Good location, free parking just by law lodges, lots of dog walking on your door step, local pub and shop a short walk down hill. Owner is very friendly and helpful with well kept lodges and gardens.
Ian from Bristol (07 October 2016)

We loved gratton cedar lodge, small and compact but all you need for a base. It's perfectly positioned for exploring everything north devon has to offer. Close to an amazing eatery called the sawmill. The only criticism was the sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on, but everything you could ever need was available at reception. Beautiful area and amazing views.
Tracy from Malborough, Devon (01 October 2016)

Really lovely place, nice a cosy what we were expecting. Facilities in lodge were great. Enter than expected. Apart from bath room, could have done with a. It if updating. Toilet leaked from condensation and made the floor cold, toilet door had warped from the damp and didn't close easily or fully without force to open and shower cubicle was a bit grotty and old/ dark as main light didn't light it up really. Was lovely though and have recommended it to lots of people already.
Ben (30 September 2016)

A lovely few days away!
Christina from Salisbury (26 September 2016)

Great location. We love walking .only bad mark its at the top of a very steep hill otherwise brilliant
Andrew from Ng16/Nottingham (24 September 2016)

The location was attractive but I had not appreciated the distance from local facilities or the immediate terrain. this meant daily use of a vehicle. I had hoped there would be some facilities on site such as a cafe/bar/shop but there was nothing. the reception was reported to be manned twice daily but it never was manned the whole 6 days we were there. we did see somebody later on the first day but we had already located a key to our lodge and let ourselves in. we did leave a day early as there was little point in staying on and the site was virtually deserted.
Gregory from Warminster (17 September 2016)

We had a lovely relaxing few days. If you want peace and quiet then this is an ideal site. We would stay here again.
Derek (09 September 2016)

A peaceful and relaxing place to stay, a good base to explore north devon from. The walk to the pubs is a little further than described but well worth it, food is amazing. Wi-fi is quite slow and only managed to connect once or twice but we were in one of the highest lodges. The lodge itself has all you need, comfy beds, good kitchen, and great showers, and dogs are welcome. Take note of the accessibility it is as described, a steep walk to the lodges.
Chris from Burton Upon Trent (09 September 2016)

The gratton cedar lodges were a lovely tranquil stay set high up on the hills of berrynarbor. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Lodge was cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Be prepared for steep hills on the drive or walk to and from the lodges.
Hannah from Coventry (02 September 2016)

My review : . grettons seeder lodges is a very peaceful brilliant place to stay, the lodges are good sizes to sleep in and stay.however there are a few issues I had: there was no freezer, the wifi was awful and barely worked, the plates and bowls etc were dripping wet the first time I got them out,the whole time there was insects going round especially moths, there was a pube on the pillow and a few long strands of dark hair, the duvets seemed unwashed, the fans/heaters didn't work properly they were full of dust. Apart from the issues we had, it was a nice area and place to stay. Loose paying stones to lodges. This site has some improvements to make with the standard of fittings , bathrooms to include a dry area and the wifi which only worked about 5 minutes of the week. Disappointed !
Archie from Wales (02 September 2016)

This was a truely amazing location with lovely views - ideal location to nearby beaches specially for those with dogs - staff was friendly and very accommodating - cabins were cosy and warm and relaxing - really great experience !!!
Sean from Maidenehead (02 September 2016)

An excellent short break in a quiet and beautiful location . very helpful and sociable owner.
Paul from Reading (29 August 2016)

A beautiful weekend in the most lovely setting! such a friendly family run place, can't wait to return.
Leah (29 August 2016)

A fabulous location, very helpful and friendly staff. I would go again.
Sarah from Long Eaton (27 August 2016)

Lovely location, friendly, helpful staff.
Jane (26 August 2016)

Lovely little place, exceptional views. Our lodge would not be suitable for people with mobility issues. I would definitely go back. Thank you.
David from Coventry (15 August 2016)

