I booked this as a last minute break so got a very good price. However cottage needs re furbishing. Sofas need replacing, not enough pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc and mismatched. Grill was really rusty so couldn't use it. 1 dining chair missing, 1 patio chair broken. Mould in bathrooms, wardrobes well past their best, walls scuffed and generally unkept. Not clean, looked under bed and had wrappers and thick dust. Hot tub nice and a good view. The holiday park across the road was pretty much the same. I actually described it to a friend as probably being really nice when it opened but it needs a major overhaul. Pool was old, felt dirty. Crazy golf unkept with a lot of it broken. Lots of machines and games in the amusements don't work. Gym very small but ok. I think it is described as having a health club which is laughable! take away ok. Bistro - nice food, large portions but having to pay extra to watch karaoke is a bit cheeky. Nothing to do in the area, never been anywhere so quiet!
Tina from Hull (31 August 2018)

Beautiful accommodation. Lovely views and fabulous location. Will definitely come back soon.
Dani from Southport (31 August 2018)

Basic accommodation, clean and hot tub was fabulous! sixth bed was folding and terribly small and uncomfortable for my 10 year old! really only comfortable for five people.
Elizabeth from Sunderland (24 August 2018)

The place was lovely would definitely come back
Hayley from Dundee (13 August 2018)

Did not use the park. Cottage is located on the other side of road with fast moving traffic. Good fairly quiet location as a base to explore surrounding countryside by car.
Alan from Leicester (03 August 2018)

Great stay in an ideal setting with everything you would need for a long weekend. Didn’t use the entertainment or bar at auchenlarie as we didn’t have time, maybe next time!
Gary from Dalbeattie (23 July 2018)

We were disappointed in how poor the sofas were in the cottage. also the fridge is ridiculous for a 4 bed cottage. it is smaller than a standard fridge and not suitable for a week long family holiday. we ended up being given 2nd of the same unit due to having no room to store all our food. the towels had a bad smell of damp. the cottage could benefit from a deep clean. people in other cottages partying through the night and was unexpected. dogs fowling outside our window and being left by the partying cottage. smell of sewage coming from ensuite in main room. hot tub missing a jet cover. no lid on bin which attracts flys. some issues fixed others not. emergency number - no one answers. very disappointed in this stay and we ended up going home a night early
Sarah from Hamilton (20 July 2018)

Very disappointed with how cramped the livingroom/kitchen/diner was. Fridge door was broke. Bin in ensuite bathroom was broke. Could have done with a good clean. Shame inside patio doors werent clean too could have enjoyed the view.
Kevin from Blantyre (09 July 2018)

Have stayed here several times over the past few years. furniture is a wee bit tired now, especially lounge seetees. the other problem is the tiny fridge!! our courtyard no 2 cottage was for 6 people and the fridge was smaller than a tiny caravan fridge. this proved a huge problem for us during our stay as the weather was hot, and we had a baby in the group. the freezer is separate, and it was fine. A wee update, especially fridge would bring place up to expected standard.
Gail from Neilston (09 July 2018)

Very spacious cottage. Good outdoor decking area. Very hot and sunny while we were there but there was no garden umbrella provided. Had a couple of issues and they were dealt with quickly. use of facilities of caravan park across the road handy. Lovely location.
Louise from Falkirk (09 July 2018)

Stayed before in cottage 3 but didnt like where the hot tub was, this time we stayed in cottage 4 which was a better lay out and had more lights inside which is much needed when cooking. Pluss we took our gazeebo and put it iver the tub and we were protected from the rain.

Loved it, fantastic place, staff down at bistro n take away first class, very friendly n helpful. Disappointed bought night in pack, given ten pound voucher for shop very misleading. No disabled access to garden in no 3. meant mum couldn't even see hot tub wee rail would sort.
Wendy from Tillicoultry (16 March 2018)

Loved everything about the cottage. It was great to have the use of the facilities at the camp. All staff that we had contact with were very helpful.

Went for my mums 60th with the whole family and although there's not any big shops round about the cottages the caravan site has all u need and very reasonable price as well. Staff are very friendly and nothing is every too much hassle for them.

Lovely cottages great break
Avril from North Lanarkshire (02 March 2018)

The cottage was lovely, exactly as described the only reason I say 9/10 for location is the busy road so need to cross
Lesley from Washington (02 March 2018)

Our second stay here, we love this place large cottages warm and comfortable. We were unable to travel home due to the weather at the end of our stay, no problem they gave us another 3 days in a different cottage and free of charge.

