The hottub was the best thing about our break. there is no wifi or phone signal which we thought was wonderful, however some people could be put off by this. The lodge really has potential, but unfortunately everything was just a little bit tired and dated. The lodge was clean, and the bed was comfortable, apparently the mattress was new. The water pressure for the shower was awful (through a combination boiler) so new electric showers would do a much better job. Would I visit again?... probably not.
Catherine from South Wales (19 September 2016)

Lovely quiet peaceful location.
Amanda from Kent (10 September 2016)

Fantastic holiday, the staff were always very helpful and pleasant, we really enjoyed our time there and would love to come back again. You are out in the wilderness which is really lovely and peaceful. Thankyou goodiford mill lakes.
Donna from Narberth (06 August 2016)

Excellent stay, lovely lodge that was clean and as advertised. Hot tub was amazing and the whole thing was great value for money. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. The location is the only downside as it is a bit remote but a very minor gripe.
Nathan from Bracknell (02 August 2016)

Lovely cabin couldn't ask for nicer staff really enjoyed my stay there 10 out of 10
Siana from Birmingham (26 July 2016)

This is our second visit. So needless to say we love it. Just off the m5 so convenient. Be warned the verandas are open so dog lovers take a long lead as the area outside the lodges allows the dogs to roam but must be kept on lead. It's also a good base for site seeing exeter is beautiful. We love the jurassic coast bit of a drive but good roads and worth it. . will definitely return.
David from Port Talbot (25 July 2016)

Had a great time thank you! would definitely stay again. Fishing lakes were great and so was the hot tub!
Sam from Dorset (23 July 2016)

We stayed in otter lodge for my partners 30th birthday, he is a keen fisherman and I have recently joined him in enjoying some good fishing. The fish were not as described on the website as we were told by one of the staff members when discussing the fisheries we were told they were smaller than what we had been led to believe online. However, it was easy to catch there due to quantity. The lodge itself was too basic, two of the beds were broke, the double mattress sunk into itself and one of the single was the same, which led us sharing one single bed in order to sleep. The sofa's were dirty and so we didn't want to sleep on them. I do feel that the staff were lovely and friendly, the lodges are a little too close together with little privacy, the hot tub became rather difficult to enter without the neighbouring lodge staring at me and we were watched the entire time we were trying to relax outside. I did like the fact that our dog could enjoy the holiday with us and it was clean from others dog mess anywhere on the site. We did buy new pans and cuterlry due to the ones we had being scratched or/and rusty.
Stacey from Staffordshire (22 July 2016)

It me and my partner's very first holiday together in 3 years and we could not have picked a better place! we left feeling so relaxed and happy, the lodge was gorgeous, the hot tub like everyone else says is amazing, definatly the icing on the cake! we caught lots of fish and the staff was to die for!! sadly we had a little incident back at home and might to have had to cut the holiday very short but the staff was so lovely and understanding that they did everything they could do to help us and make sure we spend the whole holiday there. I really can not recommend this place enough! we will be coming back here again without a doubt! x
Curtis (22 July 2016)

Beautiful cottages, small site which was great for a quiet weekend away. In a fab location to get to exeter and there's a local town 2 mins away in the car. The cabins are lively, but the site itself looked a little dull when we first pulled up, but once we were settled in it was really peaceful.
Rebecca (10 July 2016)

My partner and I loved our stay in woodpecker lodge! it was very clean, well presented and in such a beautiful, peaceful location. It was a perfect break for relaxation and serenity. . we received a phone call earlier in the morning of arrival, letting us know we had been upgraded to another lodge (woodpecker) - we were astounded with the great amount of room in the lodge there was. The only downfall was that we didn't have a bath; I really could have done with a bath bomb bath! . . I would definitely go again! I would reccomend it to anyone!
Lamiah from Brighton (29 June 2016)

Really great customer service. Loved the quality of accommodation and really felt at home!
Vanessa from Poole (26 June 2016)

Lovely place to stay.
Vicky (03 June 2016)

A spacious lodge in quiet location. the hot tub made a fun addition. the lodges were nicely spaced apart to give privacy to occupants. close enough to exeter and other interesting places.
Elizabeth from Ashford, Kent (24 May 2016)

Just the style of holiday we were looking for..peaceful
Patrick from Derby (14 May 2016)

A lovely relaxing lodge very peaceful and country side walks.
Kim from Bristol (09 May 2016)

Lovely, peaceful location. Good fishing on the lakes. Could do with wifi as there is no phone signal.
Allan from Derby (21 April 2016)