Stayed in appledore lodge. Can't complain about the price of the lodge. Could do with a revamp as bit damp & musty inside. Location a bit too secluded although very scenic area. Ideal for quiet break away. Staff pleasent & friendly.
Sarah (12 August 2016)

The park is quite small but set in lovely area. the local amenities, however, are practically non-existent. the staff are extremely helpful and courteous.
Jo from Lancashire (06 August 2016)

The staff were pleasant enough but the cleanliness of the lodge wasn't great
Ross from Birmingham (05 August 2016)

The owners were very helpful an informative, beautiful location and would certainly stay there again.
Jenny from Cheltenham (29 July 2016)

It was a lovely stay there. We loved the area and the piece around. Lots of fresh air and healthy walks. David was helpful when meeting us and gave as much information as possible. We felt welcomed. It's a pity we never could try the free range eggs david offered, as always someone was quicker than us. Maybe the next time :) we had stunning views from our lodge.
Gunita from Brighton (29 July 2016)

A beautiful tranquil location.
Tracy from New Forest (22 July 2016)

Beautiful lodge with stunning views. staff were very friendly, and bought us up a jug of milk when we arrived so we could have a cuppa! they had supplied tea, coffee and sugar. You could borrow video's, and also anything you needed for the beach, ie deck chairs. Would definitely come here again. Fantastic few days.
Hayley from Southampton (22 July 2016)

A lovely little hideaway with the perfect hosts. Every little detail was thought of - including the torch that you can borrow from reception to get up the steps to your lodge. Can't wait to return soon.
Ashley from Somerset (18 July 2016)

Excellent value for money. Incredibly clean. Visited with small children and the owners were incredibly helpful and friendly. Lovely quiet site yet close to many places. I will definitely be returning soon!
Rhianna from Worcestershire (17 July 2016)

Our stay at grattons lodge was a very wonderful one the views are fantastic and the lodges are perfect for a escape and relax unfortunately we had to leave early but the owner was very friendly and helpful I would recommend this place to everyone looking for a nice quiet retreat .
Aaron from Seaford (15 July 2016)

We had a fantastic break ,perfect for exploring round and about . the site was very well maintained and the owner was very helpful. And friendly the lodge was well equipped and lovely and clean I will . recommend this site to friends and family
Robert from Hereford (11 July 2016)

Loved it here. The 'steps problem'mentioned in other reviews were no problem what so ever. Would definitely book here again.
Lesley from Exeter (10 July 2016)

Highly recommended. Shalets are clean and cosy. Setting is beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hopefully going back again next year. Lovely place
Mark from Manchester (08 July 2016)

Lovely place. Very chilled out. Thanks to the owners, very nice people.
Jon (08 July 2016)

Basic but good value and within reasonable distance from other places. Big plus for us was being able to take dogs into pubs/restaurants.
Richard from Cambridge (02 July 2016)

We were disappointed with lodge from day 1. The on site manager was extremely nice and helpful. everything provided in the lodge we had was extremely basic and in as much as dogs are allowed in the lodges I felt as though we were being penalised for taking our 2 dogs with us. I spilled some water accidentally from the kitchen sink and had to wipe the floor. I dried the floor only to find the wooden floor was very dirty. We went shopping for 2 rugs to put down on the main walkway through the kitchen diner. the bedside lamp was very basic and didnt work. The outside light worked 1 night and broke after that. We found the shower wasnt draining properly and we were standing in inches of water before it drained away properly. Im thankful we didnt have to use the sofa bed to sleep on as it was really unclean and once again very basic with little comfort. the bedroom is basic with a metal framed hanger and drawer ensemble for clothes but the bed was very cleanly prepared with new bedding. We found the kitchen area to be satisfactory for minimal use but once again very basic and the 2 supplied can openers didnt work. I think the lodge we were in needs some attention and updating. Dining seats were damaged with deep scrapes and scratches and not very inviting to sit on. the tv remote didnt work but we managed to get the tv to work eventually without it. I appreciate some comments may sound petty but when you've saved up and driven for 7 hours to reach your holiday destination and find a lodge that needs attention , it's so disappointing. if you take dogs dont worry about them damaging anything, they cant. . the steps to the lodge are stone and of varying sizes so be aware if you have mobility problems especially on wet days. This brings me to a suggestion about supplying coat hooks for wet coats on those wet days instead of hanging them over dining chairs to dry. Coat hooks in general would be beneficial. As for the entrance to the site it is extremely narrow and on a substantial incline. . at this point I have to say our saturday to saturday holiday ended mid week on wednesday. My husband went to reception to speak of our problems but no one was there except a note saying to post any keys through the letter box. we did and went home. these lodges may suit lots of holiday makers but we were very disappointed at the overall condition of the one we were in and will not be returning.
Kevin from Doncaster (02 July 2016)

