018)

Lovely place, in the middle of knowwhere, very peaceful and relaxing
Ian from North Shields (19 February 2018)

The lodges were well laid out and equipped, however, if you are looking to go with pets then the pet friendly locations are not within walking distance and we found this a little limiting at the time of year we went (february) as you cannot leave your dogs in the accommodation alone and the day kennels are not suitable for the majority of pet dogs who have not stayed in kennels before
Mark (16 February 2018)

4 night break just what we needed. Cabin had everything we needed. Only downside . no wifi.. I suppose I was supposed to be getting away from it all. Ha! good central location and places to eat not too far away. Thompsons fish restaurant is a must. To top my break of I saw badger..brill. Would come again for a friday saturday night stay.
Debra from Great Lumley Chester Le Street (16 February 2018)

Wonderful!!!
Zane from Northallerton (16 February 2018)

A perfect getaway to all your home comforts and more
Andrew from Aylesbury (16 February 2018)

The lodge was really clean and easy to find with great facilities and an easy to use hot tub. The walks through the forest were lovely and relaxing and we saw some great wildlife. There are plenty of things to do nearby and the on site shop really came in handy. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Mark from Doncaster (12 February 2018)

Amazing log cabin just a few things needed to be done there was cob webs near radiator in bed cob web ceiling
Rebecca (12 February 2018)

Amazing place spent 4nights beginning of february and we have booked to go back for 7nigjts in october. Photos don't do this place justice. Definitely reccommend
Debra from Morpeth (09 February 2018)

Gorgeous stay! would definitely recommend
Kira from Middlesbrough (09 February 2018)

Great value, staff are so friendly and helpful. Lodge was clean and cosy. Hot tub was very hot. the visitors (badgers) at night was exciting to see them so close. Nice chilled relaxing time.
Stephen from Coventry (09 February 2018)

Absolutely loved the lodge. Perfect surroundings.
Katie from Sheffield (09 February 2018)

Excellent holiday. the cabin was superb. Clean, tidy, full equipped and warm (on what was a very cold week). the hot tub was excellent, the bed was very comfortable as was the settee. the streaming of the wildlife into the cabin was a real treat and we saw many birds (including wood pecks and a hawk) as well as the badgers and other small animals.
Patricia from Preston (09 February 2018)

Amazing time. Cannot fault this beautiful setting.
Julia from Stoke (09 February 2018)

Fantastic place home from home
Pamela from Manchester (09 February 2018)

Beautiful clean, comfortable lodges, excellent location, well maintained.
Ian from Bury (05 February 2018)

Lovely and relaxing the lodges have everything you could want, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, hairdryer, ironing board, all of the lodges are private with their own driveway
Gordon from Doncaster (05 February 2018)

Another brilliant weekend at griffon. The combination of the location, timber lodges and the marvellous hot tub brings us back again and again. Cannot recommend enough!
Stephen from Nottingham (05 February 2018)

Cosy cabins in a beautiful forest brimming with wildlife! perfect getaway for us and our labrador. Love the location and nearby facilities with restaurant at sandburn hall! lovely countryside in the surrounding areas with convenient access to a64. . our fifth visit and won’t be our last!
Justine from Our Fifth Visit And Won’T Be Our Last! (05 February 2018)

Thought the overall place was great, even the rain didn’t spoil it.
Derek from Griffin Forest (05 February 2018)

Such a lovely place for a relaxing weekend away. The lodges are cosy and you really can’t beat the outdoor hot tub when it’s cold!