Another great stay at this quiet resort. Badger lodge has all you need including the fantastic hot tub which has a roof over the top..great in the rain! the lodges are in a good location near to the m5 so handy to get around devon. I'm sure we'll be back, thanks for another fab stay!
Debbie (28 March 2016)

Brilliant holiday! excellent value for money for two of us. My partner fishes so was perfect for him, although bit annoyed he had to pay extra on top of the lodge price. Staff were brilliant, easy to get hold of. Could ring them for anything. Lodge was really nice, clean, had everything we needed, apart from a hoover. Tesco and aldi were just down the road (5 min drive). lovely location, quiet and peaceful. Hot tub was brilliant. Definitely would reccomend and come back again!!
Laura from Bristol (25 March 2016)

Nice place, very relaxing. . when we arrived there was no one to welcome us and give us a welcome chat, left the key in the door and we let ourselves in. Same on leaving no one to collect key just left in the door.
Sarah from Acton (19 March 2016)

Hot tub was absolutely lovely boiling on arrival, helpful staff very good value for money tesco town and pubs 2 miles away. Lovely and clean- would definitely recommend
Evie (09 March 2016)

Absolutely amazing! went for hen weekend and had no complaints what so ever! even allowed to put up balloons, banners etc
Nicola from Bristol (07 March 2016)

Lovely time away nice and quiet hot tub was amazing, only thing I hated was having no phone signal as couldn't really relax as much worrying no one could contact me in a emergency with the kids
Zoe (29 February 2016)

Second time here, it's peaceful, quiet, cosy, spacious and clean, pack your wellies, bathers, food and wine and enjoy....bliss....
Elizabeth from S. Wales (22 February 2016)

This is our 3rd visit to goodiford mills and it certainly won't be our last. The lodges are set in tranquil countryside and are clean, tidy and have everything you need. the staff are friendly and helpful and the hot tubs are well looked after and divine! its perfect for relaxing and if you like fishing there are lakes on the doorstep. The keepers cottage pub serves delicious food and is not too far away.
Caroline from Burgess Hill (19 February 2016)

The lodge was not as pictured and the hot tub was not in a covered area. The site was miles from anywhere. Only fit for the fishing aspect nothing more.
Hiedi from Poole (13 February 2016)

Great location very quiet
Helan from Cornwall (12 February 2016)

This is a perfect setting if you are looking for peace and quiet. We loved the luxury of the hot tub and somehow the winter weather made it seem so much nicer .
Sue from Dorset (31 January 2016)

Good peaceful location.well maintained hot tub daily. Very clean lodge. And nothing was to much trouble for the owner and his staff. Easy acces to m5 motorway.also close to shopping and dining facilities. Definetly reccommend the site to any one and I will look forward to returning back there. Thank you for a very good holiday.
Andrea from Oswestry (21 January 2016)

When we arrived at goodiford mill, we were very disappointed to find the hot tub was cold (9). between the 3 of us, we book through yourselves often, and had never had a good hot tub on arrival. The beds were the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. When we moved, the springs dug in the entire length of our bodies. The cutlery/crockery was poor standard and a wine glass was in the cupboard with a crack in it!! it also wasn't the cleanest lodge we have stayed in. I think goodiford mill should have a visit and rated accordingly!!
Nichola from Weston Super Mare (17 January 2016)

Great log cabin, lots of space and a nice big hot tub. Tesco supermarket and lots of pubs around for food. The way in to the site was flooded when we arrived so in bad weather I would ring in advanced and ask for alternative directions from the motorway because there is another way in, the owner took us around another way which we were thankful for, however he seemed annoyed at this and wasn't very friendly. Could of been resolved if alternate directions were given to us. Apart from that it was lovely and good site away from it all.
Claire from Staffordshire (03 January 2016)

Lovely and relaxing calm and peaceful. No internet which is nice as no distraction from the peace. Second time here and will be back
Robert (27 December 2015)

Brilliant holiday. Really nice place and great value for money
Alexander from Bournemouth (27 December 2015)

We booked to stay here for our mini honeymoon break after our wedding. After all the stress of a wedding it was the perfect place to come and relax. We will definitely be booking to come back and stay here.
Lauren from Swindon (23 December 2015)

Was a really good chilled out few days, only down side was there was no reception (that we could find anyway) so if we needed anything we would have had to phone the number left in the lodge, but there was no phone signal, so this would have proved difficult! despite that, I would definitely stay here again!!!
Robert from Larkhill (18 December 2015)