Lovely relaxing holiday some very steep hills but this was mention on website - was a challenge driving a big car up some of the hills- this would not stop us returning for another holiday!!
Debbie from Birmingham (01 July 2016)

Get away from it weekend
Adam (27 June 2016)

Lodge smaller than anticipated but well equipped. ideal location for touring north devon.
Phillip from Herne Bay. Kent (25 June 2016)

Will be back.
Lee from Essex (24 June 2016)

A really relaxing place to stay and lovely family run business . would stay there again anytime .
James from Buckfastleigh Devon (18 June 2016)

It was lively but really to not include power just seems out dated. It was cold and I must have put 25 in the meter for some basic heat. So will not return which is a pity. near ones do include power and central heating.
Shirley from Bristol (18 June 2016)

Had a really good time there. Great people and great place !!
Abhishek from London (13 June 2016)

A very pleasant and peaceful holiday
Ray from Farnham (10 June 2016)

Fantastic location, everything you need in the lodge.
Karen from Birmingham (03 June 2016)

The route to anywhere involves a narrow country lane for 1.5m. If you are nervous about backing up to a pull over on a hill then think seriously about this location. The hosts were charming and very helpful.
Gary from Swindon (03 June 2016)

A very quiet, away from it all break. The area is very hilly which can be challenging however we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Carol from West Midlands (03 June 2016)

We had a super holiday. Thank you. Great hospitality. Very welcoming. Everything we needed. Even superb weather!!. . will definitely return!. highly recommended!
Julia from Warwick (03 June 2016)

Lovely, quiet picturesque location. Just a shame we can't control the weather.
Alex (22 May 2016)

Lovely views and clean & tidy lodge, helpful owners and we will be back again!
Maurice from Bristol (20 May 2016)

Absolutely loved our week at gratton cedar lodges!! it was lush. The lodge was cosey and comfy. The views were stunning and there staff were sooo friendly and helpful!! it was definitely the perfect little get away for our anniversary. Don't have a bad thing to say about it!!
Daisy from Bristol (20 May 2016)

The accommodation was very nice , clean and tastefull. staff were very helpful and approachable especially when one of the children were poorly and we needed some new bedding ! it was a lovely friendly atmosphere in a beautifull setting and we would certainly recommend to others looking for a similar holiday. The only thing that was atall negative and that was just for us was we were expecting a bigger playground and this was only a minor issue because our children were older, what was on offer was perfectly adequate for younger children but perhaps not for our 10 year olds . . all in all lovely.
Donna from Bridport (15 May 2016)

Enjoyed my stay
John (09 May 2016)

The situation was beautiful and lovely and quiet. The lodge seemed tired , rusty cooker. Definitely only enough room for 2, no where to put cases bags rucksacks.
Hilary from Shrewsbury (07 May 2016)

Great place friendly owner excellent views from cabin which was comfortable & clean and great location for getting about would stay again ..
Raymond (06 May 2016)

Had a great time and would love to come back! xx
Samantha from Essex (02 May 2016)

Outstanding weekend break, the location is amazing. The lodges are perfect and have everything you can think of and nothing is too much trouble for the helpful owners. Can't wait to return!
Paul (02 May 2016)