We've stayed here twice now and had a fantastic time. The cottages are lovely and spacious and the staff in the shop across the road are lovely and helpful. The only thing is the pub in the caravan park needs an overhall and the restaurant is a good ten minute walk away across a 60mph road. Apart from that, we had a great time and will probably return
Karen from Airdrie (26 February 2018)

Excellent accommodation. Hot tub is a real bonus. Well stocked shop across from cottage and choice of facilities on the adjacent caravan park

Lovely place 2nd visit this year - well worth it. Only thing if arriving late in winter is reception closes at 5, would have been nice to know check in process before we got there instead of panicking that we wouldn't be able to get in. Also as we were in 1, had other guests coming to us as well thinking we were reception not realising it was across the road and closed.

Brilliant time. . smelled of smoke when we first got into the cottage and we aired it out but it caused alot of people to sneeze all week. Better signage is needed when you come into cottages drive is unlit, and some signs pointing where to go would be useful. Also stayed somewhere before where the hot tub was cleaned every second day. Not sure if it needed it or not but maybe an idea. . . fantastic time. Would stay again in future. Helpful staff and lots of space and a smart tv and wi-fi and dishwasher. Really good. Above is literally just to help improve on the experience. Kind regards

We stayed in the farmhouse in november so apart from the shop everything else was closed (which we knew before booking), hence the score of 5 for facilities. We have already booked up again to stay in may when everything is open.

Once again enjoyed the well maintained hot tub.pity the house not as ŵell.when we ran out of logs for the wood burner which we brought with us the house became very cold.we tried the boost and advance on heating as advised but to no avail ( same as last year).we called the emergency tel no. And maintenance person informed us housekeeping had turned boiler down to nearly off. Why ? as it was winter outside and they knew we were coming !!. the reason we like this place is we are 5 ladies who like a room each

The farmhouse lacked washing facilities. One shower of bath taps, one bath and one power shower which had no pressure whats so ever. This was for 10people! the heating and hot water didn't come on the first morning but after a phone call an engineer came out and rectified this. . the hot tub was luke warm on arrival but after a telephone call somebody came out and rectified this. The oven was very complex to work.
Wendy from Dumfries (06 November 2017)

Best time I have ever spent for a short weekend. Best birthday present ever.

We had a fabulous few days. cottage was clean and well decorated. a couple of issues the lighting in the lounge area was dreadful not helpful with family who have sight problems. the utensils were extremely basic so cooking properly for 6 adults was a challenge no serving dishes pans small etc. the hot tub was fabulous and remained hot throughout our stay. despite the small issues we would certainly return.

Beautiful location, the cottage was clean and tidy on arrival. Loved the addition of a hot tub. Only criticisms would be the poor wifi and the fact the indoor swimming pool was closed for maintenance. Would have been nice to be notified of this before arrival!

Appalling accommodation. Stay in self catering regularly and this was by far the worst. On arrival the house was dirty, dated and one of the rooms smelt of sick. I would not recommended this place to anyone.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and we will be back soon for a 3rd. I love the cottage and the hot tub is amazing. The cottage was clean and spacious and has everything you could possible need. The place was winding down for end of season but the staff, particularly megan who did the entertainment at night were brilliant and so friendly
Caroline from Glasgow (06 October 2017)

Had a great time away cottage was spotless and the staff were friendly.was there last year and this year would go back again.
Joe from North Ayrshire (06 October 2017)

Lovely setting with plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas as well as numerous places to eat - be sure to look them all up on tripadvisor. The only minor complaint I would have is that the beds aren't the most comfortable, but otherwise we had a great time - our 3rd visit to the cottages and we will probably be back. The hot tubs are fantastic and very private.
Richard from Dundee (06 October 2017)

The set up was great and more facilities than we expected, though we took our dogs in the only dog friendly cottage. It was obvious many dogs had been before, maybe wood or tiled floors would be better than carpet

Good location. Ideal walking area.
Dennis from Barnsley (29 September 2017)

We’ve stayed here before, the place wasn’t as clean as last time. Cleaners need to hoover the whole floor not just the easy to reach bits. But the mattress on the double bed was much better this year!

Excellent organisation and ease of booking. Superb location. Clean cottage with an abundance of space. Carpets on bathroom floors are questionable. Cottage was for 10 and 10 plates/bowls were provided - so a few more for serving would be ideal. Good facilities - however on a holiday weekend the beautiful family bar with scenic views closes mid afternoon for a break??!! would recommend.