Loved every minute of our stay. Very relaxing just what we needed before christmas began. Would definately go back.
Rebecca (11 December 2015)

We have just returned after our second stay here. the lodge is lovely and has everything. You need and peace and quiet too. the hottub is amazing and a night under the stars cant bebeaten. our dog loved it too. we'll definately be back
Sue from Neath (08 December 2015)

Second visit and will return
Richard from Gloucester (07 December 2015)

Great break, tranquil setting, amazing lodge and fantastic hot tub! enjoyed every minute!
Sarah from Devon (06 December 2015)

Great place to stay for peace and quiet. Clean and comfortable, would definitely book to go again.
Nicola from Bridgwater (01 December 2015)

Goodiford mill was a let down when we got to the site we called and when they rang is back and was surprised I rang them even tho it tells u to contact them when you arrive the path way you drive down to get to your hut has so many holes in it u could hardly drive down it when we got inside there was a gap in the door so it let the wind come straight in to the hut and made the door shake constantly the hot tub was good but other than that wouldn't stay there again
Lucy from Bristol (21 November 2015)

Had a lovely relaxing week. The foxy lodge is basic but pleasant. Hottub was lovely but there is no where to dry your things after - everywhere started to feel damp after a couple of days. Didn't explore the area much but it seemed quite nice. Easily accessible from the m5. There is no mobile reception on site which I liked as could really switch off but you need to call when you arrive - so ring when you're nearly there. Overall it was a lovely, relaxing experience.
Anne from West Midlands (13 November 2015)

Been here a couple of times now, absolutely wonderful place. quiet, but ten to fifteen minutes away from two different towns that have a selection of shops so obtaining food and other supplies is no problem. recommend this place as a great place to unwind! hot tubs on both occasions have been great.
Alan (09 November 2015)

A great escape from it all.
Sue from Worcester (04 November 2015)

We had a wonderful 5 days at goodiford mill! we arrived and called the number who said that someone would be with us shortly. we found the key in the door and let ourselves in, and one of the staff arrived about half hour later as we were unpacking. log cabins were lovely! so cosy and everything that you need for a break away. luckily we'd arranged a tesco delivery for soon after we'd arrived, although there is a tesco very local, it was nice to have it delivered after a long drive. We were worried that it could be a bit cold, but it had full central heating and we were always toasty. the décor is maybe a little dated, and could do with updating, as could the bathroom, and the beds, as others have said, aren't the most comfortable, but it's perfectly adequate. The hot tub just outside is the absolute icing on the cake though! we spent quite a lot of time out there in the evenings and it was beautiful. the surroundings were so pretty too, even if you're not into fishing (we weren't) have a walk around the lake and take in the views, it's so peaceful, although watch the mud, it can get a bit slippy! it's quite a central place to have a nice drive out from, and only a few minutes away from the motorway. all in all a great little break, we'd definitely book to go again, no hesitation.
Jo from Grays, Essex (01 November 2015)

If you want to relax and get away from the world this is the place for you. Just what I needed after a busy year and would pay a return visit in the future
Malcolm from Chester (31 October 2015)

A lovely short break in a very nice lodge, clean and comfortable. fab hot tub! a great location in a peaceful spot, but near enough to the motorway to be able to visit favourite places in both north and south devon. was initially concerned after booking that the directions included crossing a ford, but it was very shallow and not a problem. would definitely visit again.
Marie from South Wales (29 October 2015)

We felt the lodge looked tired and a bit dreary. Some of the areas eg the bathroom would benefit from some attention. The bed linen looked old and having to hire the towels seemed like an inconvenience. I think they should be included in the price.
Anna from Penarth (26 October 2015)

A very relaxing stay and great hot tub
Yvonne (12 October 2015)

We had a very relaxed stay at goodiford mill, it is within easy reach of exeter. The lodge itself was very large and home from home. It's equipped with everything you need and it spotlessly clean. The hottub is an amazing feature which was very enjoyable. Will definitely book here again.
Carolyn from Highbridge (12 October 2015)

Great time at goodiford, lovely location and very peacefull. Would definitely return. . many thanks
Paula from Southampton (10 October 2015)

Lovely stay. Very peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely book again.
Karl (08 October 2015)

Lovely place good value. Had issue with the shower so we reported it and they did send out an engineer.
Samantha (05 October 2015)

Excellent short break. very restful, the hot tub was brilliant, everything clean and well laid out.
Al from Somerset (28 September 2015)

No hot water pressure no good so could only have cold baths showers x
Heidi from Pyle (28 September 2015)