A lovely, peaceful location with views across the valley. Despite being on a steep hillside the chalets are quite accessible. I took my my 95 year old mother there for a short break and the saunton chalet was easily accessible for her. Highly recommended.
Max from Weymouth (29 April 2016)

Very nice relaxing few days. Staff was helpful ,accomadation wasclean and tidy has every thing you need.
Tracey from Bovey Tracey (25 April 2016)

Really nice owners. Well equipped lodge that was clean and tidy. All you need for a short stay is there, utensils plates etc. Value for money was excellent and will definitely be staying again.
Luke from Bromsgrove (17 April 2016)

Very friendly on arrival with lots of information provided about the place and surrounding area. lodge was very clean and comfortable. thoroughly enjoyed are family break away and would recommend. the lodges are on an incline but this is explained in the brochure.
Samantha from Cheltenham (04 April 2016)

Beautiful area and a smashing valley location. Lodges were tidy and clean, 1 double and 1 twin with a sofa bed. Tight for a family of 5 but no awkward surprises. On the slight negative they were very cold. No issue in summer but an easter break was chilly. Lodges have electric heaters but would be much warmer with more efficient heating. A well cared for holiday lodge park and a lovely family who couldn't do enough to make you welcome. Would stay again for a short break.
Paul from Warwickshire (28 March 2016)

Great place to stay.
Chelsea (28 March 2016)

Really nice holiday! lovely lodges, the owner is very friendly and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and at home. Very highly recommended! many thanks!
David from Gloucestershire (28 March 2016)

Beautiful lodge - spotlessly clean.
Sian from Bournemouth (28 March 2016)

Had a fantastic break, owners very helpful. Lodge was very spacious and had everything you needed for your holiday. Driveway is a bit steep and the steps can get a bit slippy but all of this is on the information provided so please don't get there and start moaning about it, you were pre warned. Overall this is a great value for money break and we will definitely be returning.
Jeremy from Alfreton (03 January 2016)

The nicest lodges we have stayed at,beautiful views and surroundings and the best equipped we have ever seen, everything you could need was available and the owners were the most helpful and friendly even decorated for xmas thank you.
Peta from Birmingham (30 December 2015)

Was very disappointed when was told to keep putting £1 coins to have electricity. Already paid a lot for a very small ( not cosy ) lodge, did not expect to pay for electricity separately. Staff very friendly and helpful, beautiful suroundings, great area, but wouldn't go there again.
Vadims from Evesham (27 December 2015)

We stayed in the robin lodge for a week in october. we had a fantastic stay the lodge was lovely and they had supplied everything you may have needed. The staff were very helpful and the location was beautiful. We had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend a stay here.
James from Peterborough (30 October 2015)

We had an amazing time at the lodge. It rained everyday however we still got out with our waterproofs and enjoyed the surrounding countryside. Its such an amazing area of the county with amazing walks and beautiful beaches. The lodge is cosy and basic but perfect for a no-nonsense break. Would definitely recommend
Richard from Portsmouth (30 October 2015)

Fantastic location, scenery and surroundings.
Gary from Cheslyn Hay (30 October 2015)

The wet leaves at the entrance caused difficulty getting the car to grip
Richard from Rushden (30 October 2015)

Basic lodge but very good value for money.k

Wayne from Wiltshire (16 October 2015)

Had a lovely time very pleasant staff very nice and lodge was clean and tidy
Kathy (09 October 2015)

Although the lodge is very basic it was comfortable. It has stunning views overlooking berrynarbour and towards the cliffs and sea. The site is so peaceful. Just what we wanted. Our two dogs loved the exercise field with again amazing views. There was a seat to relax and enjoy! the site is ideal for visiting ilfracombe which is nearby and other places. I woudn't bother with the village pub, the globe as the staff really couldnt care less. We had a meal there on my birthday and the service was appalling. We found excellent eateries elsewhere, especially in ilfracombe which is only ten or fifteen minutes away. I definitely reccommend this holiday park and the owner was very friendly and helpful. I would like to return again one day.
Susan from Sherborne (28 September 2015)

We enjoyed a relaxing long weekend at grattons. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
John from Bristol (28 September 2015)

Beautiful views from our lodge and had everything we needed. The staff looked after me and my family very well. Hoping to return for 2 weeks next year.