Julie from Hamilton (25 September 2017)

We had a great time at this cottage it was lovely and had all we needed to enjoy our long weekend. We also used the facilities on the caravan site.
Shirley (18 September 2017)

We had a great time at this cottage it was lovely and had all we needed to enjoy our long weekend. We also used the facilities on the caravan site.
Shirley (18 September 2017)

Had a really great relaxing holiday here, was good that we could take the dog and have the facilities of the hot tub. there were a few issues with the cottage from the previous guests but these were fixed quickly. Beautiful location, excellent facilities on site. great takeaway, loved that you got 10% off ordering online.
Amanda from Kilmarnock (15 September 2017)

We had an amazing holiday. The kids were kept entertained the whole week. The hot tub was fantastic and the cottage beautiful and just like home away from home. We would definitly reccommend and return to galloway cottages.
Jennifer from Castle Douglas (01 September 2017)

Lovely cottage only thing wrong need to clean shower hose
Anne from Mirfield (21 August 2017)

Had a good holiday plenty to do
Robert from Kelloholm (11 August 2017)

Great cottages. Hot tub excellent, take away was great too. Staff all helpful. No complaints at all.
Brian from Glasgow (31 July 2017)

The farmhouse was ideal for our family. Plenty of room and beds for everyone. Everything was clean and the hot tub was fab. The only thing is the road out front and the fact the hot tub is not hidden from view of the road. The hot tub could also do with a gazebo to use in the usual rainy scottish weather! thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the fact you can use the caravan park facilities is great. Fab view over the sea too!
Cara from East Kilbride (24 July 2017)

As always excellent holiday, clean and comfortable.
Catherine from Irvinr (17 July 2017)

Lovely cottage but needs a deep clean as a little rough round the edges. Didn't find staff very friendly at the park. Says has a bbq but this is actually a disposable bbq!
Iain from Fife (14 July 2017)

Fantastic cottage value for money very clean especially as its the only cottage that allows dogs x large enough for family hottub was fab beautiful surroundings and great that you can use caravan facilities as well highly recommend thank you x
Colin from Rutherglen (30 June 2017)

Had a great time. the farmhouse was very spacious. Only thing disappointing was the big night in box turned out to be a £10 voucher to spend in the site shop, could have got more for my £10 in my local asda stores.
Catherine from Grangemouth (19 June 2017)

We loved our time away, the cottage was perfect for my family of four adults one teenager and a small dog! we made good use of the hot tub though if I was to have a little gripe it would be that I would have preferred to have had the water in the tub hotter!!! the near by beach was stunning and clean no rubbish. The pub was friendly, thought the food was over priced and the menu had little choice, but the kitchen at the cottage was big enough to cook meals in, though my kids ( both in their mid twenties wanted chinese take away lol) I will be back x
Elizabeth from Blantyre (16 June 2017)

Really enjoyed the farmhouse big and spacious and the whole family had a blast - hot tub awesome
Fiona from Paisley (12 June 2017)

A beautiful location. Very peaceful even though it is on main road. Good facilities and very helpful staff
Karen from Newcastle (12 June 2017)

Great place and I would go back.
Carolyn from Farnborough (26 May 2017)

Fantastic break with the family highly recommended it
James from Glasgow (26 May 2017)

Always have a great time st galloway cottages been around six times now and never seems to fail me
Michelle from Edinburgh (22 May 2017)

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The hot tub was lovely and we had fantastic weather. The cottage was warm. Could have done with a few more kitchen items and a bigger fridge. Excellent views x
Hayley from Derbyshire (12 May 2017)

Galloway cottages with hot tub were absolutely fantastic very clean and tidy ,would definitely recommend to my friends, just a couple of minor things I stayed in cottage number 2 fridge was really small with freezer on top could've done with bigger fridge as there was the another bigger freezer there , the decking outside near the was worn and my grandson got lots of splinters in his feet ,look forward to our next visit
Caroline from Lochans Near Stranraer (08 May 2017)

Glad a fantastic time away the cottage was lovely and clean and definitely worry the money we will be back again next year.
Tracy from Bathgate (01 May 2017)

Great holiday. It is the fourth time we have stayed there. Fantastic location and the house is a great size. . . only minor niggles were the size of the fridge, which is small for the size of the accommodation and the kitchen could be better equipped.
Gavin from Paisley (24 April 2017)

2nd visit, again wonderful break, cottages lovely, excellent location. Will definately return.
Melissa (21 April 2017)

Cottage was beautiful, although the bed in the master bedroom is extremely hard, could be doing with a new matress , we had a great time
Nicki (10 April 2017)