Went with a group of 6 girls for a friends birthday. Nice setting although a few more local pubs serving food all day would have been nice. Nice quiet, relaxing setting. Lodge was amazing, well equip and hot tub was clean and in full working order. Avoid weary traveller pub at all costs!!
Sophie from Bournemouth (23 September 2015)

Loved this place, if you want peace and quiet this is for you, the area around is beautiful, long walks and friendly locals....fab
Jayne from S. Wales (21 September 2015)

Excellent holiday lodges are great everything you need for a relaxing time
Alison from Northamptonshire (19 September 2015)

We had a fabulous week, so relaxing and quiet! will be booking again. The hot tub was brilliant after a day out, the cabin was very clean and comfy, loved sitting and watching the moorhens each evening, lovely holiday, looking forward to going back.
Donna from Bicester (12 September 2015)

Fantastic breakaway will certainly go again
Dave from Hextable Kent (08 September 2015)

The lodge was lovely and clean no mobile phone reception or internet so getting directions was difficult or searching for places to eat. Also told to call on arrival but with no phone reception had to drive out to call and turn bk
Kerrie from Coventry (06 September 2015)

Great place with lovely hot tub. Quite expensive as school holidays but always high prices everywhere. Lovely location for visiting devon.
Lynn from Maidstone (27 August 2015)

Pictures are not accurate. Paid for a private hot tub which I expected to be able to use on arrival this in fact was not the case and tub could not be used until the following day which I was extremely unhappy about as my party lost a days use.
Customer 63 from Bridgwater (20 August 2015)

The lodge is clean and although basic it was perfect for a relaxing escape.the location is remote but if you drive perfect base to go from. The hot tub was fantastic and I would say the best location on the site as own private decking area . I would go there again.
Victoria from Maresfield (18 August 2015)

We had a lovely time, lodge was very clean and well equipt, hot tub was amazing. great location which was peaceful and beautiful with little villages surrounding you, we also ate out a few nights locally and the food was amazing.
Carly from Swansea (14 August 2015)

Lovely place, nice area, loved the hot tub, dog enjoyed all the walks. beds and settees not the most comfortable but overall we enjoyed the break and lack of wifi!
Amanda from Bournemouth (10 August 2015)

Don't arrive early check in is from 4 sharp. Lodge okay no refinement, few nails sticking out in places. Strange set up on the lodge, frosted windows so you can't see out. Supposed to sleep 6 but there are only 4 drinking glasses, 5 forks from poundland etc .interior stuff cheap and nasty. Has potential to be great but just isn't!
Sian (08 August 2015)

We stayed here as a family of 6. We've travelled and stayed in lots of lodges around the uk but this has to be the worst. Our first problem we encountered was when we arrived, nobody was answering our call to acknowledge we arrived. We couldn't enter the lodge until somebody came along to let us in. As we booked a lodge with a hot tub, we were very excited to get this up and running. However the hot tub was horrendous. The jets didn't work, the water was filthy, it was leaking tremendously and the filter was completely broken and floating around in the water. When we asked for assistance about this, an old man came out and said we must have broken it!!! we had just arrived! ridiculous. He said somebody would come and fix it but this never happened throughout our 4 night stay even though we complained as it was unusable. Cleanliness inside was average. But as far as staff helpfulness is concerned it really is a big fat zero. We shall never be returning or recommending this place to anyone. A very disappointing and sad holiday for the family.
Paula from St Austell (07 August 2015)

Very comfortable lodge, and more spacious than we expected. The hot tubs are kept spotless and such a treat when relaxing in the evening. They are located next to a fishery so do suit those who want to do fishing perfectly - for those who want to visit the coast it is a bit of a drive but otherwise is easily accessible from the m5 and you pay a lot less than you would for a similar accommodation at one of the coastal resorts. Overall we loved it and have recommended to others.
Katie from Bedfordshire (01 August 2015)

Good location close to m5 but still peaceful. Pub walking distance but the walk is quite over grown.
Katie from Stoke (31 July 2015)

Nice, clean, and very pleasant surroundings. Everything was ready upon arrival. Only negative would be that because phone signal was non existent (was I didn't mind) there was no wifi. But overall very happy and will definitely be going back.
Steve from Gloucester (25 July 2015)

Loved it! lodge was spacious and clean good location, fishing and hot tub just topped holiday off definitely would stay again.
Julie from Lincolnshire (25 July 2015)

Fantastic time in a lovely quiet location. Just what me my fiancé and daughter needed. Hot tub was beautiful and well maintained. The lodge was cosey and well equipped. We loved it that much we had tried to book in the following weekend but the application for dates on the site kept failing. Close to a lovely town, and a tesco was about a 5 min drive if that. Everyone was really friendly there to that was staying in the other cabins. . . not sure if they do but would be nice to offer existing customer special prices as we would love to come back. Have recommended to family & friends already :-)
Roxanne from Dursley (14 July 2015)

Great, will go again - fishing excellent, lodge has everything you need and a hot tub outside.