Alice from Hemel Hempstead (19 September 2015)

Peaceful location. Very clean.
Kim from Portscatho (19 September 2015)

With beautiful surroundings and all you can need to make your stay comfortable, this place is certainly deserving of a second visit. what a fantastic base to discover the area!
Amy (18 September 2015)

The lodge was on the small side and could have been cleaner. The site said that the area was hilly but I am afraid it was unbelievably hilly and we all struggled including our friends who do a lot of walking
Janet from Redditch (12 September 2015)

A lovely place in a beautiful area with everything you could want on the site and in the surrounding places, we loved it.
Sue from Northampton (11 September 2015)

Great location. Good value. Lovely places nearby to visit. Perfect for families with dogs
Claire from Sedgley (11 September 2015)

Beautiful location, tricky drive if large vehicle, not standard we expected.
Angela from Hertfordshire (05 September 2015)

Nice place to stay and to have the dog with us. Our cabin was clean and so was the bedding idel for to adults and dog.heating and elec very cheap do need to drive as road to pub village dark and step . the castle is a must to see and shops/pubs do welcome dogs. We was shown 3 bed cabin and they do look better
William from Telford Shropshire (04 September 2015)

Lovely stay and such lovely people.
Coleen from Northamptonshire (31 August 2015)

We spent 7 night at the partridge lodge. It was excellent, just what we wanted relaxed and chilled. The owners were very helpful, showed us around when we arrived. Tea, coffee and milk provided on arrival, a lovely touch. Laundry and extra freezer space are available. The beds were really comfy, a great night sleep. Lots of activities to do in the area. Helpful information folder at the lodge. great views, berrynarbor is a very pretty village, with a pub, tea room, gift shop and village shop/post office. We will definitely be visiting again, thanks for a great time.
Emma from Wellingborough (29 August 2015)

The seating area looked like it needed updating and the bedrooms were too cold. Lodge is in need of tlc.
Tracy from Grimsby (29 August 2015)

Setting and staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. We really enjoyed our short break away. Accomodation was very good value for money and the area itself is stunning.
Ian (17 August 2015)

Would definitely return there for a break it was quiet and out of the way just what me and the wife were looking for, would recommend to anyone who was just looking to relax and go for long walks with the dog.
Lee from Warminster (14 August 2015)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at grattons, the staff were really helpful and the location is beautiful.
Annette (08 August 2015)

Lovely place to stay nice and quiet and friendly people
Carla from Tenbury Wells (08 August 2015)

We had a lovely warm welcome, the lodge was homely, comfortable, and cosy. The lodge had all the amenities that you need and it was very clean and in good condition. the area is beautiful and tranquil and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas, visiting the village, combe martin, hele bay, ilfracombe, barnstaple, woolacombe and walking on the coastal paths.
Heather from Nottinghamshire (08 August 2015)

Had a lovely time really easy to find with lots around to do for all ages
Alison from East Sussex (03 August 2015)

My husband and I have a wonderful time in this relaxing and picturesque location. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we had everything we needed in the cabin along with a vast amount of leaflets and information about the local area. Although we didn't bring ours this time, the site is very dog friendly and we would have no worries about bringing ours here. We would be more than happy to return for another stay in the future.
Sarah from Worcester (31 July 2015)