The stay was lovely and the hot tub was really nice. But unfortunately I would not choose goodiford mill lakes again as there was not much to do in the area.

Our holiday was amazing!! the hot tub was up and running when we got to goodiford mill, we didn't expect it to be ready as it tells you when you book that it will take a day to warm up but it was so that was a bonus. They generously upgraded us to the new lodge woodpecker and it was superb! we didn't have to travel far for shopping as there is a tesco 5 minutes away with other shops around the area including a tackle shop. The fishing was quality we went on the course lake 3 days straight and caught a lot of fish, I caught 35 my bro caught 30 and my dad caught 30 so 95 carp in 3 days isn't bad all reasonable sizes and weights the biggest we got was a 15lb. All together is is a fantastic place for a nice quite chilled holiday with a cheeky bit of fishing and hot tub time. Would 100% recommend to everyone :)

We had a splendid time. The place was clean and larger than expected. The guy who runs it was very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was very clean and they come round to check on them every morning. It was great to be able to chill when the kids were in bed, knowing they were safe. Good value for money for sure!

We thought the accommodation was basic and minimal. The fridge was too small, the oven was dirty inside, there were very few channels to watch, the kitchen utensils were very basic and the bedroom linen was old but clean. The shower was too low and the water temperature had a life of its own.

The lodge it's self is ok if you don't mind limited hot water and no heating after 10pm . the thing that really ruined our break was the fact our hot tub was freezing cold on arrival !! apparently it's because they do a full water change for new guests ! I have been to loads of lodges where the water is changed for new arrivals and the water has still been up to temperature on the first day !! the staff were completely rude and didn't care at all that we didn't get to use our hot tub at all until 2.30pm the next day even though we were only staying for a 2 night break ! I think the fact the owners no that no guests will have use of their hot tub on the first day is appalling as this clearly isn't reflected in the price !! we defintley will not return ! we will stick to lodges where the hot tubs are clean and ready for your arrival and the staff are not rude .

Sadly we didn't enjoy our stay here. . the cabin itself was okay, it was basic but we enjoyed the hot tub. We weren't made to feel welcomed when we arrived and it felt as though no one was on site; staff or guests. . overall it just didn't feel safe or a nice atmosphere. . compared to other cabin holidays we've had this does not compare.

Nice lodge. It was clean, cosy and well equipped for what we wanted. the hot tub was lovely and all in all we really enjoyed our stay. the main bedroom was a little on the small side but for a few days it doesn't matter and I think if you read the details it is classed as a single bedroom. The location is good for pubs although most have to be driven to and it is in easy reach of the seaside (30 minutes down the m5).

Alan (23 January 2015)

Only stayed for 1 night even though we had booked for 4 nights. Nobody bothered to even ask why we left, just to say leave the keys inside the cabin. No follow up call. We were told the place is dog friendly, however they are just tolerated. Nothing in the welcome pack to say where the local walks were or even a small area to let the dog run around a bit (a lot of other places have that facility). the welcome pack just had a lot of do's and don'ts. Dogs had to be on a lead at all times, and as the cabins did not have any private terrace, we couldn't even let him out for a sit in the sun. The hot tub (which we did not use) was visible to the people who were fishing, which is something that could have been sorted by a simple screen. The ford to cross to get into the park can be quite deep at times which has actually caused some damage to our car getting out. What rounded the holiday off for us was the fact we were the only people staying on site which was fine, however there were two men working on the cabins around us who could easily see us and our car. I decided to do a bit of shopping in the local town only to come back to find one of the gentleman had decided that was an appropriate time whilst I was away to go and ask my wife for our address and credit card number which made us feel very uncomfortable as he could easily see I wasn't there and mentioned it to my wife. The men who were cleaning also used the area outside the lodge to go back and forth, which made us uncomfortable using the hot tub - we did not get in it once.

The log cabin was lovely but there was no lighting outside the cabin or around the hot tub which was little dangerous when getting out of the tub and walking to the front of the cabin. Also the park itself was very dark