Went in july for a 7 night stay at the buttercup lodger. The area is nice and is a good walk up from the pub. Some people say the hill is steep, which it is, but nothing too much and provided a enjoyable walk from the local pub. One to note though is both the local pubs lacked real ales which was a real disappointment!. . the drive to the park is on some good country roads and provide for a good drive, but only if you are a confident driver, but if you aren't you shouldn't be looking at this area full stop for a holiday!. . the lodge was clean and good value for money, I have seen reviews on here complaining about the standard of the places, but you must remember that the lodges are reasonably priced and if you want all posh stuff then go somewhere and pay 5 times more. . the bed was very comfortable and spacious and is probably the best bed we have stayed in. The area had all the amenities you could want including a selection of dvds in reception. . the disappointing thing was that we never got to meet the owners, I like to meet the people in charge and missed the personal touch. The lodge was also advertised as complimentary tea, coffee & milk but there was no milk only the drinks. No issue for the wife but I like a nice cupper and also the fridge had no bar across which made keeping milk difficult. . don't be put off with the cost of the electricity as a first it sounds expensive but it really isn't. We have the oil heater on a few times to dry towels etc and the other heaters on a cold night but it only cost us a few quid for the whole week, bargain!. . wifi can be a bit patchy but you figure out where is best to get a signal. . bad bits. . the entrance to the park is very steep which caused issues with getting my car in and out of the site. Although there is nothing the owners could do about this, I feel that a little more information on this would have been good before we went as we would have taken my wifes new meriva and had no issues with that. Instead it provided entertainment the first night there as trying to get my astra out was a challenge and after taking a gamble on going forward was unfortunate to crack the bumper and the car is only 6 months old. Eventually figured out that needed to reverse out of the entrance to avoid damage although this was hampered when people parked in the bin area due to the limited parking. Beaware that if you have a lowish car you could have problems getting in and out. Yes the drive is tight with a wide car, but as long as your careful you won't have a problem. . in summary. . this is the first time we have been to grattons but would come back to stay again as the location is perfect for a holiday. We would also recommend it for people to stay
Rob from Rotherham (25 July 2015)

Great place this was our 3rd stay.. will return again this year
Sarah (25 July 2015)

Catherine (24 July 2015)

A great place to relax and to enjoy the north devon coast line. The staff are very welcoming as were the lodges. . overall a great holiday.
John from Cumbria (24 July 2015)

Fantastic stay, had everything you need. In a lovely area. Definitely need a car to get there though. Worth every penny.
Zoe from London (20 July 2015)

Very nice, well located and quiet
John from Plymouth (20 July 2015)

The lodge is very nice inside, its basic but has everything you would need for the weeks holiday, its clean and all appliances work well. The only negative is that the sofa is a little uncomfortable to sit on and as my husband has a bad back he sat on the dining chairs for the weeks stay - which wasn't the end of the world, just thought I would mention it. . the little touches are what made the stay for us, the people who run it have got so many things you can borrow from the reception area and laundry during your stay which was so thoughtful, we found this to be a lovely thing for the owners to do for their guests.
Karen (18 July 2015)

We enjoyed our stay in the grattons cedar lodges. Very friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. The nearby village berrynarbor is very well kept.
Huib (18 July 2015)

Quite place with nice surroundings cabins have everything you need. Owners are very friendly & helpful would recommend it
Andrew from Welwyn Garden City (17 July 2015)

Fabulous lodge, very clean and modern. we don't normally holiday off the beaten track, but this was a break with our dog, so was perfect-especially as we got a last minute deal for a weekend break. was a bit out of the way, and the roads were windy and narrow, but the accommodation made up for it. we stayed at the pixie lodge
Jan from Stratford Upon Avon (13 July 2015)

The lodges were fine for us. value for money and everything you needed but for families wanting entertainment etc then this is not the place for you. quiet and idyllic and fabulous views. may be difficult for people with walking difficulties. owner was very helpful & pleasant.
Jayne from Welling (13 July 2015)

We stayed in primrose, and absolutely loved it. The lodge was squeakly clean and had everything you could possibly want. The surrounding gardens were lovely, and help to the feeling of privacy which is also due to the way the lodges are placed. There is a very useful iformation pack in the lodge and also in the nearby reception which is always open and the owners are friendly and helpful as well. . there are lovely walks and views around the lodges and all in all would definitely stay there again.
Jacqueline from London (11 July 2015)

Beautiful setting, beautiful view. Everything you need in the lodge and a great base to explore the surrounding areas
Christopher from Norfolk (11 July 2015)

Fabulous accommodation, very friendly owner, beautiful walks and very dog friendly. . . great location, with beautiful views. . . the lodge has everything you need, and is very clean and tidy.
Sophie from Bournemouth (06 July 2015)

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful & relaxing, very clean, good wifi, lovely friendly owners, definitely coming back
Julie from Atherstone (04 July 2015)

Had a lovely stay here the village was beautiful and people were very friendly our dog lucy loved all the attention. An ideal location but wouldn't be suitable if you had difficulty in walking as the lodges were up a steep incline. all in all a very enjoyable holiday.
Janice from Frome (03 July 2015)

Woodpecker lodge was just charming, surrounded by stunning scenery, we could see the sea and some of whales, our lodge looked down on the berrynarbour village, very quaint! the owner met us when we arrived and was very friendly showed us around the site had everything needed including free range eggs, torches for night walks and help yourself to books, dvds and much more, there is local shop, post office and pub in the wee village walking distance, all the local people where really friendly and welcoming, I would love to go back, the only thing I struggled with was the steel curvy hill to the entrance of the site, but after the first time up I decided to just park on the hill before the entrance and the local people where happy for me to park outside their home, lovely area. Lots of beaches to explore not far in car, the sea was turquoise when sunny, we loved hele bay it was like a greek island. Ilfracomes harbour was buzzing with atmosphere, lovely wee shops bars cafés .
Lyncaro from Blantyre Glasgow (03 July 2015)

Booked to sleep three but only one double bed
Yvonne (27 June 2015)

Karen from Nottingham (27 June 2015)

We had a wonderful stay here, the lodges are great and the hosts were really nice and helpful, however the surrounding roads are steep and twisty and no place for our mpv and we had to have the suspension on it repaired during our stay. everything else was great
Ray from Scarborough (27 June 2015)

Very nice a bit out of the way and shop to far for a nice walk
Martin from London (27 June 2015)

We spent 4 nights here at the beginning of june, it was our second visit and definitely won't be our last! our lodge was clean and comfortable and a great base for exploring the area. We have 3 dogs who loved it as much as we did, there is plenty of walking from the site itself and lots of beautiful walks on the sw coast paths.
Emma from Kendal (05 June 2015)

A lovely, simple but yet cosy lodge at a peaceful location. really enjoyed our trip to grattons & found the site quite & relaxing - perfect for people who just want to get on with their break & not be fussed with holiday parks and their packages. a hidden gem. . lovely staff and useful information about the area in our lodge too. Set handy for exploring & a lovely walk to the village too. . lodge not the fanciest but well equipped and furnished.

The cabin was fine but furniture was poor credit card
Martin from Swindon (30 May 2015)

They knew we were a party of 5 and yet there was only bedding for 4 - the only form of heating was a fan heater in the lounge - we were frozen. There was no spare bedding and it was really cold at night especially for the children. We were feeding the electricity meter over £25! if you put £1 in nothing happened we had to put in at least £4 for the electric to come back on again. The windows were rotten and were running with condensation. The toilet was leaking and the seat was broken. The slabs outside the property were uneven and wobbly and we had to tread carefully so as not to fall over.

It was the first holiday with our baby and we loved it at the grattons cedar. Being family run, hosts are very welcoming and ensured we have everything we needed for the baby. . we don't have pets, so were concerned with pet hair but the cottage was very clean and well kept. . . views were breathtaking and location was ideal to explore the exmoor. . will definitely return for another trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at grattons, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodge was clean and tidy and had a modern interior. The setting was picturesque and had amazing views. The only down side was that we were not allowed to leave our dogs in the cabin unattended, I would of liked to of known this before booking as I may of looked for alternative accommodation, but overall it was great and I would go back there.
